It amazes me after years of living a minimalist lifestyle how I can still do a declutter and find so many items to let go of. I hope you find a wonderful new home for you and your kitties 🏠🐱

I think one of the hardest parts of decluttering is knowing what to do with the things, where to give them away or sell them if you don't just want to put them in a box on the street (one of the preferred methods where I live nowadays). It is a good system you have with the giveaway shelf for your neighbours.
I'm fortunate to have all these options!
They usually have them in apartment buildings, or people pick stuff up from the curb in the city. Not so much in suburbia
Do you have a Buy Nothing or freecycle group in your area Pamela? That’s how I pass on a lot of things.
@@olivemaycards yes, we have a number of groups like that, and I also get rid of things that way sometimes. Sadly, however, many people still just dump things on the street to rot, especially large items like sofas and mattresses that nobody wants because of the resurgence of the bedbug problem.
Such a good idea to do a declutter before a move is even happening.....a calm way to make a keep or give away decision. I'm not planning a move but tomorrow I'm going to pretend I am and do a walk through my tiny house. Thanks for the motivation!

LOVE those Iittala glass decorations! But not everything can stay. Very inspiring video. I've recently decluttered for a garage sale but this makes me want to re-evaluate and maybe find a few more things that can go. :)

Excited to see where you move to! I love seeing how people move and set up new homes :) I’m also fascinated by your waste disposal options in Sweden. I’m part of a Buy Nothing group here that works a bit like your bulky trash room but it’s a lot less convenient! Thanks for the motivation to declutter a few more things.

Your decluttering style is very much like mine. I do it on the regular. I also practice the one in-one out rule. Some friends criticize my methods but I think they hang on to too much stuff. I have kept my silver flatware and use it every day. It’s great you’ve got so many options for selling, donating or recycling items in Stockholm. Can’t wait to see your new place.

You are always an inspiration to declutter. I need to do this again, as we moved into our new home 1 1/2 years ago. Decluttered prior to moving, but still have so much stuff we no longer use!!
I always feel that you need to bring some things to try out and if they don’t work you can always declutter after.
Great video! I'm going through the same thing right now and that is preparing to move but it won't be for a year. Still, I have decided to go even more minimal in my life even if I wasn't moving. I sort of hit the wall once again, lol, and I have really purged a lot!!! We've decided that at our age it's time for a smaller home that's easier to clean and closer to downtown. So watching this video was a great plus. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and habits with us all.

Nice you will be closer to family. All the best to your move and future. I live like you and I too still find things to recycle and get rid of. My parents left me a 4 bedroom house with so much stuff in it, that I had to get rid of before I sold it. It was overwhelming and never want to be in that position. I too got rid of a lot of my thing in my storage room this week. Again, so looking forward to your room and next video. All the best.

Congratulations on the move !! We moved too this month and packing and unpacking is exhausting. But I have been inspired by your minimalism journey so there were not too many items to fret about. I use Trendsales to sell some of my unused items in Denmark.They may operate in Sweden too in case you want further options. I bought some nice decor from there too. One mans trash is another mans treasure. Good luck 😊😊

I’ve had to pack my house into storage as we travel during the summer and will be moving to the new house in autumn so I decluttered quite aggressively. There is something super satisfying about knowing everything that’s waiting to be unpacked is wanted, useful and in good shape…bringing anything unwanted, useless or worn out with us into new space just feels wrong…and paying for moving and storing it as well!
Speaking of traveling during the summer , we are spending whole glorious month in France so I’m motivated to brush up on my French while here so your babble recommendation comes very handy! Xxx

Just moved and also did a decluttering of my already minimalist lifestyle and if I wasn't an artist I would really only have 3 furniture items, 20 clothing articles that include shows and 6 books (one that I published). Such a clear, clean, calm environment (even more)...Thanks for sharing and looking forward to seeing your new space.
I always find a move “cleansing” when evaluating and touching everything going to the new place. You definitely are an inspiration for light and clean living … and keeping family close.

I’ve always loved the lamps with the parrots ! The best thing about your place is the outdoor space and I’m sure the kitties enjoyed it. I have an 18 year old cat and she literally sleeps 22 hours a day. I never list items that I declutter either… too much of a hassle. I usually check with family and friends first; then post on face book. If there are no takers I will donate.
They do sleep a lot at this age, don’t they! I would too if I was 88!😊
