I looked more closely at Strings of Tundra yesterday and realized how brilliant it is to use velocity as a modifier to pitch. Started using that same concept in Retrologue today and sounds amazing!

Thanks very much Dom. Veru nice sounds and good demonstration. A question. Many sounds in has an knispering. ( maby a duth word?) not in the beginning but after a while when I use sustain pedal. I hear it much bij te "Glass "and Pluck of venus" Can I do anything to make that better?
The only thing I wish for from this synth is multiple defined start points, sweepable with modulation. So imagine 6 key points across a sample that the user has chosen as interesting. Then, say the modulation wheel can 'click' between these points that only change after the next key press. You could then use this to select, say the start of three/four different words or syllables etc, where currently just using the mod wheel set to position is hit and miss live and also the 128 resolution of midi often doesnt hit the sweet spot of a chosen 'syllable' or part of a sample. I'd find this very useable.
Odd you can't modulate the Mix A/B slider other than via Mod Wheel -- or a Mod lane, I guess. Can you use a secondary modulator in the Matrix to get that to happen? Not everyone wants to use this as a keyboard extension.

Hi Millard, the samples cannot be edited at the moment as far as I know but what you can do is load the preset and then go to the functions menu (next to the two notes icon) and initialize the layers so you can start from scratch using that sample :)

I have a Mac and I dropped a copy of Cinergy.vstsound into Library > Application Support > Steinberg > Content > Padshop > VST Sound and have run a re-scan via MediaBay and the Cinergy library still doesn’t show up under the right Media sidebar. Any recommendations?
For the life of me ... despite that it's located in it's default location ... I can't get Padshop2 to recognize Cinergy. I've tried other locations with no luck. Does it require an authorization code or Cubase? Need a little help here guys!
Hi, can someone advise. installed Cinergy and visible in library manager and vstsound folder. Rescanned and refreshed the MediaBay folder but no content is visible for either the regular vstsound folder or Dom's folder. Bit concerned incase I'm missing lots of regular sounds as well as these special ones of Dom's. Expect it's something simple. appreciate your help.

My two cents: All the sounds are demonstrated in midrange (except for one time, oct down button), I'd have liked to hear some very harsh higher notes. Don't ditch the S49, just more fiddling with the oct buttons, please. Video: How about close ups of the functions/panel boxes, then zoom out, so even beginners see the position and label of functions? (Or maybe coloured frames around said areas.) "Evil money grabbing Steinberg": Some folks complain about pricing and "too short grace periods", also having to pay for not major updates to Version.X .From my personal experience, it is hard to beat Native Instruments who back then updated my Reaktor 4 to Reaktor 5. Major update 3 years after purchase for fkn free. (And they aren't broke yet.) Now this is mindblowing too: Steinberg had that "3000 years of Cubase" party and you could get updates for 50% off. So I upgraded Padshop to Padshop Pro (drag and drop your own samples for 5€ is not worth pondering). And now there's Padshop 2 and I got it updated for free, regular update would have been 129€. So: Thanks a bunch for that, congrats for busting the too-thrifty complaining customers. With all the sounds Cubase delivers (Artist 10 here), how about making the greatest preset song of all times? Old treasures like Prologue and Groove Agent and HALion neatly building up, maybe just small voice inserts Tubular Bells-style, "Spector Preset number bla", maybe in the end, for a grand finale, sending a Yamaha Pacifica through Amp Rack. Working more shifts for UA-cam, ha! All that being typed, I thank you for your time reading this (you do, I've seen you through!), thanks for your support and instructional videos (and actually comprehensible manuals), and, of course, for making the best DAW. i hv downloaded and moved the vst sound to vst folder of padshop2 in my mac.. i,m able to see the cinergy in library manager but not in padshop2 in cubase .. help me out
@@DomSigalas .. hey hi.. thanks for the reply and for the precious time, i triple checked and i reinstalled padshop, followed the same procedure as i did before dragged and dropped the cinergy vst on the padshop section in the library manager, it got installed and finally it worked this time :)

Seems like you did everything right... Weird. Personally, I have placed all *.vstsound files in the \Content folder by using the Library Manager 'Move' function. So I got rid of the fragmented subfolders everywhere. Then I placed the Cinergy file in that location and confirmed as well the Library Manager sees it. In Cubase I have the library available.

Once again a huge hassle finding the presets. I am NOT in Cubase. Just using Padshop 2 as a plugin in Ableton. I installed Cinergy but it is NOT one of the choices in Padshop. Where are these supposed to be installed so they appear in padshop. Frustrating (again) - deja vu)

Padshop is using a lot of cpu power, and my Audio Performance Meter shows F* Y*!! Touching the maximum and Red zone, and Crackling Sound! But hey, within a day or two, I will make a Giant step into the future! From a 10 year old i7-930 CPU to a brandnew i9-9900K! with 64GB of Ram and an Asus Z930 mboard. I guess this will make a little difference! Oh YES!!!!

@Agent К If you double click the file it will automatically install and open in Steinberg Library manager. I believe that's how it installed on my PC.

Probably not as it used features unavailable in the older software.

if you are using windows, just drop the vstsound file in this folder: C:\ProgramData\Steinberg\Content\Padshop\VST Sound
Hey Mike, you just click on the preset browser window and you should find the libraries categorized nicely :) You don't need Cubase for this :)
