Thanks for that information and that doesn't surprise me. This thing has enough tie outs to make me confident in that it should hold up to strong winds.
Awesome, thanks for the video, just got the tent and hoping to camp soon... The instructions were hard to understand but the video you did made it easy to understand, thanks!
I have a 2 or 3 man coleman tent that has lasted almost twenty years. Heavy duty tarp bottom, waterproof, bombproof, still going strong, was cheap, and weighs about 7 pounds. I miss the quality the older tents had for the money, most camping gear for that matter. Thanks for sharing, keep up the good work!
Thanks for watching. Like you, I know you don't have to spend an arm and a leg to get reliable gear. That's what this channel is all about. Thanks for sharing your experience with Coleman tents. That exemplifies the reliability that some more affordable options can yield.
I put it this tent in the park yesterday. The only issue I've got with it is the floppy side walls. No matter how hard I try I can stretch enough the side walls. I fear this might cause me a leak during heavy rain and windy weather. What do you reckon?
To be honest, since I'm more into tarps now I haven't set this tent up in a while. I can't say that I recall that issue but here's a video where Luke of Outdoor Gear Review takes a look at the two person version of this tent with the snow skirt. According to Luke, maybe not having the snow skirt is a plus as there's more ventilation if you plan on using it as a 3 season tent. Here's Luke's test of the two person version of this tent with the addition of a snow skirt. He's well respected so I hope you'll find his video helpful. ua-cam.com/video/8p1w4CFkYIM/v-deo.html
It does take a little time to get used to it but once you've set it up a few times, it's not bad. I'll admit, it's not the best for setting up in the rain, but I've grown to favor hanging more than ground dwelling lately.
I was looking for a tent and that is how I found your channel. I am glad you did this video. I just subscribed to you. You have a good channel. Thank you.
excellent! love the knowledge drop in the beginning and also the time taken to show setup in essentially real-time less a few courtesy cuts. many thanks! EDIT: BTW, any relation to Bill Oberst Jr. ? one of my favorite actors, eerily reminiscent.
That looks like an awesome tent for three people. You could definitily carry this in a vehicle or in a backpack if you're with several people. The prive is also very nice. Looks like a winner to me!
Thanks again my friend. It might be a little tight for 3 people with gear, but it's surely adequate for 2 plus gear. I got it in the 3 man configuration so I can fit myself, my dog Buddy, and gear. Buddy is a 110 pound Labrador Retriever. He takes up quite a bit of room. Glad to hear from you, How is your schooling going in Texas?
That's a nice looking tent, but a little too expensive for me. You did a good job going over everything. Great video my friend and thanks for sharing. Have a wonderful day my friend.
Lovely demonstration. I have the older model 2-man version (without the "Y" at the foot) so I have to stake it out properly to get the room inside, but even so I love the tent.
Glad you enjoyed the demonstration. I'm also glad to hear of someone else having the same make who is also happy with their purchase. You sure get a lot for your money with this tent.

#LIKE24 Excellent video, love camping but setting up the tent though...at least you can do it faster than us :)! We wish you good fortune with your channel and have a wonderful day.
Well thanks again. I wasn't trying to set the tent up quickly here though. The point was to show how easy it is to set up this tent. Glad it was helpful.
High, it is a very interesting tent. I have a lot, because i buy one every year. Others have stamps ;-) Now i like to know, how wide the distance is between the inner tent and the rain-fly ? Kindly Fiete
On the top where it's snug, I'd say about 3", at the bottom where there is more chance of movement, I'd say about 6" to 8", but I haven't measured it. It seems adequate to me though. Hope this is helpful.
High, thank you. My thought is now, is 3" enough, if it is very windy with a strong rain ? So please tell, if you had such a test-situation. Kindly Fiete
@@tannenherz Sorry I haven't had a chance to test it under those conditions, but here is a video of someone who tested the Naturehike 2 under strong wind conditions and compared it to a much more expensive tent under very windy conditions. Both survived well. This is the best test I've come across. Hope this helps.
This is a reply to Backroad Freedom . For some reason, UA-cam seems to have disabled my reply button and my upload video buttons. I don't know if this intentional, but for that reason I couldn't reply directly to your nice comment. I know this tent is a bit pricy, but there are also some nice ones that cost less. You can find them if you keep looking. This one just happened to have some features I was looking for. You may find a different tent that has features that you're looking for that may be more affordable. Thanks for your comment and you have a wonderful day as well my friend. Oh, and I'd also like to thank you for your subscription.
Nice looking tent and a great review Eric :) For the cost, the spec sounds very good. I would send the manufacturers an email and have them send you a few tent stakes for the trouble of the missing one. I worked in an outdoor shop for a few years and missing/damaged parts can be quite common with tents. Always a good idea to set things up before going on a trip :) Always good to see you brother, have a great day, all the best, Mark :)
The tarp makes the set up a little sloppy. The fly needs to be a lot tighter in order to shed water properly. It shouldn't come in contact with the tent. If the tent was properly staked with the footprint, the engineering that went in to the design of this tent and fly would work perfectly. The tarp you're using defeats the purpose.
The tarp was there to keep the mud off the footprint since this was a new tent at the time and the ground was really damp. Sloppy looking or not, it was also there to keep my knees from getting muddy. The tarp also helped demonstrate that the tent is free standing. I did mention that in the video. Yes, I could have staked out the rain fly a bit tighter, but it looks a lot worse than in reality since the sun was getting low in the sky accentuating the shadows. This made the rain fly appear to be much loser than it really was. You are correct in that the rain fly shouldn't come in contact with the tent. That;s what the clips are for inside the frame, which is where the inner tent actually hangs from. This keeps the rain fly from coming in contact with the tent. I guess I could have taken the viewers inside to show how this works, but I figured it was visible when I hung the tent on the clips. The only contact the fly makes is with the frame, and the frame is a good 2" to 4" above the tent. The video was getting long as it was, so I opted not to take the camera inside. Thanks for stopping by.
