Agreed! Used it for nursing all three of my kiddos and it held up great. I was able to then pass it along to another expecting mama. Love the color Megan found and that it helped her so much on their nursing journey! ❤️

@@dianeklein7922 I know!! That's honestly my only complaint, they just don't have a lot of cute colors 😂 Megan found a super cute one though, so I have hope! Not that it's a BIG deal or anything, but a minor downside for sure 😛

Just a warning for the pump, if you are a full time pumper, any lactation consultant will warn you that pumps that go in bras do have the most common risk of not emptying you and therefore depleting your supply. Just a warning!

Just sharing another experience. I was a full time pumper from 10-12 months postpartum when my son stopped wanting to nurse and used the spectra s2 and freemie cups with no supply issues. I did use some manual compressions at the end to make sure I was empty though. Trying to decide between the buddha baby and elvie stride and either the freemie cups again or the legendairy cups.

I was an exclusive pumper with Elvie and I think it really depends on you getting the correct flange size, which can be different than a regular pump. 27 flange on my motif Luna and the 24 on Elvie. When I was using the biggest flange on Elvie I felt that I wasn’t empty so I would hand pump after and still get a decent amount t changed flanges and totally empty after

@@elizabethwelch579 hey! My son seemingly doesn't want to nurse anymore either, did you just start pumping and bottle feeding when this happened? I feel like I would but I also feel like my supply is now crap since he's only nursing for like 3 mins in total these days. I'm torn between formula or pumping which might increase my supply. My son is 10 months

@@nataywebb we always had a difficult time with nursing and it never stopped being painful, but I kept trying to make it work because I felt like it was what I was supposed to do. We got to a point where I would try to get him to nurse and he would look at me and shake his head. At that point, I switched to pumping and my supply actually increased quite a bit because the pump was more efficient than his nursing. He also started putting on more weight so I think it was best for both of us. I wfh so that made exclusive pumping much more sustainable. Depends on your situation with switching to formula.

@@nataywebb if you can pump, do so! I learned from this when my supply seemed there, but I had latch issues when my baby was born. You can increase your supply by simulating a need for your body to create more milk. If you can't afford a pump, and you have health insurance, they will pay for a pump (or if you don't want to receive one to have them will let you rent one to increase your supply). Insurance will cover your pump. The Medela pump is usually fully covered and lower cost. Spectra cost some additional money sometimes. And they will cover lactation support from AN IBCLC, so call them and ask them what needs to be done to see lactation. Also, might be a good idea to reach out to your baby's Pediatrician to make sure you get their support if your little one isn't wanting to nurse, just to rule out being sick or anything. Deep breaths, and you've got this, Momma!

I purchased a used owlet smart sock from a family member and it was basically brand new, I believe she used it for maybe a few months? But I paid like a 3rd of the price and we loved it, same issue, my daughter was born early January and was stuffy/congested for like 2-3 months and it gave me such peace of mind!

Do you know the difference between the owlet smart sock and owlet dream sock? & why you prefer the smart sock ? I’m due in March & was planning on getting the dream sock, we used the smart sock with my daughter but it stopped working so I need to purchase a new one ! 😊

    • @MeganAcuna

The dream sock doesn’t check oxygen or heart rate!

  • @SmileforaSecond

The sleep sock makes me so nervous. I’ve seen pediatricians and pediatric occupational therapist talk about how the sock isn’t actually that accurate, so the measurements you receive might not actually reflect what’s going on with the baby. It’s such a good idea, and I feel like it would be awesome if it were accurate, but I’m scared to use one because I think I would obsess over the metrics.

I know this is a little less of a concern when you're just pumping sporadically, but did you notice that the amount you pumped was less? That's the only concern I've heard with the Elvie pumps and other similar ones is that the suction isn't as great and so you don't empty your breasts as easily.
