    This is an OUTSTANDING video.... it not only teaches you what steps are needed to make the right settings...it helps you to navigate through all of the variable setting options...and how to use them. I have had a number of tv's in my days but none with these many options.... Classy takes you through most of them and makes suggestions along the way. GREAT JOB, Classy!

    Very helpful video, thanks for the great effort. Just a suggestion, you might try to slow down a bit with jumping in the menus to match the narration, most of the time you're one step ahead and we have to pause and rewind constantly :)

    These videos are always useful, even if you are aware of most of what is discussed. One thing I will say about the “screen move” setting: people may want to consider using this as it helps combat image retention. With this setting ON, every so often, the tv will periodically move the entire image across the screen by a marginal amount. It’s barely noticeable and helps to prevent image retention.

    I did several tests on my 55-inch LG OLED C2 and my Xbox Series X and several games.
    In Dolby Vision, peak brightness increases from 800 to 1000 nits compared to HDR.
    Theoretically this would be good because it has a brighter screen, but the dynamic tone mapping in some games is disrupted, unlike with HDR and HGiG enabled.
    In HDR, HGiG enhances areas containing lighting by up to 800 nits. So much so that you must notice when switching from HGiG to dynamic tone mapping that in HGiG it gets darker, but that's not it, the image is really dark, and HGiG has the function of highlighting the illuminated areas, so much so that in darker areas clear, HGiG makes the screen brighter, if you switch to mapping it tends to stay the same or get darker.
    In DV, it is as if dynamic mapping was enabled at all times but trying to correct the HGiG brightnesses, but in darker areas it acts in a way that the shadows are lighter than they should be.
    I was playing Resident Evil 4 remake with DV and in a part of the castle, where there should be black shadows, they were reddish.
    For some reason DV doesn't work 100% perfectly with games as it should. So it's better to use HDR for a more accurate image.

    Great video.
    I have a few questions regarding this amazing smart tv. I just bought a LG OLED48C2PUA just over Thanksgiving. My questions are these:
    1. I have some legacy equipment VHS, Hi8, and Laser disc player. Can I dedicate an HDMI switcher to connect this players. Of course, I will need both RCA for VHS and Laser Disc player, and an SVHS to HDMI converters. Do I need to change the TVs HDMI settings. Do you recommend any particular aftermarket vendors for this equipment.
    2. Should I connect a cable box via the coaxial connectors, how is this seen in the TVs input menus…. Live TV?
    I realize that these are less quality sources.
    3. I have A Sonos sound bar attached as a HDMI arc. I also have a receiver with attached to front and back high end ceiling speakers… legacy Bang and Olefson. Can I get the external speakers work when the sound bar hdmi arc is chosen or must I switch to TV speakers with external via optical or audio
    coaxial? Again, some of this may be counter intuitive as far as ultimate sound quality but “just askin.”
    Thanks again!!!!

      My advice would be to try something like warm 30 and allow yourself a few days to get used to it. By that point I imagine, a bluish tint should be apparent after altering it to a colder tone, say, 0 as you mentioned.
      I personally find Warm 50 far too green, no matter how much I've used it. But I do believe the content that you watch has a bearing on this perception also. Anyway, my point is, once you've allowed yourself time with a warmer colour tone, you should be able to see the negatives of both warm and cold, and can then find yourself a happy medium. Mine was 32 for a while. I'm pretty much content with warm 40 now. Hope this helps (most likely doesn't 🤣)

      I have the 42 C2 and experimented with his HDR setting for film and they work just like he mentioned since I did notice the LG was making certain darker scenes a bit too bright and with that creating odd banding. I turned it off and let my Panasonic 420 with it's HDR optimizer do the tone mapping and it works like a charm just as shown here. The scenes is a bit darker and but most of the banding is gone in darker scenes.

    I had high hopes for this video, but ended up disappointed. Your voice-over lags the menu shown, you skip over just about half of the settings, and you do't explain things other than to say "you can mess with this if you want to." I just bought a G2 and find the setup tedious and confusing. I can't find any way to town down the brightness and saturation of the home screen as the TV seems to ignore any picture mode or setting. I hoped to learn something here, but after 8 minutes, I learned seen anything that I didn't already know from stepping through the menus over and over. Also, it appears that your camera is on auto so whenever you make a visible change on the TV, the camera counteracts it. It is clearly visible that the background table lamps keep changing in brightness.

    Hello Classy Tech. I want to understand Tru motion clarity settings. I live in the UK and regular TV I believe is shown at 50/60Hz or 50/60fps. I also watch Netflix which i understand is 24fps. Can you recommend De-judder and De-blur settings in this scenario please?

    Great video. Love your content. Quick question does the LG G2 suffer from the same colour brightness issue as the G3 in game mode. I’m returning the G3 because it dims the highlights so much in comparison to the total screen brightness. Was this a notable issue on the G2?

    • @ClassyTechCalibrations
      @ClassyTechCalibrations  4 місяці тому

      G2 slightly reduces color luminance in game mode compared to movie modes. The G3 movie modes are considerably brighter which makes the difference in game mode more noticeable.

    • @marcaston924
      @marcaston924 4 місяці тому

      @@ClassyTechCalibrations great thanks, so for gaming in a dark room the G2 should be a decent experience? I can get the G2 for about 60% of the cost of the G3 so thinking of going with that.

    • @ClassyTechCalibrations
      @ClassyTechCalibrations  4 місяці тому +1

      @@marcaston924 it's roughly the same as the G3, though the G3 can get white highlights brighter.

      @@ClassyTechCalibrations yeah I think that’s what threw me off. The contrast between white and colour meant the colours got lost a bit and didn’t have that pop I was expecting.

I am scared … and for Day time view you suggest gamma 2.2… it’s not bt.1886 the most accurate anyway??? I can use it also in bright room?

    Based off of today's news on the new C3, do you think the C2 will be the better buy in the coming months or do you think the C3 will be worth the premium price it will command over the C2? My assumption is 77' C2 for $2,399 vs 77' C3 for ~$3k.

      After looking into the spec differences between the two, definitely go with the C2 and go big. Now, when comparing my 2019 C9 to the C2, there was a drastic difference in brightness/overall color, as well as adding Freesync, and increasing VRR to 120hz.

      Get the C2. Save the money and invest in better sound system or get Phillips hue lights to add ambient lighting that syncs with the tv picture($400)

    Is it possible to calibrate colours and white balance at different signal levels in the Game Optimizer mode the way it's possible in other picture modes like the Expert ones? Does it allow to set color space at auto? Or you're basically stuck with panel's native performance if you want optimized latency?

    Has anyone had trouble with “lean back” using the table top stand with the 77” C2. I got a 77” CX a couple of years ago, and the TV leaned back about 1.5” from vertical: the Best Buy installation crew couldn’t get it any more vertical, so I returned it.

    Great explanation off everything..keep up the good job and thank you.
    Second… I have an LG oled C2 77 inch..and I also do own the 2 consoles that are out now, the ps5 and Xbox series x.
    On both when they are on the game optimiser from LG is automatic selected.
    I’ve did all the settings correct but when I go to aspect ratio , under just scan it says auto and it’s greyed out.. and I cannot change this.. this is on the pa5 but also on the Xbox series X.
    Do you maybe have an idea why is the just scan greyed out only in game optimiser mode and only on the consoles?
    And also if it’s related to the just scan issue, but the screen sometimes has a little bit of the right edge from top to bottom where the pixels are turned of, and then after a time it moves to the left side and sometimes to the top side and so on. Do you have any idea on why is it so?Is that how screen move feature works ?
    Thank you very much!
