I always found it comical that Marvel is attempting to get rid of mutants because they aren't worthy of being around because Marvel can't make movies with them when being unwanted is the very identity of the mutants.
Also, Inhumans and Mutants are too different to actually truly sub for each other. Even with the NuHumans, they aren't mutants. They might not have had the choice but they are still Inhumans and are family with the others. They are related in some way. Mutants are in every sense of the word alone, until they find they place amongst a group like the Brotherhood, X-Men, or even the Morlocks. Using them for each other is a disservice to both franchises because it screws the X-Men over in general and robs the Inhumans of what made them unique.
netherrealmshero Well, Marvel is clearly shooting themselves in the foot with this petty behavior. The Inhumans are hated in both comics and live action. Either get the X-Men rights back, convince Fox to share them or ditch this crap entirely. I don't care who has the rights; I just want quality. The Inhumans have lacked quality.
but the x-men are also related to regular humans just like the Nuhumans are related to other inhumans. The NuHumans are still mutants just of a different group. if the NuHumans are accepted among inhumans and the x-men aren't accepted among humans then that's just inconsistent writing or the inhumans are just more progressive.
After everything that happened with the Inhumans killing mutants with their poison mist, and how the X-Men were demonized in X-Men vs Inhumans, I will never buy Inhuman books (unless it's ms.marvel).
See, let's get real here; Mutants are analogs for minorities (Whether it's race or sexuality), and Inhumans are basically a monarch type society which rule with hierarchy and have tried to commit genocide in the past in the comics. So when they release a cloud which basically gasses mutants to death, you can see why a lot of us hate Inhumans now. Sterilizing mutants? That's some eugenics that started in the US against minority groups which eventually made it to Nazi Germany when it came to them believing in the perfect race...
Magneto was a holocaust survivor, but apparently he did something wrong in planning to take the war to the Inhumans who barely do anything as mutants had been dying before Medusa ever said "even if it's one mutant life, I'll sacrifice the cloud". Apparently Cyclops in Mark Waid's Champions was called "Hitler" even though again, Inhumans were gassing mutants, but whatever I guess.
Still cannot get over Inhumans vs X-Men, what were Mutants supposed to do besides fight back against actual genocide? Because the messages writers gave as alternatives are really messed up when you apply it to real life; because the idea telling a mutant to leave the planet sure is messed up.
Wish Secret Wars didn't mess with the ongoing stories at Marvel like Uncanny X-Men, because I sure wish we could have seen more of the Mutant Revolution, it's really fitting with everything happening in the real world.
Zeta Rise I don't even want to count X VS I as canon, it was simply badly written. Just another storyline where everything would be solved in seconds if the opposing parties would've just TALKED to each other.

Cyclops was killed by the M-pox while the Cyclops that Black Bolt killed was a physic hologram created by Emma Frost to help trigger X men vs Inhumans
Its worth noting that Kevin Feige wanted nothing to do with the InHumans as a movie but was originally forced to include them because of his then boss Ike Perlmutter wanting them included in the MCU's roster of movies. Then Feige was given direct access to Disney's management instead of going to go through Perlmutter so he dropped the Inhuman's movie from the MCU roster in the blink of an eye. It might have been worth mentioning this in the video as it indicates Feige does not see a place for the Inhumans while Perlmutter just wanted to use them as a counter to the X men owned by another studio You can see the point of the X men but the point of the Inhumans is less clear.
And for Feige, better to drop an idea than force it and come innatural. And even with the screwups on the MCU it would say a lot to know when something cant work.
Perlmutter sucks
Hearing other you tubers praise Perlmutter to the high heavens is so irritating. Yes he saved Marvel from bankruptcy, and made the MCU a massive success, but his feud with 20th Century Fox ruined a lot of fan-favorite products that featured the Fox-owned Marvel characters. It's dishonest to claim that Perlmutter had nothing but the right ideas for Marvel

No, because of the emotional connection. The X-men have decades of great stories and art. Iconic characters with weight and depth. A forced replacement feels like a slap to these beloved characters.

