That wasn't just a seed. It arrived to bring you peace, love, beauty and reflection. It patiently stayed dancing and shining in its moment until your were ready to take its leave. You are not alone, and you are loved ❤
I know this is your personal grief and time of reflection Vanessa but thank you for sharing your poignant moments with us, it is an honour to be allowed to share these moments in the video and think kind thoughts for you ❤
I don’t know. The way that floating seed just hovered around for so long …… I say take it as any sign that brings you comfort. Personally, I thought it was truly magical ❤
It was so special to me. It stayed for such a long time but I edited it down. I’ll never forget how it made me feel. Thank you so much for watching. Take care 🦋🌻
Dear Vanessa, I think your video is the most moving and beautiful I have ever seen. Your drawing and poem… I haven’t the words to tell you how much I was moved. I am so sorry that you have lost your dear friend. That wonderful day you shared with us will always be a comfort to you. Bless you. 🌷💕
Vanessa thank you so much for sharing what your friend meant to you.❤. I know it cannot be easy carrying on, filming and doing what you had promised yourself to do. You found some very beautiful moments to share, and as always thank you for your care and attention to the wide world. A blessing, as always
Beautiful, wonderfully beautiful. Our loved ones never leave us, we just have to watch for them. Their love never ends. Your friend is reminding you of how important your work with nature is to everyone. You are a blessing.
When my beautiful sister Sandy passed away very young, I saw the brightest of stars in the night sky. I kept going out into the garden to catch a glimpse of her. That was 25 years ago, and I still see her in the night sky. I miss her dearly. Your friend will be in your heart for ever and ever. My deepest condolences to you. ❤️
I am so, so sorry to hear that you lost your beautiful sister so young. That is utterly heart breaking, Peter, but what a wonderful and powerful way to find her- in the night sky like that. Thank you so much for sharing this with me.Take care 🦋🌻
The sky always answers. When my sister lost her dog, three days later I lost my beautiful old spaniel too. I was so used to the routine of walking my old boy every morning that two days later I had to just go and walk at the same time that we used to. Just around the corner from my house, I looked up. In the sky, clear as you like, the clouds had formed into the heads of our two dogs, ears flying, mouths open, playing. I didn’t have my phone with me to capture it. But I can recall it to mind whenever I think of it, because it was so clear. It made me cry but I was so happy to see it - the sky was showing me that they were together again and watching over me. 💙
I am a believer in signs to show of a passed loved ones presence. The stunning sunset was Francesca's gift to you. After my dad passed away, mom and I saw the most vibrant rainbow we had ever seen and figured that it was his gift to us. Some people will think that this is strange. The seed was like an ethereal being floating through the duck hatch and then exploring your home. Thank you for sharing the beautiful villages you visit and the nature that surrounds you.
I have been looking for rainbows too because whenever the sun gave way to the rain, Francesca would always say "ooh, we might see a rainbow!" Your rainbow sounds like it was a special one and definitely a gift from your dad. Thank you so much for your lovely comment.Take care 🦋🌻
Thank you so much, Cathy. It suddenly made sense to me just as I released the seed and saw the beautiful display of birds in the sky; that if I wallowed in my sadness and kept looking inward, I wouldn't notice the beauty in the world and that beauty reminded me of my friend too. I will need to keep trying to let go of the sadness because that it going to take me a very long time, but letting go of the sadness won't mean that I let go of Francesca as there are so many wonderful reminders of her everywhere. Take care 🦋🌻
I’m so sorry for your loss. My daughter passed away last summer and just when I need her most one of her fave songs plays, or dragonflies and butterflies appear once in a while. I’ll even have a feather. It’s just been a year and I need those signs. Believe in them as they will help you because each day they are gone is one day. We are closer to being with them again.❤
