Other cities may think they have a derby, but compared to Boca Juniors - River, nah... Their little derbies, that's childplay. The Bs. As. one? That's on another plane. It's too bad they can't have away fans anymore-those videos you see with half the stadium in red fog, shirts, banderas; the other half equally, covered in yellow & blue fog, bloody carnage, flares going off, people climbing on fences... it's something to behold. That is some powerful spectacle, like a power keg.
Kind of, but when it comes to actual reasons behind the rivalry those are magnitude larger for el clasico. From Francoist dictatorship to killing catalonians, banning their language, abolishing their self government. Boca juniors and River plate is still mostly about football, el clasico is something quite a bit more. Real Madrid represents the Spanish king, FC Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia.
@@b4Sed1593 in some way, by Eli not going to Madrid adds to the disappointment he faced at the time the match was off. It almost makes us, the viewer feel like the fans in Argentina. I also think that by him going to Madrid would ruin the whole Derby feel as it isn't the same thing as if it were in Argentina.
Tiago Its still a SuperClasico. Thats like saying you shouldnt go to a Real-Barca UCL Final because it isnt held in the Bernabeu or Camp Nou. Thats just stupid.

@@maurizio944 my friend is a huge Boca fan and also has contacts inside la bombonera, he got me a ticket for the copa libertadores match in May 2015..the game that got abandoned at half time after the river players had acid thrown in their faces. Argentine fans are the most passionate supporters in the world imo.
Beyond the rivalry, both clubs have insane support at all times. I've never forgotten that BBC documentary Gary Lineker did, Diego Maradona taking him to a Boca Juniors game and exploding at every chance they missed. That bloke won a World Cup for Argentina and it seemed like this meant a thousand times more to him.

@M Bak - I literally only subbed to the channel because of Eli's docs. The rest of the content is not for me, and I feel the same kind of content can be found on a multitude of other channels. And, to add to that, the massive overweight in focus on the Premier League, doesn't do the channel any favors either.

This is one of the best documentaries i have ever seen about our Argentine Super Clasico. It represents 100% how passionate we are when it comes to football. Too bad we were not able to watch the 2nd match in our country. Greetings from Buenos Aires.
In Serbia we have also good city derby Red Star - Partizan..but this is on whole another level. I wish you best in Qatar, you cant imagine how many people supports Argentina here..
Dude, I was tearing up from this documentary. I knew the Boca-River derby is the craziest rivalry in all of sports, but I never expected anything like this! I’m glad your crew is doing alright. God bless you all!
I watched this documentary on a 13-inch screen laptop with a cheap pair of earbuds. My body was shaking the whole time. I think I actually might die from a heart attack if I was physically there.
Leandro Paredes' red card on purpose in the game for Zenit Saint Petersburg so he could watch Boca vs River will go down in history as one of the greatest stories attached with Superclasico.

I don't know, the dude from 50:30 is the clear exemple of how you keep the passion on the pitch never letting it go further. Becoming civilized once the game is over and being passionate but never violent.
@@IlSH2 Well he didnt do anything than just talking. He knows that life is life and 90 minutes is 90 minutes. I know this feeling too. My stepdad is the fan of the rival team of mine. In the stadium I insult this team, I wish them death and hate but after the game I will have a beer with my stepdad and we would laugh together and have a great time. @@poppunkloser Bullshit was that acting. You dodn't know anything, you have no imagination for other cultures, a closed mind, nd you learned nothing from watching this documentary, apparently.
That's not passion, that's sheer stupidity. It's pathetic that someone enjoys their rival's downfall more than their own victories. That man is not passionate, he's sick in the head.
But unfortunately that rivalry seems to bring out the worst of their people. I beleive it's good being passionate about something, but some fans just take it to a level of mental sickness.
Meh not really argentinians are just obssesed, that shit it's not healthy anymore not to mention that they think that they still the best football in the world and thats not true they are corrupt fuckers that use Conmebol to get titles if u know what i mean
Truly amazing documentary. Just like this game was the pinnacle of the South American football, this film is the pinnacle of all Derby Days. Easily the best video on the Copa90 channel. Eli, I wanted to congratulate you and all of your team, for the work you have done on this one. 55 minutes flew just like that. Made because of the passion you have for the beautiful game. Not biased at all. And the ending? Perfect, just perfect, straight to the point. I am lost for words. There wasn't an actual winner here. The real winner was hatred. This should be a tie to savour, once in a lifetime experience. La Bombonera and Estadio Monumental, not La Bombonera and Santiago Bernabeu. The decision to play the second leg in Spain was ridiculous and completely ruined the whole experience for me. An exceptional event that turned into an ignominous affair.
The funniest thing is that many barrabrava leaders, the violent sort that are almost always the cause of disasters like these, did have the money to go there, because they are some of the most corrupt people in the country. And the normal people couldn't go. Fortunately, many were stopped at the airport and some deported from Spain. Others found their way travelling from Argentina to Brazil, from there to Portugal, and then crossing to Spain.
It’s literally as if the universe was not allowing this match to take place. River's dodgy last minute sneak into the final. The rain and thunder, the pepperspray incident. This game was just too big.
And in the end, it was played in the country where South America was liberated from and the Copa was named after. CONMEBOL is shameless for this level of disrespect.
mine too its my dream to go and watch these games one day i will iam from india bad news is we dont have broadcasting of southamerican football matches
The effort this guy made for this documentary is amazing. The best i've seen in years. If there was a pulitzer prize for sports journalism i would give it to you hands down buddy.

