@@nightguardianx-chrisUhh, did you even watch the video? The Japanese playerbase are having massive issues with the game as it is right now, and this is without AGS even touching it, dude.
Sadly they killed the franchise with god eater3 first with terrible story and then with the lack of support. The game had potential and it was really fun to play, but yeah it's all over and there is no point of making a new god eater anymore. @@winghong3
The devs did a really good job of killing the hype this game had. Let this be a lesson how NOT to manage your community. Why is it so hard for them when they already have good examples to follow? Maybe it's because there are more bad examples than good? But it's their job to sort that out. It seems like the devs really have their priorities askew, worrying about what they shouldn't and not worrying about what they should. They care more about banning foreign players (including false positives) than they do improving the game.
They seen to be taking lesson from the used to be popular japan mmo PSO2, but that game is falling HARD right now and they choose the follow the failing path that game is going.
@@forslos8756 says who, actually? pso2 is actually pretty steady as of now. story isnt stellar, but story never really was the point of 3d ps games frankly, gearing could be better, but we're getting actually good content now that is worth running and actually helps with gearing and is permanent (tho i wish they would finally fix the damn balance already). Hell - we are getting multiple collabs running almost one after another, with one after Uncle from Another World being Oshi No Ko. Aint no failing game gonna get such a collab, frankly. At this point its just a part of Bamco Curse of Greed.
Isso acontece porque os desenvolvedores muitas vezes não acompanham a rotina e história de outros jogos do mesmo gênero. Eles são contratados pra fazer algo e pronto. Fica claro que não houve preparo algum para esse dev stream.
Games as live services tend to be a cashgrab since that model of monetization is a business-centered mentality. It's very rare when a live service can be truly a game, almost a work of art, like Genshin. Devs, management, writers and artists need to be good, have some sort of freedom and work together (lots of communication) to bring a truly good game that isn't limited by choices made by the higher ups to predate on players. Oh yeah, and if the workers also have good salaries, no crunch and proper work conditions it's better, and we know Bamco doesn't have those.
This stream was definitely the nail in the coffin for many players. Summer event had practically no story and you went directly to hunting a huge amount of goblins nonstop, and raids were just existing bosses with different colors. Content was not just incredibly dry and shallow, but existing systems had all sorts of problems. In the japanese side, a relatively common "argument" is that Blue protocol isn't an MMO - this is because Bandai Namco has been advertising it not as an MMO, but as a Multiplayer Action RPG. The issue is it is forced multiplayer so it really isn't any different from an MMO, except it didn't include any of the things that made MMOs great such as trading, housing, communication, and etc. Everyone is a DPS, supports don't exist and everyone is just individually smacking a big boss. Taunt doesn't even work. Yet not only is the MMO portion hopeless, the Action is also incredibly lackluster. All you do is spam normals and use your few skills when off cooldown. For spellcasters all you do is literally spam icicle from a distance. Literally all you do is nothing else, and they went and nerfed it. People were already expecting the stream to fail so hard and honestly none of us could have expected it to be this bad. It is not an exaggeration to say that this stream could decide blue protocols fate and it was by far the worse scenario anyone could have imagined. It doesn't help that genshin's huge update is literally on the same day as blue protocol's, and genshin's update comes earlier.
Damn, I saw everyone so angry about the global version's issues that I didn't realize all this was going on. This genuinely has me worried about how the game will turn out. To have a dev stream where the devs don't even seem to know what they're talking about is by far more troubling than BP's current content. I hope they can get their stuff together, cuz it'd be a shame for a game to be anticipated for years just to flop shortly after release.
Wouldn't exactly be the first time either. People love overhyping anything these days. BP will just be yet another unreasonably overhyped MMORPG that ends up under delivering, and it's not like people couldn't see this coming either, they just didn't want to believe their waifu anime game was going to end up being garbage. Every single one of their showcases leading up to release talked almost exclusively about monetization and how amazing their 5 flavors of battle passes are instead of focusing on core gameplay aspects and the gameplay loop.. I guess now we know why, because they had nothing to show for it, and still don't
why are you worried? are you commited to it? did you fund it with a high percentage of your income/savings? doubt it, so stop spouting random words to receive attention, dog
I have a strong feeling that whatever team is publishing BP from AGS is entirely different from Lost Ark. Because Lost Ark recently has been managed well and is getting it's best ever patch. How the hell is AGS doing so poorly for BP and the game is not even out yet for global lol.
all MMORPGs gets overhyped because there are a thirst for them, out of 100 only one stays@@hua.. yeah the older ones that are around till today are good but people aways craves for the new thing

