@@larrypifer1103 I guess it depends on how one interprets your statement, Larry: "AJ plays guitar, ..piano, violin and flute". I didn't see the "ability to play" in that statement, so the average reader would assume that she actually "plays" those instruments now, when in fact she hasn't played the flute or violin in about 10 years. And I would guess that since she hasn't played them, her "ability" to do so would be very limited.
Elvis Presley owned Graceland (research that), and Angelina Jordan entered Graceland, uncovering the furniture, looking up at the elegant chandeliers, and singing Suspicious Minds in a reminiscent, melancholy way, as though she were still grieving the huge loss of Elvis, as we all still are. Again, she understands her audience, and can take our heartstrings and just twist them to a point of emotional entanglement around the words she sings. She is dressed for the era, and mostly carries that guitar to bring more authenticity to the song.
A beautiful cover by Angelina and a visually stunning video. Love all the homages to Elvis and Priscilla -- the blue suede shoes, the leather outfit, the red Hagstrom Viking guitar, Priscilla's beehive hairstyle, the beautiful old furniture which is reminiscent of Graceland. It's a perfect video.
When you played the original w Elvis, I just sat here, wishing it was over soon... ANGELina made me listen to the lyrics and feel the song❣ You are point on, as always... not many reactiors can keep me occupied for 30+mins, but you can, so kudos for that. Everything in this video is done with intention, from the Blue Suede Shoes, to her outfit, the guitar, to the pianist and his cherise suit. and the "BeeHive- hair do" like Priscilla Presley had when she met Elvis.
You wrote: "When you played the original w Elvis, I just sat here, wishing it was over soon... "I know how you feel, I had to fast-forward after the first 10 seconds. 🙂
@@LeNaInLoVe I am colourblind, yet I still recognized the trickery of light and shadow when she was on the settee.....Go to the original video, full screen. Click the settings icon and change the playback speed to .5 At about :21, just before she pulls off the sheet from the piano, what do you see on her feet?
Angelina is probably the most unique vocalist around today. She makes you understand a songs lyrics. She tells the story of every song. We are very fortunate to have an artist like her. She puts her stamp on every song. Remember she is 16 years old.
As always, Angelina makes each cover her own while honoring the artist. The leather outfit and the red guitar is similar to what Elvis used in his 68 TV Special. The hair is similar to Priscilla's beehive hairdo from the 60s.
I think that the red guitar she used here is THE guitar from Elvis' 1968 Comeback Special 🙂 It's owned by the man on the piano, artistic director of Angelina's record label Republic Records, Rob Christie. That's what I've heard anyway 🙂
@@poolhallsharkyes, it's a similar copy. The actual Hagstrom Viking II Elvis used was loaned to him for the '68 Special. I read the original sold for more than 600,000.

this is an EPIC performance from AJ! As soon as she let the first notes out I was shook! The symbolism is over the top! even with the little sister and nice portraying her own youth till now...just over the top!
I have no idea why my comment aren’t showing Up. The way you saw Elvis was clownish.Really check out his early love songs his deep low vibrato went straight to the heart. I have pretty much everything of Angelina’s songs. I wouldn’t call her voice powerful. Her voice is soft ,deep, delicate and mesmerising.
@@melyndamonea8734 I don't think this is a reply to MY comment...but it showed up here, The only thing I said that was out of place is that the girls in the video are cousins, not niece or sisters...
I love how Angelina comes in strong and uses the bridge as both and intro and outro. The arrangement, the slower tempo, the crystal clear piano play and her melancholic singing make me really listen to the story of love being destroyed by distrust and she makes me feel the sadness of is. Because it is a really a sad song about a toxic relationship with no way out. Elvis performance was masterful and he knew how to entertain the audience and to have fun on stage. It was and is fun to watch. What I do not really feel is in his performance is that he is distraught about being caught in a inescapable trap. I saw the Elvis movie. Is is beautiful and sad at the same time: he was really caught in an inescapable trap himself.
My interpretation of the symbolism of this music video: First, and foremost; Angelina Jordan at 16 is the epitome of a Storytelling ARTIST, and she has the ability to take us by the hand and lead us down an imaginary path that we visualize as reality. The remarkable fact is that we experience this in each of her performances. In this video we see her as a married woman in her mid to late 20s. As the video starts out, we see dishes, and it is a symbol of a home. As AJ sings the phrase “Were caught in a trap, I can’t walk out” we see 3 small children, this to me is a marriage where the children come first. If it were AJ by herself, she would not stay in a relation without trust. AJ adapts the performance to pay homage but then makes it her own and so much better than the original.
