Kritstofferson's biography is almost unbelievable. He was a college (rugby, boxing and track) athlete and a Rhodes Scholar who went to Oxford. Then he joined the Army and rose to the rank of Captain, qualifying as Ranger and a helicopter pilot, eventually teaching English literature at West Point. Then he gave up his Army career (against the wishes of his family) to move to Nashville to be a songwriter, starting as a janitor in a recording studio and writing songs. Eventually he hit it big as a songwriter and singer, but also as an actor, starring in many movies in the 70s and beyond.
Thanks for that. I had no idea. Very cool.
I met him in 1985 when I was on the u.s.s Constellation. Uso show.what a man. Didn't realize how many hits he wrote for others.
He wrote Janis' "Me and Bobby McGee"
Yep.
The music world owes Kris a big thanks for helping John Prine get his first recording contract
Kris Kristofferson was in "The Star is Born". You heard him a little when you did Barbra Streisand's "Evergreen." And by the way, Amber, he wrote "Me and Bobby McGee" which Janis Joplin did.
Sure did ,, 2 70s songs that were Fantastic
That movie should be on their movie list.
Love “Me and Bobby McGee” and his own version of “For the good times”. For me no one can sing a song with as much feeling and passion as the songwriter.
That's what I was going to say, but ya beat me to it!! 😀
Janis had a huge hit with "me and Bibby McGee" but you should listen to the writers version (Kristoferson). It is truly great.
Kris was an intellectual....."somewhere far away a lonely bell was ringing, and it echoed through the canyons like a disappearing dream of yesterday"......profound
Is there a more empty feeling than waking up Sunday, hungover, sick, broke. Going out and watching happy people living happy lives 🥹😫Brutal
Brutal is the word.. hard-hitting, like the greatest poets
Johnny Cash did a fantastic cover of this song.
I love Cash's version.
I would argue that Cash's version is the definitive version.
If it wasn't for Cash I don't think Kristofferson would have made it.
Ray price naiked it with his version, cash did it good also.
@@michelerogers8151 Cash met him when he was a janitor and took an interest in him. Good bet no one else would have lifted him up that way to give him a chance.
One of the most beautiful songs ever written was by Kris and definitely deserves a listen, For The Good Times
The Ray Price version is my favorite. Thanks for mentioning it.
Oh yes!
70s country is so good! Ya'll should try "The Teddy Bear Song" by Barbara Fairchild(the live Hee Haw Version) its about a women going through some bad stuff and wishing she was a teddy bear so she wouldnt have all the trouble shes going through
@@stephenulmer3781 I'm kind of like thinking we need to do some white Lynn Jennings seems like nobody remembers them they had a good hearted woman?
@@keithritter4518 Somebody was saying that I like to steal get tar well if you want to hear a steel squeal you gotta play white and Jennings white and Jennings way more's way more blues Lynn jenning statscott real steel steel guitar brother
“Woke up Sunday morning with no way to hold my head that didn’t hurt” Now that’s a songwriter who’s lived it!
Kris was a commissioned officer. A military pilot. On his way to West Point, to be a instructor, he stoped in Nashville. Fell in love with the songwriting community. Turned in his commission and stayed in Nashville to write songs and worked as a janitor at a music studio. His wife divorced him and he was there alone. This song was his observation on a Sunday morning and what he was feeling. He still flew helicopters and landed his helicopter in Johnny Cash’s front yard to give him the demo of this song.
Kris Kristoffer has written many hits for many artists. After a military career, while sweeping the floors at Columbia Records studios, Kris gave a tape of this song to June Carter to give to Johnny Cash. It sat in a pile of other hopeful artists tapes for a month.
Being impatient, Kris landed a helicopter in Johnny Cash's front yard to finally get his tape heard. Johnny released it soon after. Also appearing in movies, Kris was talented indeed. Great reaction. Buckets of Maple Syrup love from Canada. ❤️❤️🇨🇦 🇨🇦
Thank you for typing that, I was going to but saw you did and said great.
@@charlesdavis7461 Hi Charles. It's such an amazing story. Talk about persistence. Lol Had to put it out there. 👍✌️🎶🇨🇦
One thing.. to mention.. and not sure if Jay and Amber have touched on this artist yet.. but early Kristofferson has to be mentioned with his ex- wife and wonderful singer, Rita Coolidge. They did albums together. She has had such a varied career herself.. hope they get to her if they haven't already..
