The genius of this scene is that there isn't a single character witnessing this who would ordinarily respond to conceptual art, but every one of them was moved. I am literally crying right now.
Genius creators Joshua Brand and John Falsey. John Falsey sadly passed away with just 67 in 2019 and Joshua Brand went on to take part in the equally genius and equally underrated show "The Americans".
Help me out, comment section. I have a childhood memory of a Northern Exposure episode where they found two severed hands and tried to determine who they belonged to. Later on, they discovered that both hands were right hands, and so they must belong to two seperate people. Was this a genuine Northern Exposure episode, or did I merge it with something else?
This scene reminds me that nowadays the stupidest thing in the world, when the crowd automatically raises their phones and they record the same thing thousand times...Why? Do we really need to record a single event a thousand times? A competent cameraman would be more than enough, and the audience could 100% enjoy what they hear or see. people keep stepping out of moments because of their mania for recording, or they are already acting because they think that if they don't record something every day, then their lives are no longer meaningful...it's pathetic.
Everyone is in the moment......not behind the screen of a stupid mobile phone! Wonderful, wonderful series. I will have to rewatch it one of these days
Wow, complain about the spectacle, then create one. I mean i guess americans just love the spectacle of high powered destruction. I don't know if i would personally call that art.
"It's not the thing you fling. It's the fling itself." -- God I miss Northern Exposure!!
One of the most intelligent series in the history.
What? Better than the Apprentice? noo
The writer's of this show were GENIUS
Absolutely right, and the casting was exceptional as well.

John Corbett hasn't been this cool since 1992.
This scene inspired the Ladykillers to write a track called 'Northern Exposure'
