Nice picks, and several of them are ones that didn't strike me as obvious good choices, but you explained your reasoning well. Related/unrelated: maybe the nudity in "Salt and Sanctuary" was the skeletons? They are buck-naked, you know! ;) Anyway, here are my picks: *Atari Flashback Classics -- Three whole console generations' worth of arcade-style content, curated as a "best of" collection. 'Nuff said! *Deemo, Musynx, or Xonic -- All rhythm games with tons of content and even more DLC. Deemo tends toward the classical, the other two toward pop and electronic music. *Shakedown Hawaii -- Hey, building a questionably-legal business empire is time-consuming but fun! *Trillion: God of Destruction -- A criminally underrated strategy RPG with great characters (yes, James, WAIFU characters!) and the most ridiculously overpowered boss most of us will ever run across. *Disgaea 3 or Disgaea 4 -- One can sink a stupid amount of time into this strategy series if you feel like being a completionist. They're funny, too. *Skyforce Anniversay -- For a game with "only" 8 levels, I sank a ton of time into this glorious shmup. Finding its many secrets, grinding to upgrade your ship, and surviving its steadily rising difficulty curve can provide well over a week of entertainment. *Nonary Games -- Two visual novels for the price of one! Also grab "Zero Escape" if you want to finish the trilogy. *Fate Extra -- Okay, this is kind of cheating (it's a PSP game available as a digital download), but this quirky JRPG has a TON of replay value and is just a wonderful game. You can choose from 3 partner "Servants" and make a mid-game choice that completely alters the second half of the story, giving you at least 6 very different plotlines to play through if you felt like it. It's also really cheap as a digital download and looks lovely on the Vita. Hopefully that gives some variety to please many a gamer palate. Stay safe, everyone! :-)
I remember playing Tokyo Xanadu for months back in 2017. I first bought the regular edition, then bought the deluxe edition for the Vita. Planning on buying it on PS4 as well.
Yeah, I'm playing it on the PS4, and it adds some nice extra content, and allegedly has a better translation for the second half of the game (I have only gotten to Chapter 3 so far). I'm playing it in Nightmare mode, which is actually a big improvement since it forces me to figure out the bosses patterns instead of being able to just brute Force my way through. I swear that facing the new boss at the end of the 1st side story was almost exactly like facing one of those damn Valkyries in God of War 4, and just as satisfying when I eventually defeated it.
lnsflare1 interesting! Thanks for the info! Haven’t researched about the differences of the PS4 version from the Vita. Will definitely pick up this game again from our local store after the quarantine. Thanks!
This would be my list: Persona 4, Soul Sacrifice, Killzone (botmatches = endless playability), AC Liberation, Gravity Rush, Resistance, NFS Most Wanted, Ragnarok Odyssey, and Metal Gear Solid HD. Plenty of hours right there.
Legend of Heroes: Zero no Kiseki Evolution and Ao no Kiseki Evolution ;) Sadly there is no working english patch for Ao no Kiseki Evolution on the Vita, so you have to switch to the PSP version for this game.

Tokyo Xanadu was super underrated. People always says it’s similar to Persona 4. Maybe, but if you’ve played the YS and Trails/Kiseki series, you know exactly where this game gets its inspiration from.
Thanks for the wonderful video game selection to pass the time. I hope you are enjoying a lot of quality time of the PS Vita and as well enjoying the time with that disembodied voice there.

I just wish like I said on your last vid though, that Secret of Mana would get physical for the Vita, as well as poor ignored Adventures of Mana remake (physical on ANY console would be nice there!) I bought a Vita like new for like 20bucks back in January (considering this is in Argentina I think it was a steal) the best transaction in my life, been loving the little thing since I first held it in my hands.
Hope you are keeping well James,. We don't JUST play the vita,as we own other handhelds, but Minecraft is definitely great ( except for the tiny text), but one game that keeps me coming back to the Vita ,Borderlands 2,never gets old hearing the conversations and shooting the crap out of everything!. If it's just laid back gaming you're after then I suggest Yomawari night alone and midnight shadows. Currently invested in SAO:HR. Its been awhile since I've done some hardcore grinding... of lvl and materials of course.