I am so, so sorry to hear that your daughter passed away. There must surely be no greater pain than losing your child. Francesca lost her son when he was just a toddler and she set up a garden called Butterfly Meadow for other bereaved parents to visit in order to find some comfort in nature. She has helped so many to try and come to terms with their grief. The way that your daughter is still there for you in music, dragonflies, butterflies and feathers is truly beautiful.Thank you so much for such a kind comment. Take care 🌻🦋
@@themindfulnarrowboat Cemetery reflections for those who deserve to be remembered... (Greenwich Catholic Newsletter) British funerary monuments have always fascinated me. They tell us in part, both of the progress and failure of Christianity in the UK. By the early Victorian period, burials in London and all the major cities had become a significant health hazard and a public scandal. The historic church yards could no longer cope with the demands brought by the industrial revolution. Seven Magnificent Cemeteries were established on what was then the outskirts of London. First came Kensal Green (above) in 1833 then shortly; West Norwood, Highgate, Abney Park, Brompton, Nunhead & Tower Hamlets. They are still lovely contemplative places to visit. My own family has burials at Nunhead (on Dad’s side) & Highgate (on Mum’s side). I remember my Father’s Mother had a photograph above the fireplace, of a monument. It was an image of her first husband’s grave. Charles Ryan had a pub along the Old Kent Road called “The Magnet”. Long since gone, he died prematurely for uncertain reasons related to the “Great War”. It showed a grand stone column with a square capital on a pedestal beside a main thoroughfare. Sometime around 1992 my father and I went to find it. The image seemed so imposing it would surely be easy to find, but no sign of it. Only by applying to the office were we later able to discover the location. The column had disappeared but the kerbstones & inscription were still visible. It was concealed under decades of bramble & soil deposits. With garden tools we cleared the site, gradually revealing that all the fallen parts remained, embedded in the soil. That “great column" was little more than 5’ tall. Between us we were just about able to re-erect it complete with the capital. We scrubbed it down & cleaned it up and proudly stood to say a prayer for Charles & first wife Caroline: “God’s Finger touched her and she slept”. Years later I returned to investigate our handiwork… the entire thing had been removed. Perhaps it was deemed unsafe. At Kensal Green as a student I used to meander marvelling at the macabre mausoleums, for the once rich & famous but now long forgotten. IK Brunel is buried here. Having died a pauper, he lies under a simple stone in the grave of his father. Can you believe there is still a dividing wall between Catholic & Protestant burials? The division is broken down now but the contrast of images either side seems to betray some uncertainty across the way: Mary, Saints, Sacred Hearts, Crucifixes, Angels, Celtic Crosses abound on one side whereas, Broken Columns (a life cut short) Doused Flaming Torches (life extinguished) Draped Urns (Greek Antiquity) Egyptology (? - popular at the time) hopeless weeping figurines draped over the Rocks of Ages, very occasional plain crosses, strange fat Cherubs, Shaking Hands (farewell or reunions?) & Masonic symbols. Soon the outer parts of London had their own municipal cemeteries: Along Enfield Highway this poignant image cannot be avoided. It says more about whoever erected it than it does about the deceased. Somebody must have loved this woman very much… Olive Nora ZALA (a Slavic name) died on the day she gave birth aged 44 in Oct 1930; her Son Anthony followed 3 days later. There is no further inscription. 8’ tall, she has stood here serenely with her baby for 94 years. But who meanwhile will remember the mother’s, babies & children who are dying right now in Gaza 100 years from today? Maybe that’s Olive’s job or so she seems to say! “Rest Eternal Grant unto her O Lord…” Bazalgette
Hello Vanessa, I am saddened by your grief, it never goes away, you just learn to live with grief. I am currently loosing a friend to memory loss disease. He and his wife helped me through the loss of my wife 2 1/2 years ago. I am sitting back, relaxing, and enjoying life as God gives me each day. We must march on. Your East Coast USA Friend.