@@Otherwise_1 pvp is absolutely not required for a game to be good. thats a shallow western sentiment. its a lazy addition to keep players occupied between pve sessions, and without it, the pve is doing more heavy lifting. so you need phenomenal pve content. it can be done and whenever I hear people whining about pvp, I get more and more thankful when a game ditches it. PvP players are 10x's more predictable than any scripted boss.
Let me summarize the issues for those who have short attention spans.. (listed all 5 points) 1. Lack of Communication during a Class Introductory stream or Proper Explanation or showcase of the Classes mechanics. 2. Lack of a Streamlined Mission or Bounty system it's currently convoluted as fluff & it's pissing everyone off. 3. Overpriced Gacha. Seriously $4 per pull? I thought FGO and Hoyoverse were the greedy ones. This is on another level. 4. Lack of knowledge of the mechanics of their OWN Character classes? Really...YOU people created the character class but have no idea how it works?! rewards at the end of the stream were 'utter useless garbage disposable items" (Dude even HoYoverse offers Pull currency and those guys are stringent with everything) This is just pathetically greedy. 5. Unnecessary Early Class Nerfs to a PvE focused game, instead of a rebalance of the enemy mechanics. Lesson here is just play the game FULL F2p once it hits Global and don't dump ANY money into the gacha because this is worse than Almost Every WEAPON GACHA's which are ALWAYS a Scam COMBINED. I think Casino's are more fair than their system. like wtf?!
To think they would have a pity system but not the 100% one and it goes as far as 110pull... I find this very funny in a sad way, is already very bad with 100 pulls but lets add an extra 10 just to make sure you're screwed
@@kyarumomochi5146 hsr is almost exactly the same in terms of how it gives pulling currency (in terms of amount, of course) and its gacha mechanics (with slight change to how weapons/light cones gacha works, but its still very similar) to genshin, tho, and i play both. the only substantial difference is 300 rolls to chose 1 5* character and a guaranteed 5* in 50 starter rolls - but these wont matter in a long run tho once more characters gonna come out. on the live chat from the livestream, the chat was pretty much fed up with the devs. they said something like "....", "please help", "just stop it", "please stop this abomination", "just stop this livestream", "the atmosphere is bad", "you just pretend to understand (it was in japanese slang)" or "just call someone else". the livestream reminds me with tof very first japanese livestream, it was "bad" because the bug happened in game there but nothing else was bad. but this is just another level where devs don't even know what happen to their game. kinda the opposite to current state of tof now, while tof now feels lively again after server merge (filled with japanese and sea players in asia server), bp seems struggling while people in japan drop the game and high profile jp streamers that i usually watch drop the game after a week playing. it worse that while tof now back to the map after server merging filled with sea players in asia server, bp picked ag to publish their game and exclude sea. worse, they region lock it
@@kasmichan W/e amazon picks a game, it automatically kills any interest i could have on it since it will be followed by lies, censorship and more lies...
To be honest, kinda saw this coming since it's a Bandai Namco property (and not just simply published by them (FromSoft games)). Lots of Bandai Namco live service games have gone under and been severely mismanaged. The only thing that gave Blue Protocol a chance was that it "seemed" a bit more than a cash grab. But just because it may not have been intended to be a cash grab, doesn't mean the publishers all of a sudden known how to manage a game and a community.

This is just...bad. The monetization is extremely predatory, nerfs right out of the gate (go ask Blizzard how that's going for them and Diablo 4), and developers that seem completely clueless to what's going on in their own game...Makes me wonder if the dev we were watching during the Blitz Lancer "gameplay" stripped his character a bit beforehand just to distract us from how awful this demonstration was. Like...what's happening here? How do you mess up something so surefire? Blue Protocol was one of the most hyped games for *years*. People waited all this time for it to be released, and now that it has, it sounds as if everyone developing it is doing their best to nosedive it into the ground. With Amazon heavily censoring the global release and the original version being hilariously mishandled by its own devteam, I officially have lost hope for this game. And this is coming from someone who wanted this to be their next main mmo.
Agreed, this game had so much promises to be great. It's ironic, I thought Amazon would be the death sentence with this game. But turns out, the jp devs had been the bane of blue protocol issues since day one. Thankfully, it's 2023, we got a ton of solid games still coming out. Not hard for me moving on but still sucks to see this game fumble.
What was it about it that proved so surefire? People lost their shit purely because it was an "anime mmo", it had nothing new, original or genre defining. I have tried almost every single mmo conceived since the golden years of mmorpgs. It's always the same song, unrealistic expectations from fans tied with poor dev management and possibly a lack of vision. Marketing ends up taking the reigns and everything else goes to hell.
@@0Charb No one said it had anything genre-defining. Some of the most popular games out right now are not genre-defining. It was "surefire" in that it already had a huge fanbase purely on hype alone and the audience for a game in this genre were excited for it. All they needed to do was release it competently and not make the current missteps.
@@Moostar95 Agreed. It does suck that my excitement ended in disappointment but all this means is my free time that was going to be allocated to playing this is freed up for better pursuits.
@@soulechelon2643 What I'm trying to explain to you, is that unchecked hype can be volatile. It's a very basic mmo with an anime aesthetic, however youtube ccs and anime enthusiasts were blowing this out of proportions, because they were severely fantasizing about what an anime mmorpg "could really feel like". In reality, if you tried several earlier build iterations, outside of the beautiful anime coat of paint, everything else felt incredibly dated ( game design wise ). Now don't get me wrong, some people know exactly what they want from a game and if you're having fun, you're always winning. Long story short, this ip excited people because it was merely sailing under an anime flag and it makes you wonder, dream and fantasize until you take it out for a test drive and approach it with a more realistic footing.
As it is, BP is dead on arrival in the west. Amazon is already driving players away with their terrible censorship and the way the devs are handling the game will not help. The devs looking clueless is a really bad look.
Same thing that happened to lost ark, bad management from the publisher + bad core game design derivated from the original version causing burnout and moral loss

