I might be in the wrong channel commenting this, but even if prices drop, these are cool cards that we can just be happy to own and collect without expecting monetary return. This hobby is becoming way too focused on money, just be glad we can more easily collect these!
Unfortunately it’ll get more expensive. I could get real technical on it, I’ll shorten it, but I’m a 90s collector. it’s only going to get more expensive. Reprints and reprises only push the market. I’m one of the few in the US who owns the 2023 entirety English master set. It wasn’t cheap, but now it’s 60/65% higher than it was a year ago. Making a reprint set only makes the first prints that much more valuable. Is what it is. Also Pokemon pocket is about to increase the value of tangible cards. Just Watch the market. 🫡
People need to not panic about reprints. In his video yesterday he spoke about scalping vs investing. If youre a scalper you can be worried, if youre an investor in 5-10 years it wont matter.

But if we’re looking at this from a purely investment standpoint, a reprint doesn’t hurt anyone that’s currently holding product as long as they have the patience to keep holding. By then no one will care about the 30 dollar drop that might happen cause it’ll be worth double or triple what it is now. Patience people this isn’t day trading its long term investing for your future.

I bought a Jap pack for 90€ becuse it's impossibile to get any 151 in Italy since July this year. I'll keep it sealed for my collection but I reeeeally hope to buy an Italian pack after the reprint.
151 is what got me back into the hobby. Which has made my daughter get into it. I'm forever grateful for 151 bc it has brought me and my daughter closer than we have ever been. It's amazing!

The 151 reprint won’t matter. Reprints in the long term never matter and never will matter if the set is very strong, especially in this market with the 30th anniversary coming up. Also, depending what the market looks like, that new 151 premium collection will be sold out as quick as all the other 151 products. It won’t sit. People will buy it up and put it in their sealed collection. I agree that singles will take a dip, so if you need some singles and have the patience, wait it out!!!! Great vid as usual. Nobody said a peep about those new costco tin deals aka "new product" with those starter holo foil's. This got announced and all of a sudden it's a re print? We have been getting steady product pumped through Walmart, best buy, game stop, costco, etc.. Everyone is losing their heads about this new product. It will be swallowed immediately just like every single 151 product, and continue to go up. Will this lower the prices momentarily? Sure. Will it sky rocket back up? Absolutely.
I hope this is a different release than those blink and you miss it drops. This seems like a larger and more organized release than random stock being dropped on GameStop. I really hope I can pick this up.
I’ll be honest, I just started collecting again as I only really got into Pokemon cards around the Black and White and mainly X and Y area, playing some of the games, shoutout xerneas, so 151 has been a set that’s really peaked my interest in collecting again, as all the cards are just beautiful. However, these prices are beyond crazy and I cannot wait for the reprint to hopefully send these bundles down to a reasonable price once again. You’ve been a big help in knowing how to wisely invest yet have fun as a collector, thanks!

Pokémon 151 is what got me back into the hobby. I just completed my master set right before prices really took off!! While my singles were shipping prices went up 50-70%🤯

Super weird market spike right before the reprint announcement. Like it was manipulated at the right time to make some money then watch it return to normal prices after the reprint. That’s not suspicious at alllllllll

Im so glad 151 is getting a restock, I live in canada and our Costco just got the 151 etb + 2 tins bundle that the US and even though my Costco had 400+ boxes, my girlfriend and I got to Costco 15 minutes after it opened and it was completely sold out 😭😭😭. (We saw someone in the checkout with over 100+ boxes in just his cart alone)
I love this set and I'm so happy to see it becoming more accessible very soon. I think it deserves the reprint for sure and provides everyone with that chance to collect such a nostalgic set. This modern generation of Card sets I think are just so great for collecting.
@phillips.collectibles I would like to see how it looks when more information is available, but I'm sure it'll be worth picking up especially early on for investing and collecting. I'm excited on both fronts for sure
151 nostalgia will always play a big factor long run. The set is beautiful and i think it will be regarded as one of the best Scarlet and Violet sets long term. Plus that potential for a god pack is always exhilarating when ripping packs

Hello there, i'm new on this channel and I already love the content posted here, it really helps taking the cards collection an other point of view. I'm from France and the prices here are very high due to scalpers, in fact 151 ETBs cost at least 150€, UPCs cost 250€ and the booster pack reached 15€. The prices never really dropped back since the first release because all of the items were in the hands of the same people. I never really had a chance to collect 151 cards so i'm really glad to hear these news. Maybe I'll buy some japanese 151 boosters packs or cards, as the prices are lower and the quality of cards is higher. That being said, I wish that everyone collecting cards for the love of it will succeed in buying lower 151 products ! 🤞
Just got into collecting Pokemon cards. Played the GBA games and up to Omega Ruby and I just left off at some point but after seeing how beautiful a lot of these card look I decided to give it a try. Your videos have been very helpful. Keep up the job work

You’re right that the current price looks artificially, however I can see the cards getting to this current price naturally in a couple years easily. That is the most wanted collection in a loooong time.