It seems that you have the best approach to managing such sadness. One of Francesca's daughters, who is my Goddaughter, leads by example as well and even though she is utterly devestated at losing her Mum, still says that she is so grateful for her life and never takes a day for granted anymore. It's inspirational.Thank you so much for watching. Take care 🌻🦋
The smallest thing can give us comfort when we most need it. When my grandmother died, one of my aunts was understandably very upset. She was talking to us about a butterfly broach that my grandmother used to wear, and as she was doing so, a live butterfly flew along and landed on her coat. It only stayed a few seconds before continuing on, but the sense of comfort and consolation it gave my aunt was palpable. Take care. xox
Oh my goodness, your story gave me goosebumps, how special that must have been and what a beautiful sign too!Thank you so much for such a kind comment. Take care 🌻🦋
Losing someone special is very difficult but as long as they are in your heart and thoughts they are still with you. I find your channel very serene and calming. Thank you
So Soothing. Five minutes admiring a sunset, five minutes watching a thistle seed floating in the air! The loss of a friend can be painful - but - in time the memories will bring joy. Hold on to the joy.
Vanessa often times the key to healing, be it from a physical condition or a mental challenge, is to continue doing what you enjoy doing the best. Only you can make that choice, nobody else. Be well, for the dusk always turns back to dawn. Allan, Columbia, South Carolina USA
In a world that's losing it's collective mind, your videos are such a blessing. All the things you show us, in nature, the quaint villages, things you spot on your walks... all of it is special. Whether you realize it or not Vanessa, you are a gift to all of us. The birds, the thistle seed, everything you saw around you... God is speaking to you, and letting you know... you have a purpose, and that's to show us the wonder and beauty of God's works, in the special way that only you can. That's priceless really, when you think about it. The beautiful sunset you featured at the beginning of this video was God's way of letting you know he has your friend, and all is well. Carry on.
Mark, you write so beautifully and I am so grateful to you for such a kind and heartfelt comment. The thought of God looking after Francesca is such a comfort. Thank you so, so much.Take care 🦋🌻
It is such a relief that you are back, if you will pardon my selfishness, Vanessa. Your videos, filming, voice,, drawings, poems, observations & presence are such a balm to my soul & spirit, always calming me & reminding me of what is sacred & beautiful. Im so sorry for your deep loss & sadness. Thankyou for your bravery & authenticity, as well as the beauty , peace & gifts you bring. Be gentle & extra kind with yourself.
My mum died last year, I feel her through many things most of all nature. It can be such a comfort. The scene with the seed head was stunning. Thank you x
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your mum. I hope you are ok? I feel so lucky, like you, to be so close to nature because I think I am going to find Francesca and Jenny there a lot. Thank you for your lovely comment.Take care 🦋🌻
Being back on your narrow boat gently cruising down the beautiful waterways in amongst the wildlife, and a huge mushroom in your kitchen is what your dear friend Francesca would have wanted for you Vanessa. Take care. 🌼♥️
I would just like to say I agree with other comments . It's nice to be somewhere quiet to reflect and recover from the loss of your best friend. Always in our hearts. Take care and stay safe. ATB to you and Zeph. 😊 X
I’m so sorry for your loss Vanessa. It’s hard to put into words the beauty, creativity of this vlog. You have the gift of captivating our hearts and minds providing us with escapism . You are so gifted in so many ways. Thankyou for sharing your journey. 🌅🤗❤
I'm so so sorry for your loss, Believe me when I say I know how you feel, Its sixteen months and nine days since my beautiful Christine went onto a better place she loved your pictures you take care oneday at a time, Its a along road ❤❤
I’m so sorry for your loss. I hope you find Christine is with you in some way when you need her? The thistle seed moment will stay with me forever. Thank you so much for your kindness Take care 🦋🌻
Mother Gaia has a way of reaching out to us when we need her the most. Time stood still for you when that seed entered your life, you were caught in the perfect moment. Our loved ones never truly leave us, whilst we hold them in our hearts and minds, they are always with us..pax et lux dear lady…Peter. Bristol. UK🙏🕉️🙏
Rewatching this one. My oldest dearest friend is in a care home for memory care. This video says all and shows all that I need for another day in this life of mine.