He also had a job flying men from Louisiana to the oil rigs in the gulf.. ( helicopter).
My fave movie role is with Barbra Streisand in A Star Is Born
Kris is a brilliant songwriter, and he mainly wrote of his own experiences. He really was that low when he wrote this one. Somehow, starting from here, he would go on to write the inspirational "Why Me Lord?".
And "One Day At A Time."
They should really listen to "Why Me Lord?"
That was a great reaction! What you are probably too young to understand is that on Sundays EVERYTHING was closed! Even in a big city, it felt like a ghost town. So if you are of a certain age, you can relate to the near-dead-silence of the city on Sundays. And I miss it. Now everything is open seven days a week. There was something special about knowing that the "world shut down" on Sundays. And that ties into the loneliness expressed in the song. You are waking down the street and there is dead silence and you hear church bells off in the distance. The song is brilliant.
Kris was a helicopter pilot in the military, a Rhodes Scholar and an actor on top of being one of the greatest songwriters in our time. Among other roles that he played he was Whistler in the Blade series of movies. Please consider doing "Loving Her Was Easier".
That has to be one of his greatest hits. I loved it when he did it with Rita.
Jay & Amber, you'll love his "Why Me" and "Me and Bobby McGee"!! Totally different vibe than Janis on Bobby Mcgee, but he wrote it.
edit- He wrote "Help Me Make It Through the Night" which has been covered by over 350 artists from Elvis Presley to Mariah Carey!
Kristofferson's Loving Her Was Easier, is one of if not the best country song ever written
It is by far the Greatest Country Song of All Time !😀
Tompall Glaser’s version is magic.
It is one of the best songs of any genre.
He wrote "Me and Bobby McGee", "For the Good Times", "Help Me Make Through the Night" and this one. All of them were hits by other artists. A Triple Threat. Singer, Songwriter and Actor.
And drop dead gorgeous!
This one was a favorite by Johnny Cash since my childhood, and then I much later discovered Kristofferson's original, or is that a 'later original', as he clearly wanted JC to perform it after he wrote it?
Anyway, it's a lovely song by KK, too!
Did they ever play 'The Silver Tongued Devil and I"? That was where I really discovered Kris as a recording artist (OK, decades after it was released, but then I was born 'only' 55 years ago... :P
And it's a shame to say that his own version of 'Me and Bobby McGee' is only very good, when Janis' version will forever be held in much higher regard! Well, I love both versions!
He wrote this song and Johnny Cash had a huge hit with it.
And many many more.
I sent my record to his PR firm with return postage asking for an autograph. They sent the record back, unsigned, with a letter saying he no longer does fan mail for health reasons. This guy is a pure legend in my mind and I worry for him.
Kris wrote Why Me Lord you need to listen to it, He also wrote Me and Bobby Magee sung by one of your favorites Janis Joplin, was also trained as A Helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War
If you really wanna hear a great song not only did he write it he sung it also, the name of it is called...Why Me Lord... I promise you won't be disappointed 🙏 Thank You for ya'lls reactions and hope ya'll have a blessed day 🙏
Sitting here bawling. This was one of my father's favorite songs to sing. I love Kris Kristofferson. One of his many lovers was Janis Joplin!
Yes and Barbra Streisand too.
He wasn't with Janis, and he didn't write Bobby Mcgee for her. He said he didn't even know she recorded it until after she died. He wrote it in New Orleans. It was based on a secretary named Barbara McKee (everyone called her bobby) but the producer thought Bobby Mcgee had a better flow to it.
I never said he wrote it for her. Yes, they occasionally fucked, along with Peggy Caserta. @@marioserrano6333
As he got older his voice got deeper and raspier, and my opinion, even better. The same for Leonard Cohen.
My dad plays guitar and sings this song. I love it! A great one by him is “Why Me Lord.” One of my fav’s! Thank you guys! ❤
That's a great song. There is video of Kris talking about how he got the inspiration to write it that is worth checking out.
Yes! Do why me Lord!
My dad loved his music, and played and sang his songs, too. Hug your dad often!!!
Why me Lord is my absolute favourite!