@@LarryBonson You’re tripping. AoA and Inferno alone redefined the X-Books just as much as anything else Claremont wrote in the 80’s. Inferno (written by Claremont) is how we got Mister Sinister, the rest of Cyclops’s effed up backstory, and the completely rehauled/rewritten version of the Phoenix Force that’s canon til this day. That alone is classic. Try again, son.
Here is the difference between Inhumans and Mutants: Mutants are minorities and Inhumans are nobility. Mutants want to be part of humanity, their powers make a divide that’s hard to get over. Inhumans couldn’t care less about humanity and would rather chill on the Moon. That’s why the Inhumans are so cool. You are ascending to a brand new society with crazy powers and a royal family. Marvel wants to take that away from them and overall, drive people to hate them. I fear for what they’ll do to Atlantis, if they want to use Namor.

@Danny McMillan: I don't think you need to worry about Atlantis (well, not in the way you do) - I'm quite sure Namor, being rather closely tied to Fantastic Four, has been sold alongside FF when Marvel's movie rights were distributed. At this time, I find it unlikely at best for Namor to be part of MCU.

I don't know, do you have sources for that? Since Namor outdates the Fantastic 4 by decades, he may have already had a rather fixed legal status when they came along.
@Kaefer1973: you do have a point regarding Namor being older than FF... but than implementing him into their universe, I assume Marvel had rights to him, so I fear his "situation" is similar to Silver Surfer or Deadpool

My favorite version of the X-Men in terms of allegory (and in general) is Grant Morrison's New X-Men. It created a mutant subculture, made the team more like superpowered civil rights leaders than superheroes, and was political without being preachy. It made mutants feel like a real minority group with unique problems (not just a metaphor for a specific real group), so the themes about acceptance and treatment were more about how we generally need to respect each other and realize we're all human.
Yeah and then he went on to Murder Jean Grey for no good reason. And then there was that abortion of a story Arc with Xorn. I read it and to this day I don't know what the fuck happened there. One second he's a good guy, next he's fucking Magneto... cuz reasons.

@Lockjaw Haven’t read Hickman’s run yet. The headlines I’ve been seeing though reminds me too much of Morrison’s “let’s change this up for reasons” bit. Idk. I’m probably turning into “that fan” that hated Claremont’s X-Men in the late 80’s/early 90’s when he took the team to the Australian Outback and then split them up for a year. One of my favorite runs tho. 🤣
I don't believe that the inhumans can or should ever replace the X Men as stand ins for minorities but I do think it is good to have them re-enforce those ideas as long as they don't bring in the subject of choice.
It'll be easy enough to skirt around with the general public who might not know or care about their deeper backstory.

Mabasei doesn't that make the choice of having the first widely accepted New Human in the fan base after the bomb's cloud descended on the world all the more powerful? You have a young teen raised in a Muslim family who is already facing racism and xenophobic propaganda thrown at them because of their ethnic background and religion and how close they live to New York who wants nothing more than to be like all the non Muslim kids in her community. She's into non traditonal things like superheroes, animation, and fan fiction that her parents as more traditional practitioners of the faith don't see as something a young Muslim woman should be into. And even if they don't make her follow strict Muslim traditions, like wearing at the very least a hijab and long sleeves all the time, they still want her to be more Muslim than typical American teenager. So the fact that the series opens with her grappling with what is expected of her as a good daughter and female follower of the Muslim faith as opposed to what is in her heart because she's been raised in America is a really strong statement. Because Kamala is representing not only what it is to be Muslim in America but also what it is to be a Nerd in America and what it is to be a teenager in America.
I don't expect to see Ms. Marvel tackle a Middle Eastern terror group like Al Qeda or ISIS but I do expect her series to take on some of the issues that teens growing up in a Muslim household might be facing today like the feeling of isolation and that their friends and neighbors suddenly don't trust them because of a piece of propaganda online or a Tweet made by a figure in the national spotlight. Having one of the first New Humans be from a Muslim family certainly opens up a world of relevant topics they can tackle with her stories.

I can't see this push to replace the X-Men with Inhumans lasting for long. Aside from cracks already starting to show in this plan with the "Fox Ban" on X-Men character in video games slowly being lifted (most prominently in Marvel's mobile games), the only NuHuman in the comics that's had any staying power is the new Ms. Marvel, and her being an Inhuman has so little impact on her stories that she could have gotten her powers from falling into a vat of cream of wheat and it wouldn't have made that much of a difference.
Major props to anyone who gets that reference. ;)
The Nuhumans can choose to go to new attilan and the public treats them as a "new", exotic, and organize culture and social structures with a long history to learn about and understand. They can learn of their ancestral heritage and return to their birth countries as representatives and teachers, possessing potentially beneficial knowledge and technology to share. Mutants on the other hand are mostly seen as Wild Cards that can pop up anywhere and anytime, with potentially obscene level of power in the hands of a *potential* criminal due to deeply ingrained fears and stereotypes held by people who would rather cling to negative examples than give decent mutants a far chance.

