Tremendous interview Lex.
Wq300wtw 8th
That's a very interesting interview. It proves that we can learn things about life even from poker players. Especially Daniel.
🧠Play Scorn Lex! 😎 Seriorsly Bro... 🫀
daniel is one of the best podcast guests ive ever seen on a podcast. he never interupts, hes so descriptive with his answers. it just works so well with him.
I love looking at Daniels facial expressions when Lex is talking, he is listening intently and concentrating on what is being asked. I want to have that sort of attention in conversations.
And it's so much fun to watch him play.
He interrupted in this interview. Relax. Daniel's still a fascinating guest.
@@paulmosman6468 Careful what you wish for. Someone with ADD might be able to easily focus on a conversation like this but struggle hard with other tasks.
this one was most definitely editing - its not like his normal format --- I'm not sure why --- but he's stilll a good guest!
One of Daniel’s superpowers is his ability to chat with anyone.
He def dabbled into 🍄
Find yourself a partner that admires you as much as Daniel Negreanu admires Phil Ivy
😂😂
Ahahahahha just classic !
True friends. Love Their interaction on Daniels you tube videos.
Or Lex Magnus Carlsen!
Phil Ivy is a God of poker. He is as good as
Hands down the best poker interview I've ever seen. Lex is asking and picking up all the right questions and Daniel is answering them in a way that the layman can understand. This is a must for beginner players and casual fans alike.
This is becoming the best podcast. He has the best guests. People I would want to talk too I love it lex
Yeah, I ithink it's hard to say but you could make a strong case that this is in fact the best podcast right now
Your completely right, lex is at the top of my list now adays
Welcome
Been for years my man. He's just a bit more populistic these days
Always has been
I actually got to meet Daniel through the make a wish foundation in 2006 before I had open heart surgery. We played a few hands and after like 3 hands he knew what I had the next hand it was wild. I lost pretty quickly lol, but it was one of my best memories of my childhood. It's nice to see the energy and love he has with poker is the same as it was back then. Great interview Lex.
This just in: Daniel Negreanu steals thousands from dying child
@@SnailHatan LOL
I hope you are well now and have recovered.
You cheated! You got to do your make a wish but you are still around! I’m glad you’re here tho!! 🎉😂
@@micahpediford Your special if you think everyone that is covered by Make a Wish foundation has gone on to die. I knew a Kid whose heart was too large and had open heart surgery at the age of 8. Before his surgery was sponsored by Make A Wish, due to the likelihood that complications may occur. His heart surgery was a success, but he went on to pass 10 years later
Never seen or even heard of Lex Fridman, but I do appreciate his interview style. Straight to the point questions, and ALLOWS the person to fully answer. So many times in these sort of interviews the host tries to control the convo or allows their ego to chime in too much. Instead he allowed a poker legend share more than he has in the past 20+ years. Great job!
because lex has nothing to say. Pay more attention.
@@mkballer4502 I just think he doesn't know shit about poker, but he's willing to get out of his comfort zone at least
He's a computer scientist and A.I. researcher at MIT. Cool podcast (a lot of science and philosophy topics.)
And a black belt in MMA
@@chefcurry787 „black belt in MMA“ 😂

2M subscribers is SO freaking underrated for a channel that brings in this caliber of guests, not to mention a host that can talk the talk in so many different fields
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I agree
100%
Look at how late he started
99% of the people are sheeple with no mindset to learn. They only want to watch Netflix, tik-tok, and complain about having no money.
Achiever watch Lex.
Never thought id see Daniel interviewed by you Lex. Thanks to both of you for the conversation.
Daniel has mentioned on his UA-cam channel that he enjoys watching lex, gothamchess, Hikaru Nakamura, Agadamator, lip reading, etc…
Exactly what I was thinking...
2:13:14 "Have your moment of grief, allow yourself to experience it, so that you can reassemble". This little diamond of wisdom has been truly lost for the past decades. Daniel is a great one.
2:20:21 "If an event happens, the event itself is neither good or bad until you assign a value. It can be dramatic, painful, but how you respond to it is ultimately up to you, you actually do have a choice".
You couldn’t pick a better poker legend to talk about the world of poker then negreanu. Cheers 🎉
DNegs arch nemesis Doug would be a good interview. The two of them together would be awesome as well. I’d say DNeg’s idol Mr. Ivey would be great but I doubt he’d say much. Hellmuth would no doubt give the worst interview ever.
He is not good in modern poker
Any young dude who has 5Yr+ in online poker is gonna be better than negreanu.
He is a face of poker though (for casual people)
13M profit in the last decade...
lex never fucking fails to deliver.
seriously hes gonna set the record as the best consecutive guests

The video didn't work on the Magnus episode. A-
How dose he keep getting such interesting guests?
love those f words
I feel like this channel has been curated for me lol all of my hobbies into one