Lo que tuvo intencionalidad política es que justo lo hagan la noche anterior al partido, era obvio que alguien buscó que se pudriera porque sabían que la barra iba a reaccionar. As a football fan, I always hear that the Super Classico is the biggest game in football history. After watching this video, I felt the passion of it, even though I'm no River of Boca fan. But seeing how passionate the fans were, it made me realize why this game is the biggest game in football. The Bombonera scenes were proof of that. It's a shame that we could never witness a similar scene in Monumental. I really felt how Diego (the cab driver) feels. It was supposed to be a historical match for him and he was ready to be part of history, but then it will never happen for him or others like him. It was anti-climatic in the end, but this was the BEST DERBY DAYS VIDEO that Copa90 has ever made so far.
Man, stop saying that bullshit... do u want to see "the same scene in The Monumental"? ok, just see ua-cam.com/video/Np3DSDwCKd8/v-deo.html and that's not even a final... "La Bombonera" is full marketing, is not a big passion scene anymore... And i tell u something, yesterday the "barras bravas" from boca juniors threatened boca juniors fans because they were insulting the players... That's boca juniors, a marketing bullshit living on an ancient passion cloud that's not exist anymore.

So, again, just to emphasize what I mean: It's a shame that we didn't get to see that passionate scene from this derby that happened in Bombonera happen in Monumental cuz the game was cancelled. I was really hoping to see the same scene at the Monumental. We clear, dude? Oh again, I'm no River or Boca fan. I'm from Germany and I don't give much about the Ultras bouncing and singing. Okay, it gives a nice atmosphere. Sometimes even this bothers me because it always the same, no matter what happens on the pitch. 3:0 up or 0:3 down. The Ultras are celebrating _(themselves?)_ during the whole game. It sometimes even looks like they miss a goal. They definitely miss many chances, since they are busy celebrating themselves... I, for myself, like to actually watch the match! Disgrace that CARP fans threw rocks through the windows of the Boca bus. Then again, why go in with bells and whistles? Get 8 blacked out taxis and drive the players in from the side. Not like it's a long drive and they need the full bus facilities.
The game was already in disgrace and disrepute by the time the first time the second leg was postponed/cancelled. The reality is that these games still involve violence despite no matter how much regulation and history of deaths surrounding the game. They could have moved the game to Doha to appease the Qatari sponsors of the competition. Instead they respected the fact that Spain has a huge Argentine contingent. I went to the game, and I've been to the Bernabeu before for a champions league game. The atmosphere was nothing like I had seen before in European football.
As a Brazilian I'll just give you one advice: don't wear any of the clubs's uniforms, it's too dangerous in any derby match in Brazil, imagine the Superclasico

That’s not true, look at the derbies in Greece, Poland, Serbia, Turkey it’s up there was the atmosphere in Argentina.
I mean Barca vs real madrid draws in 500 million viewers worldwide it used to back in 2010- 2018 but the culture and overall events leading up to the match in regards to boca vs river is unreal and unmatched coca cola changing there colors just to sell things is nuts though in 2015 barca did beat river plate and boca juniors
El River vs Boca es el mas importante de Argentina pero el peor es Central vs Newell's
By far the best documentary I've ever watched in my life...it left a bit of a sour taste in the sense that they didn't film the end in madrid, but such is the emotion and quality of this documentary that it still classifies and the best ever❤🙌🔥😭
Steady on mate
As an Argentinian, the ending is right, the atmosphere was gone, the taxi driver was right, the feeling of "the game of the century" was gone. Then the next year when we faced again in Semis, the atmosphere against wasn´t as strong.
Gracias amigo!
It won’t be another Super Classico matches like this EVER!!. History was made river plate champion copa libertadores🏆. No matter what happened, we beat boca the 🐷 and witness this in our life. We may be relegated to division B before for one season but we dominate boca ever since and now we are champion of the biggest competition in South America. “BOCA REMEMBER THIS IN HISTORY WE BEAT YOU LIKE 🐷”

Diego Gomez hey hello mate! I’m a huge fan of river plate and I do follow Argentinian football too. I wanted to get the river plate jersey but in my country they don’t sell it here. If u could help me with this it would mean a lot for me. I do want the jersey that river plate beat boca junior with the champions logo copa libertadores. Help me with this🙏🙏🙏 do dm me. Cheers!

Argentinian football is a whole other thing compared to everywhere else. The constant bouncing and singing, it looks and sounds amazing.
With all it's ups and downs. Today I even prefer to sit in the stadium.
@@yannick245 Its not about celebrating themselves as you say, you sing and cheer for the team even if they are 0:3, they are singing for the team to do good, and believe me the never miss a goal or something

Hands down the best derby ever. And all those 'game postponed' twists spiced up things even more.
I can feel their emotions. Before Copa final 2021 Argentina vs Brazil, I couldn't sleep. It was hard even to watch live on TV. I can only imagine how it would feel to be in stadium, putting everything in line.

Disgrace that the second leg was played in Madrid.
Disgrace that CARP fans threw rocks through the windows of the Boca bus. Then again, why go in with bells and whistles? Get 8 blacked out taxis and drive the players in from the side. Not like it's a long drive and they need the full bus facilities.

They should've played in Uruguay. But hey, money talked hard.
@@theobuniel9643 the goal was to keep ultras out how can u do that playing in uruguay lol

Yes, Boca vs River is probably the greatest derby in the world. This should've been the greatest final ever. But CONMEBOL managed to make this great game into the biggest embarrassment in the history of south american football. Playing the game in Madrid was against everything the name LIBERTADORES stands for, is literally handing over our greatest final ever to our colonizers. Absolutely disgraceful.
Great video btw.
Agree, conmebol it's a big shit in the world.