I agree that the inhumans having their own state changes the interpretation of the inhumans. I think this point leans them towards an immigrants/first generation rather than an allegory for LGBTQ or American POC. Which is not to say Immigrants aren't Americans it's just to say that those who have been in America through several generations as a POC have a different experience than an immigrant POC or their children.

The Nuhumans didn't choose to be Nuhumans they didn't choose to have DNA that reacts to terrigen, so when the water supply get's poisoned with Terrigen and they take a fish oil pill that's filled with Terrigen that makes them turn and they can't control their powers or become deformed, or disfigured they didn't choose that.

Another defining feature about the Inhumans is that there not oppressed figures. They celebrate there difference's and uniqueness. If xmen are an analog for nerds then Inhumans is basically a nerd haven like comic con.

Bully is a type of oppression though... The thing is that it can range from being treated as an outcast who doesn't deserve respect, to people actively trying to kill you and ban your right to exist (and anything inbetween).

For an idea for a future video how about covering how the different obstacles that Marvel and DC face when they try to bring in a new character to take on an existing role. It just seems that DC has a bit easier time introducing characters as many of there heroes have an inherited tradition or legacy such as The Flash or the role has become designed to be flexible with characters like Green Lantern. Marvel just seems to have a bit harder time (push back would be a better term) when they play a new character in an existing role and it would be interesting to see who both companies approach this.
Wolfsite it does seem like the Marvel fanbase, and I'm a marvel guy, is a lot more toxic. I can see SOME annoyance at replacing well known characters with racially different characters, but the vitriol is just asinine.

Not in a million years, X-men have so much hardshipd that inhumans never have, they are a kingdon, that is feared, no one wants war with them and let they do as they please, mutants doesnt't have that, mutants have sentinels hunting kids, and x-men feeling guilt about that...
No. Even if the MCU went with Terigen mist going all around the world or getting in the water and the Newhumans didn't have a choice, it would be seen as disease that could be cured. As opposed to being a mutant, where their power is their identity. It makes a bad metaphor even if you took away choice.

I like that the Inhumans have returned to the spotlight .... but not HOW they were brought back.
Agents of SHIELD did a pretty good job with making the parallels work. Joey didn't want his powers, Elena's friends were scared of her when they found out, and Jiayang was the one who justified her acts of violence against all humans with how she had been wronged for having been Inhuman. None of them had the choice, including Skye/Daisy, who rose up to help others learn to live with their new abilities...That said, Inhumans has touched on none of this so far
It's been a while, but I remember feeling Agents if SHIELD seemed to be a better allegory for how Muslims were treated in the wake of 9/11. The main motivator in the show was people fearing their alien DNA because of the battle for New York. It didn't matter that they were still born on Earth, they were seen as alien and dangerous anyway. Similar to how everyone wearing a hijab was suddenly seen as a foreign terrorist regardless of whether they were born and raised in America or not. (And obviously even if they were an immigrant it wouldn't make them a terrorist anyway.)
This is a bit random, but I love that the ad at the beginning is you. It's so refreshing to hear your voice advocating for a product you like instead of watching some random thing I want to skip.
I think there was a rumour (that is probably true) that the Inhumans movie was Ike Perlmutter’s “baby” and he was only making it to beat Fox. And when he lost his role in the films he made a TV show.

I just wanted to comment that X-Men can also serve to represent people with disabilities. As someone with a disability that isn't obvious to the casual passerby, it can be very inspirational to have characters like Rogue who appear "ordinary" on the surface, but who are actually different in a way that can make doing "ordinary life" things difficult.
It's like a metaphor for autism as well! there's nothing to be cured, but people shun us just cuz we're different
Inhumans only name might be a better example for minority groups since they are being labeld as not Human or cruel. whilst Mutants aren't special. we all have certain mutations going on for example Scots shine bright melon. but that begs the question why are certain mutations shunned whilst others are completely acceptable.
In order to be a good metaphor, the delivery has to be good. We're only talking about the X-Men today because they eventually got it right. This is too obvious and forced, and they've failed to rebrand the Inhumans as relatable characters.

