I never said they didn't sound good and every musician knows being able to play a coherent piece of music is the ultimate goal, BUT when it comes to a battle, intensity plays a MAJOR role. Not only does Jackson sound great, they have power behind their sound. That power is important! You can play "hot cross buns" as perfect as you want, but when JSU role up BLOWIN' nobody is going to remember how good you played.

However, I don’t base battles off who’s the loudest because the band with more instruments should always win that🤷🏽♂️ I preferred Asu’s Song selection, musicality and execution here. Being that they are significant smaller, they approach this battle strategically in my opinion. I just glad to see a lot of musicians acknowledging that. Bama went through the loud stage so we won the battle before to, so I get where you are coming from. I just hope they continue in this direction even with size.
As a former MMH, I’m very disappointed in the direction of the band..We’re shrinking every year...We need new direction...JSU Killed...The Stingettes are the best part of the band..smh

Ok so this may be an unpopular opinion but just my thoughts. Alabama State sounds great this year. Arrangements are Nice, execution is Crispy. ASU just simply lack the numbers of a JSU, SU, PV, or even Miles or AAMU. This is the best I have heard them in years. Still JSU with the W tho.

JSU Tubas are starved every week before game day And I think Bama State had flashbacks to that Mo Bamba from last year, they were ready to call off Jamaican Funk again 🤣🤣🤣
Kevin Baylor you give SU 30 tubas and they’ll still sound like ducks even without the fiberglass. JSU tubas trained hard and long to sound the way they do.