I have played all the pokemon games since 1998, and 151 is the first ETB I haver ever bought. Luckily I got the Charizard. I just want to complete the starters evolution line without having to pay for them 100 for each one. The reprint is great news for the fans that just enjoy the hobbie. First time here on the channel, I haven’t collected since 2002 but the 151 set brought me back and it seems like I’m not the only one! I’m really glad there’s a reprint I’d love to collect the whole set
I believe prices will come down, but I expect they'll still settle at a higher price than they were prior to taking off. While supply (PSA submissions) is incredibly high when compared with other popular cards (Moonbreon), demand is considerably higher for 151 than we've seen with many of the recent set releases.

I've started buying/holding sealed product and was lucky to get a 151 UPC but that's all I've been able to get for this set so I'm glad they're doing a reprint in a new product rather than just printing more bundles. I’m ecstatic that 151 is getting a reprint. This was the set that got me back into collecting and I really enjoyed it. My collection was actually stolen so getting the chance to redo the set will be good.
I started collecting through 151. It just hit the spot for everyone who had a GameBoy. But I sometimes feel overwhelmed by the vast options to buy now. I love the new artistic action packed path they are taking with the TCG, but I don´t have a deep connection to most of the newer Pokemon so buying an ripping 151 just feels right. A reprint like that just seems like the perfect thing to happen for everyone who likes to rip a few packs and feel the nostalgia. Pack prices will decline and so will the bad feeling of opening a product, you feel will be a very valuable sealed item in no time! Oh thats gonna get pricey....

Thankfully I pulled a majority of the SIRs and IRs when 151 first came out, at the moment I only need 4 more cards (Zapdos SIR, Blastoise SIR, Blastoise Full Art, and a Mewtwo RH lol) and I don't plan on purchasing anytime soon until the reprint comes. I'm not getting rid of this master set anytime soon so I'm not worried at all about the value of my set and I'm super glad other people will get a chance to rip this product!! Super good reprint that brings in new and old pokemon fans back to the hobby
I wanted to collect 151 regardless of the hype as it’s just such a beautiful set. Had no idea product would become so sparse so I didn’t really buy enough. So this is music to my ears to hear there will be some new product and hopefully plenty to go around. I always wondered why when 151 was announced people weren’t more excited. A lot of people were acting like the set wasn’t very good but to me the nostalgia level was through the roof and it seems like now people have come around to that way of thinking. Ripping open a pack and it all just being those original Pokémon is an incredible feeling. It’s got my whole family interesting in Pokémon again and got us all doing stuff together. Nothing like going for a day out and wondering if you’ll stumble across a collectable shop that might have some 151 in 😅
I started collecting after 151 went basically instinct in all card shops, so I'm pretty happy with the reprint, haha. Hopefully I can get some cool full arts, currently only have Dragonair, but I want a lot of cards from the set (specially the Erika one)
I just recently got back into Pokémon after many years and I’m actually pumped for this! I love 151 and I didn’t get a chance to get many 151 packs up to this point because they were just too expensive. After enough time passes things will likely go back up in value anyways, and this will just be a bump in the price charts!
That’s awesome news! I have been a fan of pokemon for over 20 years but growing up in a low income family, I was never lucky enough to collect cards. Now even when I’m an adult it’s hard to balance needs over wants. I’ve just started collecting but don’t have a lot of disposable income to work with 😅 I was gutted when 151 first came out because then I just started working so I couldn’t really spend any money on it. Now at least I have a chance to pull some of my beloved childhood Pokemon ❤️
My older brother and I got back into Pokemon a month ago but I took a break after 151 (I pulled the Charizard so I was satisfied lol). My brother didn’t get much of a chance to open it so we’re both excited. Our local retail store has Pokemon vending machines in stores and I wonder if we might spot some more 151 in them haha
im definitely gonna keep at least one or two of these boxes sealed, we've already seen how 151 skyrocketed with no warning. The chances of it happening again are high, even if they print the set like crazy (like crown zenith)
I think it could definitely cause sales to tank over all but over time the cards that have the proper weight (art style, story, Pull rate and rarity level, etc) will be good investments for the future

As an investor that isnt planning on selling anything for a long time, i welcome a reprint and some price retracement. Be patient, but low, sell high. Its that easy. I dont have much but im going to slowly build my collection as prices dip and i find good deals in ebay.

