Thank you so much, Jacob. I just printed out my game and will color it in a little later. I’ve decided the winner of the game will receive a pinecone shaped speculaas cookie. My mom has pine trees with extremely small pine cones that will make perfect game pieces. Well, I need to get to baking. 🥰
Sounds like fun! Is there a modern version of the game played in Europe? Love your cozy holiday decorations and your cute cohost. So determined to share the spotlight ❤ Have a wonderful week!
I am the oldest of 5 siblings who are coming to our house with their families for about 4 days over Christmas. I will be printing out several of these for us to play! I’m thinking Hershey’s kisses in colorful colors would be a fun stake to use! Sounds like fun! I’m guessing that the origin of the game is Dutch? Thank you for sharing what may be a new addition to our tradition! As you might imagine, with 5 children, many games were played…and still are to this day! Hope you have a blessed holiday!
Oh that is lovely Susan! Yes, chocolates are a great stake to play with! Games like these were played pretty much all over Europe - I don't think this one is particularly limited to the Dutch, though there are quite a few game boards kept in the collection of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam :).
Thank you for the game! This could be a new tradition during the holiday season. Games can get rather high spirited and that is where memories are made. Happy Christmas, Jacob! 🎄
Thank you Ger! I wish I was - but I had to travel for the first 8 days of December so I've not been able to join in. Perhaps next year! I'm working on some other projects though - so I am definitely getting some stitches in! :D
How fun. I will be sharing this game with my kids. Thank you for a new game to play ❤

Thank you Barbara - yes, I think it would be real fun - it's not too difficult, and it's a great game of chance! :)

Thank you Maryan! It really is such a pretty game board as well... my little helper is called Mira :D

Thanks for sharing the game! How many players max would be a good amount?
There's no max or minimum apparently - the very old rules don't state it. I guess you can play in groups as well, if there's too many players! :D