YES I said this on the Superman vid, The X-Men were Stan Lee's way of addressing prejudice and intolerance so just on that alone The Inhumans can NEVER be a replacement for X-Men. The whole scope of the X-Men is too important to be erased and replaced by a watered down pseudo clone.

They've gotten really close to finding a metaphor that really worked for the Inhumans. The Inhumans have their own sovereign city with its own government, customs and culture. Elements of that culture like Terrigenesis are voluntary but so ingrained in the culture that to pass on it may cause them undue social stigma. The Inhumans shouldn't be a metaphor for garden variety, at-home racism. It should stand in for xenophobia. A prejudice against foreigners and inability to understand and respect foreign cultures. In other words, in the world as it is right now, it should have been a metaphor for how some Western cultures see and try to deal with majority Muslim cultures.

Is that why they are going absolutely no where with the X-Men storylines in the comics. I honestly gave up on them after the Battle of the Atom just ended with no resolution.
Part of that has to do with the fact that they put a ban on their artists and writers bringing in any new Mutant characters to the X-Men fold. Once they create a new character they become the property of Fox and they lose all rights to them. It's why they're focusing on the New Humans now and characters like Ms. Marvel instead of creating new mutants and the story lines that go along with them.
All of marvels comics suck today. They’re too busy pouring all their effort into their movies.
The thing with the NuHumans is that while it wasn't a choice to be that way, them getting powers wasn't a genetical given but a thing that happened by accident and chance, if Black Bolt didn't detonate the bomb, they'd never have their powers, mutants would.

Inhumans can never replace Xmen mostly because of how the most well know and popular are apart of the royal family or Ms. Marvel. Trying to make the two interchangeable takes something interesting away from each group and makes both less special. Inhumans are a great example of a sect of humanity that went down a different path based of alien intervention while Xmen are the group of misfits hated and feared by their own because of random genetics. Also Inhumans have a caste system based of kind of powers you get and have a group similar to slaves of not just straight up slaves so making them a stand in for repressed people may not be wisest course cause than you get the excuse "They treat those who are different from them poorly so we can treat them poorly cause they started it" similar how I've had people in my life justify US slavery cause there was slavery in Africa by fellow Africans.

Somebody actually made that argument? Aside from the fact that "they did bad, so we are allowed to do bad/worse as well" shouldn't be used as an argument by anybody anymore, it doesn't even make sense ignoring that.
If US slaves were primarily white I could see that argument, "we held our people slaves, but so did others" it's the aforementioned argument. It would also make sense if most African slaves were white I guess, in the "we only did to them what they did to us" kinda way.
But largely non racist slavery in one area really can't justify the addition of racism to slavery in another area since the racist element of US-American slavery is the main problem people have with it when comparing it with other forms of slavery.

Honestly, the Inhumans feel more like a rival to the X-men them anything else. They set off a bomb, killing off natural born mutants and creating the New Humans, whether they may have agreed to it or not, without any kind of choice in the matter. It's almost like if Cobra had played heroes, wiped out the Joes, created an army of snake men across the planet, then just stepped back patting each other on the backs, and let chaos ensue. I could see a massive battle between the X-men and Inhumans, but never a replacement of any sort.
i wish that marvel would just drop the inhuman crap and maybe take all the genuinely interesting inhumans (the inhumans on earth affected by terrigen blast) and rewrite their origins to be x-men. this way we can keep stuff like kamala khan and still cut out that inhuman royalty crap.

You're absolutely right. And i hadn't thought about this before (to be fair, I'm more of a DC boy) It's insulting to even unintentionally imply that one can "choose" to be the way we're born. I'm a bisexual dude who has been told all my life that I need to "just pick one" by both the straight and gay communities. This really hit home for me.
Well, i don't now. but i grew up in the 90's . . . it was really hard being bisexual. I didn't unerstand it myself until i was almost 30. :/

