Humiliated Boris Johnson forced from power - BBC News

- The British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been forced to announce that he is stepping down, after days of political turmoil.
Mr Johnson made the statement in Downing Street after more than 50 ministers resigned from his government. The final crisis for Mr Johnson began with the resignation of his Chancellor Rishi Sunak and Health Secretary Sajid Javid.
It followed a series of scandals and accusations that Mr Johnson lacked honesty and integrity and had repeatedly lied to his party and the country.
Mr Johnson said he would remain in post until a new leader is chosen by his Conservative Party. However some senior Conservatives have called on him to leave office immediately.
Huw Edwards present BBC News at Ten reporting by political editor Chris Mason.

I don't really follow politics but it really is incredible how brutal it all is. From leading the Conservatives to their biggest victory in three decades to being forced out less than three years later. It's amazing how it can all unravel so quickly.
Politics is as volitile and as disloyal as a playground popularity contest.

Agree, changing a leader (for a party at No 10 FFS) has zero effect on global events and circumstances.
Most of the squeeze and suffering in the country today is from outside forces no single country has control over, and it usually is most of the time.
Covid came from China and was allowed to spread via CCP and WHO lied about human to human transmission and covered their lab f up. This has knackered the global supply chain.
Russia is still invading, (albeit poorly), the breadbasket of Europe and Africa in a violent, needless campaign to scrape their dying motherland together to distract from their people from their collapsing economy and the state sucking a fat one.
The global repercussions of this unfounded war led to energy dependency crises that the free world should never have got into in the first place since the cold war sort of ended. This includes our intertwined overdependence on China for every product under the sun we can shave a few dollars off.
Oh and lets not forget, unfortunately Covid, the war, economic fallout, climate change, lack of movement on clean energy and sustainability solutions worldwide and CCP China aren't going away anytime soon.
It is a mess out there and as we take part in a global economy, we are always going to experience the shockwaves.
Too true. It’s not all his fault
All the talk over HIS humilation. Most the country was being humiliated by him in the PMs position.

