Please understand that all of the yarn and the magazines and all of the fabric/quilt stuff is precious to those of us who craft. That can all go in the auction in lots. Or at the yard sales.

I know sewing, crocheting and crafts are not your thing but, it is to some of us. My mom has been gone since 1984. This reminded me of her so much that I cried as you threw boxes in your van. I’m pushing 60 and have told my relatives that I don’t want my stuff to ever be put in storage. I get rid of stuff often. The more I watch these, the more I refuse to let some stranger go through my stuff. Love your videos but, I just don’t want someone else going through my things!!!

I do yell at him often because as a crafter, I see the want or need that could useful. Or for senior centers etc. I hate the thought of clothes and a lots of things he trashes. No money for him I know but as a Christian something’s should be considered. Love ya Jack.

Don’t underestimate the value of vintage fabrics, yarns and ephemera - some of us are desperate for this stuff! It does have value. The dusty old lockers are by FAR the most interesting to me 🫶🏻 Excited for this series 🤞🏼

This video reminds me that I have told my son if I ever find out that he gave all my quilting, sewing stuff, and yarns to a thrift store, I'd haunt him his whole life. Those items do have buyers. I know it isn't your "thing", but all you have to do is advertise that you have a yarn, thread, fabric lot, you would draw the right buyers who will buy that kind of thing. Those vintage handmade blankets do have a market with vintage buyers.

Quilting and Sewing is a billion dollar industry. Many love vintage books. Quilters love buying fabric and sewing notions. People who knit and crochet love to buy yarn cheap. I would advertise sewing notions , fabric, yarn at quilting and sewing shows. I see a lot of value.... lol

The second Singer machine I believe was a 99k. You can get more than $50 for that. Depending on condition closer to $150 to s200. Take some time to clean the dust off with sewing machine oil and never water. The gold decals will fade to silver. Also consider talking to someone who knows the difference between crochet yarn and knitting yarn. Hopefully someone can help you sort through the sewing tools so when it is time they will be correctly lotted up.

Those little doilies are crochet work that can be used as coasters or to set trinkets on some Sometimes you make a lot of them and put them together to make tablecloths for the dining room or even bedspreads have also seen them to make bed canopies or bed skirts. Very tedious working with the cotton thread. I know I used to make them. Now that I had my cataracts removed and can see again I might make more Christmas snowflakes or some dream catchers. I'm 75 and still have some of this old books even some from the 40's I got at a yard sale

And oh my gosh... I learned to play the saxophone in the 60s on my uncle's silver model. Very similar to the one you just found. Great memories for me in this locker!!

Jack, you have gold in that storage unit. We woman that sew and crochet would pay good money for the majority of items. The crochet magazines sell very well especially Work Basket!

I subscribed to Workbasket magazine back in the late '70s early '80s. Lots of vintage patterns will pop up in those old issues. Great find!
And I learned to sew on my mom's black Singer machine just like that. It was stored in a similar case.

Awesome unit. I was excited as soon as I saw all the undisturbed dust. I wish we had live auctions here. Thank you for sharing. Erik

I think you found my locker from a former lifetime! LOL
Those magazines are definitely worth it to crafters.
I know of UA-cam channels that are dedicated to working with vintage crafting patterns and materials.

The crocheting, pattern, magazine and such would make a cool whatnot lot.. The younger / mid20’s are gettin into making blankets and cloths