I’m so sorry to hear about the painful time you are in. I hope your friend is in good medical hands and that he/she is not suffering? Thinking of you- take care 🦋🌻
I also lost a very dear friend , way before her time , you have to live and enjoy every day because you owe it too your friend to do it in their memory , thank you for sharing and reminding us of the beauty and peace in simple things.❤️
I am so sorry to hear about your friend too. It is so hard to bear when it is so premature and unexpected like that isn't it? I hope you are ok? Thank you for your kind message. Take care 🦋🌻
I love all your blogs but this one is especially special as it shows you coming to terms with your loss, this blog and many others have helped me get through the loss of my dear wife of 46 years. Even our dog Alfie (westie) watches the wildlife and of course Zeph’s adventures. Keep up the good work Gerald and Alfie I am a good friend of Michael and India
Oh Gerald, I’m so, so sorry for your loss and the pain you must be feeling. There are no words that will make you feel better but I am pleased that you are finding some comfort in the vlogs. The messages that fill the comments section of this particular video are so helpful too. Alfie will be experiencing the loss in his own way so the fact you have each other is so special. I am thinking about you both. Take care x🌻🦋
Ah, as soon as I saw that magnificent sunset I felt it was Francesca, letting you know she's with you always, and to continue to do the things which being you great joy. It just felt like love.
@lrdisco2005 nope, you're sadly dead inside, lol. I don't know why, but I hope you heal, truly. You're kissing out in so much as you cling to anger and trauma.
Hi , another very thought full video , reminds me of being young and loosing some one who meant so much to me , running through the fields , grass up to ones shoulders and wild flowers every ware . When all is gone as the hay was cut . But next spring all was back and time had healed , and one remembers , what others had taught and gave you for life to go forward . Take care .
Oh I TRULY believe in 'Signs' & 'Messages sent to guide us. All friendships should be treasured but Girl Friendships are magical. Follow your heart, your dreams and your intuition. Embrace every day and just know that .........Francesca is with you, always. Much love & Best Wishes from Canada 🇨🇦
That beautiful thistle seed that floated into your boat, Me and my sister since children and now at 42 lol always called them Fairy's coming to visit, maybe a lost love one popping in to see you, silly I know, we also rescue them from cobwebs 😆 x And that peom, just beautiful 😍 x 👍
Francesca called them that too as one of her daughters told me recently. It made it even more special. Thank you so much for watching. Have a super week! Take care 🌻🦋
Dear Vanessa I want you to know that was the first vlog of yours that made me cry. I mean that in a good way. When you lose someone you love you can only hope they have gone to a better place. Thank you for making the world a better place to live. Steve
Sorry for your loss, dear Vanessa. Much love to you💞💞💞💞 That sunset is beautiful!! Such bright colors! No wonder it ends up in your book😍😍😍The dandelion fluff was very special indeed!! 😘😘😘😘
Thankyou for continuing to give us beautiful vlogs.I Will stand with you in yet another bereavement...we must all share each other's grief, in order to get through it all.Thankyou.Thinking of you.❤
your poem made me cry at the end 💕, that emotion couldn't have been worded better. I am so sorry for your loss, but in another time and place they are by our side, the seed is 'someone', checking in and bringing love. much love Vanessa x
Your poem about grief helped me with my own grief. Understanding the importance of cherishing, acknowledging the loss and pain and then coming to that place of realising you need to let it go.
@@themindfulnarrowboat yes it is hard. Mine is the loss of my health due to Long-covid, which has affected my dreams and relationships. A different reason for grief, but still grief. There has to come a point where you feel it ie the loss, acknowledge the blessing of what was, but to continue living you need to let go. Grief comes in waves, but slowly I am finding a way of emotionally moving forward.
Oh my goodness, I am so, so sorry for the loss of your friend like that. It is so hard to come to terms with isn't it? I hope you are finding some peace in nature and in the wonderful memories that you have.Take care 🦋🌻
Grieving is perhaps the most difficult journey we humans undertake. It is possible, necessary even, to live and experience beauty whilst knowing our life will never be the same again. We walk with ghosts and honour them. My condolences. Friendship, however cruelly abbreviated sometimes, is a true gift. Travel well.