About time some adults, regardless of their political affilation, in the room make themselves heard. Johnson's main claim is that he delivered Brexit. Well, he never did. Because his Brexit move was never a sincere endeavour on his part. Just a self-serving plot. And too many Brits (well at least, 52% per cent of them, if memory serves) fell for it, and swallowed it, line, hook and sinker. And he never followed up on the consequences. And there you are. It was a disaster waiting to happen. All the signs were there from the onset, loud and clear. And yet, behaving like in the grip of some of magical thinking, too many Brits allowed this to happen. @@ElandBee yes he was...the opposition in his own party
@@martynhaggerty2294 Only some of them.
nice little hemmingway quote in there right at the end there, bet he was proud of that.
He was a lieing Liberal not a Conservative at all.
David Cameron - gambled on Brexit for votes, lost. Theresa May, completely wasted entire brexit preparstions, and made mockery of the UK for europe. Boris, 10x worse than the previous 2 combined. How the hell did he manage that. Lets see what the conservatives can deliver next
Cause he’s Boris.
Buddha said "nothing is impossible"
ua-cam.com/video/SA72xMlwoU8/v-deo.html
Fraud. Computers used to add up the votes were "hacked".
Lets see what the conservatives can deliver next? It if i had to put money on it i would want to study the form and try and see if i could see a trend. You know what? I can. And it's exponentially downwards.
@@will123134 . BREXIT has not been fully delivered. Plus, where are the savings promised?
More equal than others Boriska, Tony the Knight and the global laundromat in London are the greatest embarrassment for Britons in the entire history of the UK
🇬🇧 Tragedy
The shameful history of Britain is all about misappropriation of power and wealth.
Blessings 😌💖
All the others stayed on May etc... so what is different with Boris
Apparently 3 other prime ministers have stayed on after handing in their resignation. We still need a leader until he goes.
Indeed. It is the norm.
@M.E LightSpeedy Tony Blair, David Cameron, Theresa May
@@garethhanby none of these people stayed on as PM. Do you mean that they stayed on as an MP because they definitely didn't stay on as Prime Minister after they resigned as PM.
@@funnylilnarutogal2 Neither has Boris. Boris has only resigned as leader of his party. All of them announced their resignation, but stayed on as PM. Thatcher left the same day she resigned and Major took over. Harold Wilson could be included as well but that was all his idea.
Lead yourself, stop agreeing with these unelected officials
They are fleecing us like mad on everything man he had to go
Totally right , the Tories bringing in high tax
I love how BBC just cannot manage a politically neutral title EVER. "Humiliated" says who? Just report the news, we don't need you to editorialize the truth for us.
I reckon we should scrap the TV licence and make the BBC fund themselves using advertisements.
0:45 just didn't want to hear your voice
*Will Boris require a wooden stake through his heart to keep him down?*
*One wonders…* 🤔
And a silver bullet, an Olympic-sized swimming pool of Holy Water, and a rail-car full of garlic.
Lies, fraud and chaos is a great way to describe Boris’s time in office.
No matter who you put in that position, the outcome will always be the same
It is the ONLY way to describe his circus.
Or an apt way to describe American politics!! You brits will also outshine us, despite some party buffoons. Sadly, Congress lacks the guts and instinct to challenge one of their own, and the American people believe anything FOX News tells them.
HAVE YOU HAD ENOUGH, HAVE YOU HAD ENOUGH YET, HAVE YOU, IS IT ENOUGH, IS IT.
You gotta hand it to him. He has a perfect record of being sacked or forced out of every job he has ever had.
Omg I just noticed the benny hill music 🤣
Least we forget: What it is to be a Tory.
- I voted for racism towards migrants and got it.
- I voted for low wages for working-age people and got it.
- I voted for poverty so extensive that we went from zero foodbanks to more foodbanks than McDonald's franchises in just 12 years, and that's what we got.
- I voted for endless strikes and got them.
- I voted for collapsing infrastructure, from schools to prisons to railways to courts to roads, and got all of them in spades.
- I voted to close clinics and GP practices all over the country for an under-resourced, understaffed, underfunded, and increasingly privatised NHS and got them.
- I voted for an unprecedented surge in child poverty and homelessness and got it.
- I voted for historic diseases to come back and got them.
- I voted for financial mismanagement on a scale never seen before and got it.
- I voted to dump raw sewage in our rivers and sea, kill our pets and destroy our environment, and got it.
- I voted for the UK to be controlled by hostile powers and others and got it.
- I voted for the highest cost of living since the war, and got it.
- I voted for one of the highest death rates per capita in the developed world, and got it.
- I voted to have all my human rights removed, and got it.
- I voted for no Brexit plan and got it or not, you know what I mean.
- I voted for liars and villainy in public office and got them in spades.
- I voted for the restart of the NI wars and looks like I'm going to get it.
- I voted for the real issues to be ignored and get distracted by petty, spiteful antics and got that in spades.
- I voted to remove our and future generation's options and freedoms and got it.
- I voted to have repeat serial sex offenders and narcissists in office and got them in spades.
- I voted to have the Propaganda media push culture wars and make it their No.1 priority to keep the tories in, and I got it.
I do wish you all stop complaining. Our leaders need to concentrate on the next disasters they are making and who to blame for them, oh make you believe that if Labour got in, it would be worse!
This list, for the most part, is based on voting records, and guess what it's like 99% Tory MPs that voted for this not labour, this list is not as glib as you may think first off.
- votes.parliament.uk/
why are you this ? what is wrong with you?
Cucked labour soyboy
😲Damn !!!! And I thought Joe Biden got it all wrong???!!!!! (😝)🇺🇲
You all look the same low testosterone receding hairline and bad eyesight
Your talking Shite lmao
I just pray the same happens with our Draghi, here in Italy.DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
He has a lot of guts and keeps his cool he does have the bullshit to be a leader. He is persuasive and charismatic
Give it 3 days and he’ll properly resign and hopefully find a new hobby.
maybe learn how to throw great parties lol.
Maybe he will be going back to the sheep farm....isn't that where he gets his hair?
Good luck to him
I'm worried for Carrie's future. Everytime Boris goes into a new line of work, he gets a new wife.
When Boris does go his future earnings will be huge. He took an 80% pay cut t become PM.
Well it’s like this
You finally come home and catch a burglar in your home
You call the police,
But police responded by saying; “ we will try to get there by next week “
so I assume you must feed and take care of the
Burglar for the next several days 👀 watch every one of his moves 😂😂
And if you try to defend yourself against the burglar and you hurt him in any way you will be punished beyond belief but it's ok for the burglar to hurt you or damage your property as much as he pleases.
It's... Dam I love the UK! Such a theater!!!! 🤩
You should have resolved issues rather than make them worse
The BBC has a lot to answer for
Question Time has a lot to answer for.
To misquote Douglas Adams, "So long and thanks for all the lies"
Instead of “No tea” it was “No truth”.
Boris offered up something that was almost, but not quite, entirely unlike the truth.
It is called vengeance to be unnecessary partial.
Oh the vultures, the vultures. The fact is that Parliament as a whole pretty much has no credibility. I am an old man and have never known a period where public confidence in our elected Parliament has been at such a low. I have no idea what party to vote for at the next election.