The waifu wars is the only war I support. I recommend Criminal Girls 1 the game took me almost 80 hours to complete. And you get to 'bond' with lots of waifus.. hehe
Currently playing World of Final Fantasy and loving every second of it. The beautiful visuals, the adorable chibi renditions of classic FF characters and monsters, the addictive yet somewhat broken-at-times Mirage system, etc. This game is a hidden gem in the series and I highly recommend it.
another I would add to this list is Tales of Hearts R, it may not be the best tales game but the fact we have a tales game of this quality on the go is amazing, unless you have a 3ds for Tales of Abyss this is the best you can play. There are some memorable characters and the more classic overworld of my favourite generation of jrpgs are present and the humour is top notch. Keep an eye on this one as it isn't mentioned very often!
I am stuck with my anti gaming parents right now. And I mean it as they have thrown out my gaming stuff behind my back whenever possible. They would be anti smart phone too but they use them. So thanks for the video, but I only can do so much gaming right now Cheers
-Freedom wars. This one is good spent a lot just to get a good loot. -Marvelous games *Lenny Face* -FFX and X-2 All SAO games (except Lost song; that flying feature is laggy unless you have that "plugin" )
I recommend ray gigant. It's a dungeon crawler jRPG with some VN elements and a gorgeous art style. Characters are typical anime tropes but the gameplay and visuals make it worthwhile
Such a convenience that a bought a ps vita and hacked it a couple days before the shutdown. Still sad that sony let it down :( Much love from Canada keep it up 👊🏾
My favourite game on the PSVita is Shinobido 2: Revenge of Zen. I'm a Tenchu fan from the PS1 & PS2 & Shinobido 2 is the closest Ninja Steath game to Tenchu!
My suggestions: Super Robt Wars (V or X), Final Fantasy VII (original - digital from the PS store), and for something completely different - World Tour Golf.
persona 4 golden is definitely a long game on the vita, and i plan on getting back to it after finishing persona 5 royal (ive been getting through it pretty quickly, im currently at the 4th palace)
Yeah if I weren't an essential worker I'd probably be playing through the sly series from the start. As it is now I'm still using the PS vita with PFBA for some classic arcade beatemups and fighters after work or my days off.
Ok I am too late but I will buy a ps vita slim. It’s just attractive. The Nintendo switch is not that expensive BUT it’s games are really, really expensive. I hope I find a cheap one from amazon because mostly eBay is going to not ship anything. BTW who remembers the PS Vita VR project?
I'd add Terraria and Don't Starve. You can pretty much play them both forever, if you don't focus on beating them... which I never have and probably never will.
I'm surprised no Monster Hunter style games are on here. Toukiden Kiwami, Soul Sacrifice Delta, and Freedom Wars are fantastic time sinks. As is Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed, a kart racer
Games that I would add and reasons why: - Dragon Quest Builders - A cross between Minecraft and Zelda with the art done by Dragon Ball franchise creator Akira Toriyama. -Muramasa Rebirth/Genroku Legends- Imagen if Devil May Cry was a side scroller and the style you used was an amalgamation of Trickster and Swordmaster and then swap the weapon Variety with a variety of unique play styles and 2 of the playable playable characters even have devil triggers -Little Big Planet Vita- The main campaign is a fun platformer and you also have a slightly less fun Mario Maker on top of that -Ninja Gaiden Sigma plus- Dark Souls before Dark Souls. In between the releases of Dark Souls and God Hand, this was the game that other game's difficulty was compared to. - Mortal Kombat - The 9th entry in the MK line-up and my personal favourite of the current trilogy MK9 comes at you with everything the console version does as well as all included DLC and an additional challenge tower with 100 floors
More additions: -Metal Gear Series- Metal Gear Solid 1, 2, 3, Portable Ops and Peace Walker are all available on the PS Vita and MGS3 also has Snake's two original games from the MSX. That's Metal Gear and Metal and Metal Gear 2 (prequels to MGS1) get included so you don't have to miss out on any lore - Akiba's Trip: Undead and Undressed - A hilarious 3D beat em up which is also a gigantic satire of otaku and weeb culture 10/10 would recommend
I sank hrs into rogue legacy. Plus the earth defence force games if u like more arcade action style (which I do 😁) u can't go wrong with these games. Lots of hidden depth with upgrades and weapon drops x
I was playing Silent Hill Origins, but I'm kinda tired of it after beating the first one recently. I'm going to give Resident Evil Revelations 2 a try, or better yet, Axiom Verge to scratch that Metroid itch!
