You should check out more European melodic/symphonic metal bands.. also, more Japanese bands! You should react to more Band-Maid (only ever did their first music video) and Lovebites! Also check out all the Swedish melodic death metal bands.. Dark Tranquillity, Soilwork etc (Night Flight Orchestra a side project of Soilwork band members).. And a power metal band from Germany called Freedom Call! (You'd like them) definitely check out some more Amorphis as well! Band-Maid has been releasing an album like every year though and they're getting bigger and bigger and have released like 150 songs since you last listened to them with Thrill and I gotta bring them up cause honestly they're the best hard rock band right now in my opinion.. And over in Finland Omnium Gatherum and Eternal Tears of Sorrow are worth checking out.. And we have a sick American band here that I just saw with Unleash the Archers in AZ called Aether Realm and they were with another band called Seven Kingdoms, both are good. I am surprised you didn't go see Unleash the Archers.. They played in both Dallas and Austin but I am not sure how far either one is from Houston.. Also you're way late on another German band called Avantasia and another band related called Edguy.. Way late. Check out Savatage or Trans-Siberian Orchestra out as well!

The music reaches magical levels when experienced live and then Floor's presence can be truly appreciated. They are unique in this way. It's like all your senses come alive and you're immersed in their performance.
I had not seen this in some time so I liked this. I think in this video Floor tries to sing the notes as good as possible, whereas in in the live version she more the storyteller. You can see that she has sung it not so many times in the music video. I would not have noticed that sort of difference if only live existed.

Dude, you are missing out. There's plenty of Nightwish that is heavier than this! Try Song of Myself, Sahara, Dark Chest of Wonders, Weak Fantasy, 7 Days to the Wolves, just to name a few.

They are awesome live, seeing them for the 4th time in May 2022. Though Marko quit the band in 2020. They won't be the same without him and his unique vocals. Though I am sure they will still put on an awesome show. 😁

@@cr1s1s0ff41th They haven't chosen a permanent replacement yet. They may not even start that process until after their world tour. In the mean time, session bassist Jukka Koskinen will be the bass player touring with them. (Yes, he has the same first name as their original drummer. Jukka Nevalainen) They said that songs solely sung by Marko will be skipped on the tour. Plus any songs in which Marko did a lot of backing vocals will be re-arranged so Floor sings his parts as well as hers or on some songs Troy Donockley will sing Marko's parts. Floor has done a series of videos on youtube showing what she does in her daily life when not touring and she talks about this in a couple of the videos. Sorry for the "book", I tend to ramble when I get going. 😁

Floor was meant for Nightwish, and Nightwish was meant for Floor. Together they are the perfect combination. Yes Tarja and Annette are really good vocalist, I just prefer Floor's style and vocal ability and of course, the Floorgasms.
i never understood the need for people to say that Anette is " a really good vocalist" being diplomatic instead of honest ? Anette was & is "not" a really good vocalist,she is a studio singer and average at that, very lacking in Live performance
Yeah Annette was OK tarja is by far the best floor I like Her with her Old band more than I like her with nightwish to be honest with you I'm not saying I dislike her with night wish but If I don't find any of the albums that she's sung on to be particularly memorable whereas I can damn near sing every single song Tarja and Annette sung with them from memory

Nice to see you back on Nightwish and talking about the lyrics, which a lot of reactors don't do because they are very poetic and hard to understand.
I hope you do a revisit to some of their old Wacken 2013 stuff though since there is just so many good performances from that concert like Romanticide, Storytime or Ever Dream.
And please don´t forget to give a random youtuber more likes and subs than the actual artist. Because you are a toilet.

"Endless forms most beautiful" is a phrase from Darwin's Origin of Species. The album is full of such concepts, references especially to Darwin, Dawkins and Sagan. Turns out Tuomas Holopainen is a nerd, and so are the other members of the band. So they made an album based mostly on factual stuff, rather than fantasy. They even have a sort of angry "anti-religion" song on it, Weak Fantasy.
I'm so accustomed to seeing the live versions, I forget there are other videos out there. I'm glad to see you've come back to Nightwish, stay awhile and do a deep dive into their catalog!