There is no other response. No one said they couldn't "be however they like." The fact is that the mutants DO represent us quite well.
The Inhumans should never replace the X-Men, they should be developed as something wholly unique. First their origin unlike the mutants (except in 1610) was for military application. The Kree created them to take the form of the local species, to inflitrate and destablize if necessary. All the powers the Inhumans manifest have military applications. Black Bolt is a walking nuke (who by the way scared Sentry to a degree), Medusa is an unassuming assassin that would leave behind no evidence nor betray any intentions, Luna could very well make a soldier fire on his own people, and Eldrac can deploy troops where they are most needed without the need of long battle prep. The Inhumans are weapons, they have an established history and society separate from Earth in every way (at this point). They don't need to be accepted by humans the same way mutants do. Mutants are a naturally occurring thing, the Inhumans aren't as said in the video.
If they ever come back it shouldn't be as Earth heroes. I think this is something that 1610 (Ultimate Universe) got right with them. The fantastic four met them and they didn't stand around and think "well they found out about us, lets seek coexistence and mutual benefit." Nah they left the planet. They didn't care about the humans or the F4 they just up and left, end of story, and through all the Earth based events they never appeared again to help. Crystal showed up once for Johnny to say goodbye and that was it.
If they're brought back it they Marvel should expand on what was going on in Silent War. We are two different nations, societies, peoples and we choose not to have any or minimal contact with you. It should be treated as more of a First Contact scenario, rather than some new powered people who want to be heroes. Inhumans can pull off the isolationist thing, people complain about with Krakoa.

Makes me glad Blade is not likely gonna come into the MCU, with the way the inhumans are being used as a stand in fpr the X-Men....and we don't need vampire society in secret..it would just get messy
The Inhumans are not mutants plain and simple. Mutants were born with their eXtra ability. That's why they are ridiculed by people in the Marvel U. Inhumans go through a process to get their abilities. This distinction is why I believe Inhumans were never a subject of hate in the Marvel U.
TLDR: Inhumans follows the philosophy of Heroes like Spider-Man and Hulk, normal people gaining their powers later on in life. Mutants have a different philosophy, because they wete born with their abilities.
The Inhumans are more about a separationist society. They're cool they're great with this hidden society and royalty... It's great but it's not X men Stop trying to put a square peg in a round hole.

The content was great. But the presentation was on point. I know you probably don’t get a lot of props for that aspect of your videos. But it is very apparent, you know what you were doing it’s very structured and it works!

I so love X-Men mainly because of the 90's cartoon and the films. They are just relatable like a teenage Spider-man. Inhumans are not very relatable and more than half of them are lame as the horrible tv show was. I'm sure they could have been done well by a fully Marvel film treatment but don't seem like that is going to happen in the next decade. X-Men are coming home and I think it will Rock!
While I totally agree on Scotts arguments, there is one little problem there. And this is the reader himself. While growing up with the X-Men, even if some Inhumans are great, also their stories, I simply can't escape the thoughts, that they are the X-Men clones. There is this feeling I for one simply can't overcome. And this in particular keeps me at bay ever gaining full access to the Inhumans experience. Same problem I've entcountered to Hawkeye vs Green Arrow, Batman vs Moon Night vs Midnighter, Hyperion vs Sentry vs Superman, etc. Even if I underderstand the core idea is different to any of those Superheroes, there is always "the first one" I've encounterend, so automatically I feel like the other is just a bad clone. The thing is, you can't fix that feeling. I belive, the only thing that really works is, by diferentiating those "clones" as much as possible. And here we have the main problem with Inhumans vs X-Men, you can't, because they work on the same meta powerlevel. At this point story simply doesn't count, because you can change this story with ease from X-Men to Inhumans. And that argument of "X-Men-don't have a choice being Mutants, Inhumans can choose being supernatural": Marvel already did some different aproaches, with the Teramyst Gen fog in the comics or that Fishpills in the Agents of SHIELD series, to take away the Inhuman choice.

Puh, that a really tough one. Frankly I for one can't overcome the idea of them being just the "bad clones". So, my personal answer for me is clearly "no, they can't". But maybe in given time, other comic readers could.

Well, given that Marvel is publishing a comic called "The Death of the Inhumans," Imma going to go and say "No."
I've always questioned the usefulness of mutants as stand-in for minority groups, since Marvel has in the past openly vetoed writers who wished to include actual minorities (LGBT specifically). I mean, yeah, I get the idea that these allegorical characters are relateable and I even latched on to mutants as a child, but it has the end result of keeping any actual exposure out of comics. Think about the irony that LGBT individuals are rarer in Marvel comics than mutants.
The thing is celestials created mutants. When they arrived the experimented on apes that later evolved into externals, deviants and humans who would later become mutants and ppl that would survive things that later became the hulk and captain American and blue marvel. Inhumans seems to be created by Kree after the celestials already interfered

