This is a truly great testimony, Brian! I feel like I know you now, even though we've never met in person. I was also raised in a Christian church (not Catholic) and discovered the charismatic movement after high school. I was confused and uncertain of my future too. I got involved in the Pentecostal movement 40 years ago and also with Contemporary Christian music, both of which changed my life for the better. I still struggled with sin, but God always has taken me back. I am almost 60 years old today. I even went to an accredited Assembly of God bible college in 1984 and graduated with honors. It was in college there (in a hostile environment to Catholicism) that I "discovered" the Catholic faith for the first through my studies and the music ministry of John Micheal Talbot. John Micheal's music and ballads of worship have been with me all these years, through my many ups and downs! In time I experienced the pain of two divorces from two different women. I was excommunicated from the Reformed Church after my last one. Finally.... after decades I had my pride completely shattered so that I could give the Catholic Church a "fair hearing." When you are an Evangelical Protestant from childhood there is a mountain of "indoctrination" against the One True Faith to overcome. I was received into the Catholic Church at Easter Vigil Mass in 2015. Later both of my invalid marriages were annulled by the Tribunal. I am now married validly in the Catholic Church to my Filipina wife, who was born and baptized in the Church. We were both single parents when we received the Sacrament of Marriage and now have three boys to raise together. My point is: God takes what is broken and makes it into something beautiful if we let Him! Keep up your ministry, brother! We all have a testimony to share.... and yours is very needful! My main concern now as an older believer is the state of the Church and of our nation. God bless Bishop Strictland, Archbishop Vigano, and Cardinal Burke. We are in desperate need of a Return to Tradition and to our roots in Christian civilization. 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂

Arch. Vigano is now a sede. Are you a sede? You lack faith in Jesus and in the Word of God who promised that the gates of hell will not prevail against His Church and He will be with His Church until the end of the world.

Confess your lack of faith. Pray many rosaries first before going to confession to ask God to give you the grace of perfect contrition for you lack of faith and repent of your lack of faith so that your faith will become strong and solid ... For now, some of your faith is liquid and gas that is why your faith sometimes evaporates somewhere else.

I grew up Protestant. It didn't take me very long as an adult to realize that what my denomination taught did not line up perfectly with what the Bible taught. It did, however, line up much more closely than what every other denomination with which I was familiar did, so I stuck with it. My first introduction to what Catholics actually believe (vs what I had grown up believing they believed) was some stuff that Michael Knowles said. From there, I found Bryan, Trent Horn, Jimmy Akin, Scott Hahn, Matt Fradd, and Fr Chris Alar. I didn't need to be convinced of Catholicism: every point where I realized my denomination was wrong, I learned what Catholics believed on that point, and it was right. The more I learned about what Catholics believed, the more convinced of the truth I became. Fast forward two years to the extremely recent past: my wife and I were confirmed - and our children baptized - on Palm Sunday.

I was raised Catholic until I was 12, then my family for their own reasons decided to become Protestant. For many years I was indoctrinated with teachings against Catholicism and believed we were all better off being Protestant. As a Protestant I did encounter Christ and was in charismatic/Pentecostal circles for years. I really encountered the Holy Spirit in these times and I know what you mean when you talk about the fire of God because I too have experienced this. I have a Bible degree from an Assembly of God Bible college and after I graduated, I took time to pause and reflect and really look into church history. It was in my own brushing up on church history that I was led back to the one true Catholic Church. It wasn’t an easy road, and some of my family and friends aren’t too happy with me, but I know this is the will of God and I am so thankful for the sacraments in addition to my passion for the Lord. I loved every minute of this video!

The Lord works in mysterious ways ! Church history is a treasure trove of wisdom and insight. It is through the study of our rich heritage that we can gain a deeper understanding of the faith and recognize the beauty and truth found within the Sacred Fold. The Sacraments, bestowed upon us by the grace of God, are indeed a precious gift. They are channels through which we receive God's abundant grace and experience His divine presence in our lives -- But be prepared for the challenges that may arise, brother. It is not always easy to go against the beliefs of family and friends, but remember that your ultimate allegiance is to God and His Truth. Hold fast to your passion for the Divine Shepherd and let His Light guide you in all things. Pax Tibi!