You should definitely check out "Shudder Before The Beautiful" for example (a song too many are sleeping on imho) , and for their Human Nature album check out all songs in their chronological order starting with "Music"!

I've followed both Floor and Nightwish since 1997, before they became one. Floor has always been on the top of her game and Nightwish as well, however going back to the older albums, I just don't enjoy the music as much as I did. Nightwish has definitely been reborn when Floor became the lead. Nightwish and Floor saved each other!
This sounds like Amy Lee singing Bring me to Life..... Nothing like the original Nightwish sound when I first heard them with Nemo in 2004. That was something special, it sounded different than most rock bands. Now they sound like every other rock band

There is a reason why they call him the metal Mozart...... I will say that this is actually one of my favorite Nightwish songs and it is by far the most underrated song that they have in my opinion

This will be a long comment, but bear with me for a moment:
It's not hard for me to say that Floor is my favorite nowadays, but man, i really loved the power beind Tarja's voice in 'Once' and 'Wishmaster'. If i have to put into perspective, i would say that Tarja is the most skilled and gave me those goth/darker vibes while Floor is somewhat a hybrid with awesome head and chest voice (also an excellent range), but her singing style gives me celtic/norse vibes, wich is a good thing if you noticed that Nightwish sorta "evolved" into a Symphonic Metal with flutes and bagpipes.
(wich i love, i must admit).
And sadly someone has to say this: Anette was a mistake.
She was too much of a "pop singer" to fit Nightwish and everything about her is wrong, from her looks to her voice; not a bad singer by any means, but not at "Nightwish level". When you think "Nighwish", you think about two things: Gothic Empress with Operatic voice OR Angelic Valkyrie with a vocal arsenal, pop singer "Snow White" is not an option.
(yes, you may now cast your stones upon me, i can take it).
It's just sad that the band started falling apart a few years ago.
First, my boy Jukka Nevalainen who had to step back from the band due to a chronic insomnia disease and now Marko Hietala, the awesome bassist with a nordic god voice, who quit Nightwish due to problems with the streaming and music industry, and no, he would never quit Nightwish with such a superficial argument, he also has chronic depression problems to deal with in the first place. (and both he and Jukka said once that this had nothing to do with Tuomas, they all still good friends and colleagues).
Nightwish is just an awesome band with unparalleled level of skill, love and thought behind every music they ever did. Certainly one of my all-time favorite bands alongside "Helloween" and "Avantasia".

To pack this (unnecessary long comment) up, try reacting to "Noise", also from Nightwish. It's new "metal stuff" done right and those are hard to come by nowadays.

When will you finally react to a whole Nightwish album?! For example their newest album Human Nature with Floor Jansen is good choice for you. Every single song of the album has its own lyric video. You should definitelly check it out ;-)
I've always been moved to chills by the humbling nature of the lyric "Alive, Aware, In Awe, Before the grandeur of it all". With the album being an homage to life, science, and evolution, that lyric just makes me stop and remember the wonderous and unfathomable complexity and scale of the universe, let alone just our little blue marble.
you want some "Heavy Nightwish"? check out, "Romanticide", "Song of Myself", "Yours Is An Empty Hope" Floor growls in that one. "Tribal" from the album they dropped last year. those are the ones that stick out to me. some other people might have more suggestions for this category.

Alex you introduced me to Nightwish and Floor, now I am obsessed Nightwish Army member. Floor is the greatest vocalist ever, not just for Nightwish for me. The woman can growl, sing opera, sing metal, sing Disney, sing Shallow better than Gaga IMO, she can sing anything any genre she chooses and just kill it. All 3 Nightwish singers are amazing! But Floor is such an all rounder!! Versatile voice or what??!!! You should listen to the 2nd CD from Human Nature! It's the total opposite to what you have already heard. But the music is truly beautiful 🤗
