Excellent- glad you enjoyed it, I think the new rules play really well and speed the game up. I am not looking forward to seeing Ricks new cheese v3 German army… 😱
@@theministryofminiatures Yeah I was on the fence after a couple of tester games, but I think it's an improvement over V2, but still too early to tell! Haha yes! , you should start a new series 'Rick Unchained' as I'm sure he'll be in his element now free of restrictions 😂 Now I need to catch-up on your Viking hail Caesar video! Thanks again 😁
I do like it, just still trying to unremember some of the old rules! Let me know what you thought of the viking game… I think George and I will probably do an ACW Black Powder game next.
@@theministryofminiatures Well. i've seen some damned silly bolt action armies, so yeah, definitely, a positive. (Mind you, I played Gw games for years, so theses days I want to play against opposing force that are at least historically plausible). A very good game to watch and some very nice models!
Thank you! We have agreed to either play historical or cheese, that way at least we both have a viable battle with suitable armies! Glad you enjoyed it and welcome 👍🏻
Gentlemen, a very enjoyable report! The dawn assault rule worked very well. Also, that singular 'bugger' in the entire game made me laugh out loud. Couple of beauty mistakes, which you've once again very acccurately rectified in your addendums. Also, I really appreciate the scenario you picked, not very flashy or often heard of, but a nasty battle all the same (and fairly close to home for me!) Please keep adding content, as it is most enjoyable! Thank you for putting your videos out there. Hats off for the enjoyable report.
Thank you, both for the comment and the feedback, really appreciate it as it helps us know that we are doing is liked and enjoyed. We are trying to balance historical games with some less so, but I do enjoy the history side and having a well balanced battle… even if it does come down to the wire! Thanks again 👍🏻
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it, we certainly did (i had to edit over an hours worth of banter out as the video was far too long). Night rules are certainly a twist on normal games, as are some of the other rules for weather conditions etc. Good luck with your Bolt Action journey 👍🏻

Hello from Canada! Great to see a historical Canadian battle. I served int he Calgary Highlanders (1990-2000) and my grandfather was in the regiment in WW2 . One thing though, there never was a Canadian "Scottish" division, it just turned out there were a lot of Highland regiments. Particularly in the 2nd and 3rd Divisions. We still have 16 on our Order of Battle in the Canadian army. Since you are doing Op Switchback and the battle of the Schelt, would you do a Walcheren Causeway scenario on or near the 31st of October?
@@westernfreedom5031 amazing! Hopefully we did the battle justice for a Bolt Action game. We can look at the scenario for a potential future game and I will speak with Rick about it 👍🏻 Thank you for such a personal comment.
I shall look into this battle and do some research. Hopefully we can play this battle after the next game which will be a scenario based one. My father served throughout the war from Dunkirk to right through the Normandy campaign to Germany. He very rarely talked about any of the war. Having researched some of the terrible battles in 1944 I can see why. This is why I like to research this part of the war in Europe, I personally think that Bolt Action shows the struggle and sacrifice of the brave men who fought for the freedom of myself and future generations.
Thanks for the video. Great scenery. Couple of rules checks: An officer who Snap-Tos cannot be given a down order. Also, I don't think that you're permitted to give an Ambush order to Indirect Fire. I may be wrong, mind you.
Thanks for the comment, yes you are correct on both counts, it’s easy to miss bits what with the new rules, heat of battle and trying to film! Hopefully it didn’t ruin it!
I know! Running out on a 1 or 2 is quite a change and more likely to happen… that is a big point sink for vehicle flamethrowers… not sure if I will take one again but it could have been fun! In v2 my wasp used to run a mock and was a great fun. Thanks for the comment 👍🏻

Yes you can… The very first line of the Sherman Medium tanks says: - Gain the Easily catches fire rule for -5pnts (M4A1), OR the easily catches fire and weak side rule for -15pnts (M4). So by not taking off 15 point and not having the M4 You can.
