- This is the one you have all been asking and waiting for! We had FD Drivers Odi Bakchis and Matt Field come to The School of Drift and be our rippers for this video. We start at the basics with etiquette and how to get tandem partners and lead all the way to crashing haha. Make sure you check out and support the drivers and school. What a rad day this was!

Man this is needed! Leading non-competitive tandem is a lot of responsibility and requires an unselfish mentality! People need to see and implement this!
Everyone that drifts in Forza needs to watch this video! Very good info for real life and simulation drivers.
I drift forza 7 and it helped!
Should be mendatory to watch before entering Drift meetup for the first time haha
@@xxTyphoid that's what's up. There were a few things I learned from this video too, I'll have to practice them next time I'm in meetup lobbies:)
@@AdamTrackIT for real! So many Forza drivers could benefit from this but some people just suck no matter.lol I tell people all the time that practice is the only thing that can make you a better drifter but now I'm gonna tell people to watch this video:) ...and find a good tune/tuner. I got some killer tunes, look me up. Deelsmack
@@brandondeel3567 The thing is that people drift for points. Me I drive as I drive my real drift car on track with my buddys. Some people doesnt know the basic of tandeming, the either drag race you and you have no fun behind or when following they bump you really hard because of a huge surge because they doesn't anticipate your lead. Yes I will need to slow down when leading please anticipate instead of surging like crazy.
Great Video!, Two things that really help me is that when transitioning, try to start your transition at or before the car in front of you does, this gives me the jump on diving in on them in the next corner. the second thing is that when driving with 3+ cars, if you are a middle car, don't drive unpredictable and dive in and jam on the brakes hard, drive a smooth follow run so your actions/corrections don't propagate down the drift train.
yeah biggest thing that helped me with chasing is starting your transition a little before the lead car. In reality it ends up being at about the same time, but the fact that you start thinking about it and getting the car ready for it just before you think you should helps a lot for me
If you have the right placement you can wait and let them transition then drive back in. Transitioning at the same time only works if you have a gap between the two cars. If your on their door you have to give up then transition
oh snap it's matt the ginge, fan biiiiiiiiiiig ;)
So good, it's great to see three of my favorite drives talk about drifting. I learned so much watching this, it's also cool to see how different each driver's view, style and how they handle each situation.
yes!!! been waiting for a new video!
i know right
Amazing content as always, You're like Steve Irwin here investigating two species of FD drivers in their natural habitat.
I had the pleasure of meeting Chelsea at a drift camp over the summer. Super rad dude and a great teacher!
I sim-drift, mostly assetto corsa, there's nothing like tandeming with friends, knowing which lines they like, maximum proximity, door banging.. Damn
Perfect offseason content, bringing in tow professional personalities fom FD and coordinating your techniques to teach. 🤙🤙🤙
Great instructional detailed production!! amazing.
I don't drift irl yet but this info is helpful for me on assetto corsa. I can run very consistent lead runs but I could use a lot of improvement on my chase skills. I plan on getting a car to drift some time in the near future.
Finally Denofa is Back Hope you had a Rad Holiday season. 2019 Formula Drift championship coming soon
Chelsea Denofa...your the man bro. It's cool you actually reply to comments and stuff. Just saw the video of you guys a the sheiks mega mansion. That place is insane
Hell yea man!
Great video Chelsea. Drifting is growing and this will be extremely beneficial. Thanks man
Just saw this video for the first time and I gotta say, as someone that's coming from sim a lot holds true. However the idea about chasing the rear of the car versus the door of the car made SO MUCH SENSE. On sim, you can just go back to pits and then you're off again. In real life you gotta help your buddy fix his broken s*** and potentially fix your broken s*** too. Thanks for the incredible tips, can't wait to bring my car out to my first grass roots event (RIP PARC) haha.
Chelsea Denofa to update the drift bible 2019
Just stumbled across this. Awesome video Chelsea! Its actually really good for even experienced drivers to get back to basics. Great explanation and examples, precise driving, and very valuable info. Much appreciated 🙏
Best series on youtube
Awesome video! Thank you for putting stuff like this out there!! It’s way too often overlooked
I can't wait to go to the School of Drift! Best how to drift yet. Thanks for the 4k footage!
Literally my three favorite drivers
i like this a lot, i wish this video existed in 2012 so i could have heard all this before just going out and figuring it out on track.
BMW Power! I need to learn how to do this with my BMW M6 Competition. Thank you Chelsea!
Hey Chelsea, love your videos man, they are so informative and awesome to watch!!!!!!!!!!!!
made my day to wake up to a video from sensei denofa-san
Awesome informative video. People at my track need to see this video.
What a amazing video 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. I Cant wait to start tandem.
Wow...this was really educational.
Very informational video highly recommend everyone watch it.
keep up the great work!!
Amazing video. I love the explanations as everything’s happening really helps put things to mind
Great video! BUT one thing I didn't see mentioned was initiating WHERE the lead car Initiates, not WHEN the lead car initiates. Great job tho guys!
We talk about this in depth. We don’t initiate where the lead car does. We assess where the lead car is and it’s angle and drive accordingly
Kick Ass Video!!! 3 Kick ass drivers... Keep it coming!
Thanks for helping prepare me for a-class eventually
One of your best videos ever!
Sick intro!
"using my brake booster" haha good stuff :-)
I didn't know I want this video, until I got it!
As always, great content. Keep Going. And Thanks.
Matt fields driving style is nuts, riding the clutch instead of left foot braking is crazy to me.
Yea, it’s abusive on the clutch and drivetrain tho if done wrong.
Chelsea DeNofa no mechanical sympathy. Seems like it’s more dangerous than left foot braking. Especially if you are following someone that you don’t 100% know their limits, or maybe I just drive like a bitch 🤷🏼♂️😂😂
Great video, always love your content. You seemed genuinely bummed when they tapped but kept your composure, haha.
Of course I was haha. These are my cars and they are pro’s haha.
finally a new denofa video!!!! sweet!
This is GOLD!
Really good video, man!
Superrrr thumbs up on this vid
This needs sequels! Great content, many mistakes make sense now, and definitely gonna try left foot braking.
Chelsea, how much power would you need in an E36 in the dry for left foot braking to work? Stock 325? 200+whp?
Any will work depending on the track and car setup. These make about 230whp
Chelsea DeNofa thanks man! Looking forward to more of this!
Que saudade dos seus videos mano sou seu fã...
Voce é o melhor \o/
🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Accuracy stick broo, missing your content dude hope you and the gang is doing well. Kill 2019

