Write your goal on a piece of paper and read it first thing in the morning when you wake up, read it again before you eat lunch, and read it as the last thing before you got to sleep. Sometimes this method makes you find the answers to accomplishing your goal in your dreams. It also helps you stay focused on your goal.
better help exploits therapists and doesn’t allow them to actually do therapy. all for accessibility but this ain’t it. they hound therapists to work for them for little pay. i finally had to block them from contacting me. source: me, a therapist.
This peaked my interest until you mentioned Tony Robbins.... especially after doing a commercial for therapy! That man is horrible!!!!! He publicly attacked a sexual abuse survivor and was brought up on many charges of sexual harassment. He insulted women who rose up during the #metoo movement as playing "victims" so they could get attention. GRRRRRRR.
I’m delighted to find another Tony Robbins/GTD person out there! Between the two, they got me through a PhD program (with honors), helped me lead my family through my 5 year old’s cancer, saved my marriage, and basically changed my life.
Amy, your video is both enlightening and relatable. What inspired you to dive into the topic of powerful decision-making and life-changing choices? Any personal experiences that motivated you to explore this area?
I really enjoyed this video! The speaker made some great points about the importance of making decisions and aligning your beliefs with your desires. I also liked the example she used about financial freedom. It was a helpful way to understand how to use pain and pleasure to create a conviction. Thanks for sharing!
This is true: "When you are open enough for an idea to challenge your beliefs & to work with that possibility, that is when life changing happens." In reality, the fear of shaking our comfort zones holding us back to attract the opportunities that are really meant for us. Thank you for sharing such an inspirational & motivational video!
Amy I'm a big fan of yours for years and I love this new style of videos you're making. But please don't speed up the videos, your cadence of talking is really perfect without it. Maybe it's just me but sped up videos make me feel uneasy.
Long term follower here. Usually your videos are a breath of fresh air for your really authentic voice and unique take in the self-help/productivity area. I enjoy your content because you're carefully toeing the line between unrealistic standards of productivity pushed by regular self-help gurus, your advice tends to be spot on and actionable for normal folks. This video really missed the mark on the values I thought your brand had. Both on the sponsor and the Tony Robins' advice. Yes, just because he's a problematic figure doesn't mean all his ideas are bad, but I think there's no need to repackage them in your content. Your own ideas stand on their own. I very much prefer to hear what Amy herself has to say. I also think the concept presented in the video could have done with a lot more digging. Yes changing our beliefs matters because our beliefs shape our reality but there's a lot more layers that come into play, especially for financial freedom. Just acknowledging our own privilege when it comes to this, and the reality of the current economic times. It would be interesting to see future content about achieving our goals/dreams with advice that is not solely "cognitive" as in thinking ourselves to our goals or organization based (it feels overwhelming if you struggle with executive dysfunction). I find that barriers to "getting the life you want" are often more emotional/somatic (and of course systemic as well).
Me, watching Amy talk for the first time after listening to good morning good life on audiobook every year since 2020 and having a completely different mental picture of her: 👁️👄👁️
I love this! These are really relatable examples, I definitely read and think about certain goals endlessly, and then never take action toward them. Thank you for sharing!
oh my i do this also. so happens my son said this to me this morning. his question was mom you talk about your goals a lot. do you ever act on any of them. I have not.
I’m new here. I love that you explain and that you journal and write things out! That is very important to me and helpful. I feel very empowered after watching ! Thanks ! Much love from me 🫂🤗
I love this video for the idea that the underlying core references of pain and pleasure are often ignored. This in turn leads to decision fatigue not having that direct goal with underlying convictions. Good point made. “No fighting”

I saw you are using Notion too, i’m obsessed, will you do a video about it? Will you do a template? 😍😍
Connect pain with the behavior you want to stop and pleasure with the behavior you want to start.