Seriously, I played a lot during the boom around 2005 and for some reason have started watching poker vids on youtube over the last month or so. Then this pops up!
@@cyborgjorge same, was beating micro limits on pokerstars :D
You guys into chess too? Seeing Magnus then Negreanu now is literally pulling from my personal interests... A few others too, but honestly it's insane.
Absolutely wonderful. Always enjoyed Negreanu’s POV in Hold em, and his ability is to explain concepts really shined through this podcast...Thanks Lex for being a warm host!
He's a master in Omaha and POL too. In fact I think he plays everything other than the 3 card monte going on behind the Belagio.
everyone should aspire to be a bit like daniel. confident, humble, open minded and self reflected. what a nice guy
It’s only when Lex does a subject that you’re reasonably intimately close to that you realise this kid does t just turn up and talk. A real dedication to facilitating learning and understanding.
Wow. Was not expecting this. I’m a huge fan of Daniel. I ended up meeting him at a leafs game. Everyone kept pointing at him, I decided to go chat with him. Amazing dude. Always cracking jokes and just love his approach to life. Stand up guy no doubt
Pfft, Daniel's not that good, I've seen him lose several times...
I met him 15 years ago at poker tourney, top guy, no large ego, just spoke like a normal dude.
@@John-jr4dj several times....out of 100s of1000s....he is that good and better
@@paulcox9366 I was being sarcastic.
Kid Poker.. watched this man for years. One of my favs by far. He always had an amazing ability to guess exactly or damn close what his opponent has. Always amazed me.. Excellent podcast!
And there it is. I noticed Daniel has a very good and healthy understanding of the human psyche but also mental health in general. Then he shared about his wife, and it all makes sense. You gain so much understanding, when you are open, and mental health from somebody who has overcome difficulties. Its always inspiring.
Hey Lex, as a Poker Player for the past 55 years, I am 67 and playing for cash since I'm 12 years old, having this young man on is great! I have watched Dan play since he came on the poker scene. When I would watch him a decade ago, he would call guys hands, J Q he'd say... And the fucking guy had J Q!! Or the next best either way... Always blew me away. He has a gift that not too many will ever figure out or get a piece of. The game of Poker is ever evolving in what strategies are available to a player. Remember, one night, you clean up, the next, you get cleaned out. LOL I prefer playing only tournaments these days. Pay the entry for a great payoff. Cash games anymore are too volitile and anyone can make stupid all in bets and hit on the river and take your straight to the cleaners when he hits the flush on the river. Good luck, Lex. Let's play. I'm in NYC!! Greenwich Village!
I've seen Daniel call other players' hands on numerous occasions. "So you have fives, huh?" YEP. "I guess you got suited connecters...what, seven, eight?" YEP. "Sitting on a open-ended straight draw..." YEP.
After this, I would LOVE to have a dinner with Daniel, just to have a little chat about anything. What a great human being.
Would you smell his ass?
Daniel is such an underrated genius. His nonchalant attitude at the table is so practiced and deceiving while luring you into believing he’s just ‘winging it’. His ability to talk shit while simultaneously processing all of the things is unparalleled. Good ish to both of you
So true brothaaa 👍🏻👍🏻
Lex's format is so different from other pods. He allows so much space for his guests to explore his questions. Gotta love it

@@MrMcSnuffyFluffy are you ok? Why’d you stop making YT vids?
@@Flameapollo12 prob grew up bro, life goes on
im at my mid 20's now and struggling with life and the only thing I target for this video is his lowest point in his life and how he made it what lessons I can learn from his struggles in his younger times❤️
I've been watching poker for about 20 years. Negreanu has always stood out for me, not necessarily for his skills (although he's made some sick plays, like any high level player has), but for his ability to reinvent himself and keep up with the game. At 47, he's still there with the best of them, always learning and adjusting. It's refreshing to see.
Yeah totally agree. Just in general, the levels of sports professionals has increased dramatically in the last 20 years. I'm english so when I say football, I mean actual football, but players used to have a smoke at half time, and drink loads, and still be at the top. Now it's all nutrician, lifestyle, anything to get an edge, and if you ain't doing all that, you're falling behind. And poker is a great example of this. Watching the plays they used to make in poker 20 years ago, they'd get crushed now. Ranges, blockers, fucking gto. It's unreal. Have to be a nerd to be a winning playing these days, especially online. But Daniel has evolved, he's recognised the situation and adapted to it. It's a credit to him, and I fully respect it. RIP Doyle.
This was one of my favorite podcasts/interviews. I've been playing poker for over 20 years and used to play full time. I always thought Daniel did a great job of explaining the game and concepts in layman's terms for the sake of teaching or conveying ideas, much like he did here. Then you have Lex who knows little to nothing about the gam, but is a critical and analytical thinker and even without knowing the game is able to discern and ask astute questions. It ended up being a high level thinking component with regards to poker talk and theory/ideology, and I found that fascinating. At the same time, one can ascertain parallels from the critical thinking required for poker to general life and using those same thinking skills.
I disagree with a lot of his generalising statements about all lawyers being crooked and dishonest.
Lie,cheat & steal. That is their pledge I have been told by those in the business.
@@nicholasdemetriades9154 actually there's an entire philsophy/system in law: the rule is clear that atty's can get extremely close to lying but cannot actually lie or misrepresent truth or whatnot. Learned in intro to law myself, ie the class at uni
Thank you Lex! Daniel is such a great personality in the world of pro poker players. So interesting to listen to brilliant people speak whatever their career focus is. Great choice of guests once again! 👏👍
Agreed but I also want him to bring on Phil Helmuth and Tony G 😂
@@COOKIE-NZL and don't forget Phil!
I really wish more interviewers would learn by Lex's example and let the interviewee talk, it's so refreshing.
I think this is one of the most interesting interviews I’ve ever watched.
Such a great personality and human being.
Thanks Lex for this one ❤
Very pumped for this. Great guest as always Lex, thanks.
Damn...i love long forum podcast..i.e. What made rogan so popular.,,this guy is so smoothly brilliant in his interviews...
What I wouldn't give to have a drink and a laugh with Daniel, such a positive energy
Lex, love your approach to every interview. This one was great (as usual)😁
Your voice is the one that it would comfort me even if presenting the meteor entering the atmosphere and ending this world 😇
And Daniel, you grew into a wonderful human that has much to share outside his passion.
Thank you for what you shared with us this time 👏👏👏
Great seeing Daniel on your show. I was part of the self help group in Vegas (Choice Center) were I got to meet him and several other poker players who also took that course as well as many people from other walks of life. I'm not into the game so I didn't know who he was but after getting to know him and doing to of the "stretches" we all had to do I became a fan of the man. Great guy and really funny. Glad to hear he's happy in love. Wonder if he ever got the six pack abs yet;)
The respect that Daniel has for Phil Ivey is incredibly moving. Top tier conversation as always Lex!
Daniel is a class act - He heard I was a big fan, got my phone number and called me. Talked like we were boys and was in no rush. He does tons of things for fans/ people and doesn’t need the world to know he’s doing it.
He heard you were a fan from who?
You told him you were a fan ans he called you lol? Thats pretty wild

