Yes and no...if cleaned(no rust indication) sanded and de greased yes...otherwise no...filler is hygroscopic so likes to soak in,as long is indoors all good...welds are more problematic if left in bear metal without any protection on them they tend to rust in micro crack and holes and covered with filler create problem later on...usually have on hand zinc primer or something to cover your work keeping in mind cleaned,sanded,degreased
@@bozidarstrk an absloute no no... filler is porous... moisture can make its way threw the filler and cause issues... it been proven to never ...ever apply filler over bare metal....
