@Erastum Thanks! That's really what I was going for. I agree with all of your comments - this is my favorite piece of work by far for those reasons. The colors and repetition in this show just really fell in to place. I put together everything that I'd learned and disliked from previous shows and used that experience to do the best possible show that I could for this one.
@N17771 I don't know exactly how many dimmers it was, but I think the number was around 65 (I can't remember what all I twofered, but I think it was just the pinspot fans that were linked). The venue has 380 dimmers, about 360 of which are available around the theatre (rest reserved for houselights and worklights). Also, remember that moving lights don't use dimmers, so those just straight circuits.
WOW... I do small (very small) light programing for my band (eufonicos) but if we ever make it I´ll BE SHURE TO CALL YOU!!! not only is it amaizing the hole thing! but its perfectly matched with the music!!! a true artist in what you do! congrats from Argentina!
@sixvideos I use what are called "follow times" for my cues on the lighting console to make the cues go at the right time in the song. These are pre-determined to the hundredth of a second so that the lights match with the music.
@Maxweisenberger I was using two 19" touchscreens to program with. I prefer that over an EOS because I can arrange the screens better and the screens are also bigger than those on the EOS. I like to have a customizable workspace so having the screens not attached to the console worked well. Not that I'd complain about having an EOS, mind you, but the ION worked fine and I don't think that I'd see much of a productivity increase with the EOS.
@silkyhands914 This was all follow times. No MIDI control at all. The ION is nice in that you can do follow times to 2 decimal places, so I was able to do the show that way. I would have liked to do MIDI, but I didn't have time to fix the timing issues that I was having with Qlab which is what I would have used to fire the MIDI commands.
very impressive !! how do you work when your programming your cue ? i mean do you record movement/position/gobo/color in one cue or you use lot of scene and put them as one cue ?
very nice, how difficult in respect to timing (man hours) does it take to disassemble move to a new location then set up for a show, that is given this is a portable set?
As an LD I love watching your videos, but you could never actually light a show with this style. It's awesome for light shows and UA-cam videos, but if you added in a live band this show wouldn't work at all.
dude that is very paul mccartney.. very big stage looking... love it...!! paul would be proud..

Glad to see the Open House Light Show Tradition continues.
Love to see a programer with passion

that was very cool! I've always wondered how folks do stuff like this but after reading your note, I see you programmed a crap load of cues.
Very good programmer !
