Just my opinion. Bama State just taught JSU a lesson. It's never good to overpower the Melody. That's something JSU use to believe in. And it's refreshing to hear a band play like that today. That's why everybody giving ASU the dub. #trumpetsectionsmatter

ASU arrangements have always been top tier for me even when they was sounding bad a few years backs I always loved their arrangements. Especially My life I just love the brass execution to the song over JSU.

ASU sound has improved drastically. Well balanced as well. They did at least put up a fight. JSU's arrangements and energy are what took it for me. If they can ever get the trumpets and mellos to the same level as the tubas they will run through any and everybody.
Jsu arrangements is taking away from how good the band can be 😂 its music educators all through the threads giving asu the nod. Not bashing jsu they the truth but come on man they too good to look and sound like they can't switch the moods when playing other bands. Cant bully every band gotta show some Balance in sound and arrangements give jsu southerns arrangers lol....

@@chrismontrell While that is true I see a change to some degree in JSU's arrangement styles. I hear more complexity than years past. I admit JSU could have toned it down a bit on some selections. Scream and Weak became power overload and the melody got lost. Those 2 rounds I gave to ASU.

Sorry , I have to give JSU thumbs up over Bama State band. They are a bigger band, They have much more energy and excitement in there band, plus JSU have much louder and better fan base then Bama State, I think Bama State fans need to show much more energy , louder, and the band needs to be way way bigger . need a younger more vibrant director with a different type of energy. Not so much urban music to play or old school all the time but a different type of hip professional sound and presentation on the field and off the field. Bama State,They have tons of potential and they could really wipe people clean on and off the field but they still got work to do. Look at Grambling, Florida A&M, even Talladega College has a great sounding band for a smaller school how good they are . they are strong.