Lore of Dear Marvel: The Inhumans are NOT X-Men! Momentum 100
While using the new humans, alongside Ms Marvel would work really work as an metaphor for minorities. But, they're using the inhuman royal family in the show. Our protagonist, as the weekly planet pointed out to me, are enslaving in humans they deem unworthy and are revolted against. So these people who choose their powers, and then are subjugated for choosing they are superior to others with powers isn't a good message

This has probably been super retconned but early on in an old avengers comic they suggested that terragenisis was just a short cut, that genetically there wasn't much of a difference between mutants or inhumans.
This old idea is revisited in earth x by Alex Ross where its revealed that both originate with a genetic seed left by the celestials in humanity and the entire population becoming inhumans triggers the same mechanisms as humanity becoming all mutants eventually would.

They only good thing about the Inhumans was that they're just the Fantastic Four supporting characters. That's pretty much it, Fantastic Four are the main stars of the Marvel Universe, not Inhumans. The end.

They fixed the terragenisis question in agents of shield though where basically everyone predisposed genetically to be inhumans were activated by exposure to seafood. So they basically put them in the same role as mutants

Hey Scott, the mutants weren't naturally occuring either. When the Celestials were fiddling around in human dna (Deviants/Eternals) they placed a latent gene in the remaining humans. That gene became both the mutant gene and the gene the Kree later exploited to create Inhumans.

Not really liking Marvel's push for the Inhumans to be the new X-men, as I think they're fine as is and people who really love the X-men will never settle for a replacement.
The inhumans could be an alagory for transgender they choose of their own free will aside from a slight difference in their life DNA or just how they act

Hey NerdSync I know you likely won't do it, because a lot of hardcore comics channels just won't touch it with a ten foot pole it seems, but I would love to see your take and perspective on the whole Duck universe of the Uncle Scrooge and Donald Duck comics, especially the differences between the Carl Barks stories and family trees and the Don Rosa stories and family trees. With the new version of Ducktales out now as an homage to both writers it would be a fun way to interject a little Disney into things while keeping the focus on comics and comics history, especially with the whole Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck origin story Don Rosa did that may or may not have retconned some Carl Barks history of Scrooge.
Here’s the thing. The concept of letting an ancient sacred ceremony being broken by the Terrigen mist is pretty darn interesting and why wouldn’t humans be so afraid of either mutants or Inhumans? As humans we fear what we don’t understand and that fear can be placed on the Inhumans and Mutants. Which is ironic cause humans fear change and from that fear we hate. Most people hate on Marvel for changing the standing point of Mutants and Inhumans, but honestly how interesting would it have been if Inhumans took the Mutants position and Mutants took the Inhumans by moving to the moon as its own civilization and when ever someone had their mutant gene kick in that they have a celebration? I’m someone who wouldn’t mind seeing this cause this could be a positive thing for Marvel but we’re all just too afraid of change which is also why so many people dislike Legacy characters, hell I’ll admit I was too with Robbie as a Ghost Rider but after reading his stuff I love it and now love these newer Legacy characters
True, it would be interesting to see them trade places. You would think that each group being feared by humans would unite them. However, we mostly see them at odds with each other. I wonder if this is intentionally mirroring civil rights movements of different minority groups in the 1900's. If I remember right, there was a divide in feminist groups around uniting with Abolitionists' efforts to equality.
It would also be interesting if the Inhumans spawned from the Terragen Mist bomb grew up to start their own school like Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. They would finally have a rival for sport tournaments.

The concept of Inhumans choosing got thrown out when the bomb went off and they became people who got abilities without wanting them and there’s really nothing wrong with that

i'm surprised you didn't bring up the fact that they also took the choice out in agents of shield, which i think actually does a pretty good job of exploring prejudice in regards to inhumans/mutants, probably due to the act that they get to really exlore it over a long period of time. honestly, idek why they have an inhumans show when AOS is doing such a good job of it already
I think that they can be a metaphor for some of the disliked religions. That is to say, for the most part people CHOOSE to wear hajibs (not sure how that is spelled). Outsiders see them as oppressed, but they are making a religious choice. Not everyone from those religions makes the same choice. Some groups want to make the choice for others, which is not okay.
Another metaphor that I see is with the T in lgbt. While a transgender person is born that way, they make the choice whether to actually live as their birth gender, or not. They may choose to change, and only then be treated as an outsider.
I'm not sure if it is perfect, but if done correctly I feel that the potential is there. They will be different comparisons than the x- men, but also similar.