Games having problems is common but devs not passionate about their game is when we know we have to stop playing. Too many games have shut down because of the lack of interest from devs or them not hearing the community feedback and we players will sit there thinking why we invested in this game if it was gonna be short lived anyway. I always think about if the game is gonna last for a while before playing it. I actually was hyped about blue protocol and had decided to play it in the global version but i think i am gonna sit this one out.
The job "showcase" was both hilarious and embarrassing, it's obvious that the devs, or at least their project leaders had never played their own game, some side notes: 1. They played in a very up-close camera setting that any action gamer would avoid. 2. As the dungeon begin, they went straight into a rock and stuck there for a second, then stuck at the stairs for another second despite this is an early dungeon in the game. 3. While their teammates were pulling all the mobs together and aoeing, they decided to solo a mob and nearly got killed before someone came to help. 4. After that, they just ran after the team and played very passively using only ranged attacks as a MELEE DPS THAT BENEFITS FROM DODGING AND ENGAGING.
thats extactly the problem i think. the devs or the leaders just dont play the game by itself, they just get the responses and try to do the math on it, instead of testing it. also i think they dont get the time to play it. but yeah, thats what you get when you dont do it. its the same as me as software developer. if i dont get enough time to test it, its mostly shit.
The game is in trouble in its home region and once AGS finishes censoring everything to the point where you just see black censor boxes in game I promise you there will only be two of you playing BP in the west.
8:26 Sheesus. The developers' morale must've been shutdown to the extreme by that time. Seems like they weren't really prepared when this live-stream occured. Kinda crazy, that you'd do a stream update with nothing to show for, that's wild.
Damn...I recall hearing about BP here and there during Genshin's first year and recall some propping it up as a potential main rival for the game which as a player I was actually looking forward to. Not because I wanted to play BP per say (as soon as I found out it was multiplayer my personal interest dipped) but because I think competition is good and healthy. It encourages innovation and has the potential to temper anti-consumer practices in big, successful games like Genshin because of the potential to lose players to said competition. Unfortunately, it seems the closest (and I use the word loosely) to a Genshin rival we have now is their own new game bloody Honkai Star Rail.
I feel Genshin but probably more importantly, miHoYo has definitely lit a fire in the mobile gaming market. Very few people now are going to settle for PNG auto-battlers unless they are killer in some other department. Only problem is what makes Genshin is king is presentation. It's a F2P "mobile" game (really a PC game that can be played on mobile) that passes as a full retail price game. But since Genshin, there has been an uptick in open world or sandbox mobile games (Genshin wasn't the first) and there are definitely more games going for some sort of free form action. But as you alluded to, we are now waiting for the game to give Genshin a run for its money. Closest I think at the moment is either going to be Wuthering Waves, or possibly that Seven Deadly Sins game.
they kinda same in BP situation now as same as genshin when it has dead patch. the different is you can play it with other people and have bennefit of it, genshin didnt much really. also yea MHY really good for their presentation, making PV for each character they promote their character and update so well. that one positive thing dev nowdays need learn. the only minus thing for genshin is a hard content or fiture that able too keep old player with strong gear to do. abyss already a joke and HSR despite its already like 3-4 month i already beat MoC and as F2P too. so yea they lacking a challenge for old player since theyr market target is "how to add more new player"
@@GoodwillWright Unless WW really impacts Genshin sales, which is unlikely, I don't think HYV will care enough about its "competitors" to implement the changes you guys want (more innovation and less anti-consumer practices) since they already diversify their revenue enough to tank the hit. Hell, I imagine they even want games like WW to pop up since it means they can consolidate and hegemonize the player base to a certain degree by expatriating those pesky, vocal Complainers as well as the Hard Core players to the new game while leaving the silent casuals behind.
I'm feeling that it'll be like ToF again and I don't see any more reason to play it considering how stupid gacha is. I'd rather buy the featured item directly than spend to get random shit.
@@RandomPerson-ys9kx I was super excited a few months ago too. But since the global version isn't releasing soon and now I'm seeing this video, I think I'll just play a more chill game like HSR.
After so much waiting and hype, it's already very clear Blue Protocol will be another dumpster fire that will shut down in a year or two. No wonder it has gachas and battle passes, it's a cash grab.
@@Sammysapphira No, that is a part of balancing. If what I said wasn't clear, developers tend to balance thing according with what is worse, I'm saying they should balance things according with what is best/popular.
I agree with the methodology but I think it's just the wording that was a bit off. I think there should be an emphasis on buffing skills that are underused with why they are underused, if there was a boss with ice resistance you you wouldn't use the big popsicle every time LOL Or if there were actually cool interactions between the Abilities. The game right now skill choices really easy, just get the one that does the big boom. Now they just removed the big from the boom, now just going to use the other skill that does more damage, and then that one's going to get nerfed o r going to get buff that they just are going to do the same thing. There are more ways to buff a skill then "increase this potency"
@Chestyfriend I mean I already knew AGS would make it worse, not surprised in the slightest, but for the own publisher to ruin it surprises me the most
I'm confused how every game according to yall is bad? And how can ags ruin it by publishing it lmao? Do you not like their advertising or something? Because that's quite literally the only thing they're in charge of 😂
who remembers dragons dogma online? yep... thats bc they launched it only on japan and the game died on japan with no chance of seeing a worldwide release

