Be aware that 500$ in Europe usually is more expensive than the actually US price since we tend to have both higher prices as well as tax already included. For an easy comparison on that check the German apple websites prices against the US websites prices. For the Mac mini in the us you look at 599$ while in germany it is 699€ (720USD). So if any claim of a switch successor being 500$ in the EU would turn out to be true it would probably be 399$ in the us. Also GameStop is not being closed down quietly. They are shutting down pretty much all of Europe all at once right now.
A swedish retailer started taking preorders for PS5 2 years before it was released at a $1200 price point with the promise of returning the difference of the actual retail price once it was revealed.
As someone who works at GameStop, that picture is 100% what our system looks like. Down to the games that are currently on the front page of our POS. Unless this is a great photoshop, that pic is legit
My second guess since my first guess was wrong has always been around April to May of this year because it’s similar to what the original switched did coming out in March
Take a look at the item numbers in the end. Game stop has already more Switch2 items in their database. you have 2 items with a 5 in the end. a 90. and a 91. So there should be ATLEAST 6 more.
I agree with your assessments about adding accessories or games too early. However, I also still have an Amazon preorder for Metroid Prime 4 open dated 23rd June 2017.
@@kuroshiro3267 That's copium. You're watching a channel that usually tries to calm down so much Nintendo fanboyism. It's disappointing to see RGT (and most of the Nintendo community) not question the legitimacy of all this. Does no one remember the Grinch Leak ffs? Keep your expectations low.
This guy is always 5 steps behind, we've known about this Micro SD Express thing for weeks 😂. Here are some actual Switch 2 news: Red Dead Redemption 2 and Tekken 8 have leaked for it and Nintendo commented on all the Genki leaks and said they we're "unofficial", but didn't say they were false.
This was leaked/confirmed yesterday lol. Before that, it was a rumor (well the motherboard leak also seemed to point to it, but still). I think its important to report on the events that take these things from speculation to highly-likely.
Wonder if Nintendo will change the snapping sound they have associated the console with since the new console does not have the rails and will make that sound anymore.
The odd thing is that there are no sku’s for the actual switch 2. Only sku’s for non Nintendo company products. I am starting to think there is a problem with the switch 2 on a UI level that they are trying to fix that is causing all the delays. Then just have a patch on day one
I honestly believe the reveal will happen very soon because Super Mario Bros 40th anniversary is coming up...they will either announce the new switch on its birthdate by September or in Mar10 day. Either way, the new switch news is anticipated.
For the Americans: European prices are higher because all prices here are shown with VAT/sales tax. As far as I know, in the US all prices are shown without any taxes. With VAT being between 17% and 25% (depending on the EU country), the pricing rumor could easily be correct. That would still make the Switch 2 about 400 dollars in the US.
I can confirm this GameStop info is true and legitimate. I was a GameStop manager for sometime these type of skus must release within the quarter or upcoming quarter. I wouldn't be surprised if the manager already got a switch 2 hidden sku.
Just wanted to say, i can't believe you thought it would be in the fall. They specifically said if you understand their language that it would be closer to the beginning. I'm saying it will probably be March.
@@stormyandcold Wild idea, what if its March 3rd with MK9 to celebrate Switch 1 release day 8 years ago and then Mario Kingdom (open world/interconnected mario between kingdoms) on March 10/MAR10 day?

The only way I would pay $500 for a Switch 2; is if it has an OLED screen and more built in storage, in addition to all the other features that we know it has. If not; then $400 is max I would pay for a non OLED screen.
Just a wild stab in the dark at the timetable, Last week of January reveal, 2nd week of April release. I was of the opinion to start with that If they revealed the system in the last week of December or first week of January we might see them try to copy the first week of March release like the OG Switch, but this late into January I can't see them holding to that schedule. I think 2nd week of April gives around the same gap between reveal and release (February is a shorter month)and as ramped up as all the leaks and accessory postings are getting, I'm also of the mindset that it can't be too far away. They wouldn't put this stuff out there 6 months in advance.
If you convert the European price to USD, you're doing it wrong. Normally just replace the currency identifier to $ and you should be closer to the mark.
When I first heard about the new Switch 2 addition that now utilizes these brand new MicroSD Express cards, it got me very excited! 1,969 megabytes per second (MB/s) and write speeds of around 950 MB/s is insane. The current Switch only has a MicroSD card expansion slot that are only using the 100 Write and 90 Read speeds. The current Nintendo Switch cartridges are about 60 to 95 transfer speeds. So, with this new MicroSD Express technology in the Switch 2, I'm assuming that the Nintendo Switch 2 cartridges are going to have to incorporate these newer and faster transfer speeds to match the new MicroSD Express speeds as well. Now, what will be very interesting is if Nintendo allows games to be completely installed into the Switch 2's internal SSD, that I'm also assuming will come with those Mini M.2 SSD's, like we see in the Steam Deck and other handhelds that are significantly faster than the new MicroSD Express cards with M.2's clocking in at 5000mb/s to 7000mb's Read/Write speeds. Which is insane. Unfortunately, I doubt Nintendo will allow fully installed games onto the Switch 2's internal SSD, based on rumors that the Switch 2 will comes with only 256mb's of storage. Or, those are rumors and the Switch 2 does in-fact offer much more storage. Could the internal Switch 256mb SSD be M.2? Possibly, but with the newer 3rd party console games of today, they require tons of storage for the incredible amounts of data these games have. All I know is that with the addition of this new MicroSD Express expansion card tech, Nintendo's new Switch 2 cartridges will have to be updated to also match the MicroSD Express speeds, for more demanding games that are required for the next generation of games. Loading speeds are going to be crazy. Backwards compatible Switch games might not load in as fast, unless Nintendo allows those backward compatible cartridge games to be installed onto the internal Switch 2 SSD. The older Switch cartridges aren't going to magically become faster based on old Switch cartridge speed technology. It would require our games fully installed onto the internal Switch SSD to be able to utilize those upgraded new speeds. I really hope Nintendo does allow Switch 1 games on cartridges to be fully installed, because the loading times would be massive. Imagine fast traveling in Zelda Breath of the Wild, or Tears of the Kingdom. With these faster speeds, we are talking just about ZERO loading screens. You would fast travel in Zelda and it would be instant. But again, this will have to be Nintendo's call for full installation of backwards compatible games for this to work. As long as the game cartridge is installed, they could offer backwards compatible games to be installed and running at these next-gen incredible speeds. We will have to wait and see... Just my 2 cents on the matter. Great video dude as always. You're always making me think, which is what I like about you. - Cheers!
I predict that we will see the following: NSW2 Commercial in January Second - multiple Super Bowl Spots (Sabrina Carpenter and Pharrell Williams) Third - Nintendo Direct in February following the Super Bowl I was really hoping the largest NSW2 would have allowed for a m2 SSD slot since third party games are going to get so large. Then we would have the fast transfer speeds a with the larger capacity.
But literally why would they need to use the more expensive Express Micro-SD cards unless to basically force the user into using those to make profit which to me would be a bad idea? We already know that running games off of a standard Micro-SD card works just fine on multiple systems and multiple operating systems ....

I’ve said that it would revealed on one of three dates in January. The 8th, 15th or 23rd. The 8th has already passed.
How do you figure that. The switch was sold at 399 even tho its hardware was ancient even at release. It will be $499
The original Switch was officially $300 for the entire generation. There have been special holiday bundles however such as coming with Mario Kart 8