Definitely a sign from the spirit world, watch out for feathers, robins. Certain songs that remind you of your dear friend 🙏 keep talking to her and about her, she will come close to when she's able too. Bless you Hun xx
I have been watching all your older videos and here you are in my present morning- I feel like you are right next door! I am so sorry for your loss - you have lost many friends - it isn’t right. The thistle was magical - thank you for including us and giving us such a lesson in letting go❤❤❤
Thank you so much for watching my older videos and still being here watching! Some of them require lots of patience with my editing and filming back then. I am so grateful to you for your kind words too.Take care 🦋🌻
My heart goes out to you as you deal with life's cruel losses. But you have no idea how your simple, yet profound words and photography heal our souls and inspire gratitude and lessons about nature and the soul. Zephyr helps so much. Thank you for sharing. That puff thing was a gift that so much was spiritual. Much love. Take care
Oh ! Vanessa. Your grieving and it can turn us upside down and inside out. Please give yourself time and take strength from your loved ones, including the lovely, perceptive Zeph, stood patiently watching in your hatchway ❤️
What a beautiful vlog, the spectacular sunset, the swallows, the seed (spirit). It never occurred to me that Christleton pond was an old quarry pit, but of course it is! I am so sorry for your loss of your lovely friend, and I am sending you a big virtual hug.
Thanks Vanessa for such a lovely film. I'm so sorry you've lost a dear friend. I lost my best friend of over 40 years a few years ago, just potter about on my motorcycle on my own now. Folk say you'll get over it in time, I'm not so sure about that. All you can do is hold on to happy memories and carry on. You have your family, the lovely Zeph, Mr. Mindful and majestic Alice Grace.......and, of course, all of us armchair cruisers thinking of you.
I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend, Chris. It sounds like you made some great motorcycle memories together. I don't think I will ever get over losing Francesca either, but I will hold on to all of the special times that we shared.Thank you so much for such a kind comment. Take care 🦋🌻
#204. The best episode I have ever seen. Full of stunning images and wonderful facts. A truly beautiful dedication to your friend Francesca . "Just moor up and go for an evening walk into the village." Perfect!.....take care as always.
I'm so very sorry for your loss. Losing a close friend is devastating but you're absolutely right, it changes your perspective and every day is blessing. I never took my life for granted either but when my friend died suddenly almost 2 years ago, it shifted everything. I reevaluated everything, where I lived, how I worked, relationships and redesigned them all. You always miss them but they leave us gifts.
I am an engineer, a nuts and bolts man, and not one of many words. I found your poem very touching and the last line about letting go very appropriate. In the future something will trigger fond memories of your departed friend. It happened to me recently when I saw a sail disappearing over the horizon and I thought of an old friend who passed on nearly 30 years ago. I am looking forward to your future adventures and glad you are back on your allotted course.
For a 'nuts and bolts man' you described the way the sail disappeared over the horizon in such a beautiful way.Thank you so much for such a kind comment. Take care 🌻🦋
I've been thinking of you all week...and missed your regular video.... lovely to have you back....be brave.. Francesca will never be far away, look at how she sent you the stunning sunset.Love and hugs from Walter cat and me xx
So moved by your introduction. I cried, for your friend Francesca and for you ...and maybe for my own lost beloveds ❤ thank you for inspiring and reviving connection with compassion and love and feelings in these times 🙏❤️
Your message from the seed and your poem in return was just so beautiful. Tears in my eyes and appreciation for all life ... and the letting go. Thank you for sharing, Vanessa. Even when you are in a deep transition, you express so much love. X
So Sorry for Your Loss She will watch over you now God Bless You You are So Talented and I Love Seeing you and Zef and All Your Adventures You are a Very Strong and Courageous Woman and Thank You For Sharing Your Life With Us God Bless You and Your Family And Friends Today and Every Day Of 2025 🦋🌻🌴🍀🕊️🙏🦚🌺🪻🎉😘
It's not just a sunset, it's a reminder that humans shouldn't be tied down to what society expects us to be. We are born free, we should remain free forever,
I’m really sorry to hear today about your dear friend Francesca, my namesake. I understand what you’re saying about that very special sunset.and the seed that flew in, strange isn’t it, but again special. I’m really pleased you’re continuing with your UA-cam channel as it’s really relaxing to watch and very good!🙂 Take care, Fran x🐾
This video brought tears to my eyes. Your friend's love of sunsets reminds me so much of a friend of mine. We went to High School together, but seldom spoke. She already had a boyfriend, and I was a loner. We reconnected on our 40 High School reunion. She is still married to her High School boyfriend, and I am still married to the woman that made the mistake of dating me twice. I now live 500 miles away from my friend, and she regularly sends me sunset photos from the walks she takes on her farm and trips she takes with her husband. Seeing the films of the sunset on your way back to the boat, and knowing why you were away from the boat, affected my tear ducts more than it should have for a 63 year old man. While we have never met, I hope that you can find some comfort in those that follow your programs. You have come close enough via your mindful program that, in an unusual way, you are closer than just a picture on the TV screen. In a small way, I could feel that you were hurting; and that brought up some emotions in me. I know that you will never completely get over the loss of your friends. But I hope that you realize that they may still be with you, only in a dimension that you cannot see. True love and friendship are not easily defeated by death.
