I never understood the purpose of the Iron Daemons. Their range is so small that you have to get super close to get shots off but then they’ve got pretty low armor and do virtually nothing in combat. They seriously need a buff. Or at the very least have a toggle to fire at single entities better like the Rockets / Eagle Bolt thrower.
They’re a pretty decent chariot with collision attacks, and the More Power ability allows them to push through most infantry in the game with ease. The trick is to never actually leave them in combat at all and just have them constantly on the move trampling over whatever’s in their way. Most melee units won’t be able to hit them at all. It is very micro intensive though. The Skullcracker is generally slightly better at that role, the Iron Daemon mostly provides the alternative firing mechanism, which can still do impressive damage in the right positioning even if it is short range. I’d say they’re just more of a finicky anti-infantry unit rather than necessarily bad. There’s no reason to give them a long range attack though, Chorfs have plenty of alternatives for that, including the variant of Iron Daemons with the mortars, so it would be pretty redundant.
Chorfs "tank" porpose is not to be a tank, but a fast mechanical chariot with an antiinfantry blunderbuss. It actually looks more like a railway engine lol. I treat it as a "cavalry-esque" iron thing. Just hide it somewhere, and then charge enemy troops in the back when they are engaged in melee combat. It has 75 speed, same as heavy cavalry, while Empire tank has 35 or 40. And it's more useful for cycle charging than prolonged melee combat, just like a chariot.
Total War: War Thunder😂
WE ARE THE FRANZER ELITE!
BORN TO COMPETE
damn chorf engineering looks more environmental-friendly unless all that smoke was pure water steam
Yeahhh with the steam tank armour and missile block chance changes, I doubt 3 iron demons could kill it.
I was waiting for the iron daemon to get close and 2 shot the steam tank with its shotgun shot….. never happened though haha

i thought their purpose was to drag the mortar