Niiice, thanks for sharing mate!
Need more videos like this
We have a ton on our channel
Good stuff 👌
So i have been driving for years just picked up a wrecked e90 328i manual. I fixed it lowered it and welded the diff but having issues staying in power band what else can i try.
Great video dude
would love to book a session at the drift school and get pointers on my drifting from the man himself
Someone needs to start at 20:54 and replace the audio with rap music. it would look like Matt Field is dancing lol
😂omg
Hey Chelsea what do you think about e36 sedan vs coupe? I feel them driving completly different from each other whatever state they are in, stock, gutted or even rusted all the way tru they still feel different. And a couple of friends excperience the same thing.
Sick video! Keep it up. Ps i would like to see you drift a touring Some day😜
They are exactly the same outside of the sedan being slightly stiffer
Chelsea DaNofa i know the whole underside is the same, the sedan is stiffer and lighter but dont you unlogicly prefer one above the other?
Still would love to see you drive a touring🤞
From what I’ve seen he prefers the sedan, if you’ve seen both of his Bmw chassis he ran in formula drift they’re both sedans :) 👍
All I can think of is fr legend's 😂
Can anybody answer my question? So let’s say your on topppp of somebody’s door, basically tapping. What’s the best way to slow down to give room for transition? Handbrake, left foot brake, or just letting off throttle? Would it depend on the situation? Or a mixture of any of the 3?
If you’re gaining slowly left foot brake, if you’re gaining rapidly hand brake, if you’re closing very fast both foot and brake.
For giving room for transition breathing early to let them cross in front of you. Then blast on the throttle as soon as your bumper is clear
What are the models of these two cars? Are they both m3 e36's?
I love it
Add this to your "How to Drift" playlist Chelsea
thats rly helpful video need more like this and what are the specs for the biemers engine suspension tires etc ??
There are a ton of videos like this on my channel. Check out theschoolofdrift.com for info on the cars
More of this!
There is a lot of this on my other How to Drift videos if you haven’t checked it out
DeNofa!!!!
Just in time when i started going to Assetto drift servers :3
Hey what song is the song playing at the beginning? Appreciate your time
Had a guy complain today that my lead runs are on too big of radius. I’m like dude u been watching too much FD. In drif speed is the last thing on my mind
Hey, Chelsea if this were comp would it be acceptable to cut some track while leading to hit the inner clipping points?
No never. This is what’s wrong with public lobby drifting. Cutting corners. Not a racing line. Forget what forza helper line taught u. This is complete differe way to approach corner
What kind of wheels are on the silver bmw?
Drifz
These cars have the super or ultra SLR kit?
Thank you
what kind of flares are on the silver BMW? Brand and size would be nice
We used to make them back in the day. We no longer do that tho
so what you do to get the wheels under the fenders? anglekit problems😂
btw nice video, awesome content👍🏻
When is the drift school coming to the Philadelphia area?
The School doesn’t travel, but we do Class of Thrash around the US.

Chelsea should become a FD Commentator when his car breaks
Damn I wish I was this good, I still struggle with transitioning.
