Robert first I very much still appreciate and watch tutorials. Also a video idea: when to wear eye primer and when you can get away with not. I absolutely love the way you articulate the reason why things will work or not ❤
Hello from the Pacific Northwest. I so enjoy your programs, thank you. I'm 70, a different canvas to work on. Since the death of my oldest son to a heartattack. He was 43, worked himself to death. I have stopped caring how I look, I never use to leave the house with out my eyes done. But for 2 years I just rock in my chair. Then I discovered your videos, ghost stories, product critiquing and your how to do the looks. I'm twice washing my face now, use toner and moisturizers, and I purchased a new tinted moisturizer for foundation. You have helped me try to live again. Thank you. ❤
Robert, my one year old is obsessed with you and James and she cackles and smiles through your videos ❤️ we look forward to your posts every week and we're here right on time for this new video!
Omg so funny my 6 yr old loves them too lol..I’ll be watching them & she’ll come over and say oh these guys? I wanna watch lol. Or she’ll say can we watch those two guys again? Lol..Robert doesn’t like kids but I’m sure he’s flattered by the love 😆🥰
I remember someone, maybe about more than a year ago, commenting that she was a nanny of a little mouse who had learnt to say "What chu finking, huuuun?" before the good night tuck & kiss. My selective memory makes me say it too some nights. I live alone🤦🏻♀️😆. 🧛🏻♀️🖤
“I don’t know what it is about being a makeup artist and not following your own advice”… I feel attacked. Made me laugh out loud. 😂 Great video!! You’re so talented!
I think that’s every career though. You go to the doctor and they tell you to get your blood work done once a year but they haven’t had their’s done in 20 lol
I’m teaching my 16-year-old niece, how to apply make up, and yours are one of the few accounts I refer her to for really good techniques and applications. Love you looking back and having a giggle at yourself, and still always having fun and not taking it all too serious. This should be fun 😅
“Look at this, that subscribe permanently up in the corner, that’s aggressive” 🤭😅 haha I love your way with words! I salute you for going back over old videos, I can see how much you’re not liking it but it shows true growth and maturity 😊
Dear Robert, You're are very kind. Watching ourselves is one of the most sincere reaction one can have. You weren't too hard on yourself. This can be an uncomfortable thing for others to watch & you made it pleasant! The naked liner & half off lashes are relatable for all make-up enthusiast! Love You💖
Right?! 😂😅 When he was roasting himself over that eyeliner towards the end of the video I started to feel real bad about my eyeliner skills as they’re no where near as good as this 🥲
I have watched all the old videos (that are still there) and have a lot of them saved for the times I need to remind myself of the basics. I also like the closeups of how the makeup looks when applied. The look you create when reviewing the Stacy Marie Tahiti palette is still my number one makeup goal (I still haven’t attempted)
The early videos are still so good quality. I have no idea how I could set it up so that I can see what I’m doing, and stay in focus or on the damn frame at least. I move around apparently a lot and I end up slouching to the bottom of the frame 😅
I used to thrive on these makeup tutorial videos back in, like, 2010. They were my favorites when I was starting to learn about makeup. I still go back and occasionally watch ones like this because they're relaxing to me, lol!
Video idea - you critiquing yourself critiquing yourself in another 5 years… video in video in video 😂 - no but don’t 😂. It’s so nice to see how much more relaxed and confident you are in videos now ❤ but early Robert is so sweet
@Laura_Lawson Delete your comment asap (now that Robert has seen it and answered) before Christopher Nolan steals you this glorious metametameta concept!😜 🧛🏻♀️🖤💜🖤
I think being a professional and not following your own advice goes for many professions. I'm a nurse and we honestly make *THE* worst patients! 😆I had major surgery in 2020. I was up going to the toilet by myself, walking down the hospital corridors searching for a snack, etc. When I wasn't even supposed to be getting up unassisted yet. 😂🤷🏻♀️
I feel that we need more tutorials like these ❤️ I always loved learning on how to stack colors, cause I still have issues with it 😭 And Robert can explain so nice, it would be a great to have more of these, guides on how to do eyeshadows, doing it for different eye shapes, soing contour or blush depending on the face snape and actually doing each one . Make up lessons with Robert 😎 So lovely to see how much he has evolved ❤️❤️
Loving the green eye makeup! Thanks to you, at the age of 55, I'm trying makeup for the first time. I can't do it like you, but at least I'm getting better!
I wish tutorials still got views! Even though these weren't as evolved as you have become, I have no doubt that they helped a lot of people. Fourteen y/o me would have been obsessed.
Your reaction videos are always so entertaining & informative - But you, reacting to YOU?! Beyoooond entertaining & informative! 🙌🏼 I absolutely loved this 🤍 Such an interesting dive into how your makeup (& makeup overall) has changed
I'd love if you could do a video about hooded eyelids for mature women. Or possibly provide makeup guidelines for those of us who are older. Thank you!
Beauty trends are constantly changing so don't be so hard on your past videos. I learn from your older tutorials too. Robert, you always look fantastic and flawless in any makeup you choose!
Robert, anytime the day looks bleak--watching you changes everything. I wanted to tell you how much I loved one of your short clips where you talk about scars. And people's inquiries about them and their (sometimes) lack of proper understanding when asking. Your comment about some of us owning our scars was spot on. I've had one across part of my forehead since I was 5, had numerous offers to have it fixed, but said "No. I like my scar, I'd miss it." 💜🖤💜🖤
Love you Robert! Seeing your dedication to your followers and how you take the time to like and comment on all of these wonderful statements warms my heart. Thanks for your kindness and professionalism always 🥰
@@RobertWelsh AHH I did not expect such a quick response! I'm going to send this screenshot to my mom (who I got hooked on your twin channel), she's gonna freak out!

I found your channel around this time in 2019, I think after watching Wayne Goss. I still don't do my makeup very often unless it's for a special occasion, or even just because. Liquid and winged eyeliner are still the bane of my existence. There are people like myself who still enjoy watching tutorials and I'd love to see you reenact some of your old ones!
What a great video. ❤ I think it shows all of us we always have room to grow. You were still great, though! I wish people still watched tutorials. I love them.
Its always interesting looking back at your old makeup looks. Seeing how your technique, product choices, color/style choices have changed and evolved.
This is such a wonderful concept for a video, @RobertWelsh. When I first found you and @JamesWelsh (maybe a year ago), after I inhaled all of your then-recent videos, I went back to the earliest things you've allowed to survive on UA-cam. You were both so shy and awkward. I love seeing the growth in both you and James, as you've honed your professional skills, but also your UA-camr (i.e. "influencer" -- I hate that word) skills. Also though, any time you want to bring back tutorials, I will watch every second, like, share on UA-cam, and share on other platforms.
This is so interesting, to see how much you've improved when it comes to putting make up on yourself. I sometimes come cross selfies from 3-4 years ago and I can't believe that I used to do some things so horribly... 🤦♀😂 Also, on the note of tutorials. I wish they would come back as a trend. honestly...I love these eye looks!😂 and the close up are very usefull for us poor mortals who are helpless in makeup...
Love u lots!!!!❤
Holy shit what a stunning eye look, absolutely love those colors!
This was so fun and I think u should do more -we learn from our past and I admire how confident and secure you are to evaluate yourself!
This got me so nostalgic for the old days of makeup tutorials! It's a shame it's not as popular now, a Robert tut and chat would be so lovely 💜🖤
You are your own worst critic.. I loved you then and now!!❤
Love this look today ❤️
Thank you! 🖤🖤
