A processional analysis of both vocalists would be unique and awesome. NOT to pick one or the other, but to just see how this one band managed to have two amazing singers who contributed to the legacy of the band. I truly love both, I can't pick one as better, but they were uniquely different. What would be similar? What would be different? It would be an interesting different type of reaction video.
Life long rock fan here - I've heard this song probably 519 times, but watching AC DC perform with that rock n' roll joy and such a charismatic front man - Legends. Thanks, Elizabeth !
This is the music that I listened to in junior high and high school before I went on to start my years in the Marines I still listen to them today they are one helluva band 🇺🇸👊🏼👊🏼AC⚡️DC Can rock thehouse no matter what song they are playing they could rock ring around the Rosie
AC/DC - Let There Be Rock (Apollo Theatre, Glasgow, April 1978) and AC/DC - Whole Lotta Rosie (1979 Paris) Are 2 great Live performances with Bon Scott from the late 70s. Plus you get to see Angus running around the stage, he never stops moving, hes like the energizer bunny.
As much as I love Bon Scott, his vocals weren't that great. you can argue he was more charismatic. but vocally, Brian took them to a whole another level.
I've noticed over time that you seem to understand, enjoy and have a respect for the rock music that all rock fans have enjoyed for years. It's lovely to see you put this genre of music more firmly on the map.
AC/DC concerts are amazing. The one I went to in LA had a crowd that could of been at Disneyland. Elderly ladies, young children and whole families. It was so cool to see older ladies rocking out. A clear example of the universal love of an excellent rock band.
It is SO COOL watching such an accomplished and respected woman totally GEEK OUT over hearing this for the first time!!😍 It's so endearing and brings back memories of all of US hearing it new!😃
This was so great! One of the reasons I love your channel so much is that these songs we have heard so many times before become even more fun with your breakdowns of them. Looking forward to more AC/DC breakdowns! Thank you, Elizabeth!
Oh my gosh, I never considered the time delay of sound travel in large auditoriums. I can imagine that in-ears would be critical for proper timing. I've always thought that the wave of jumping audiences was just people off time. The most amazing thing I have learned in a long time! Thank you for that morsel of information!
When Elizabeth talked about the echo in stadiums bouncing off the walls and coming back at the singer (and the possibility of that throwing off their timing), it reminded me of an old standup routine by Elayne Boosler that I’ve never forgotten. She talked about how she was offered the chance to sing The Star-Spangled Banner at a baseball game, and that someone mentioned “You might want to wear earplugs-BIG echo.” She said she couldn’t sing with earplugs and she’d just deal with it, not thinking the echo would be a real problem. She hesitated, then said, “Halfway through The Star-Spangled Banner, I hear myself BEGIN The Star-Spangled Banner!” She did a hilarious reenactment of it with her own recorded voice acting as the echo. As the echo came in, she sang slower and slower until the echo “caught up” with her, and she and her echo finished the song together 😆 If you can find a clip of it (I think the title of the standup special was Live Nude Girls), it is great!
Saw them live in 2009... what a shitshow. Brian spend most of the concert doing faces..or his singing face, whatever that is. Have listened to ac/dc for almost 40 years. Have all the albums. But after back in black, there aint an album that truly rocks. A few good tracks here and there. But for me Brians screaming voice and the "ac/dc formula" on every track is just boring and lazy.
@@simonlauridsen4825 Sadly would have to agree. I know it's a horrible cliche, but their earlier stuff is the best - peak AC/DC being Powerage, Let There Be Rock, and High Voltage. As you say, there are a few decent bits and pieces post-Bon, but mostly they've become a cookie-cutter producer of dad rock. Like professional sport, popular music is largely a young person's purview, and stand-out performances decrease with age. Players are often compelled by their own ego/manager/finances to keep trying to perform even when they've reached a natural end to their competitiveness/creativity and it usually doesn't end well.
