0 arr and speed are overrated. I insist on using 0 arr if you're already fast with your current arr, not when you're at a certain rank as sec said. I would say it's again about how comfortable are you with your setting and not about forcing you to use the fastest one just because it saves around 0.05 second avg per piece. Also never overprioritize speed over actual efficiency or timings. Settings just allow you to play faster if your fingers and your brain are ready for it. If it's just to place pieces more comfortably, I don't see that working at least in my case but if it works for you, then go for it. I also have to say I have nothing against 0 arr being used, I just feel like it's been used way too soon.
I just don't understand top players in tetr io, like they "aim" the pieces so well it looks like they're teleporting the pieces to the exact spot, meanwhile me triple tapping to move it and making me slow
@@waidi3242 yeah its a measure of how efficient you are in your inputs, so that you can use the minimum amount of keystrokes to land your piece (which is faster)
@@justinhoang6293 yes but i don't understand how other players don't have to double or triple tap the direction (left and right) to move the piece when it's not far away. They just teleport there and idk how it's possible.
I am new and not familiar with the terms or anything. So basically, i am struggling with the handling. When I move, the pieces are always, erhmm, "slipped"? I spent fricking 2hrs figuring out my handling sensitivity but the pieces always end up 1 or 2 blocks away from my target spot. I tried play slower but no help. It feels like the tetriminoes don't stop right away when I release the button. it's like mouse acceleration in FPS games. Can someone help me figuring out what is the problem? Note: I played Tetris Effect for quite amount of time and am perfectly fine with its default handling settings.
I know this is 1 year ago but the whole idea of having non-zero arr and just timing when to stop is very inefficient AND slow at the same time. I'd recommend doing finesse regardless of your ranking, I was told to change my handling settings when I was B rank and it's one of my best tetris decisions. Tapping/sliding to a wall + tapping has a much lower chance of giving you misdrops and is usually faster as well.
noone will probably ever read this but i have a question. can you, and if you can would it be illegal to use a rolling-ish technique like in competitive NES tetris instead of relying on DAS or hypertapping playstyle? maybe not on a single button but with 4, mapped to the same key so you can simply roll as many fingers over the buttons as the distance you want your piece to go? would it work and would it be considered cheating?
@@Cookie-zn8lx you could roll your fingers over 1-4 keys depending on where you want a piece to go which is really fast and basically error proof instead of pressing one key 1-4 times which is slow as hecc or holding and releasing it which is very easy to mess up.
@@Cookie-zn8lx yeah that's true but i feel like it would still be alot more consistent and i'm just curious if it would work and if yes if it'd be considered cheating
DCD 1F-2F lol. Am i the only player in the game who has DCD to 10? If i have it lower, after harddroping a piece the next pieces appear DASed to the wall cause i dont raise my fingers after pressing rotation keys. I need the pieces to appear in the middle of the board so I can do finesse, i dont understand how everyone else doesn't do this.
I use 0 ARR, 10.8 DAS, 2 DCD and inf SDF. I am by no means an X-rank player, but my 40L PB sprint speed is 2.35 pps, TL speed varies between 1.45 to 1.6. Maybe that won't bring me to top 1, but I am still in the top 7%
@@zhungamer how do people play at 0 ARR? to me It makes no sense cos 0ms delay implies that the piece teleports to the walls of the board in one frame. how would you move the piece accurately if it does that?
@@jfdkfajsksadjlfa2218 two things, 1.) my DAS is high and my DCD is non-zero (currently 2), so some of my advice doesn't really hold (people typically use 0 DCD for "DAS retention" but I hold the directional keys as I hard-drop but other people often tap then release) so my DAS is 10, but 2.) two-step finesse ("0G 60 Hz SRS Movement Finesse"). My current 40L PB has a 83.17% finesse rate, so if you get used to 0 ARR with reasonably high finesse (at least 70%), your timing stops to depend on ARR frames, and your hands won't hurt, and can be more accurate than with ARR-based movement

I would say 0arr helps on starting to get use to finesse instead of dropping based on timing, which I often do before I switched to 0arr.

just take ur time placing tetriminos. its not like the gravity for tetriminos is as fast as the one in nes tetris

Can you make a video on jstris to tetrio handling?
i dont think it warrants a video you just use the formula tetrio das = jstris das - jstris arr
1:28 how you drop that piece and move it pls i wanna know nobody tells me
he says it in the vid, set sdf to max

When you’re das is 4.2 with 0arr and max sdf
i always thought sdf was soft drop framrs :/