im surprised the gacha costs so much and delivers so little considering japan is a market where pso2 is really strong. i guess because of NGS's lackluster reputation they feel they can get away with it at the moment. bummer
Lmao NGS somehow still going strong to (ima a current player). The motto on NGS is: Don’t ask questions and consume AC scratch tickets then get excited for MORE AC SCRATCH TICKETS. Bruh the latest update brought Dark Falz Solus that’s indeed challenging to players who are under powered but there’s no real incentive to do it as the rewards for beating it is trash. Hey Aether, thanks for sharing. I'm still wanting to play the game but gotta say I feel bummed out with the current state of the game, I hope they learn from those mistakes and still listen to feedback, this game has such a potential it would be sad if it's throw away.
Seems like marketing and monetization took priority in this stream. The devs have done very good and more complex streams in the past. Talking about gameplay and especially a new class should be first. Previous streams didn’t have devs all playing at the same time unless it was to show off group content but even still you need some commentary.
Blue Protocol is done for me. The reasons: 1. global version delayed for ONE year. NOBODY take care or notice in 2024 for this game anymore. 2. main reason for delay is the absolute god damned censorship due amazon games. i mean, wtf?! 3. one year delay and not even the fair chance to test in the beta. bans for the try to participate through VPN's. Holy cow... 4. after the desaster of New World (still no really endcontent LUL), LostArk... NO more games from amazon games. its money and time wasting in my opinion!
Why do developers never learn from their mistakes and especially in the MMO genre these mistakes are repeated over and over again. Are they all so ignorant? Why don't they make it simple: involve the players in the development from the beginning, create a good discord, have many discussions with the community, let the community play early alpha versions and take every feedback, only this way a good MMO can be created.
Japan is incredibly behind the times when it comes to game development, most of what they do tends to be archaic compared to western standards, especially when looking at community interaction and UI design.
In fact, a huge number of people will spend a conditional 5 dollars a month for a game that is really interesting, with a great story, elaborate mechanics, beautiful skins, stable servers, rich character customization, a wide range of interaction between characters and great lategame content. The only problem is that most developers realize that their game is bad and by positioning the game as F2P they can get more money. They don't think of their project as a game that will live for decades. It would seem that all you need to do to make a game successful is to make a good game that should meet the needs of a certain group of players. In this case, it is a MMORPG in the anime style. It is very difficult to find a huge number of changes after the beta test in 2020, which would dramatically affect the diversity of the game. No Guild house, no PvP (I realize not everyone needs it). There is no adequate open world, some pieces of locations are like stitched skin on Frankenstein's body. All that is in this game is stupid and merciless grinding for the sake of grinding. The only thing you can compare with other players is the number of points gained in the PVE arena and the suit that you got after spending $500 on gacha. Giving people 4 active skills, 2 ultimates and 2 Imajin slots after some of the players have played Kritika Online or Dragon Nest where you have two 10-skill panels and have to play like a piano to get the most out of your character is very frustrating to say the least. Why do you do a bunch of network tests, and at the end of the day people are not able to enter the game. Why haven't you done any actual game development for three years in any way. My expectations were not met, but that's just my problem. F2P projects bring good money, but a game that did badly will only bring reputational losses. I pray that Bandai will make at least 8 active skills besides ultimates and Imajins, a full-fledged open world, because these loadings between locations are uncomfortable. Well, so that they finally make at least some content for the Guild so that it finally makes sense. I'd love to see PVP, but that's unlikely to happen. And of course, transfer the game to the P2P model. In its current state, the game will die after two years.
Kind of a different example, but there's a private server for an old MMORPG called Dragon Nest which I have been playing for a while. They have monetization in the form of donations which give you ingame premium currency, and you can also get the currency ingame via the Auction House. No P2W either. A whole outfit set costs around 5$ USD, and mounts cost around 3$. There's some gacha boxes but those are optional and only contain some extra cosmetics like wings, mounts and other stuff. Each box costs 50 cents. I'm more than happy to throw around 30$ each month because I like how they've handled things and I feel like I'm getting a really good deal. With BP however, there's no way in hell I'm spending even a cent with how expensive everything is. Then you consider AGS censoring crap and this whole game is a complete pass in my book.
They know 5 dollars aint going to cover half of the needs that you mentioned so they dont bother. Face it, Amazon just need to stick with their main company, stop making films and Games, its going to be dogshit since the devs would be paid way less than normal devs.
Of course I don't take any enjoyment in seeing the game I waited 4+ years for slowly whether and die. Though to say that this isn't a divine act of karma would be unjust. Reap what you sow -
very clear at this point that these people aren't passionate developers, or, developers at all. they're front men sent out by a company that just wants to make some quick cash.
Sad. For anyone that knows Scamco, this was the fear, of huge monetization and EoS whale farming, being hidden with beautiful veneer of anime MMO. RIP.