@@simonlauridsen4825 i call it the constipated sound. Brian sounds like he's all backed up and struggling to go. i agree 100% they never were the same after B in B which leads me to believe most of B in B came from Bon's song book
I have travelled the highway to hell more times than I care to remember. It is Perth's (Western Australia) Canning Highway from Canning Bridge to Fremantle. The most notorious spot on the highway was Death Valley, the intersection of Canning Highway and Preston Point Road/McKimmie Road. In both directions, you approach the intersection driving down a kilometre hill and there have been many fatalities with excessive speeds and intoxicated patrons exiting the Leopold Hotel. In circa 1980 McKimmie Road was modified to a cul-de-sac and it is left turn only when exiting Point Walter Road. In March 2020 Perth held a Highway To Hell Festival. From 1966 t0 1970 Bon Scott was in The Valentines and after their gigs in Perth would travel that highway to his home in Beaconsfield, a suburb in Fremantle.
Brian really did a great job taking over lead after Bon passed away, and this is from someone who's favorite lead of all time is Bon Scott. Speaking of Bon, did you know he had some hit songs BEFORE AC/DC with a couple of pop groups in the 60s? It's pretty fun to see and hear him with those groups before he got huge.
And this is why I love listening in UA-cam concert versions. The radios turn music into something regular and well known. I love to see life performances.
You absolutely nailed why AC/DC has been so successful for so many decades: their music is fun, their performances are fun. That crowd isn't just listening, it's partying with them, understandably so too. Easily one of my top three concert I've been to if not the best outright was one of theirs. It's always highly entertaining to watch and listen as you discover songs I've loved since I was a teen (quite some time ago). Thank you. See you again soon.
Another timeless band, whom have never stopped enjoying what they do, no matter what got in their way. I think like the Classics, they will never go away. :)
More AC/DC! Yes! I really couldn't believe Elizabeth had never ran into them at some place or event, they used to be everywhere, before rock was censured out of the public square! 😁😁 Is there a chance for Seven Spires? Really fun and creative band with a lot of diverse stuff in their short catalog...
i must tell you that... you have the best reaction to videos compared to anyone else. your reactions are pure and fanciful. both in a classical music arena to a gut wrenching "assault of the senses" mentality. i enjoy your analysis more than a lot of other things i could be watching. high praise.
You also have to realize these guys absolutely LOVE what they do and every member are in their mid 60's to mid 70's today and they still put on a high energy show. Now this video was shot I think in 2009 or maybe 2011 I don't remember, at River Platte in South America in a soccer stadium and the audience was every thing from 18 to 60 and they were literally losing their minds. I've been a fan since the late 70's.
There are bands that explore different sounds. Their albums are sometimes risky. Other bands have a formula. AC/DC is the epitome of a band that has a formula that it protects vigorously. Sometimes ya' just gotta give the people what they want!
Didn’t Angus say, “I’m sick of hearing people say we’ve made eleven albums that sound exactly the same. In fact we’ve made twelve albums that sound exactly the same.” 😂
That grit you talk about in Brian’s voice is what contrasts him so much over Bon’s vocals. They each have an amazing voice with the band, but it adds such a unique flavor and vibe to the overall feel.
AC/DC are one of those bands where if you've heard one song, you've heard them all... But still gotta hear all the other songs, over and over again. This was the first song of the encore. Not only did the horns disappear, but Angus is playing an entirely different guitar at that point!
I'd disagree a bit there. Yes, AC/DC have their recipe with 2 guitars, bass, drums, vocals, rock music, that's it, but if you listen to Cold hearted man and Given the dog a bone, two of their greatest songs in my opinion, they're quite different. And I would say there was a greater variation during the Bon Scott years. Beating around the bush vs Overdose. There's a different vibe, feeling, tempo. So they're not Rolling Stones or Led Zeppelin, but you can explore their different sounds and feels through their catalogue, especially with Bon.
Omg, first time I see Elizabeth react to the crazy Argentinian crowd! Also this was played as an encore after "Let There be Rock", such an amazing live performance from them. Thanks for your reactions and explanations 🤘🤘
Welcome to the world of Acdc Elizabeth! They IMMEDIATELY make u happy.....its all in the pocket....the groove....simply the greatest hard rock band in history❤
My favorite band but I believe I suffered permanent hearing damage on the Black Ice Tour. Blue Oyster Cult was extremely loud first time I saw them too. Shell-shocked.
@@johndef5075 yeah my ears probably rung for two days, I saw them on the Flick of the switch tour. I’m pretty sure it was the cannons that finished me off.
