I see a lot of people saying Boomerang, but the music video actually premiered on Cartoon Network proper way back in '98, I was there, I remember it like it was yesterday
One of those songs that's stuck with me for most of my life after watching the music video on CN way back in the day. Some days at school it would just randomly play in my head for no reason at all. Most likely an earworm for me that'll never die.
Yes! Why? I couldn't have been older than what? Five? Six? Yet those lyrics stuck to me. I saw something on Boomerang. Wasn't it a gorilla just walking? Clips from episodes from whatever show. I can't recall. Maybe someone can remind me.
90s and 2000s kids stumbling back on this classic. I honestly think having those Boomerang bumpers made me more adventurous when looking for music at that age.
If you were between the age of 4 and 25 throughout most of the 90s, congratulations, you had one of the most incredible life experiences in the history of the human race.
Ha! I definitely don’t take it for granted: I was kid in the 70s, teen in the 80s, and a single 20-something in the 90s, just working and having fun. Golden decades...
I have always loved this album. My dad heard this song on Cartoon Network while I was watching and decided to pick it up at the record store. It became one of the first albums I ever really got into in fifth grade or so. Supremely underrated.
I didn’t discover the CN Groovies until years later since I don’t think they aired in the UK, but when I did see them this song hooked me instantly. Hasn’t left my head since.
Heard this song on Boomerang during those cartoon music video segments back when I was like 11 years old. Didnt find it again til I was 18. Always a nostalgic favorite for me.
Couldn't agree more. I'm so glad my daughters were the right age to have Cartoon Network on blast 8 hours a day while they simultaneously played computer games & such. I would be roaming here and there in the house and then I'd have to freaking stop in my tracks because that damn Cartoon Network would be showing something that had my eyes bugging out and my feet tapping. I'd say to myself... "and I thought *I* had grown up in the golden age, or one of them, for this stuff -- but this stuff is crazy good... it's so creative and --better-- just _crazy._" which is exactly what a channel called Cartoon Network should be. *crazy.*
RIP Edd Gould man everytime I listen to the opening of this song it takes me back to 2007 and it instantly reminds me of that Eddsworld halloween animation where the ghosts of the four main characters fly over the city at night. It's just one of those nostalgia triggers, you know the ones. Everyone has them. Anyway I had a lot more to say about this but i was on my playlist and the video automatically skipped to the next one so all my pre-typed comment got deleted and I can't remember what I wrote. I just remember when my best friend showed me eddsworld back in like 2006 when we were kids and I thought it was the dopest awesomest shit and if it wasn't for eddsworld I wouldn't have found all these awesome old alternative songs. This is obviously one of them.
Yessssss god yes. I didn't even cry when he died, I was just in shock. My mouth was open and I didn't know what to do, he created like 50% of my childhood entertainment at the time.
CACATUA 242 it's sop crazy man and it really shows shittiness of UA-cam and Animation on the internet these days. Kind of sad that those days and all that content will never happen again and that none of it lasted long enough for me.
I cried too... I still cry sometimes, getting nostalgic like this... I never got to meet him but if he were still alive and I ever had enough money to go to Britain... I'd have to look him up at least... :)
Thanks Edd Gould for this one. Eddsworld got me into some great music. 4 years and still miss looking forward to a new animation. New ones minus edd just aren't the same
Cartoon Network and Boomerang come to mind when hearing this tune! Hanna- Barbera characters walking around in The Flintstones' cave... Been in my head ever since!
I met the keyboardist at SXSW a few years ago. We were drinking at this fun bar with couches. He mentioned Soul Coughing and it didn't ring a bell at first but later we were talking about other stuff and then it came to me so I started singing the chorus of this song and he playfully pushed me over on the couch and whenever I would sit back up for the next 20 seconds he would push me over again. I was laughing so hard! He's cool. The couches were comfy so I didn't mind :D
I can't even think of when I heard this or where. I think it must have just been on the radio a lot back during some of the best years of my life. I was already a year out of HS and hadn't watched cartoons for a few years. The whole CN thing missed me completely. Totally forgot about this song until somebody randomly left the lyrics to the chorus in a WKUK vid comment section and it knocked loose some cobwebs. Still wasn't sure what or why, but I looked those words up and was led here and long story short I've been jamming on this old tune for a couple of days now. Nostalgia is a trip.
I can specifically remember this song coming on the radio when I was driving to Woodstock 99. Thought it was gonna be a great 3 days. Welllll. not so much, but it started off good when this song came on the radio. Loved this song back then. Still do.
I heard this for the first time on the radio yesterday and thought to myself, "Wow what a cool song. I can't believe this is new. It sounds like something from the 90s." Then I looked it up and had to laugh. Of course it isn't new..
Heard this first on Boomerang as a kid. Never found the song though. 10-12 years later I walk into a Marshall and hear this lol. Shazamed it right away
I miss having crazy, innocent imaginations. Thanks to whomever chose this song for Cartoon Network at the time I was able to catch a glimpse of it and remember the hook (I don't need to walk around in circles).
Just heard the MD Andrew Scrap Livingston interview on xm satellite radio. That sh%t was dope. Huge long haul fan...cant wait til my next MD show. Genius..
I'm sure this is probably unusual especially if you're from the Philippines but I remembered some commercial of GMA (a Philippine Channel) featuring either Drew Arellano or Ryan Agoncillo with this song playing in the background. I'm just glad I've found it.
look dude I cant tell you what to do, but if you're looking for girlfriends based on pfps on youtube, you're gonna end up getting into more than you asked for. I'd be a little bit more cautious from now on.
You ever have a moment where you start hearing a song you haven't even thought of in years in your head and suddenly start singing it because of situational context? This song was just that for me a few minutes ago, due to my wife lol
I remember hearing this song on an old UA-cam video of a dude playing Halo CE and shooting rockets out of a rocket hog while spinning the turret in circles.
First time I heard this song it was off the movie Walking Tall back when Dwayne Johnson was still establishing himself a movie star...good days good movie
Discovered this song from the show Felicity, but I don't think it made it past the original airing. They changed a lot of the songs for the DVDs and streaming.
I heard this in my German class and i was like that's from boomerang and my teacher said no it's my favourite American song And i was so happy hearing it
I see a lot of people saying Boomerang, but the music video actually premiered on Cartoon Network proper way back in '98, I was there, I remember it like it was yesterday
Curttehmurt yep!
aw i wish i remembered this.
My grandma loved this cd and bought it for me when she heard me singing it back in 98 lolololol because of the old video
My childhood right there
Its cause the video that made was of old hanana barbara cartoons
One of those songs that's stuck with me for most of my life after watching the music video on CN way back in the day. Some days at school it would just randomly play in my head for no reason at all. Most likely an earworm for me that'll never die.
Same
I feel ya. I don't even know why I like this song. I heard it for the first time yesterday, and I cannot get it out of my head, lol.
Yo bro I remember that music video! It’s wild that this always stuck w me as well!
Mee too! They were just walking around. For some reason it stuck with me.
Yes! Why? I couldn't have been older than what? Five? Six? Yet those lyrics stuck to me. I saw something on Boomerang. Wasn't it a gorilla just walking? Clips from episodes from whatever show. I can't recall. Maybe someone can remind me.