Most listen to version was Johnny Cash version. When Johnny sang it for prime time on his show the network told him to cut the part of the song that said stoned since it was live tv. Johnny wasn’t having it and performed it the way it was meant live. Kris said that was the greatest thing Johnny ever did for him
A television executive told Johnny he needed to change the line "wishing lord that I was stoned" to "home". Johnny refused and sang it the way Kris wrote it. Johnny's version hit #1 on the country charts, won song of the year at the Country Music Association Awards and was listed on The Rolling Stones list of the Top 500 Songs of All Time in 2021.
Kris also said he never had to work at a regular job again after Johnny cut that song.
Hi to Amber and Jordan - I have a little something to share with you about this song. My beloved dad, who has been gone 6+ years now, was my hero in many ways and for many reasons.
One of the reasons was that after he retired (he worked at Ford for 48 years!) he was really bored. He didn't know what to do with all this time he suddenly had. So, that's how he ended up learning to play guitar at the ripe young age of 70 years old. He practiced every single day, sometimes for 2-3 hours. He actually got very good. He ended up buying a microphone, speakers, and a recorder and recorded many songs (my mom too, but that's another story for another day, lol).
So, we have been able to enjoy all these songs he recorded since he passed, and it is like he is still here with us. "Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down" is one of my favs.
Remember when you watched the "solo" Barbara Streisand video and you said, "who's that guy" that was holding her hand, etc? That was Kris Kristofferson.❣
As a x drug addict this song help me through my trail’s and tribulations thank you for this song ❤️🙏👍
Stay Strong Brother!
Keep going Richard! Thinking of you! My dad was an alcoholic and was in two wars! He would NEVER admit that he was an alcoholic, so you have already admitted your addiction, which was more than what my dad did! He passed at 53! So sad! He was very good at leather work and making things! Peace and Blessings to you and your family from Australia.
All the best to you, Richard. Strength and peace!
You got this!
We got your back you can always come here for support
Kris (who also happens to be a Rhodes Scholar) wrote a TON of songs, including this one, which has been recorded by a lot of artists (including Janis.) The most listened to is probably the Johnny Cash version. He's done a bit of acting too - aside from A Star is Born with Barbra Streisand.
Yeah! With the Rhodes Scholarship he obtained his Bachelor of Philosophy from Merton College at Oxford University. He also lent his active stage and audience to Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper so they could film those live concert scenes for the movie “A Star is Born.” Just an all around nice guy. ❤Diane, Vancouver, Canada. SnNO20/2022. 05:03 pm
He was Whistler in the Blade movie.
@@jps536 movies
He is kind of forgotten today but he was one of the most talented songwriters ever, up there with Willie Nelson, John Prine, Glen Campbell, John Denver, etc.
Country writers like him and Marty Robbins can write songs with so little words, but you can picture what thier singing about in your mind.
Kristofferson has always been a favorite of mine (my mom had a crush on him when I was a kid). He wrote Me and Bobby McGee (I really like his version) and a wonderful memory I have of him has nothing to do with his singing. Sinead O’Connor caught a ton of heat for tearing up a picture of the Pope on Saturday Night Live, she was at a music event later and was getting booed mercilessly. Kris came out on stage in a very fatherly way and gave her a hug and led her offstage. It told me so much about the man he is.
You made my Sunday. I love this man. He's a poet, a songwriter, a Rhodes Scholar and, for me, a heart throb. I feel this song to my toes. There is also a great video of he and Johnny Cash sharing the lead in this in a Highwaymen concert. Now, that was just beautiful too. Johnny's cover made the song well known.
The older he is, the sexier he gets.
This song strikes a true chord when you've actually lived it.
Kris and his music is very underrated.
"Singing from his boots" .......... can't imagine Kris could ask for a better compliment
Kris Kristofferson is an amazing songwriter among many other things in his life. He knew this would be a great song for Johnny Cash but needed to find a way to get it to him. On a training flight in a national Guard helicopter he diverted from the flight plan and landed in Johnny Cash's yard and made him listen to the song in exchange for moving the helicopter off the lawn. He is a fascinating person to read about. So many facets to his life.
Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson considered Kris Kristofferson to be America’s greatest songwriter .His catalogue of music is unmatched. many of his songs were mega hits for other artists including Janis Joplin. If you want a real feel for the artist Listen to his versions of me and Bobby McGee,Silver tongued devil, Why me Lord, And help me make it through the night . Singer songwriter and actor, Road scholar ,army ranger, A poet , prophet and a problem when he’s stoned . Anyway enjoy and cheers from another Canadian fan of your channel !