Interesting that you bring out how AC/DC leaves "space" in their songs. They are written for concerts and audience participation, and they never disappoint.
Angus is an incredible guitarist, thanks to his remarkable work ethic. Even decades after making it big, he was still getting up early to work on chords or other guitar work.
I believe there's a quote from AC/DC concerning the "empty" places in their music, "What you don't play is just as important as what you do." (or something very similar) This is a key to the great concert sound. If you can, go see them live. It's an experience that you will NEVER forget!
If it wasn't stated already this song was the second to the last song on the concert set list. Love your energy in all your videos and the respect and admiration you show for music. Best wishes to you and your family.
I don't know about a rollercoaster (would you even be able to hear music on a rollercoaster?) but there used to be a fair ride simply called "Rock & Roll" that played loud music. There's two variations that I can remember, one was classic rock themed with juke boxes and Cadillacs and the other was metal themed and blared ACDC, Guns N Roses and the like.
Brian is such a cool guy. That's 2 songs you've done with him older. I'd love to see you watch him younger and hear his best. It's a gravelly paradise, that voice of his!
Hoping you also do a deeper dive on Bon Scott's time with AC/DC. One of my personal favorites goes completely against expectations and is a stripped down, pure blues song called Ride On. It's beautifully done. Also, another recommendation to check out UA-cam's own IronMouse. Her story and singing is truly amazing.
I read Brian Johnson's book (the life of brian) and he said when recording Back in Black album the producer was pushing him to "unlock" and sing in higher notes, but he was impressed he could do that. As per the lyrics, it was an insane work in those weeks, Malcom and Angus used to give him riffs every night and asked him what could he do with them.
Brilliant observation and comments about the “wave”. I have watched this entire concert hundreds of times and never considered the “wave” effect as it relates to the crowd movements relative to the sound waves. Now that you have pointed this out, the live performance is even more enjoyable……and remarkable to watch. I love your analysis of this and other videos. Thank you for making us casual music lovers better appreciate the nuance of voice, instrument, set, and stage. I used to just enjoy the show with my pedestrian appreciation and musical likes. Now, I see every performance in a new way!
Pardon my language, but I fucking love this kind of show. I was in tears of joy watching you savor the song.. the Live Show at River Plate is something to behold, I highly recommend taking a moment to watch the whole thing.. these guys are such performers! 🤘🏼 Thank you again for showing how much joy can be found in music! I love laughing with you seeing you lavish the moment in songs like this (I'm biased because i love this song i suppose 😝) AMAZING💥
Would love to see you do an analysis of Lynyrd Skynyrd. Literally any song by them is amazing. Just make sure you do a live version. They are 10x better live. Probably one of the top bands to play better live than in studio. Tuesday's gone, simple man, searchin, freebird, T for Texas, railroad song, or travelin man are all good ones to do. But with skynyrd, there are no bad ones.
love what you're doing here! so accessible and such a great hook for people who want to learn more about music theory and the science/techniques of vocal performance. People have obviously shown mass support by numbers, but sometimes it's nice to remember that each one is a person whose been impacted by this for the better. keep exploring and we'll keep learning and growing alongside ya! :)
I love the way you shed light on some things that we hear but don't even realize are there. It clears up what it means to be that incredible on stage. Great Video!
It makes even a lot of fun to see you, how much fun you have by listening to *the* song by AC/DC. It looks like you have as much fun at listening like AC/DC performing. They love what they do :)
You can have your Bon/Brian debates, I could care less. I just glad AC/DC found Brian as I was not ready for the band to end in 1980. 40 plus more years rock n roll excellence. AC/DC, we salute you
He has an incredible speaking voice also. You REALLY need to interview him! He's right up there with Dave Grohl as one of the nicest rockstars you'll ever meet!
Watching you giggle while analyzing this clip exemplifies what AC/DC was all about, FUN! The band members were all down to earth great guys and their music rocked! The AC/DC beat always got everyone up and dancing and just having a great time.