nah. its dead on arrival. this is, literally, the epitome of everything wrong with online gaming, wrapped up into one. the only thing of value here about this game is the visuals look nice and the world building seems interesting. they have failed in every single metric imaginable, committed every game dev sin you can think of from microtransactions, battle pass, gacha, censorship, removing content from certain players/regions, the list goes on and on not to mention the glaring gameplay issues and lack of good communication and support. i know everyone has been desperately clinging onto this game because they so badly want the next big great anime mmorpg and they were really hoping this one would be it, but its time to move on, and stop while you are ahead. dont waste any more time on this, find a game that respects you, your time, and your wallet because this ISNT that game.
dont forget how the Amazon Games realease will be even worse, lmao fucking pathetic i am never touching anything AGS has anything to do with with a 10ft pole
I been following this game for a long time, but the lack of content really got to me. Having played games like WoW in its heyday, this sadly does not have a hook that entices me.
i wholly agree with you they need to focus on making jobs more interesting to play, and the gameplay loop needs sprucing, not to mention they need to greatly consider redoing their monetization i understand the game is a free live service an that the company is not a charity case but they need to allow players to be able to buy stuff from the get go and if its impossible to remove gasha then a the least they need to boost drop rates for wanted/sought after items by increasing the chances of receiving pity from bad rng like give players at the very least 1 item of their choosing after 6 or so pulls an completely remove the useless consumable items and keep in stuff like the crafting tickets, and character changing tickets, hell even adding in the GC currency as a drop would be great so that people can obtain more of the free stuff etc. further more on the free stuff they need to add more items to it to entice players to return an keep playing if the player feels rewarded for playing their game they will keep coming back for more while this particuliar stream seemed less prepared this could be due to a management issue and less so a developer one an perhaps their lack of foresight could be due to working over much hence why they forgot things about the blitz lancer lack of sleep would do that to ya make your head all fuzzy not saying thats an excuse ofc but lets just hope they listen to their players' concerns and that in the next stream they do things are more polished and more hyped up.
The first mistake JP player had was hype the game ignoring the Shitshow Bandai Namco did since 2016. I've seen this all miles away especialy Bandai cater to "modern" audience announcement. In serious note this game need to...put it back on Beta till the game actualy feels complete development. Edit : hoooly moly yeah they need pull out the game from the market back to beta testing or even revamp their combat mechanic when the dev themself barely play the game.
7:10 Did they check PSO2 for this? PSO2 does the exact same thing, where in its Mission(Season) Pass, half the time the outfits they give out are reskins of old boring outfits in camouflage pattern, just like this one.
I stopped caring all together once the first leak that the global version was going to be censored and they would region lock japan. The main draw for these type of games to me is the cute girls and if i cant enjoy that ill play something better
thx for the video and explaining what happened. wow. so many red flags. I think the ones that are speaking/doing the live stream aren't the ones that developed the class so they have no idea what's going on. They really should have the person who developed it speak or prep the streamers though. This made them look very incompetent.
Bro how hard is it to make a proper anime MMO aimed at otakus? All they have to do is cater to target audience, there are tens of millions weebs in the world. This is the easiest slam dunk ever, in my opinion.
I'm genuinely impressed. They managed to have a worse launch than pso 2 NGS. Doesn't help that pso2 ngs is on the upswing with their actual new content now.
Class Balance and other aspects of development are different teams. Great job explaining the dev stream. Combat is the make or break for me. Skills should be impactful and it should be a challenge to pick which you want, not just clear winners.
Bandai!! What are you doing?!?!! Man I've been waiting for this game for so many years for them to pull this stunt off. I'm terrified now and now I'll honestly be looking at this game differently, yet sad because I truly though it would be the ne MMO me and my friends will be able to sink hours into.
I have been following this game since one his first trailers a lot of years ago and I was superhype for this new MMO, but now looking at the state of the game in HIS MAIN REGION is hearthbreaking. Why devs never talk to the players, sometimes is super easy to hear the community and make them happy but nowdays its just put gacha system and make money before shutdown the servers.
Even freaking pso2 ngs lead in their lowest point genuinely say in a live stream that they are sorry and know they f up and showing giving input questionnaire and actually show the real results on stream. Even with how it's a steaming pile.
ironically BP supposed to be "global" yet...region locked some of the countries in SEA, which most of them was hoping to play it and probably sent money too. already killed off the hype for me.
Perhaps being delayed so it could be immediately patched on global was a good thing, I still dislike the censorship though. For Blitz Lancer role... well it should be something like a speed type glass cannon sine it does says Blitz, perhaps a higher riskier than the strider.
Alot of Jap devs dont know how to gauge a genre. I don't think these guys have MMORPG experience. Bandai Namco isn't known for having MMORPG experience either.
Funny, things like these just happen to D4 also recently. Seems like slashing their own throat by posting the dev (bad) gameplay and lack of understanding of their own game is the new fad. Edit: I'm starting to think that it might be intentional, like the dev saying a hidden message "guys better quit now, the investors and marketing are planning bad things"
"Nerfed because used the most" This has been the issue with every game I've seen something nerfed in and I've hated that mentality of devs ever since. It's like they are robots, they don't realize that players just "have fun" with some skills not because they are "op" excuse me let us have this "fun" which you are supposed to have in a game please.
People were wondering why no devs do the same thing as YoshiP and FF14. This is why. Bad devs live stream can backfire really badly because most devs are really bad at PR.
The new class incident is a huge red flag for me. How the fuck do you have 3 "devs" play a new class for 10mins in a dungeon instead of idk opening up the skill window and going over every skill/passive for 10+ mins instead? Not to mention to have a Q&A about the class where once again they didn't open the dam skill window!
Well to play “developer advocate” they did a previous livestream showcasing the abilities and how the blitzlancer works…..they were just showing it in action. I didn’t need the dialogue because they explained it before. Could they have explained during? Sure…but it’s not like they never did
Looks like Zenless Zone Zero is the only hope for the next big eastern game... shame it's coming from the same dev who made the last one (genshin) but after Tower of Fantasy & now Blue Protocol it becomes more and more apparent everyday that nobody else will be capable
This is new norm now. >Game gets super hyped, players jump on this train and brag how it will change. >Influencers and content creators get involved to build hype. >Game gets launched and it’s an absolute disaster. Now comes option paths; 1. The devs take years to fix the game and bring it it’s glory. (Cyberpunk, No Man sky etc) 2. Stays dead (that other Amazon game)
Well both nms and Cyberpunk did make an amazing comeback. Tough mmo market is different and you can't take too much time because you never know wich korean mmo will steal you playerbase this time xd
Bandai have to find a way to turn this game around and make it great. It has SO much potential and theyre squandering this opportunity to capitalize on a market that is hungry for an MMO with this aesthetic. Great ingredients, but poor execution can make any dish taste like shit.
My thought too. This has the potential to be the best anime gaming experience ever. In addition, people have to calm down as well, as it’s only month 3 of the game. They have a roadmap of everything planned out. Aside from polishing, balancing, and optimizing. The content people are waiting for will come. MMORPGS never have a whole bunch of content at the beginning stage. They’ve even said in an interview that they were conflicted about having too much content to overwhelm players and also not wanting to have barely any content for players
@@camfreed9829 I agree. It's only the third month and as such they do have time to improve this significantly. However, my concern is that Bandai will not see the profits they were expecting and cut the project short while they're ahead, instead of taking a loss while they improve. Alternatively, they chuck a FFXIV close it and re open after some major improvements. I truly want this game to succeed but in my heart I know in it's current form, although "casually fun" isn't going to retain enough people in the long term.
@@camfreed9829 The first 3 months are the most important for any online game since they always have a playerbase dip from curious players, if they start bleeding the passionate and hardcores too that's when they die.
maybe amazon had a hunch bp would suck and maybe thats why they delay the release for absolutely no fking reason at first (im jk amazon is just as shit)
This was the huge catalyst on why Blue Protocol sealed its fate. Japanese saw that even the game director doesn't know how to play the game he's directing, doesn't know how the new class works. It showed huge red flag and pushed Japanese into quitting the game. It became death spiral since that lviestream.
Unironically true. They managed to have worse start than even pso2 NGS Doesn't help BP that pso2 ngs is finally got new content. And I think the content density is enough to recommend pso2 ngs to others
My friend jumps on games like this and PSO and suck them off while riding the hype train. I always ignore him and never follow these games and im glad to always be reinforced my opinion is spot on. The last 4 games he latched on to exploded right into the trash bin.
Imagine getting Hyped for a game then you feel weak in a class you choose, you get bombarded by insane prices and Gatchas, also developers gifts you codes that gives you useless items. Yeah it’s looking bad.
Well there goes any hope I had for the game, I can see exactly where this is going and I want no part of it(prob won't even have a choice in that matter lol). I'll just go back to playing BDO & FFXI. I really hope the game does succeed and doesn't get shut down. Devs need to get their sheit together instead of worrying about how to get people spending money. If you make a good game, people will more than likely spend money on the game.
@@darianstarfrog Yes, people can be hopeful regardless of the situation. What did you truly expect for localization to the West/Global? Yeah sure, for them to just translate the game, and release it. Which is fair, but given the track record of games being ported over to "Global"/Western audiences(especially nowadays) it was a given. Instead of worrying about Censorship bs, worry about how they're gonna adjust the Gasha system instead because as it stands in its current state with JP, it's absolute dogwater. That should be #1 priority. Censorship sucks, yes. But there are far bigger issues to worry about with the Global release of the game than that. Regardless, idc about the game anymore as I've said above. The devs clearly only care about getting people to dump money into their game. Which is expected of a developer to want that, but these guys are hyperfocused on that alone and don't care about the rest of the game. We've all been fooled into believing this was gonna be a good game with developers that care about it and the community, I'll not allow them to fool me again by taking my attention elsewhere.

Amazon already did that..
They seen to be taking lesson from the used to be popular japan mmo PSO2, but that game is falling HARD right now and they choose the follow the failing path that game is going.

It doesn't help that genshin's huge update is literally on the same day as blue protocol's, and genshin's update comes earlier.
summer event wouldd prrobably be okay if they release the skins for free.
and add more rewards like GC
I knew it’s going to flop quickly when I see it got the same vibe as pso2 ngs, farming the same thing over and over, event or no event
funny thing is tof was advertised as shared open world is more mmo than BP where "known" as mmo
So this game is dead ? Cant improve ?
I guess now we know why, because they had nothing to show for it, and still don't
are you going to switch too jap server instead then? if you are I follow you on that lol
why are you worried? are you commited to it? did you fund it with a high percentage of your income/savings? doubt it, so stop spouting random words to receive attention, dog
I have a strong feeling that whatever team is publishing BP from AGS is entirely different from Lost Ark. Because Lost Ark recently has been managed well and is getting it's best ever patch. How the hell is AGS doing so poorly for BP and the game is not even out yet for global lol.

(listed all 5 points)

Weird that you attack HOYOVEREi istead of genshin dev team

@@kyarumomochi5146 hsr is almost exactly the same in terms of how it gives pulling currency (in terms of amount, of course) and its gacha mechanics (with slight change to how weapons/light cones gacha works, but its still very similar) to genshin, tho, and i play both. the only substantial difference is 300 rolls to chose 1 5* character and a guaranteed 5* in 50 starter rolls - but these wont matter in a long run tho once more characters gonna come out. It's as if you dont know what you're talking about. Also - HI3 is generous? Lol, lmao even. That game is VERY stingy with its currency, and th freebies arent even that good most of the time. Tho frankly, it will never trump the stinginess that is FGO, but still. It's not the best example of generosity.
Nice, wasn't keeping up with coverage on the game.
on the live chat from the livestream, the chat was pretty much fed up with the devs. they said something like "....", "please help", "just stop it", "please stop this abomination", "just stop this livestream", "the atmosphere is bad", "you just pretend to understand (it was in japanese slang)" or "just call someone else".
the livestream reminds me with tof very first japanese livestream, it was "bad" because the bug happened in game there but nothing else was bad. but this is just another level where devs don't even know what happen to their game. kinda the opposite to current state of tof now, while tof now feels lively again after server merge (filled with japanese and sea players in asia server), bp seems struggling while people in japan drop the game and high profile jp streamers that i usually watch drop the game after a week playing. it worse that while tof now back to the map after server merging filled with sea players in asia server, bp picked ag to publish their game and exclude sea. worse, they region lock it

The job "showcase" was both hilarious and embarrassing, it's obvious that the devs, or at least their project leaders had never played their own game, some side notes:

Sheesus.
I don't see how BP is a Genshin rival, they're different genres
they kinda same in BP situation now as same as genshin when it has dead patch. the different is you can play it with other people and have bennefit of it, genshin didnt much really. also yea MHY really good for their presentation, making PV for each character they promote their character and update so well. that one positive thing dev nowdays need learn. the only minus thing for genshin is a hard content or fiture that able too keep old player with strong gear to do. abyss already a joke and HSR despite its already like 3-4 month i already beat MoC and as F2P too. so yea they lacking a challenge for old player since theyr market target is "how to add more new player"
True. Regardless of what you play whether it's GI or HSR, your money will still just end up in Mihoyo's coffers 😅
@@GoodwillWright Unless WW really impacts Genshin sales, which is unlikely, I don't think HYV will care enough about its "competitors" to implement the changes you guys want (more innovation and less anti-consumer practices) since they already diversify their revenue enough to tank the hit. That's not how balancing works.
@@Sammysapphira No, that is a part of balancing. If what I said wasn't clear, developers tend to balance thing according with what is worse, I'm saying they should balance things according with what is best/popular.
I agree with the methodology but I think it's just the wording that was a bit off.
I think there should be an emphasis on buffing skills that are underused with why they are underused, if there was a boss with ice resistance you you wouldn't use the big popsicle every time LOL
Or if there were actually cool interactions between the Abilities.
What are the chances Amazon will make this game better? I think it's around 1 in 1 million.
wait, ppl were actually expecting anything else other than "milking to the max before shutting down" from Bandai? rly?
Dem. Theres gacha? I thought there was a "no cash shop" promise in the past?
Never thought I'd see a game that wasn't ruined by AGS, but from the own publishers themselves
It's ruined by both. Don't worry, AGS has already made it worse.
@Chestyfriend I mean I already knew AGS would make it worse, not surprised in the slightest, but for the own publisher to ruin it surprises me the most
U mean devs?
I'm confused how every game according to yall is bad? And how can ags ruin it by publishing it lmao? Do you not like their advertising or something? Because that's quite literally the only thing they're in charge of 😂
@@propersod2390 You haven't been keeping up with the news then.
who remembers dragons dogma online? yep... thats bc they launched it only on japan and the game died on japan with no chance of seeing a worldwide release
I take it they won't be banning global players (VPN) now since they'll be desperate?
If there is any global player at this rate 😂
I have been playing with a vpn for 2 weeks so far seems like they need the players lol
It's funny to me even to this day of how people are being more chill to play or even pay for unfinished products.
I thought that Amazon was the one who were ruining the game for people in NA but...I didn't know how badly the game was doing over Japan, yikes. I already had lost any interest in the game after knowing about the censorship for NA but now watching this video and reading a bit more about all the flaws in the game over JP and the incompetence of the devteam...wew.
Dev gave Amazon 100% control including changing the game contents was already a red flag.
The crazy sad part about Gundam Evolution. It's a better game than Overwatch 2 and casuals are ruining the industry.
I didn't watch the stream, but saw that it had a lot of dislikes. Guess that was not just disgruntled global players for once.
the chat was also trashing the livestream too. they seemed fed up and asked to end the livestream, some even coped with saying "this isn't official livestream" lmao
im surprised the gacha costs so much and delivers so little considering japan is a market where pso2 is really strong. i guess because of NGS's lackluster reputation they feel they can get away with it at the moment.
NGS is a game where you can be a whale with all the BIS gear / augments and still won’t have no reason to even use it. It’s all Just bragging rights
@@ThaGodLegacyHDI didn't do Solus yet. I saw a solo run. The fight is not as cool as I thought it would be. It just sits there waiting to get wailed on.

Good timing to with how BP is basically imploding
Hey Aether, thanks for sharing.
I'm still wanting to play the game but gotta say I feel bummed out with the current state of the game, I hope they learn from those mistakes and still listen to feedback, this game has such a potential it would be sad if it's throw away.
11:24 that's very common, in general BANDAI games have a certain amount of years to be played, then they close it and create another game with the IP
Seems like marketing and monetization took priority in this stream. The devs have done very good and more complex streams in the past. Talking about gameplay and especially a new class should be first. Previous streams didn’t have devs all playing at the same time unless it was to show off group content but even still you need some commentary.
"we cant talk about the class, but here's 10minutes of us playing the class" WTF??
I’ve been waiting for this project for maybe about 5 years now and I have no words….
Blue Protocol is done for me. The reasons:
1. global version delayed for ONE year.
Imagine that. All that hype for the game during the first trailer all those years ago is being thrown out in the trash. It's just sad man.
Damn they really are following Blizzard footsteps
Why do developers never learn from their mistakes and especially in the MMO genre these mistakes are repeated over and over again. Are they all so ignorant? Why don't they make it simple: involve the players in the development from the beginning, create a good discord, have many discussions with the community, let the community play early alpha versions and take every feedback, only this way a good MMO can be created.
Japan is incredibly behind the times when it comes to game development, most of what they do tends to be archaic compared to western standards, especially when looking at community interaction and UI design.
ARR is only what it is today precisely because YoshiP is an MMO junkie familiar with WoW that studied the genre to hell and back, a rarity nowadays.
coreborn does all these things sadly not a full fledge mmo but will be fun in +1 year prob
Aged well LOL
@@VaygrX gacha rly kills this game for me.
They know 5 dollars aint going to cover half of the needs that you mentioned so they dont bother. Face it, Amazon just need to stick with their main company, stop making films and Games, its going to be dogshit since the devs would be paid way less than normal devs.
Dragon nest was one of my favorite mmos, too bad it was ruined by p2w

Im server SEA btw, a bit know if amazon since a long time ago never touched sea server. 😅
nah. its dead on arrival. this is, literally, the epitome of everything wrong with online gaming, wrapped up into one. the only thing of value here about this game is the visuals look nice and the world building seems interesting. they have failed in every single metric imaginable, committed every game dev sin you can think of from microtransactions, battle pass, gacha, censorship, removing content from certain players/regions, the list goes on and on not to mention the glaring gameplay issues and lack of good communication and support. i know everyone has been desperately clinging onto this game because they so badly want the next big great anime mmorpg and they were really hoping this one would be it, but its time to move on, and stop while you are ahead. dont waste any more time on this, find a game that respects you, your time, and your wallet because this ISNT that game.
Exactly why I've quit playing F2P games like this. I'll only ever play complete 'buy once' games now. Armored Core 6 next on the list