Kris was an incredibly gifted songwriter
Kris and Janis were close friends and sometimes lovers when she passed away. Kind of a crazy pairing with her being a blues singing hippie from L.A. and him being a country singer and former Army Captain from Brownsville TX. It wasn't until after she'd passed away that he found out she had recorded a version of his song Me and Bobby McGee. There's a UA-cam video where he tells the story about him hearing it for the first time not long after her death. Even years later, he still got choked up thinking about it.
Kris did a great album with Rita Coolidge (a great country artist in her own right) called Full Moon. There are some really sweet songs on it, I recommend “I Never Had It So Good” and “I’m Down (But I Keep Falling)”. Their duets are golden. Great reaction, you’re gonna love more Kristofferson. Perhaps the very best duet with Rita is a song called “Give It Time To Be Tender” which was on Kris’s solo album ‘Jesus Was a Capricorn”. It’s a sultry tune, Rita played such a large part on that album that the LP cover is a beautiful photo of them together. They became a couple, and Full Moon followed.
Had that album, it was terrific.
Kathie says…Rita Coolidge (Kris’ former wife) is singing harmony on this song. She has a BEAUTIFUL voice…check out some of her songs, you will not be disappointed. I love to hear her sing YOUR LOVE IS LIFTING ME HIGHER. Hearing that song will cause me to sing it for days. Remember to check out RITA COOLIDGE!!!
Kris Kristofferson. Rhodes scholar and songwriter. He painted an image in a few words, that a thousand brushstrokes could not create.
"And it echoed through the canyon, like the disappearing dreams of yesterday". Best phrase ever of any song ever.
"Loving Her Was Easier Than Anything I'll Ever Do Again" captures Kris's lyrical brilliance and gritty vocals. Don't miss it.
Yeah, Kris Kristofferson did A Star is Born with Barbra Streisand. Incredible singer; so glad y'all enjoyed him! 😊
Yes, definitely a movie they should watch.
He was Billy in Peckinpah's PAT GARRET AND BILLY THE KID. All around great cast. Such an excellent movie.
Kris is the epitome of a songwriter.
No one covers Kris Kristofferson like Kris Kristofferson.
He is one of the best songwriters ever
My favorite singer/songwriter. I have been a fan since the early 70’s. I’m 60 now!
He's an actor also. So so talented. He sang "Why me Lord". love that song so much
Kristofferson - Me and Bobby McGee, Help Me Make it Through the Night, Sunday Morning Coming Down, Why Me (Lord), They Killed Him. Actor, Singer Songwriter, College Athlete, Rhodes Scholar, and Army Vet.
Kris is an American hero and legend.
Scholar, educator, Army Ranger, pilot, song writer...
The Lord blessed him with so much.
He fought addiction and won as well.
I saw him fall down the stairs at an award ceremony cause he was so stoned he couldn't walk. Not long after that he found redemption and got clean.
Ralph Emory used to have a special with country stars. Several old time big names would show up and they would sit and talk and remember old songs or their big songs then sing them.
If you can, catch Kris when they asked him about his song," why me Lord?"
It's a powerful story and even more powerful heart felt story for him.
"Why me Lord" and "loving her was easier than anything" are some of his Best in my opinion.
Speaking of his being a helicopter pilot, he wrote Sunday morning coming down and as I remember the story, he wanted Elvis to do it, he landed an army helicopter at his house to get a chance to give him the song and it was passed to Johnny cash.
I might be mistaken about those last details but it went something like that.
Love the channel y'all. Keep it up. There is so much good and special music out there that people today can't even begin to compete with.
Pure, righteous and clean. Just a few chords and a feeling it's all it takes.
He wrote so many songs and so many made hits by other artists...Kris was more a Movie star but wrote so much music for others to share to the world.
He was the man you saw standing in front of Barbara Streisand when she sang Evergreen. He sang a few bars of the song. He is quite an accomplished writer, singer, etc.
Kris Kristofferson and Paul Simon - the two greatest songwriters of the boomer - my - era.
Johnny Cash's live recording during his TV show was the quintessential version of this song. Glad that Kris went through all the effort to bring it to Johnny's attention.
