    Yeah, the whole sex offender thing is just...it's a double whammy since who knows if they'd go back to their ways out in the general population, but they deserve close supervision, not "protection"

    • @TheRubinre
      @TheRubinre 6 років тому +7

      I did intensive studies on pedophiles in my undergrad. These offenders have the GREATEST chance to reoffend. They think like small children & just "want what they want".

    • @chrisw5953
      @chrisw5953 6 років тому +1

      Rachel Rubin where did you study?

    • @TheRubinre
      @TheRubinre 6 років тому +1

      Chris Wilson - I studied at Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh Pa. I met a professor there that inspired me with her love & knowledge of sociology. Do you feel like my comment/observation was inaccurate?

    • @chrisw5953
      @chrisw5953 6 років тому +1

      Rachel Rubin somewhat. The problem with sex offender laws , they are all in 1 category which not all sex offenders should fall into. Most are mentally unstable and child-like but to be honest majority just messed up when they were younger and had sex with a underaged person

    • @TheRubinre
      @TheRubinre 6 років тому +3

      Chris Wilson - I agree!! I know of 2 guys that were 22 that dated girls 16. The parents seemed to be fine at first, but then things went left quickly. The one guy even did 2+yrs. The other had huge legal fees, but the judge concluded he was indeed approved by the girl's parents. The sex offender list is a great frame of reference, but cannot tell the whole story. But once seeing that mark of death- ppl don't care- they've seen enough.

    Colma!!!! Born and raised! ( well, the Colma/ Daly City border.)
    There’s no tourism here because aside from some famous graves this is a boring suburban town. More people come to check out Auto Row.
    But we live pretty comfortably with our dead neighbors. The grounds are nicely tricked out, so it’s common to go right from visiting a dead relative to having a picnic on the benches next to the duck pond.

    Number 8: my birth town
    It's practically abandoned now, but back in the day, a father left his young kids home alone and wandered off with a handgun, intending to commit suicide. The two kids crossed the street and alerted the neighbors, who called the police, and luckily they found the man and deterred him from killing himself. After that the children were taken to live with their mother, and dad to a mental hospital. The house was left exactly as it was, they didn't take anything. To this day you can look through the windows and see their dusty toys and clothes on the floor. They even left their cats behind, locked inside, and tbh I don't know if they were ever rehomed, or just left to die in there, since I moved away. The neighbors died and everyone else I know of moved away, so yeah, it's a really creepy dead town now.

    Funny how polygamy is never depicted as one woman marrying a whole bunch of young guys. I'd be all for it if that's what it was, but instead it just has to be sexist specifically against women, doesn't it, and then we have to be "tolerant" and "accepting" of it.

    Sex offenders can not be rehabilitated. They can however learn to avoid situations and/or places where they could encounter potential victims but the OFFENDER must be willing to comply which is not likely. The only way to ensure they don't reoffend is to keep them away from any and all potential situations and possible victims. I think Isolating them after they are released from prison is necessary to protect the public but there is still no guarantee they won't reoffend. Most of them will reoffend over and over and over again..

  • @ingerrogers3146

    A pedophile is a phrase I don't like using, nor do I get off on condemning people for their crimes,. especially when they've paid their debt to society. Don't get me wrong, I do not condone a grown man or woman who believes sex with a child is appropriate. IT IS NOT! The only thing I would pray is that after doing their timed they would find someone their own age and keep their thoughts clean. It begins with self and ends with self. Just don't do it! Sex offenders have the right to live their lives the way they choose. However, an innocent child is not a part of the program. It's about keeping your thoughts clean. Peace out