What a beautiful comment, Kenneth- thank you so much for your kind words. I really do find comfort in reading comments like yours. Your wife didn't make a mistake in dating you as you sound so kind and in touch with your emotions.Take care 🦋🌻
I am so pleased that you enjoy my book when you are listening to the birds with a cup of tea. That makes me so happy to know that. Thank you so much. Take care 🦋🌻
In so sorry to hear of your loss Vanessa, that was such a beautiful poem and drawing. The sunset and the floating seed were certainly your friend letting you know that she will always be there for you in spirit. Take care and look after yourself, nature can truly help to heal our broken hearts xx😢
I'm so sorry to hear the loss of a dear friend. That sunset was from her to let you know she will always be with you, and I hope you will find peace, love & happiness once again. Remember all the good times you shared together. Hugs
@@themindfulnarrowboat I must say that you are so kind in always replying to everyone, with all the comments I see I think you are one amazing lady with a big heart. You are so loved by all here.
Dearest Vanessa, thank you so much for this latest video, I lost my beautiful wife this past March, your insightful feelings and outlook on life has given me new hope. Thank you
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your wife, John. I really hope that you are finding comfort in the beautiful memories that you shared?Thank you so much for such a kind comment. Take care 🌻🦋
Hi Vanessa - think you are adorable. So sorry for your loss. Your videos are so uplifting educational and just…..real. Love your poems and art. I so look forward to your uploads. Thinking of you 🙏🏻💕🥰🐶
Hi Vanessa, just discovered your channel, and so grateful to have done. The Thistle seed moment was so captivating and serene like time almost standing still. I really wasn't expecting you to pull out your beautiful journal and make a wonderful entry dedicated to that moment. Clearly you are full of empathy ffor this world, this life, this fragille journey we are on. I've subscribed and shall follow your lovely channel. This was posted on my 65tth birthday last year ! ❤
The sunset and the seed. So beautiful and the way the seed suspended there. At first I thought the fan was on bumping it but when I noticed that it wasn’t it brought a tear to my eye. I think she’s happy that you are back in your element ❤️ I remember when I lost my sister, I noticed at her funeral that a pigeon sat perfectly still on a gravestone a couple rows behind her resting place and it stayed there right until they started lowering the casket into the ground. I knew then that she wanted to see us all together at that moment. May you continue to find the comforts and little signs in your journey through this difficult time ❤️
That is such a beautiful story of the way the pigeon watched you all and sat like that until the casket was lowered? I am so sorry for the loss of your sister. Thank you so much for such a kind comment. Take care 🌻🦋
Oh my heart, this is one of your most beautiful episodes. And that seed? For me, when seeds appear like that, it's a messenger - they always arrive at times of need/questioning/heart-opening. I swear, this is so synchronous - it is Spring here (not officially but it has arrived all the same) and we have a pair of Welcome Swallows building a nest under our verandah roof!!!