I always liked the X-Men, and related to their social-misfit status. If the jews and homosexuals and people-of-color got some comfort from them too, that's ace.
The inhumans had a "choice" whether or not they became mutants and that's very interesting concept. That makes them a metaphor for some of today's less-trendy outcasts. For example - people on the Aspergers spectrum. Should such individuals retreat into our own little hobbies where we are happy and extremely productive but we get even worse at social interactions coz we never practice? OR should should we force ourselves into constant social situations, trying to gain the conversation skills that everyone else seem to naturally possess, but neglecting our mind's unique ability to process other information? It's a choice - and a hard very difficult choice, coz you don't know the repercussions until many years after your choose.
Jews and homosexuals get to choose how much they reveal their religion and sexuality. They're like wolverine, who can hide his mutant status if he wants. People-of-color can't hide, but they DO get to choose whether they predominantly adopt the culture of their traditional race, OR the dominant culture in their current location. I mean, a chinese migrant in Australia can choose to live and work in the china-town district and stay loyal to his traditional culture and language OR mix it up in an area that's more multicultural, and adopt a proper aussie drawl. These difficult choices are something we all have in common.
There's a focus these days on pretending no-one has any agency. Everyone wants to have the most "victim points" and to show how they had no choice in their fate. If Aspergers people had that attitude, we'd just blame the bullies who call us "nerds", "incels" or "nazis" whenever we utter a clumsy sentence. Still, that wouldn't be _honest._ Maybe we do have a genetic predisposition to having a tough time socially, but we also often CHOOSE to exacerbate the problem, but focusing too much on our own hobbies.
It would be GREAT to have a comic that *reminded people that we all have agency, choice, and personal responsibility.* If you blame "your birth" for everything that is wrong in your life, how can you improve yourself? That's not a constructive narrative.

All they had to do was say that only the Inhumans of Attilan required Terrigenesis, as those outside would have been able to develop Terrigenesis naturally through proper human evolution. This would have allowed for characters like Kamala and Dante to develop their powers without the need for the mist, as the mist would already be in their system.

just cause they are fictional doesn't mean you can't dislike them, that's like saying you can't dislike Sauron, Vlodamort, Darken Rahl or any fiction character. it's silly to hate them but you can feel any way about someone real or not how ever you like. it's good or poor storytelling that forms an emotional bond with fictional characters making us root for the hero and jeer the villain.

"...mostly white guys..." I mean heaven forbid the writers try to get white people to have empathy for a minority group. The fact that they were mostly white is partly the times of course, but can be spun into a way to teach tolerance to the intolerant. Making characters that appear like the audience, at the time predominantly white people, but act in ways and experience things that marginalized groups have, can create a connection between the two groups. The audience gains empathy for the characters and in doing so have a higher chance of being empathetic to those that face intolerance. I think that this is what is wrong with Marvel now. Before, there seemed to have been more of an olive branch approach. Now there is the active antagonizing of longtime fans or at the very least a large demographic of people on the basis of their politics. It doesn't allow for empathy when characters are written horribly and don't act like human beings. Not to mention needless race swapping. There is no empathy. No olive branches. They fuel more bigotry than they try to dispel which is why X Men's politics are so much better than current Marvel's.
What do you propose? Keep most of the character base lilly white? How does the existence of Storm, Black Panther, Wyatt Wingfoot, Joe "Robbie" Robertson, or Shang Chi make it harder for white people to connect with people of color? What I am talking about is bigger than needless race swapping. Make my Madarin and The Ancient One asian.
I'm not seeing how Marvel is antagonizing fans on the basis of politics. Clearly, Nazis and Commies are still the bad guys. I don't believe Marvel is saying Republicans are villains and Democrats are heroes. You could argue that the "Civil War" portrayed totalitarianism in a negative light. What was the backlash? The abolition of Afforbable Health Care and Civil Rights?
I agree the predominance of "mostly white guys" in the 60s' was a sign of the times. But to appeal to other groups; Marvel started introducing characters of other races. People want to see people who look like them. In order for the characters to appear "like the audience", you are required to represent of all races.

The way that Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has presented the inhumans has been fairly similar to mutants. Born with a special gene, come into contact with a terregen tainted substance, such as the fish oil pills, and they suddenly have powers.