I hope by the time the next switch is out. Hacking will be more stable on the online aspects and preventing ppl from getting banned. Backup your data always. 8-9 hours with better thermals=more overclock potential and stability. Yayy.
Which is better, Secret of Mana Remake or Legend of Mana (PSX)? Also, Tokyo Xanadu is more "What if Persona 3 was also Kingdom Hearts?" than it is Persona 4 lite (it definitely has better world building than the Persona series, which makes sense considering that it comes from the people that make the Legend of Heroes series), and I found that the Xanadu Research Club was much better at detective work than P4's Investigation Team, but that kind of makes sense considering that only Naoto was a professional investigator in the latter, while around half the cast of TX were at things like professional monster *hunters* (which involves locating where the invisible gate they are hiding behind is located) or genius hackers, or have networks of contacts throughout the city. Come to think of it, it might also be somewhat analogous to Secret of Mana, considering that it also had a party of 3 characters that you swap between.
Having a Hacked vita definitely gets me through hard times

Some very solid picks there Johnrey!
The waifu wars is the only war I support. I recommend Criminal Girls 1 the game took me almost 80 hours to complete. And you get to 'bond' with lots of waifus.. hehe
Lots of spanking going on.
I'll have to quarantine those lovely jail birds in my room.
Have you heared Atelier Games? A lot of waifus are in there. Rorona is my favorite :3
The newest one was definitely in this category.
I’m going thru alot of PS one classics like Metal Gear Solid & Silent Hill and currently playing the Zero Escape games!
Those games are gonna keep you busy for a good while! :)
Currently playing World of Final Fantasy and loving every second of it. The beautiful visuals, the adorable chibi renditions of classic FF characters and monsters, the addictive yet somewhat broken-at-times Mirage system, etc. This game is a hidden gem in the series and I highly recommend it.
Great recommendation there Martin, one of the best games on Vita!
@@PSVitaat2am Thanks James! I have a few more recommendations for this great device, including one I've replied in a comment thread below.
I just started playing my Vita again and I play Wipeout 2048, Spy Hunter, Vitamin Z, Mega Man Maverick Hunter X, and Mega Man X4
Love this list of games!
hey nice channel been binge watching today, i was thinking of playing the pyscho pass game as ive had it for years on the vita lol
Hey thank you for supporting the channel like that, I hope you enjoy your time here! :)
I have been playing the god of war collection on my hacked pstv. I definitely recommend it
Great port of a classic game!
another I would add to this list is Tales of Hearts R, it may not be the best tales game but the fact we have a tales game of this quality on the go is amazing, unless you have a 3ds for Tales of Abyss this is the best you can play. There are some memorable characters and the more classic overworld of my favourite generation of jrpgs are present and the humour is top notch. Keep an eye on this one as it isn't mentioned very often!
Appreciate your comment very much! :)
I was pissed off this video cheered me up. Thank you. Especially the not seeing butts line in s and s.
Hahahaha, glad to hear it helped your day Pat. :)
I am stuck with my anti gaming parents right now. And I mean it as they have thrown out my gaming stuff behind my back whenever possible. They would be anti smart phone too but they use them. So thanks for the video, but I only can do so much gaming right now
Cheers
Sorry to hear about your situation, hope things get better.
Spelunky has a good amount of content due to it being a rougelike
Very true, and quite the fun game!
-Freedom wars. This one is good spent a lot just to get a good loot.
-Marvelous games *Lenny Face*
-FFX and X-2
All SAO games (except Lost song; that flying feature is laggy unless you have that "plugin" )
Excellent games you chose there
Tokyo xandu has the best music ever I have ex. Buying it on the vita just to have something to play and enjoy the music.
You're right, music was epic!
I recommend ray gigant. It's a dungeon crawler jRPG with some VN elements and a gorgeous art style. Characters are typical anime tropes but the gameplay and visuals make it worthwhile
That was one of my runners up. :)
New game+ in P4Golden is GOLD
It 100% is! :)
Salt and sanctuary is awesome. So glad I picked it up from limited run. Stay safe everyone.