Vanessa, I am so very sorry for the loss of your close friend, Francesca. I hope when you reflect upon her in the upcoming days ahead, you will find both joy and peace within her memory. This vlog was bittersweet, but it was also so poignant, the floating thistle seed was not lost on any of us. May God bless and comfort you in this time.
It was a moment that brought me great comfort and I will never forget it. Thank you for your kindness. I’m thinking of you too as you manage your heartache. Take care 🌻🦋
I am so happy to have discovered your lovely vlogs. This one is particularly poignant and I can only concur with the lovely thoughts and comments people have made. We recently lost our mum, aged 92, and I am discovering for the first time what its like to lose somone close. To lose a friend so much younger in years is a different thing altogether and you have done a beautiful job of honouring her memory here with your gentle observations and recognition of divine comfort sent in the sunsets, the seed and the swallows. Thanks and may God continue to bless you as you bless others through your journeyings and recordings thereof. A special pat for Zephyr..she's awesome.😍
We are in our 80s and have lost many of our long time friends we are sorry for the loss of your close friend remember you have your memories and every day here is a bonus enjoy every day with your partner Best Wishes ❤
It must be so hard to keep saying goodbye to your friends like that. I hope you are still able to enjoy the memories that you must have all shared together.Thank you so much for watching and commenting. Take care 🌻🦋
Such peaceful settings, we had a house in France with a swimming pool and we regularly got entertained by 30 or so swallows diving into the water for a drink, we have it on video and watch now and again
A really beautiful tribute to your friend. A time to reflect. Once again, thank you so much for sharing with us your loyal viewers, all of the aspects of life on a narrowboat, and your beautiful Sketches. Take care.
What a lovely tribute to your friend! I’m so sorry for your loss. The seed was so beautiful and delicate and I loved how it stayed and danced around. I was thinking how you could keep it, but was so happy when you let it go to do what it was meant to do. The poem was so lovely and moving. Thank you for sharing.
I really think all those moments , the sunset; the fluffy seed and the birds were all for you to remind you that you are never truly alone and thoses we loved are always amongst us. Xxxx
Hi Lydia, thank you so much for such a beautiful comment. I really felt so comforted by those signs in nature and I am so grateful that I experienced them.Take care 🦋🌻
Watching this lovely video brings back memories of my mother. She died when I was in my 20's - I am now in my 60's, but still think about her. Her dream was to take a canal boat holiday, as she loved watching the narrowboats when she was evacuated during the war, and was near Leamington Spa. Unfortunately she could never quite afford it - but I still think about narrowboats, and want to have a holiday on one some day! Try not to be too sad for the loss of your friend - those that have moved on would want us to be happy for the time we spent together, and for the love and laughter we shared with each other! But I do know that we will shed the occasional unseen tear for them when we are alone... 😢
That must have been so hard losing your Mum at such a young age. I hope you get to have a narrowboat holiday one day so that you can live out your mum's dream for her.Thank you so much for such a kind comment. Take care 🌻🦋
So sorry for your loss. We adults know this is a part of life. We don't like it. But I believe that new life emerges - just as a seed must die for a new plant to sprout. We are only capable of mourning and moving on - we have no other choice. Death reminds us to live on as our time is coming too. Good choice to get back to the familiarity and serenity of the boat. Bless you as you move forward with your other best friend - Zephyr.
That wasn't just a seed. It arrived to bring you peace, love, beauty and reflection. It patiently stayed dancing and shining in its moment until your were ready to take its leave. You are not alone, and you are loved ❤
That is such a kind and lovely comment. Thank you so much.Take care 🦋🌻
I know this is your personal grief and time of reflection Vanessa but thank you for sharing your poignant moments with us, it is an honour to be allowed to share these moments in the video and think kind thoughts for you ❤
You are so welcome. Thank you so much.Take care 🦋🌻
Nature always talks to us if we have eyes to see,and ears to hear❤
Exactly 👍 Thank you so much for watching. Take care 🦋🌻
They come to us when we need them most. She was giving you a beautiful sunset to let you know you she is always with you.
I believe that too. Thank you so much.Take care 🦋🌻
Thank you so much for sharing in such a beautiful way your very personal journey. Particularly loved your poem.
