Hi Muchelle!!! I was wondering if you have any tips on how to move from productivity planning to actually getting things done. I often find myself making my notion super elaborate, using all of these journaling techniques and making all these lists, and then I get stuck. I don't ever actually reach the "doing" part. I procrastinate by staying in the planning phase. I've got lists on how I can move toward my 5-year dream, but I never actually act on those ideas. How can I get unstuck from this?

Oh, I have a solution for this:
I use Michelle's table for tasks, but I added the columns " Limiting Beliefs", "Affirmation", "when + how", and "review".
I have the same struggle as you and I found this helpful. Here's an example:
      Task: rebuild my blog draft
Limiting Belief: No one's going to look at it, cuz it's stupid, cuz I can't write, cuz I my ideas are lame, cuz it's not good enough, cuz I'm not good enough
Affirmation (opposite of Limiting Belief): What I write is important and helpful to those who read it. My ideas and experiences can inspire others. My ideas are cool! I write really well too.
When + how: I can do this at 1pm after lunch by sitting at my desk for 30mins and sketch the layout down
then I put this in my Google Calendar as a Task, because I like to check things off.
At the end of the day, I write a review about how it went.
I like to prepare my list end of day so I don't stall in the morning. I find this helpful because every time I look at my to do list, I can read my affirmation to destroy the limiting beliefs. These things creep up throughout the day and I like to have my ammo ready to go.
I hope you find this helpful!

    • @mjrose9329
      @mjrose9329 2 роки тому +18

Another option: break the task down into stupidly small steps that are so little you can't help but do them

Wow this video is great. Especially if you want to work on existing patterns and ways to improve your existing lifestyle. Absolutely going to do this and see what happens! So this also makes me wonder about what to do when you're trying to set up a new lifestyle for a major life change- like moving to a new country, starting a new job, navigating life after losing a loved one, getting married etc. I feel like a lot of challenges come up when you're going through major life changes as a whole and you're trying to figure out what's important to you. Would love your take on something like this!

I am loving your content and find your advice so worthwhile but I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed with wanting to integrate all of your ideas into my life. It's always the history teachers 🤦🏼‍♀️
In my sophomore year of high school, my history teacher took it upon himself to rate all the girls in his class by looks and body features. Then had one of the boys write each of our ratings on the chalk board.
He ended his marvelous lecture by explaining to us that boys only care about our body. Not our personality.
Meanwhile, he was a complete tool who would always complain about getting rejected because women are apparently gold diggers.
I complained to my parents and counselors. Nothing came of it. It took me a long time to truly understand what a pig he was. And that not all guys are superficial like that.