One of the best written songs I have ever heard.
The greatest song writer in the history of country music…..you have dug yourself a hole that will be hard to climb out of……his hits are incredible….Johnny Cash, Willie, Waylon Jennings and Kris formed a super group called the Highwaymen….one of there concerts is available on UA-cam….fantastic!!!
“The best of all possible worlds” is so well written, and “from the bottle to the bottom” or “that silver tongued devil and I”. Kris Kristofer son is a poet.
Brilliant lyricist who could vividly paint a picture in a song. Why Me Lord is incredible. He was tremendous in many western movies, in addition to A Star Is Born with Barbra Streisand.
Kris is an amazing songwriter (storyteller) and singer. By the way, he wrote Me and Bobby Mcgee, which is one of his many great songs and covered by the incomparable Janis Joplin. I have always loved his music (and had a huge crush on him.) Seeing him live was on my bucket list. I am happy to say I got to see him in 2019 with my mom before she past away in 2020. A treasured memory for life.
Country music is three chords and the truth. These musicians lived this stuff.
A beautiful song written by a beautiful soul ♥️
Kris Kristofferson is on of the greatest singer song writers of all time. His voice is so unique. "Please listen to Why Me Lord". It will get you. I guarantee!
Absolutely 💯...Kris K.is a legend with all the true country sound
Kris Kristofferson wrote this song for Johhny Cash who performed it on his television show. The producers insisted that he change the words "wishing lord that I was stoned" to "wishing lord that I was home" because you can't say "stoned" on TV. Johnny sang the song as written and bonded a life-long friendship with Kris.
One of the greatest songs, by one of the greatest songwriters ever
Great song. This alway has me torn. Normally the original is the best but this one is hard, Johnny Cash version is so real with emotion
Kris also had quite an acting career and was a much sought after leading man. Many didn't realize he was already an accomplished songwriter.
Kris Kristofferson/Why Me. This was the biggest hit Kris had on the pop chart. Even though it never hit the top 10, it became the second biggest hit of 1973!
He's got a great catalogue -- it's a total vibe. My hands-down favourite KK song is Loving Her Was Easier.
Yes that was Kris Kristofferson in A star is born,. Should definitely put on movie channel ❤️❤️
Guys, listen to Lyle Lovett perform This Old Porch. It's a story with the simple guitar support you like. It's a beautiful song from a modern country artist.
"My cleanest dirty shirt" what a great line.
His uses the lyrics to paint a picture he uses his voice to draw you in and make you feel like it you're there!!
Kristofferson is legendary. So many artists have recorded his songs. I'm fond of Johnny Cash' version of this song. Janis sang his Bobby McGee. He was a big fan of Janis.
I've never heard Kristopherson's version before. Thank you so much for doing this one. Kris actually wrote this for Johnny Cash and it was one of Cash's biggest hits of all time. I'll always love the Johnny Cash version, but there's something about hearing a writer sing his own song that really helps you feel the song. Thanks so much. As big of an audiophile as I am, I should've heard Kris' version. But thanks to y'all, I finally got to hear it. Johnny Cash's version is also exceptional. You should really check that one out too.
Doesn't he just have THE MOST BEAUTIFUL blue eyes!!!! I clearly remember the vinyl album sleeve my dad had of him. Those icy blues are unforgettable
The man was a genius.... This was one my dad played on guitar everytime he picked one up. Since his passing when ever I play it myself I can barely make it through.
Sundays, when I was growing up, was the day everything was closed. For me, this song captured those Midwest Winter Sundays of gray skies, bare trees, ugly dirty snow and raw 15 degree snow flurries and no escape from the mood. He's an incredible song writer and singer. (BTW, he was a Rhodes Scholar who after a few short months told them where they could shove his scholarship and quit.)
one of my favorites was "why me lord". Kris was an incredible song writer.
Kris is a national treasure!
This song turned the lives around of many addict's.