Although it is often uncomfortable to do new things, there are many valuable ways to pray! At the heart, prayer is a form of communication and that can take many forms. You can begin prayer as simply as asking God to help you pray. Pour out your needs and concerns, just like you might to with a trusted friend.
God created you, He knows you intimately. He knows you better than you know yourself and He loves you. Pray in your own words, God will understand what you are trying to communicate. It does not have to be an intimidating experience! We will be praying for you, also!

The main problem or one of the main problems seems to be that in times past, the Catholic faith was handed down by one's parents and uncles grandparents etc. When this link was broken due to the family ceasing to be a reliable teacher of the faith there was nothing left to take up the slack.
And so a couple of generations were born into the faith but not catechized properly and so never developed a relationship with the Lord, never discovered his love and the beauty of his church.
So when we ReDiscover Christ we don't need to become something else like a Protestant or an Evangelical or _whatever._ We can take our newfound love for the Lord and remain in the church, his Body. And in fact this is what all Catholics should do. This is a true journey home, like the journey you are on and many are on. The journey back to God leads directly into the heart of the Church. ❤️🙏♥️

As far as I know, there are three different types of conversation stories.
    A. You were an atheist, and you thought that religion was either stupid or served no purpose in society, but after careful consideration; you started to believe that God is real and became a Christian.
    B. You did not care about God, and God was not involved in your life at all, but after going through some hard times and hitting rock bottom; you let Jesus turn your life around, and became a Christian
    C. You thought you were a very good and moral person, and did not need God, but after being convicted by the Holy Spirit, either by God's grace or through someone else, you carefully examined yourself and realized you are a massive sinner in need of a savior, so you pleaded with God to have mercy on you, forgive you, and became a Christian

Interrsting, about holding up your arms, i have a somewhat similar story. When my dad was dying, i arrived first and my sister's flight was delayed. I was by his bedside praying for 2 miracles, for her to arrive before he died and a catholic priest to arrive for last rites even though he wasnt catholic. I was so exhausted, Id hardly slept in 2 days. Then I remembered Moses holding his arms up during battle. Anyway, i stood up, put my hands up like a funnel. I prayed harder for hours. It actually seemed easier! The priest arrived 3 hours later, i did an emergency baptism bc he was unconscious and wed never been able to verify he was baptised, and the priest did last rites. It was beautiful. Then 2 hours later my sister ran through the door, hugged him, said goodbye and he died. I felt like id climbed mount everest! I was so exhausted.
I also had a vision of God's throne. I found myself in front of a huge chair and God the father was sitting on it. Now, He looked more like an old man. He said, Why are you here? I asked my question, he answered. I bowed and left.

In the beginning after my conversion I was on fire, wanting everyone to know Him, to turn to Him... but after a while I got discouraged! My faith became quiet! Which has its merits too! 😊 but It’s better to be so full of the Holy Spirit that you never fear to speak when the Lord asks you to!! I think you’re there Bryan 😄 please pray for me 🙏

@@CatholicTruthOfficial U should do a long version! I love long testimony stories!! Maybe title it something like "My testimony, depressed to Jesus" or "My Testimony, Jesus cured my depression" something like that, with a catchy thumbnail. It would probably catch the attention of non-Catholic Christians who like watching testimonials and when they hear that you, a Catholic, are filled with the Holy Spirit and have encountered visions of our Lord, it could show them that Catholicism isn't "dry, works-based, etc"

@Catholic Truth About your experience of peace that lasted for 5 days, where you didn't even want to talk to anyone else, nor listen to music or play games etc, would you say that this experience wasn't meant as a *rejection* of those things per se, because they are good things created by God for our enjoyment, but rather this was a unique grace where you were lead to spend special time with God and His peace, which is similar to how couples spend time together without wanting to give attention to anything else during that, yet *without this implying* that they *reject* those other things completely and never want to enjoy them again or not appreciate them? I ask this because what you said made me wonder about how this relates to appreciating the goodness of God's creation, and this seems to be a possible way to harmonise it with how Scripture speaks of God creating other things for our enjoyment & them being created good so we should accept them with thanksgiving. What do you think?