Crash ur car bc its insured anyways bc circles in general. Thx 90s
Me, who was 4 in 2009 -10 and isn't even 25 yet: Aw, man!
I was 17 in 1999 when I first heard this. It was a wonderous time.
I grew up as a teen in the first half of the 90's. Man life was great back then.
"When the gas runs out, just wreck it. You've insured the thing."
Looking at gas prices nowadays and it seems this guy has the right idea after all

Supremely underrated.
Interesting to know that the placement of that song on youth programming contributed to people buying the album it was on.
Just watched the lead singer of Soul Coughing perform this live last night. holy fucking nostalgia
+zepps88 but I cant sigh now that you made the move
Omg. I wish I could see that
Were Fred and Barney at the concert?
I didn’t discover the CN Groovies until years later since I don’t think they aired in the UK, but when I did see them this song hooked me instantly. Hasn’t left my head since.
The jukebox from the bowling alley I hung out at in high school brought me here.
Heard this song on Boomerang during those cartoon music video segments back when I was like 11 years old. Didnt find it again til I was 18. Always a nostalgic favorite for me.
I literally can not get enough of this song. Diggin' it.
I miss the old Cartoon Network. :(
what relation has this with Cartoon Network?
Back then Cartoon Network would have a short segment called "Groovies" and play music videos including this song, that was good times
Me too. The old Cartoon Network was awesome.
Couldn't agree more. I'm so glad my daughters were the right age to have Cartoon Network on blast 8 hours a day while they simultaneously played computer games & such. Everyone talking about Boomerang and CN, I remember when it just came on the radio as new music... Fuck I'm getting old
Same lol 😩😂
Me too!
The song came out in 1998, which is exactly the time period those people are referring to. You're probably the same age as those people. >.>
God's I need that Lazarus Pit.
I used to sing that at my old job while walking around in circles.

Erwin Rosales-Dardon yep! :(

Some songs just stay with you forever and this song is one of them! The Old Cartoon Network rocked!! :D

SmallvillenerdTwo I agree with you in full.

This song is just too good. -Pierce
One of my favorite songs in general. One of my earliest memories was listening to this song
Thanks Edd Gould for this one. Eddsworld got me into some great music. 4 years and still miss looking forward to a new animation. New ones minus edd just aren't the same
Yes
@CrypticFilmz it was in Halloween Special 2007
Its one of those songs that really gets to you if you listen to it drunk.
Agreed
Yeah for sure
Crazy how I didn't have to b drunk when I was a child to enjoy this song 😆

Over 13 years ago, I fruitlessly spent an afternoon looking for this song.
So now I found it. Huh.
I went through the same effort looking for Diamond Eyes by Deftones and found it after about the same number of years!
Good Ol Cartoon Network ! 96'
so 1996 is when this first appeared on Cartoon Network?
I was 22 seeing them at the Fox Theater in Boulder by 1998. Search Mike Doughty.

I didn't know they were still touring. Gotta see them. Too many memories.
Someone needs to make a 10 hour loop of the main chorus "Walk around in circles, walk around in circles, walk around in circles"
I might be a 2000’s kid but I still love this song
Gee... I don't remember buying more chairs.

+Vanessa Argodale Hey cutie

Cartoon Network Groovies brought me here 🤟🏿💯
That snare is the thing I always remember the most
I was 27 when this song hit our alternative radio station.
Me and the squad were talking about all the old boomerang music videos last night. What a time
I remember hearing this song on an old UA-cam video of a dude playing Halo CE and shooting rockets out of a rocket hog while spinning the turret in circles.
I think this is the catchiest song of all time
I got the sudden urge to walk around with cartoon characters in circles
Always come back to this song randomly. Boomerang used to be goated. Old Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon
