Seriously how much would you pay for a feature like this in your own personal car that can pretty much clean itself?
honestly, this is a absolute GAME CHANGER I’m sold.
No kidding, definite game changer!
But will it clean up crumbs and debris, or will it just sanitize?
Seems like that would be a big oversight if there weren’t any vacuuming involved
@@heyJohnEe I find it though to imagine that a vacuum system can be installed in a car. Maybe some vents on the sides of the doors🤷😀
@arjunshiralkar4668 maybe the ventilated seats can suck stuff through the perforation? 😂
@@heyJohnEe 😂Good idea!
One big issue is they need to rapidly deploy wireless charging at their charging sites. Without it, who will plug in their robotaxi? People at their service center? It would be great to get new wireless charging along city streets too.
You have a great point there. And yeah it seems like they’ve recently partnered up for a wireless charging mats, although maybe super inefficient
@@heyJohnEe according to witricity it's actually 95 percent efficient. So really looking forward to it asap. I hope they offer retrofits for older cars.
@TheLobo91 hopefully that’s the case, 95% is not bad
John, autonomous driving still requires regulatory approval along with the ability to wirelessly charge vehicles and arrange for cleaning between users. Aug 8 is just another reveal, and we are far from the actual implementation of this service. Plans for automatic cleaning are interesting, but Tesla has struggled for years with something as simple as automatic windshield wipers that other brands solved years ago.
Hopefully they have that all covered during this event, but yes those areas definitely need to be work before the actual service is up and running smoothly
@heyJohnEe I hope so also, John, but regulatory approval is a major obstacle that will delay the entire process, and passengers also have to be comfortable with the fact that no driver is available to take over if and when something goes wrong
@jamespaul2587 agreed. Waymo paved the way for regulators, so it’ll be easier for every other company including Tesla
@heyJohnEe Yes, let's hope so, John. However, Waymo is a geofenced system, and Tesla is working on a general autonomous solution that may be more challenging for regulatory approval. I think we will see approval in time, however it will not arrive as quickly as Elon and many fans think.
@jamespaul2587 very true. Fingers crossed 🤞
I doubt that Tesla will get approval for this anytime soon. Is Tesla trying to displace working people making a living by driving for Lyft or Uber? Until all the social thing is worked out, what is Robotaxi trying to solve?
You got a point, but yeah if Tesla doesn’t do it some other company will. It’s a race at this point