    • @CatholicTruthOfficial
      @CatholicTruthOfficial  Рік тому +1

Yes exactly. Certainly not a rejection of those things. God was calling me deeper with him and giving a foreshadowing of his eternal delights which surpass everything.

@@CatholicTruthOfficial I wonder, would this also apply to your experience of Christ showing you riches & luxuries of the world in a vision, and them being gray compared to the riches of God? It prompting you to choose the Lord over other things suggests the riches symbolised the world as opposed to God, in the vicious sense, not created good things in themselves, which have their God-given value & place.

It's truly amazing testimony! I'm 22, turning 23 in November and my puberty was almost the same. I was angry and felt like a mistake, I was depressed and lonely, I didn't even have real friends and I was addicted to social media to somehow fill the loneliness... I was still kinda Christian, but I started mixing it with some new age hoping that it would bring me joy and like enlighten me, make me happy. But it kept getting worse and worse, I was boiling inside, I almost didn't talk to my family, I was always closed in my room and almost lost my Christian Catholic faith completelly... Until I begged God to show Himself to me, to let me know who He is and that if He loves me... I've had a New Testament and I've read the passage when Saul converted and I was praying for something like that to happen to me. Like I wanted to see God to make sure that He's real and that He's who He says He is. I didn't know if it is Allah or Jesus or some hindu god, but I was ready to be obedient to anyone who will appear to me (not really ready but I was like okay, it is what it is and I can't do anyhing about the fact of Him being who He is anyway, so be it). Couple years ago I still don't have friends, but I have a lovely fiancé who is my best friend, I'm getting closer with my brothers and by the grace of God I don't feel lonely anymore because I can feel Him working in my life every single day, every single second, whether I'm sick, healthy, sad, happy or tired, at every moment I feel Him. I went through a protestant phase that didn't last for a very long time, I've started to study my religion and compare it to historical evidence and compared it to other religions and now I'm a full Catholic. What really buggs me is the fact that I'm still angry, not depressed, but angry and sometimes I just feel like breaking things and it makes me so sad because I know it breaks my fiancé's heart to see me like that and I still pray to God to deliver me from the anger and I try to do something about it, but every time I try to suppress it or somehow like push the anger away I feel like my insides are boiling and it really doesn't change anything... I'm a stubborn person in many ways and I hope and pray that God won't give up on me, I'm trying to give Him my whole free will and I pray that He would remove my free will and take over my whole life, because I don't want to be this way... So I guess I'm still on my journey.

You are already taking the steps, little steps every single day. The bible says let us endure with our faith till the end. Our real home and treasure is in heaven. God bless you. You are loved you are precious. Jesus is longing for you.

The more you give your life to God, the more you try to live only for Him, the more and the greater your struggles will be because the enemy will send you the most numerous and most powerful evil spirits to hinder your close relationship with God. Consecrate yourself to Mary and pray the Rosary and many single Hail Marys everyday. Yes, renounce your own will completely, give and surrender your life to God through Mary and seek and do only His will for you. God bless you.

I find this amusing because this guy is your typical guy. In today’s world boys can’t be boys. Boys of course act out. Thank God this guy had the Holy Spirit with him. It looked like this guy was on his way to being a severe goth type, angry but committed. I can add: it’s almost a curse being a smart guy. I should look at myself as being more fortunate. You know, little bit dumb, handicapped . You know the obvious stuff where I know very well i ain’t got whatever it takes. So? The Holy Spirit never left me I must say. I still to this day regret I ain’t like my brothers and sisters with all these brains and physical qualities. Well, they well know all this and look out for me.