You too harry, thanks for watching!
I am currently playing through psp game called Third Birthday. It's pretty amazing so far on the level of Metla Gear Solid Peace Walker.
Oh heck yeah, loved the third birthday!
I didn’t even know you guys were going to include dragon crown. I have over 700 hours in this game. Dude we should play sometimes
Holy cow dude 700 hours?!?!?!
PSVita at 2am and up.... hehe
I bought psvita at the right time and currently playing persona 4 golden
Welcome to Vita Island!
Such a convenience that a bought a ps vita and hacked it a couple days before the shutdown. Still sad that sony let it down :( Much love from Canada keep it up 👊🏾
Appreciate your kind words. :)
I wish UA-camrs would leave limited run games out of the reviews because most people won't ever get to play them
Are you referring to Salt & Sanctuary? Because there is a digital version.
My favourite game on the PSVita is Shinobido 2: Revenge of Zen. I'm a Tenchu fan from the PS1 & PS2 & Shinobido 2 is the closest Ninja Steath game to Tenchu!
Awesome game there!
My suggestions: Super Robt Wars (V or X), Final Fantasy VII (original - digital from the PS store), and for something completely different - World Tour Golf.
Vita has so much to offer when it comes to solid hours of gameplay!
Odin Sphere
Solid pick!
@@PSVitaat2am indeed. Only just started playing it and it's already one of my faves! 🙏💖
Thanks for the ideas for games. Nothing like passing the time by with an excellent jrpg.
Very welcome, enjoy your games!
Moe Chronicle, just don't let anyone catch you. If they walk in turn on porn immediately.
Hahahaha, this comment is the best!
persona 4 golden is definitely a long game on the vita, and i plan on getting back to it after finishing persona 5 royal (ive been getting through it pretty quickly, im currently at the 4th palace)
Nice man, yeah Persona 5 Royal is a truly epic game!
Been playing soul sacrifice like CRAZY 🖤
You have great taste friend!
Wise words "don't eat bats"
Hahahaha!!!
Yeah if I weren't an essential worker I'd probably be playing through the sly series from the start. As it is now I'm still using the PS vita with PFBA for some classic arcade beatemups and fighters after work or my days off.
Good way to pass the time. Stay safe out there buddy!
Love your videos! 😊 was just looking for some games thanks!😁
No problem, enjoy your haul! :)
I got World of Final Fantasy a few weeks ago. Estimated time to platinum? 80 hours :)
Nice, you were pretty fast at that at only 80 hours.
@@PSVitaat2am I'm just going by what psnprofiles said lol
been waiting for my vita to come from tokyo, i had the 1000 and loved it but ended up trading it and now im gettin the 2000 and am pretty excited
Awesome Peak, glad to have you back on Vita Island!
@@PSVitaat2am heck yeah man
Ok I am too late but I will buy a ps vita slim. It’s just attractive. The Nintendo switch is not that expensive BUT it’s games are really, really expensive. I hope I find a cheap one from amazon because mostly eBay is going to not ship anything. BTW who remembers the PS Vita VR project?
Oooooh yeah I remember that!
I'd add Terraria and Don't Starve. You can pretty much play them both forever, if you don't focus on beating them... which I never have and probably never will.
I still need to try Don't Starve.
Trails of Cold Steel #1. I sank 184 hours into that game!
Dannnnnnnng, very nice! :)
Actually watching this at 2am 😎👍
That is PERFECT!!!!
I finished Catherine, now playing 3 PSP Crash Bandicoot games, I have no idea why I didnt play them.
Dude you are gonna be buuuuuuuuuuuuuusy with those!
There is real potential in a Vita UA-cam Channel... Yup
Thank you for saying so Simon, I think so too. :)
@@PSVitaat2am I'm in!
Welcome to the channel. :)
Salt and Sanctuary is such an awesome game.
Yup, one of the best!
@@PSVitaat2am
I've been tempted lately to start the ps4 version.
Fun fact: that's the LRG release that made me hate them.
I'm surprised no Monster Hunter style games are on here. Toukiden Kiwami, Soul Sacrifice Delta, and Freedom Wars are fantastic time sinks. As is Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed, a kart racer
Dude its funny, Sonic Racing entered my mind the day after I made this video. D'oh!