Hi van. Do you meet people on the canal and in the villages. Make friends etc
What a load of tosh .. It’s a Sunset nothing more. It happens every day.
@daidavies6210 How demeaning! She has just lost her companion, best friend and you post a comment like that. Disrespectful & disgusting!!
Dear Vanessa, I think your video is the most moving and beautiful I have ever seen. Your drawing and poem… I haven’t the words to tell you how much I was moved. I am so sorry that you have lost your dear friend. That wonderful day you shared with us will always be a comfort to you. Bless you. 🌷💕
Thank you so much, Marjorie for such thoughtfulness and kindness.Take care 🦋🌻
Vanessa thank you so much for sharing what your friend meant to you.❤. I know it cannot be easy carrying on, filming and doing what you had promised yourself to do. You found some very beautiful moments to share, and as always thank you for your care and attention to the wide world. A blessing, as always
Beautiful, wonderfully beautiful.
Our loved ones never leave us, we just have to watch for them. Their love never ends.
Your friend is reminding you of how important your work with nature is to everyone. You are a blessing.
That is such a kind comment. Thank you so much. Take care 🦋🌻
Beautifully put and I wholeheartedly agree.
Yes they do. They died.
If ever I saw some one in their rightful place(for now😅) it's you and what you give out from there is a blessing for so many of us. Thank you❤
That is so kind. Thank you so much ☺️ Take care 🌻🦋
That was so beautiful and I loved your words: "new life only starts to grow when you are ready to let go"
Thank you so much, Cathy.
@@themindfulnarrowboat So beautifully stated…You are our gift and your friend was yours…

Cemetery reflections for those who deserve to be remembered...
(Greenwich Catholic Newsletter)
British funerary monuments have always fascinated me.
“Rest Eternal Grant unto her O Lord…”
Bazalgette
And fill her soul with splendor, Amen🙏
Don't try and find connections in a sequence of random events in nature. Rather face up to the death of your loved one and get on with life.
Losing someone special is very difficult but as long as they are in your heart and thoughts they are still with you. I find your channel very serene and calming. Thank you
That is very true.Thank you so much.Take care 🌻🦋
So Soothing. Five minutes admiring a sunset, five minutes watching a thistle seed floating in the air! The loss of a friend can be painful - but - in time the memories will bring joy. Hold on to the joy.
Thank you so much for such a kind comment. Take care 🦋🌻
Vanessa often times the key to healing, be it from a physical condition or a mental challenge, is to continue doing what you enjoy doing the best. Only you can make that choice, nobody else.
Be well, for the dusk always turns back to dawn.

@@themindfulnarrowboat yes it is hard. Mine is the loss of my health due to Long-covid, which has affected my dreams and relationships. A different reason for grief, but still grief.

Happy belated 65th birthday, Scott. Thank you so much for your kind comment. Take care 🦋🌻

Thank you so much for such a kind comment. How wonderful to have nesting swallows with you too! Take care 🌻🦋
What a beautiful thought for you - missing someone you loved they are still with you ❤
Thank you, Pamela.

I am so sorry for your loss. Thank you so much for your kind words; it means a lot. Take care 🦋🌻

Such peaceful settings, we had a house in France with a swimming pool and we regularly got entertained by 30 or so swallows diving into the water for a drink, we have it on video and watch now and again
That must have been wonderful to share the pool with so many swallows! Thank you so much for your lovely comment. Take care 🦋🌻
A really beautiful tribute to your friend. A time to reflect. Once again, thank you so much for sharing with us your loyal viewers, all of the aspects of life on a narrowboat, and your beautiful Sketches.

Thank you so much for your kind comment- Monica. I wanted to keep the seed too, but then I thought- how will it germinate? Take care 🦋🌻

I'm so sorry for your loss Vanessa 🫂
Thank you so much for your kindness. Take care 🌻🦋
SO VERY TRUE👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Such wise words- thank you so much for sharing them. It means a lot. Take care 🦋🌻
I agree 🌻🦋
