Put the key in the ignition turn it to the ACC push and hold down the lock and unlock button at the same time until your car lights flash. Your fob is now reprogrammed.
I have been 40 seconds with the remote control is not programmed
This works for NON GT models as well! Do not insert ignition key. Make sure all doors are closed. Switch ETACS to "set" press lock buttons within 1 second of each other then switch ETACS back to "off" position. YAY. Thank you person!! 😍

I have the exact same 2002 elantra gt and found the switch but the fob programming does not work. I bought my fobs from ebay for a 2002 elantra. Where did you buy your fobs?

I got it for only $20, and it works better than original. The button self clicks when you press once instead of holding on to button like original fob.
For this fob you're not supposed to put key in ignition. The directions were correct except for putting key in ignition. You just have to turn the ETAC module to set then press UNLOCK on the fob. Then switch ETAC to off again and reassemble. All doors closed when programming.
Haha, I got it from online. not eaby, some auto parts shop, but I forget the name of that shop. It's not cheap, (like $60 ish....)
If I have a key fob, will programming a new one make the old one stop working or would both work

Oystein Rogne Hello, you probably already figured it out, but if you haven’t :
1. Do the exact same process as the video, but instead of pressing one fob, press both fobs at the same time.
Once you turned off the car and remove the key, test both key fobs. They should both work. I have a 2003 Elantra GLS and Ive programmed two fobs for this vehicle.
I have a 2002 elantra gt as well and the programming does not work, there is the switch on the etac like the video.

Their is no switch on that little white box if you have a 2002 hyundai elantra gt I've took the whole dash out the vehicle for nothing

I have a 04 elantra I found the etc box mine is black no switch that I can find
Use your cellphone (with flash) to take a picture of the back side of the etc box (it seems we cannot take out the etc box...). Maybe through the picture you will see the switch.. Since the switch is supposed on the etc box (according to the manual book). Good luck.
my 03 elantra's etacs switch is imbedded on the side of the unit, not only you can not see or feel it, it was covered with a tape too supposedly for protection. I had to remove the unit to figure that out. In addition, the step for the key in the ignition didn't work, I had to skip that, based on the instruction that came with my fob.

@@gurwindergill730 you have to make sure your vehicle has this box, they all have the connector but not the security box, then get a programmable key fob and do try this lol.

Are you sure the switch is not there? At first time, I can't see it on the etacs either, but I used my phone with flash to take a picture of the side (we can't see from outside), I saw the witch. You should try to use your phone taking picture too.
Shuan He my 05 Hyundai Elantra GT had a black plastic etacs control box im pretty sure I'm gonna have to get metal one yours and try again or pay dealership/ a auto locksmith to reprogram my remotes
its under thw the antenna pull the plug on side out round one then Deen for a sticker not a switch. t
peel sticker it will be under and inside hole on the box hard to get to be sure to at me pic first cuz I'm not sure which is off or set and programmi my is unsuccessful
Olivia Orona Wichita Ks again the self programming is the metal etacs only from 01 to 03 from 04 to 06 it's gonna have be dealership reprogramming because my 05 Hyundai Elantra GT has a plastic etacs, I completely removed and toke it apart and NO switch.