Blue Protocol is a tool for getting people to spend money on gacha, the game itself is secondary
Pretty much PSO2:NGS, no EoS yet because of gacha shop spenders.
Sounds like most Korean f2p MMOs in the past lol
All gacha games are like that, money milking tool with flashy characters for weebs to spend their money on...
I been following this game for a long time, but the lack of content really got to me. Having played games like WoW in its heyday, this sadly does not have a hook that entices me.
i wholly agree with you they need to focus on making jobs more interesting to play, and the gameplay loop needs sprucing, not to mention they need to greatly consider redoing their monetization i understand the game is a free live service an that the company is not a charity case but they need to allow players to be able to buy stuff from the get go and if its impossible to remove gasha then a the least they need to boost drop rates for wanted/sought after items by increasing the chances of receiving pity from bad rng like give players at the very least 1 item of their choosing after 6 or so pulls an completely remove the useless consumable items and keep in stuff like the crafting tickets, and character changing tickets, hell even adding in the GC currency as a drop would be great so that people can obtain more of the free stuff etc.
further more on the free stuff they need to add more items to it to entice players to return an keep playing if the player feels rewarded for playing their game they will keep coming back for more
while this particuliar stream seemed less prepared this could be due to a management issue and less so a developer one an perhaps their lack of foresight could be due to working over much hence why they forgot things about the blitz lancer lack of sleep would do that to ya make your head all fuzzy not saying thats an excuse ofc but lets just hope they listen to their players' concerns and that in the next stream they do things are more polished and more hyped up.
The first mistake JP player had was hype the game ignoring the Shitshow Bandai Namco did since 2016. I've seen this all miles away especialy Bandai cater to "modern" audience announcement. In serious note this game need to...put it back on Beta till the game actualy feels complete development.
Edit : hoooly moly yeah they need pull out the game from the market back to beta testing or even revamp their combat mechanic when the dev themself barely play the game.
it's pretty obvious they were only there to shill the shop and gacha.
If an MMO lacks content, you can be DAMN SURE that it will never receive any in the future.
This is what I learned in the past decade.
This made them look very incompetent.
sadness and sorrow
Nice update video . Hope to see more soon . Thank you.
Bro how hard is it to make a proper anime MMO aimed at otakus? All they have to do is cater to target audience, there are tens of millions weebs in the world. This is the easiest slam dunk ever, in my opinion.
I need to save some money and I will create one cool MMORPG when I have a year of free time
because Weebs=Gacha, and gacha ruins everything.
Are there even good live service game created by Bandai anyway.
Damn, was the management team from Gundam Evolution in charge of blue protocol too? Im suddenly not so sure about the future of this game, guys 😂😢
As if I wasn't already worried enough about AGS ruining the game, now Bamco themselves are beating AGS to the punch...
This game was always a red flag to me when Bandai could easily publish this game globally themselves but chose not to.....
Bandai!! What are you doing?!?!! Man I've been waiting for this game for so many years for them to pull this stunt off. I'm terrified now and now I'll honestly be looking at this game differently, yet sad because I truly though it would be the ne MMO me and my friends will be able to sink hours into.

ironically BP supposed to be "global" yet...region locked some of the countries in SEA, which most of them was hoping to play it and probably sent money too. already killed off the hype for me.
Perhaps being delayed so it could be immediately patched on global was a good thing, I still dislike the censorship though. For Blitz Lancer role... well it should be something like a speed type glass cannon sine it does says Blitz, perhaps a higher riskier than the strider.
Dats hopeful. The game is shit currently.
Please, i've been waiting for years to play this game, and yet
How are they fumbling the bag like this?
Alot of Jap devs dont know how to gauge a genre. I don't think these guys have MMORPG experience. Bandai Namco isn't known for having MMORPG experience either.
Funny, things like these just happen to D4 also recently.
Seems like slashing their own throat by posting the dev (bad) gameplay and lack of understanding of their own game is the new fad.
Edit:
I'm starting to think that it might be intentional, like the dev saying a hidden message "guys better quit now, the investors and marketing are planning bad things"
RIP Blue Protocol, The hype is gone for me cause of Amazon Games. Hope other enjoy it more when it comes out.
Not even amazon games that ruin it
@shutup1037 True that.
Does the game constantly animation stutter like seen on this video?? Cause that looks unplayable.
Sure…but it’s not like they never did
This is purely speculative, but what if the "developers" aren't the ones that developed and just took credit for someone else's work
Looks like Zenless Zone Zero is the only hope for the next big eastern game... shame it's coming from the same dev who made the last one (genshin) but after Tower of Fantasy & now Blue Protocol it becomes more and more apparent everyday that nobody else will be capable
Who thought showing 10 minutes of the new class without any explanation would be a good idea. Like literally.
This stream was horribly organized.
This is new norm now.
>Game gets super hyped, players jump on this train and brag how it will change. >Influencers and content creators get involved to build hype.
>Game gets launched and it’s an absolute disaster.
Now comes option paths;
1. The devs take years to fix the game and bring it it’s glory. (Cyberpunk, No Man sky etc)
2. Stays dead (that other Amazon game)
LOL 100% true

Tfw ToF with equally bad reputation in the community provides a better "MMO" experience than BP.
they should have done open beta. So many bug fixes that should've done before the full release. this is just a disaster specially their monetization.
This was the huge catalyst on why Blue Protocol sealed its fate. Japanese saw that even the game director doesn't know how to play the game he's directing, doesn't know how the new class works. It showed huge red flag and pushed Japanese into quitting the game. It became death spiral since that lviestream.
The class introduction makes pso2 new genesis look good
Unironically true. They managed to have worse start than even pso2 NGS
Doesn't help BP that pso2 ngs is finally got new content. And I think the content density is enough to recommend pso2 ngs to others