I feel exactly the same about the price of those singles rising. I’ve been fortunate enough to pull most of the big hitters but it annoys me to see them rise so rapidly, because it definitely doesn’t feel like a natural incline! Hope the scalpers get scalped. Looking forward to the new product coming out though!

Great art, nice giveaway for sure. 151 was the 1st and only master set I’ve completed did it with my toddler. It wasn’t a cheap set to complete so not excited about the price dip that comes with reprints. But it was fun and will gift the collection to my child in the future as an investment/asset.

I'm surprised it has taken them this long to reprint this set. Can you imagine if they ever decided to print Crown Zenith and/or 151 as booster boxes. That would be wild.

Hello there, i'm new on this channel and I already love the content posted here, it really helps taking the cards collection an other point of view.
I'm from France and the prices here are very high due to scalpers, in fact 151 ETBs cost at least 150€, UPCs cost 250€ and the booster pack reached 15€. The prices never really dropped back since the first release because all of the items were in the hands of the same people.
I never really had a chance to collect 151 cards so i'm really glad to hear these news. Maybe I'll buy some japanese 151 boosters packs or cards, as the prices are lower and the quality of cards is higher.
That being said, I wish that everyone collecting cards for the love of it will succeed in buying lower 151 products ! 🤞
Just got into collecting Pokemon cards. Played the GBA games and up to Omega Ruby and I just left off at some point but after seeing how beautiful a lot of these card look I decided to give it a try. Your videos have been very helpful. Keep up the job work

Hope the 151 reprint will also be available here in the Philippines. Getting the new 151 reprint from resellers is a pain because the price will surely spike. (Gimme the mew lol)

As somebody who jumped on the 151 bandwagon way too late, this is great news. I got my daughter a 151 UPC for Christmas last year for $100. I wish I was into it then, I would have picked up way more haha.

You’re right that the current price looks artificially, however I can see the cards getting to this current price naturally in a couple years easily. That is the most wanted collection in a loooong time.
I love the artwork in Pokemon 151! I’ve watched a ton of videos of 151 openings but I haven’t opened any yet as it’s become so expensive for a pack.

I have played all the pokemon games since 1998, and 151 is the first ETB I haver ever bought. Luckily I got the Charizard. I just want to complete the starters evolution line without having to pay for them 100 for each one. The reprint is great news for the fans that just enjoy the hobbie. Yup blooming waters premium collection coming ...will get eating up as fast as it comes out no more original upc or ETbs won't affect the prices for 151..... reprint not verified for English just a new premium collection for it probably all the left over packs they have at the Pokemon center printing factory.....

First time here on the channel, I haven’t collected since 2002 but the 151 set brought me back and it seems like I’m not the only one! I’m really glad there’s a reprint I’d love to collect the whole set
I believe prices will come down, but I expect they'll still settle at a higher price than they were prior to taking off. While supply (PSA submissions) is incredibly high when compared with other popular cards (Moonbreon), demand is considerably higher for 151 than we've seen with many of the recent set releases.

I've started buying/holding sealed product and was lucky to get a 151 UPC but that's all I've been able to get for this set so I'm glad they're doing a reprint in a new product rather than just printing more bundles. I’m ecstatic that 151 is getting a reprint. This was the set that got me back into collecting and I really enjoyed it. My collection was actually stolen so getting the chance to redo the set will be good.
I started collecting through 151. It just hit the spot for everyone who had a GameBoy.
But I sometimes feel overwhelmed by the vast options to buy now. I love the new artistic action packed path they are taking with the TCG, but I don´t have a deep connection to most of the newer Pokemon so buying an ripping 151 just feels right.
A reprint like that just seems like the perfect thing to happen for everyone who likes to rip a few packs and feel the nostalgia. Pack prices will decline and so will the bad feeling of opening a product, you feel will be a very valuable sealed item in no time!
Oh thats gonna get pricey....

