How to remove the code once it’s installed
Thank you the one i have is a 907
Mine keeps auto locking but keeps beeping every 10 seconds and won’t fully lock how do I fix this? It’s in a new home I purchased
very helpful. thanks a ton
Any time Ashley!
I like that you mention the 8 user codes. Not sure how you add or erase, but cool feature that merchant doesn't have listed. So this doesn't work with your smart phone?
hey Penny,
no smart phone needed as it is not wifi
When I clicked I thought it was a LPL video. I was like,”bet he has a super easy way into this!”
My status lights don't work consistently even when I put in new batteries. This unit is new. Have I installed something wrong?
I advise you to contact Kwikset ASAP. My daughter informed me about the keypad backlight no longer working because I rarely enter our home through the door that contains this lock. We attempted all troubleshooting suggestions, even with assistance from Kwikset reps, with no success. Unfortunately, the retailer warranty had expired and Kwikset does not cover keypad lighting defects with their "lifetime" warranty. This model has become less expensive, but we paid over $125 at the time of purchase for a keyless lock that could be utilized in the dark!!!!
Great video, thanks for posting. The tool/key that it comes with, doesn’t look proprietary or even complex. What’s to stop another owner of the same type of lock from changing to their key and opening my door?
The key can't be changed without having a working key in the lock. The tool for setting the lock actuates the tumbler resetting function once the lock is turned open. If someone put a key that doesn't work in the lock and tries to change the code with the tool, it won't work.
How did you get it to work towards the left? It defaults to the right side and I haven’t seen specific instructions for install, if I need to do something different. Thanks!
Hey Lea. Have to be honest...its brenda while since I made this video and I don't even have the unit anymore. Sorry I couldn't be more help
Thanks, I thought the red light blinking meant my batteries were bad. What does it do when the batteries are going bad?
Khaira , all I could find on the wept page is that a low battery indicator light will warn you when the batteries get low. I would assume to say that it is probably yellow.
According to the manual the colors mean:
Blinking Green=unlocked
Blinking Amber=locked
Blinking Red=low battery
Solid red=door handling process failed. Refer to troubleshooting.
We just bought a house with this lock. They did not leave us anything for it, not even a Manuel. Our door isn't locking anymore... There is a beeping sound. Is tell battery dead?
If it's beeping that means the batteries need to be changed.
How do you get rid of the temporary code???
How do you remove the screws on the back cover? It says there is a tool that came with the lock, but I can't find it.
Hey Pam,
You should have received a long, thin metal Allen wrench. This is the tool that is used to remove the three screws. If you cannot find it, or if they forgot to ship it, you can go to the local hardware store and pick up a small set for cheap. Hope this helps!
nice
I moved to a new house I found this lock with a code that I don’t have so I can’t change it what to do ?
You press the programming button once and enter a new code for the first user. after that press the program button 2 times for the second user code and so on.

GREATEST THING SINCE SLICED BREAD..AAAA+
Do you use the Auto Lock feature? Ours just keeps clicking and then locks us in or out
Its kind of a pain. I leave mine on, but I know what you mean
@@ToolReviewZone wait so when you use the auto lock. Every few min it starts clicking very loud for no reason. Is that happening to you too?
How do I remove the back cover to change the codes? Thanks
Hey brent. There are three screws *one on the left, one on right and one underneath) that holds the back plate on. Once you remove those little screws, the plate will slide off. I hope this helps
Does the keypad light up at night? Mine doesn’t for some reason. I just bought it
Should definitely light up
@@ToolReviewZone it only lights up after I push the lock button twice
Ahhh got it. Yeah, the light’s will go out to conserve battery life. Only when you push the button will it illuminate
How do you erase all codes?
My light stopped working? Do you know how to fix?
Batteries need changed? 🤔
How do you push the 1 button and get a 2? I just bought a house with one.
+Jason Bockenfeld Hey Jason. Can you clarify? Not really sure what you mean?
For the record I figured it out that 1 and 2 arent any different so 1234 and 1133 would be the same code at least on mine because to get the 2 you only need to hit the button once. I was trying to press it twice for the second number.
Raptor 246, buy/adverse possession same difference. Lol
Do you have to press the black button in the back two times to set a second code?, three times for the third one and so on?.
Does the keypad light up for easier use at night?
Hey Michael, I swear when I got these that they lit up green, but they dont now. Long story short, I have two of them and they dont light up
Bummer. Great review though, thank you!!
@@ToolReviewZone I am very dissatisfied with this product. We've had ours for about 3 years, and the backlight quit working about a year ago. Called Kwikset, and was told, the backlight isn't covered in the lifetime warranty. So, bought another, no backlight. The keypad backlight is a VERY important feature of this lock. With that being said, I'm also disappointed with the extreme loudness of the motor.
Yeah I can agree with you on both these points. It should have a lifetime warranty on the light, and it is a bit loud.
Hey I discovered that if you press the LOCK button first, the whole keypad lights up! So if it's dark, press the lock button, then punch in your code. YAY!!!!
can it be picked
Hi Leona,
I don't want to say no, because I'm sure there are some skilled thieves out there, but I will say this, they are made to stand up to just about anything. Also, last month someone tried to get into my garage. Look like the took a metal hammer to my door, and also to the lock. Needles to say, it held up and they did not get in. It's tough
Any lock can be picked. And any electronic can be hacked.
How do you program the stupid thing
ua-cam.com/video/YBvQbrhghDE/v-deo.html
Mine is crap Brand new!!!!!! Key don't work! Coputer keeps going backwards!!!!!! I HATE KWIKSET GO AHEAD AND WASTE A WHOLE DAY OF YOUR LIFE! THEY SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Bah ha ha! And the backlight malfunctioning is not covered under the Kwikset "lifetime" warranty, although it is an advertised and important component of the lock.
Piece of junk 909 model, just bought one and will be bringing it back.
Piece of shit. The digit stopped working outside at minus 40. Took my kid 20 minutes to get in after school.