Lex- man, you're making some podcast dreams come true with this one. Kid Poker is my absolute favorite, and I can't wait to dive into this one! Thanks, brother!
Lex is really surprising me with this epic lineup he has on his podcast lately
Absolutely loved this interview! Perfect balance in energy between host and guest, with intelligent questions and intelligent answers in equal measure.
Amazing interview. Lex does a great job letting Daniel just open up and talk when he asks those simple questions. My biggest pet peeve is when interviews talk over their guests.
When he explained a leveling war going back and forth I immediately thought of “so I can clearly not choose the cup in front of me”
So you’ve made your choice then?
Lol... great trivia reference.
Man I'm so happy you did this interview with Daniel. Just awesome
This podcast has been great so far and I’m only halfway through wow ! I have loved negraneu since I was young , great to see him still doing his thing
Daniel is a nutcase & genius, and should be consider one of our greatest poker influencers of all time.
Lex is a better recommendation algorithm than UA-cam
This is super exciting having Daniel on here. I come from the same area of Toronto as he does, and I've been a fan of him.for 20+ years. Good interview lex!
Daniel was at his best version in this podcast..no wonder he went on to win 1st in the High Roller. Inspiring to say the least 👏
Lex has a unique skill of making all of his guests comfortable so that they all "spill the beans", just like Daniel does

I was just casually binging poker videos lately, out of the blue. I fell in love with Daniel Negreanus plays and personality. then bam, podcast on Lex? that's straight up telepathic.
Amazing Podcast! It's such a pleasure to listen to Daniel talk Poker - the passion with which he speaks on the game, carefully choosing his words, so beginners and intermediate players alike can understand where he is coming from, it's just awesome to see. A true legend of the game, and it wouldn't be the same without him. Just so fun to listen to at the tables or at a podcast - one of the greatest ambassadors we have in the game (even to this day).

Welcome to our world Lex! I'm having goosebumps while watching this! Thanks Dan for helping me think this way through your books!
Amazing podcast, I love the questions and connections Lex makes with alot of his guests, and obviously Daniel is on of the GOATs of poker, but damn I think the strength of his beard game may soon surpass his poker game, what a freaking mane!
Really enjoyed it! When you talked about Daniel’s Mom and how she fed people. The first time I saw Daniel playing on TV he was young. Had a packed lunch from his Mom. They showed his Mom. Most people would be concerned it made them look like a Momma’s boy. He didn’t care. He Loved his Mom and didn’t care who thought what. My respect for him began then. 🤙🤙

This little "speech" negreaunu gives here is easily translatable into ANYTHING. Anything. You could do a whole podcast dissecting this one reply. I just love the way Daniel thinks, but more importantly, I think his practice with teaching others has helped him express his thoughts in a fantastic way. I don't even play poker but I've watched it on and off on youtube for years, and this guy has always been the guy I pay attention to the most in any heads-up situation. Watching Daniel and Phil Ivey play heads-up is a fucking work of art. Yin and Yang at the same table and no one else to dilute it. Imma go watch it again.

Long time fan. He's added a lot to the enjoyment of the game from a fan perspective. I like how he thinks, and I just think he's a good dude.
