And it hsas also more sense than launching with a Mario Kart. Mario Kart titles sell way more thatn Mario3d titles, they better spare it for later.

Sometimes I think Nintendo actually wants things to leak as that generates way more conversation about their products online than if nobody knew before they announced. It would be a pretty smart business strategy, actually.
I don't see this as any reason for them to announce any earlier than planned. The system will need to stand on its own two feet regardless of leaks/rumors etc.
@commonwealthrealm the T239 should be ray tracing capable, and it very likely supports Nvidia ray reconstruction (an AI powered version of ray tracing that reduces the cost) so it should be quite capable in that respect, likely beating the Series S on paper but I suspect the system won't have the resources to use the feature regularly.
this is why digital foundry and the like release their DLSS videos at full resolution separate from youtube. don't expect that you can see anything on a scaled down image that was further compressed by youtube.
@CalvinCarlo nice to feel I'm not the only one. I'm sure it's good and makes a difference because people know this stuff more. But I'd have to see the comparison in life 😄
wait what if the C button pauses what's running & opens a "custom" drop menu overlay that allows you to access many options like communications, graphical modes, and anything else that would need a dedicated button?
Except that steam deck does it. And it's great. Very nice having instant access to scaling options, controller connections, power options, etc.@@jbubal
The Steam Controller uses Bluetooth which totally replaces the need for desktop mouse. Steam Controller is more accurate and easier to use than desktop mouse. (Many are now waiting for Steam Controller 2) This idea Joy-Cons will be used as desktop mouse using optical light, by its design suggests totally different function. It looks like optical beam is for, in the air mouse, similar to light Pen, or light Gun. (used as Wii remote motion pointer and other functions) Joy-Cons used with Bluetooth using analog sticks, or Joy-Cons put into accessory controller with Steam Deck style touch-pads would give better mouse control. The Optical beam could also work as real time analog non line of sight pointer, in 3D space. Using Gyro sensor, Bluetooth, Optical beam, all working at the same time.
I wonder if the dock is going to add an external GPU. Steam deck has a 15 watt APU with 45 watt power supply, so 65 watt power supply gives an extra 15 watts for the dock to have an external GPU. Just a little boost for 4k.
I’ll eat a hat if there is an external GPU, it introduces so many problems, not to mention cost. What makes sense is active cooling in the dock that allows the S2 to operate above thermal constraints. Temperature & battery life are the bottlenecks, not compute.
Narrow mouse that tilts with every left/right movement, that uses the LEFT joycon, hast completely awkward button placement and is probably an ergonomic nightmare. Not to mention that you likely have no suitable flat surface on your couch or on the go. People who believe this is used for anything more extensive than Wario Ware style minigames - you‘re delusional.
It would be better if it came with a cradle holder like the Legion Go. Here's to hoping as I would love to use it on company of heroes. Also, have they confirmed it's only the left joy con?
Bruh I don’t get the hate with the name it was perfectly fine it’s what we were all calling it before it was even a thing I think you’re just pissy about the logo
Why don't they just have the handheld console be the same size as the Lite and plug into the main console, like a 64 cartridge? Bonus: Make the handheld part, minus the joycons, foldable, like a DS, to protect the screen from damage. We have foldable smartphones now.
I still can't believe they're staying in the hybrid console scene after it got crowded with competitors. This just isn't the way Nintendo operates. Either they're going through a massive change to their business strategy, abandoning Iwata's "blue ocean" strategy... or someone is making some seriously bad decisions.
The space got crowded because people love this form factor. It’s a very good business decision not to fix what isn’t broken. There are still small innovations for gameplay styles with the new joycons, but after the Wii U disaster they’re not going to risk it all for a gimmick that gets in the way again. If the Switch had flopped as badly as its predecessor, they wouldn’t even be releasing another console at this point.
@@mildhoof The switch was still a major shift with all new gimmicks from the Wii U. Doubling down on the screen-controller concept, joycons, full portability. No Nintendo system has been a direct imitation of a previous system, every single one has added a significant gimmick, and usually those gimmicks become permanent features of the gaming industry, copied by all competitors, while Nintendo stays ahead of the curve moving on to the next gimmick. The only real exception to this was Gamecube, which offered no new significant gimmick that wasn't already available elsewhere, and it was decidedly a failed console, getting thoroughly spanked by the PS2. If they just release a "Switch but better" into a pool of competitors that are ALREADY "Switches but better", they're going to have another Gamecube situation on their hands, where they'll fail purely because they can't get enough market share.
My only hope is that Nintendo reveals the Switch 2 before their new Games leak...

Plot twist: the Switch 3 will be what the Playstation Portal is now.
I wonder if it would have ray tracing support

I’m so sick of AI features I honestly hope not
there is way too much stock taken in that mouse leak, could just be a sensor for more accurate gyro
I hope that I can still use a normal mouse, like with GBG on the Switch 1.
I hope it ain't me or my eyes but that DLSS bit of the video. I could not tell the difference between the 4 different images

The most funny part is the animation where nintendo is at the top of the pyramid and under them Samsung and Nvidia.

I'm still not sure about this.
Ok, so how exactly does this change everything?
If switch comes with DLSS 4.0 that would be a game changer allowing it to punch way past its weight class
No way , probably 3.5 but still good
but where do the rumors come from that switch can use dlss 3.5 or even 4? There has always been talk of dlss 2.2 for switch 2