Well... I discovered AC/DC many, many years ago. I have them in almost every play list. Now I discover them once again. Different point of view. Thank you Madame!!!! Always a pleasure watching your chanel ❤
ACDC live were pure raw energy. You can't sit still from beginning to end. Such an infectious sound. I think Brian is now deaf and also had vocal issues. Axl Rose had to step in to finish a world tour with them a while back. He did an excellent job too. I love Brian's voice on Razor's Edge, huge song :)

I bet Brian would agree to an interview. He's a really down to earth chap, and has a great UA-cam channel of his own.

NOT to pick one or the other, but to just see how this one band managed to have two amazing singers who contributed to the legacy of the band. I truly love both, I can't pick one as better, but they were uniquely different. What would be similar? What would be different? It would be an interesting different type of reaction video.
BON ❤
Yes I prefer Bin
Angus and Malcolm are the absolute KINGS of rythm and silence: music is not only built on melody and harmony; above all, it's built on TIME.
Life long rock fan here - I've heard this song probably 519 times, but watching AC DC perform with that rock n' roll joy and such a charismatic front man - Legends.
Thanks, Elizabeth !
520 now.
Take care that you not a fan of rock in an echo chamber. Music exists outside of this genre and it is not the end all be all of existence.
This is the music that I listened to in junior high and high school before I went on to start my years in the Marines I still listen to them today they are one helluva band 🇺🇸👊🏼👊🏼AC⚡️DC Can rock thehouse no matter what song they are playing they could rock ring around the Rosie
They kinda did. I have a live Bon Scott version of them doing Whole Lotta Rosie.
Johnson seems like such a great guy in interviews. Maybe you can interview him sometime about his voice
No other band does a live show quite like ACDC. Off the charts energy and excitement!
And sound decibels!!
Nightwish
Iron Maiden
@markagius8900 Iron Maiden is a great band, but they are no ACDC.
@@markagius8900they are legend , but in live performance Acdc was way more badassddd
I'm always happy to see AC/DC! I'd love to see you do "Let There Be Rock" live at the Apollo Theater in 1978. They were young, hungry, and on fire!
I know where your coming from I was there acdc at their rarest best
Another thing I've always loved about this band is when they're back stage they're not getting drunk and crap. They were chilling and sipping on tea.
Well, Angus maybe. Bon and Mal (before getting help) not so much
AC/DC - Let There Be Rock (Apollo Theatre, Glasgow, April 1978) and AC/DC - Whole Lotta Rosie (1979 Paris)
Are 2 great Live performances with Bon Scott from the late 70s. Plus you get to see Angus running around the stage, he never stops moving, hes like the energizer bunny.
Great suggestions! Sooner or later she’s gonna have to check out the old stuff
yes
As much as I love Bon Scott, his vocals weren't that great. you can argue he was more charismatic. but vocally, Brian took them to a whole another level.
@@boooozeedI strongly disagree. I never cared for Brian's vocals. Bon is one of my favorites.
@@stevenscharmer1765 Brian's vocals are objectively better, that's why even vocal coaches prefer him over Bon.
Aaahhh..! The nostalgia..! 🥲 two hours of pure awe! Cheers from Argentina!
One of my all time fav tunes is Brian Johnson singing House of the Rising Sun with his previous band, Geordie. Best version ever! Ever!
Only one rule to remember with AC/DC. Never, never, never interrupt an Angus Young guitar solo.
"For those about to Rock" is the song to analyse every aspect of Brian Johnson vocal, I mean, that song take everything he's got !!
The best reactor reacting to the best rock band… BRILLIANT! Thank u! U made my day!
As glad as I am too see more AC/DC analysis videos. I wish that you would have done a Bon Scott version of this song.
BIG TRUE
Would've been great if it was Bon. AC/DC without Bon is just like a good AC/DC cover band
Brian has done a extraordinary job for AC/DC ! Like he was born for that role!
The Valentines
And this is why I love listening in UA-cam concert versions. The radios turn music into something regular and well known. I love to see life performances.
really appreciate your insights and genuine reactions to wicked tracks. much love from AUS 🤘❤️🦘
Is there a chance for Seven Spires? Really fun and creative band with a lot of diverse stuff in their short catalog...
i must tell you that... you have the best reaction to videos compared to anyone else. your reactions are pure and fanciful. both in a classical music arena to a gut wrenching "assault of the senses" mentality. i enjoy your analysis more than a lot of other things i could be watching. high praise.