He was the male lead in A Star is Born with Barbara Streisand I enjoy him as an actor. You guys should watch A Star is Born great movie with great songs
I have lost count of the times I have suggested this song. Kris is a phenomenal writer. He wrote Me and Bobby McGee amongst others. The story of this song is that Kris was in the armed forces, writing music in his spare time and kept sending Johnny Cash songs. Kris finally flew a helicopter, landing on Johnny's front lawn to get his attention. Johnny recorded the song, and it became a smash, country hit, and they became best friends. I recommend you have a listen to the Highwaymen version in Nassau where both of them sing the song. ua-cam.com/video/r0ARfcJvJ68/v-deo.html
Kris was a star for many decades and into the turn of the century
Had the privilege of seeing this man with his then wife Rita cooledge in Dublin, early 70s, he was such a modest man, lovely to talk,to gave autographs, chatted to everyone. Great memories x
I have always felt this one deep. I had my struggles with the bottle at one time, this song was a wake up call. You can feel the desperation and loneliness. Kris Kristofferson was the most interesting man in the world...
KK has been one of my favorite song writers since the early 70's. He was joined by John Prine a year or two later as my fav's. They both tell about life and living in so many of their songs. I don't believe either have received the praise they deserve. John Prine passed away (RIP), but KK is still with us. I'm grateful and thankful for both.
The two best songwriters ever in my opinion!
Kris Kristofferson is a great songwriter. Try Loving Her Was Easier and Why Me Lord. He was also married to Rita Coolidge and they did some great songs together like, Loving Arms, Part of Your Life, Heard the Blue Birds sing, basically everything off of their Full Moon album. I know you both, especially Amber will love their songs; Rita Coolidge’s voice is so soothing and beautiful.
Kris - a legend, an icon, actor including Whistler Blade/Trinity movies - awards from Song of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Record of the Year, Songwriter of the Decade & Life achievement Award - the list goes on - almost every artist starting out in the 60/70 recorded a Kris song!!! His wife Rita Coolidge & Kris had several albums!! He is reputed to be Janis Joplin last boyfriend - He is just KRIS - I have loved him since 1968 - & still listen to him - his body of work is enormous - He & Willie did a movie called "Songwriter" which is a Smash - they basically play themselves!!! He is my absolute favorite songwriter of all time & I had a BAD crush on him for years!!!!! This is a worthy rabbit hole - 1 thing to remember - Kris has never really considered himself a good singer!!!! Kris Rocks!!!!
He also has a successful movie career. Some of his movies are:Convoy, 1970's version of A Star Is Born, Blade, and many other movies.
Dammit guys, I love seeing my old songs through fresh younger eyes.
"Loving you was easier" is another classic.
Thank you guys. Made me smile n tear up ✌️😁
Btw, RIP Kris Kristofferson. He passed away a couple of months ago. May his path be bright.
I can’t find any information about him being dead. Where did you get that??
@@NeptuneLady1957 looks like I got gypped. He's still alive. Dammit, I cried over nothing. Thank goodness he's still around.
He wrote this and then gave it to Johnny Cash to sing. Johnny invited him to his tv show to watch him sing it. The producers told Johnny that he couldn't use the word Stoned and he needed to change it. When Johnny sang it, he looked at Kris and said STONED when it came around.
My goosebumps had goosebumps listening to him sing this in concert. Seeing a legend is an experience! Listening to this makes me crave fried chicken.
You should check out Kris Kristofferson's version of Loving Her Was Easier Than Anything I'll Ever Do Again.
He wrote it
His wife, the backup singer, was the phenomenal Rita Coolidge. Kris is best known as a songwriter, and Janis Joplin took his ''Me and Bobby McGee' to greatness
I was just about ask if that was Rita
Coolidge on background vocals. Thank you for answering my question even before I asked it.
Right after college, in 1980, I moved to 1200 miles from home to Houston TX. I call my 8 years 'my lost decade'. I lived this life for the first 3-4 years. When you move to a large city for a job, without close friends, it's very easy to slip into this lifestyle. This song brings me back to those days. They weren't the best, that's for sure. But I wouldn't trade them away for anything. You need tough times to appreciate the good times.
I think kris is the best songwriter in Country music! His talent is unbelievable.
You need to add the Kris Kristofferson-Barbra Striesand movie "A Star is Born" to your to watch & react to movies. It's the best version IMO.
Great song, Johnny Cash version is also great.
Johnny's version is actually the first time the song was recorded.
in my mind, all these gentlemen wrote songs that the common everyday man can wholeheartedly relate to
Kris Kristofferson is such a great singer/songwriter/actor. I really love his version of this song.
All the best singers and writers always talk about regrets and themselves, instead of singing about pride and boasting about themselves