Games that I would add and reasons why:
- Dragon Quest Builders -
A cross between Minecraft and Zelda with the art done by Dragon Ball franchise creator Akira Toriyama.
-Muramasa Rebirth/Genroku Legends-
Imagen if Devil May Cry was a side scroller and the style you used was an amalgamation of Trickster and Swordmaster and then swap the weapon Variety with a variety of unique play styles and 2 of the playable playable characters even have devil triggers
-Little Big Planet Vita-
The main campaign is a fun platformer and you also have a slightly less fun Mario Maker on top of that
-Ninja Gaiden Sigma plus-
Dark Souls before Dark Souls. In between the releases of Dark Souls and God Hand, this was the game that other game's difficulty was compared to.
- Mortal Kombat -
The 9th entry in the MK line-up and my personal favourite of the current trilogy MK9 comes at you with everything the console version does as well as all included DLC and an additional challenge tower with 100 floors
More additions:
-Metal Gear Series-
Metal Gear Solid 1, 2, 3, Portable Ops and Peace Walker are all available on the PS Vita and MGS3 also has Snake's two original games from the MSX. That's Metal Gear and Metal and Metal Gear 2 (prequels to MGS1) get included so you don't have to miss out on any lore
- Akiba's Trip: Undead and Undressed -
A hilarious 3D beat em up which is also a gigantic satire of otaku and weeb culture
10/10 would recommend
Vita certainly has a ton of great games to pass the time with! :)
I just started playing Dragon Quest Builders and I love it! Super entertaining! 🙋🏻♂️
Lol he straight up just says it 1:26
Hahahaha!!
Please make more videos on this topic!
I definitely will. :)
I played Stardew Valley starting the quarantine on my PSvita.
Man.......
Well its a great game to start with.
Hope to see a ps vita version of dark siders series. Not a remote play but a real ps vita version of dark siders series.
That would be cool! :)
THX for list of games.
Hey don't mention it. :)
digimon story cyber sleuth & YS origin are the games I’m stuck on both dope as hell 🔥🔥
I still need to play Ys Origin.
I sank hrs into rogue legacy. Plus the earth defence force games if u like more arcade action style (which I do 😁) u can't go wrong with these games. Lots of hidden depth with upgrades and weapon drops x
I like your suggestions Rachel, thank you!
Tokyo Xanadu looks 🔥
Trust me you will love it! :)
Get you boys a copy of Ar NoSurge: Ode to an Unborn Star. It's one of my all time favorites
Definitely a super awesome game, and rare too these days.
My favorite is Odin sphere and muramasa rebirth
Beautiful Vanillaware games!
Playing a “New Game +” on Persona 4 Golden. Keep the cool videos coming 😁!
Will do buddy, thanks for watching!
I was playing Silent Hill Origins, but I'm kinda tired of it after beating the first one recently. I'm going to give Resident Evil Revelations 2 a try, or better yet, Axiom Verge to scratch that Metroid itch!
Duuuude Axiom Verge is da bomb, a true spiritual successor to Metroid. :)
Please try Cold Fear I am playing it right now .
A solid list to be honest. Gonna give a try to Mana. Cheers Brother.
Enjoy your new game my dude! :)
I'm currently playing tokyo xanadu. Loving it so far!
Epic game, one of my favs! :)
Freedom Wars.... So fn grindy BUT tons of fun
Vita has so much to offer when it comes to solid hours of gameplay!
Currently playing Soul Sacrifice so I suggest that game plus the sequal.
Delta is so much fun the hours just slip away!
Freedom Wars is pretty great.
Yeah hours and hours of fun!
I hope by the time the next switch is out. Hacking will be more stable on the online aspects and preventing ppl from getting banned. Backup your data always. 8-9 hours with better thermals=more overclock potential and stability. Yayy.
I'm sure it will in the future!
ys memories of celceta and ys lacrimosa of dana are one of my best games
Appreciate your comment very much! :)
Brave story,hexys force
Awesome my dude!
You can spend some weeks in Soul Sacrafice (Delta)
Yes this is quite true, epic game!
Hmmm very interesting analysis there Insflare, you make some great points!
I think it's finally time to give persona 4 a try
You won't regret it!