Thankfully I pulled a majority of the SIRs and IRs when 151 first came out, at the moment I only need 4 more cards (Zapdos SIR, Blastoise SIR, Blastoise Full Art, and a Mewtwo RH lol) and I don't plan on purchasing anytime soon until the reprint comes. I'm not getting rid of this master set anytime soon so I'm not worried at all about the value of my set and I'm super glad other people will get a chance to rip this product!! Super good reprint that brings in new and old pokemon fans back to the hobby
I wanted to collect 151 regardless of the hype as it’s just such a beautiful set. Had no idea product would become so sparse so I didn’t really buy enough. So this is music to my ears to hear there will be some new product and hopefully plenty to go around.
I always wondered why when 151 was announced people weren’t more excited. A lot of people were acting like the set wasn’t very good but to me the nostalgia level was through the roof and it seems like now people have come around to that way of thinking.
Ripping open a pack and it all just being those original Pokémon is an incredible feeling. It’s got my whole family interesting in Pokémon again and got us all doing stuff together. Nothing like going for a day out and wondering if you’ll stumble across a collectable shop that might have some 151 in 😅
I started collecting after 151 went basically instinct in all card shops, so I'm pretty happy with the reprint, haha. Hopefully I can get some cool full arts, currently only have Dragonair, but I want a lot of cards from the set (specially the Erika one)
I just recently got back into Pokémon after many years and I’m actually pumped for this! I love 151 and I didn’t get a chance to get many 151 packs up to this point because they were just too expensive. After enough time passes things will likely go back up in value anyways, and this will just be a bump in the price charts!

That’s awesome news! I have been a fan of pokemon for over 20 years but growing up in a low income family, I was never lucky enough to collect cards. Now even when I’m an adult it’s hard to balance needs over wants. I’ve just started collecting but don’t have a lot of disposable income to work with 😅 I was gutted when 151 first came out because then I just started working so I couldn’t really spend any money on it. Now at least I have a chance to pull some of my beloved childhood Pokemon ❤️
My older brother and I got back into Pokemon a month ago but I took a break after 151 (I pulled the Charizard so I was satisfied lol). My brother didn’t get much of a chance to open it so we’re both excited. Our local retail store has Pokemon vending machines in stores and I wonder if we might spot some more 151 in them haha
im definitely gonna keep at least one or two of these boxes sealed, we've already seen how 151 skyrocketed with no warning. The chances of it happening again are high, even if they print the set like crazy (like crown zenith)

I think it could definitely cause sales to tank over all but over time the cards that have the proper weight (art style, story, Pull rate and rarity level, etc) will be good investments for the future

As an investor that isnt planning on selling anything for a long time, i welcome a reprint and some price retracement. Be patient, but low, sell high. Its that easy. I dont have much but im going to slowly build my collection as prices dip and i find good deals in ebay.

I feel exactly the same about the price of those singles rising. I’ve been fortunate enough to pull most of the big hitters but it annoys me to see them rise so rapidly, because it definitely doesn’t feel like a natural incline! Hope the scalpers get scalped. Looking forward to the new product coming out though!
Man I wish I had the extra cash flow to get some 151. I love the set and I’m excited about the direction modern pokemon is going, hopefully I’ll be able to get my hands on some soon!

I really hope it helps the singles come down a bit. I held off on a lot of the ARs for my master set while I finished my trainer gallery collection.
I’ve only gotten the chance to open 9 packs of 151, and we got the venusaur SIR! Insane luck. Hopefully the new product brings singles down so I can have a chance at a master set
I felt bad for not getting the venasaur when it was @$40, hopefully this will bring the price down for me to finish my set

I am sooo excited for the market to be flooded with 151. I'm not so heavily invested and will take any opportunity to buy more sealed. I also have not opened a great amount so hopefully the price per pack drops as well

Same here! Just drop 450 on binder, zaptoz, alakazam bundle and 5 booster bundles but I really want 151 pc etb and upc so I’ll be waiting for the drop bc I went a bit crazy bc everyone was saying no reprint and now I feel like I over paid
151 is why I started again. Even though I don't have any 151... I started a few weeks ago. Only have 36 booster packs haha!
Great art, nice giveaway for sure. 151 was the 1st and only master set I’ve completed did it with my toddler. It wasn’t a cheap set to complete so not excited about the price dip that comes with reprints. But it was fun and will gift the collection to my child in the future as an investment/asset.
Reprint is good for the market. Finally I bought my first 151 products. Hopefully my order won't get cancelled. Btw, this sneasler card looks nice.

ngl I thought it was hopeless to collect 151, even the japanese booster boxes where at 90 dollars and I felt it was too much, but with this reprint I am excited to start that journey.