This was the 18th song (of 19 total) in the concert and actually the first song in the encore. It was right after Angus Young's guitar solo.
WOWOWO::: saw them in Italy at Imola circuit .. a huge crowd... they deserved it all ... OMG what a Show ...
Incredible live energy. I've had the pleasure of seeing them a dozen times or so.
River plate's footage is mixed from the 3 concerts they did there on the tour.
I like this song as much as any casual listener, but you have given me a whoooooole new appreciation!
AC/DC is without a doubt the loudest concert I have ever been to.
Deep Purple was even louder.😅😅😅
Interesting that you bring out how AC/DC leaves "space" in their songs. They are written for concerts and audience participation, and they never disappoint.
Angus is an incredible guitarist, thanks to his remarkable work ethic. Even decades after making it big, he was still getting up early to work on chords or other guitar work.
Brian Johnson is the energizer bunny of hard rock. So many memories cone back with AC/DC
Playing "Highway to Hell" on a rollercoaster sounds about right! 😂 Rollercoasters are terrifying to me! Looking forward to your analysis!
One of my personal favorites goes completely against expectations
and is a stripped down, pure blues song called Ride On. It's beautifully done.
Also, another recommendation to check out UA-cam's own IronMouse. Her story and singing is truly amazing.
ride on is not rock just a straight blues number
Ride On and Down Payment Blues, you just know that Bon has been there. Awesome.
When the crowd bounces it's like "Shake the building - Blow the roof". -- Priceless
Thank you again for showing how much joy can be found in music! I love laughing with you seeing you lavish the moment in songs like this (I'm biased because i love this song i suppose 😝)
AMAZING💥
Would love to see you do an analysis of Lynyrd Skynyrd. Literally any song by them is amazing. Just make sure you do a live version. They are 10x better live. Probably one of the top bands to play better live than in studio. Tuesday's gone, simple man, searchin, freebird, T for Texas, railroad song, or travelin man are all good ones to do. But with skynyrd, there are no bad ones.
Four Walls of Raiford
Yes Live
" Travlin Man"
Live at Kensworth!
"Call Me the Breeze" or "The Ballad of Curtis Lowe".
freebird and sweet home alabama were their only big hits
Tuesday's Gone is probably my favourite song of all time
I've got to find someone who looks at me the way Elizabeth listens to music! So much love for the craft. Love this channel.
love what you're doing here! so accessible and such a great hook for people who want to learn more about music theory and the science/techniques of vocal performance. People have obviously shown mass support by numbers, but sometimes it's nice to remember that each one is a person whose been impacted by this for the better. keep exploring and we'll keep learning and growing alongside ya! :)
one of the best reactions to such a great song. Love the explanations of the vocals.. And they are coming back to Australia in 2024!! I'll be there!
Bon Scott was the original vocalist for AC/DC. He had an extremely unique voice. Passed in 1980, RIP.
I love the way you shed light on some things that we hear but don't even realize are there. It clears up what it means to be that incredible on stage. Great Video!
Should of gone with Bon Scott's original version, but Brian' s take on it is still pretty good
I concur, this song with Bon Scott
AC/DC died with Bon.
That’s what I thought too.
Maybe do Bon Scott version next and do a comparison! Both are Amazing it’s interesting to see how they approach it differently!
Not close.
It makes even a lot of fun to see you, how much fun you have by listening to *the* song by AC/DC. It looks like you have as much fun at listening like AC/DC performing. They love what they do :)
This is Argentina!!!! my people!!! my country!!!! Land of Football and Rock and Roll!!!!!
More Bon Scott analysis please 😊
He got his hearing fixed, they came out with a new album in 2020 called power up after Malcom passed it is absolutely incredible!!!
@@mentalbreak4653 thanks for the update, since the pandemic and the way news is today, hard to siphon out the real from the not, so glad to see he's back firing on most cylinders. I will def check that out :)
Amazing. I remember watching these guys >40 years ago. Sounds as good
Watching your video's really brings back a lot of music theory that I had long forgotten. It really makes me wish I would have stayed with throughout my life, rather than letting it go decades ago. Keep doing what you do, love it!