This performance of elvises is meant live for a vegas crowd which he entertains completely to petfection you can compare his studio version to this and pick your poison. But if I was going to a live performance in vegas like I have done I much prefer Elvis.I guess when I’m ready to go to sleep I’ll put aj on the playlist
Angelina showed her respect for Elvis by using one of the guitars he played in his " '68 Comeback Special", a black leather jumpsuit similar to the one he wore during that performance, and his wife's, Priscilla Presley, beehive hairstyle. And, of course, her more laid-back, Angelina interpretation of "Suspicious Minds".
G’day guys I’m a first time subscriber, and I’m watching you from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺 Elvis was a black belt 🥋 In Karate that’s the movements you’re seeing him perform on stage.!! Love you both take care stay safe.!! 👏♥️✌️🌎👋
He learned to sing in a black Pentecostal church. When they were filled with the spirit they sang using these motions. It wasn’t disrespectful, it shows letting the music take control of your body, soul and spirit!
Hey guys! Thank you for once again diving into your reaction. You guys just go so in-depth it's amazing the work you do. Angelina is my favorite singer of all time. Her voice touches my soul. She honors Elvis in this video, even has her hair like young Priscilla. Her leather outfit and red guitar is for Elvis.
Angelina never ceases to amaze me, at just how incredibly talented she is, and that she can take her voice to newer levels, we have never heard before.....there is something so special about her ability, to tell the songs story, allowing us to listen with a new perspective, and hear & feel emotions, we may not have heard from the original artist 💖💖💖 Not only her voice, but her delivery is also her gift!
Of course, as everyone has already said, Angelina is positively AMAZING. I would just like to add a little thing some may have not noticed. She is dressed in a black leather outfit that looks very reminiscent of Elvis’ look in his 1968 comeback special. But her hair is reminiscent of Priscilla Presley’s bouffant hairdo. The way she combined the two looks gives the song a new twist in meaning as it was often thought that the song was Elvis’ way of trying to apologize to Priscilla. A very subtle but impressive statement.
Yes I watched the Elvis movie and highly recommend it. Austin Butler deserves an oscar for his performance. I grew up listening to Elvis as my late father was a fan. We always listened to Blue Christmas over the holidays. What I especially loved about the movie was how the director brought in contemporary music and overlayed with the old... impressive! I don't know how I stumbled on your channel but so glad I did! I appreciated how you handled this... first learning about Elvis and then watching the video for Suspicious Minds to better understand before exploring Angelina Jordan's cover. I loved the piano at the beginning... it hinted at what was to come... I agree with what you shared and appreciate the respect she gives to the original and yet making it her own - a true artist! Thanks for this and I will definitely be exploring your channel and recommending it! Take care!!
Thank you, Jared, & Jordan, for your honest reaction to Angelina Jordan's cover of Elvis, Suspicious Mind. Now, maybe with this song, you may understand Angelina Jordan just a little better.
Good reaction guys. Love the deep dive. Right, it was obviously a tribute to Elvis, one of her mentors. Her black suit, red guitar, the piano players red suit were all part of his 1968 Comeback Special on TV. The chandlers and gold frames I believe represented his wealth and opulence for the time. And the mirrors reflected his handsomeness and always on sense of self, the pressure of living up to the hype of being the king. In many ways it was a sad life that ended sadly and far too early for the innovator that bridged many divides. His life also could serve as a warning to her to not let the hype overwhelm her. We should all hope and pray she remains well grounded and balanced. But as always, her focus remained on the true intent of the song in message and feeling. No one interprets, delivers, and elicits the intended passion and emotion of a song better than Angelina.
This genius lays bear the soul of a song......... For her, if you notice, the song is always paramount, and she, the singer, always always serves it to the audience, with her magical vocal paintbrush......
I get excited when you decide to reach to our Angelina Thanks! Angelina has matured and reached a new level of her art! She has taken Suspicious Minds and made it her new song! WOW!
Guys, this was just a stellar analysis as it is every time! You asked about the symbolism of the video. This is the general consensus. The antique store and Angelina taking the sheets off of the mirror and the furniture and the piano represent uncovering Elvis's vintage past. During the Elvis special which I believe was in 1969, he wore the black leather suit and boots, and had the red guitar as Angelina does. Angelina's beehive hairdo was the same type of hairdo that Elvis wife Priscilla had. The three young girls are Angelina's sister and two cousins and represent Angelina at different ages growing up. Angelina also used the vintage microphone. The pianist was Rob Christie, head of Republic records where Angelina is signed, and Mery Zamani is Angelina's grandmother who directed. You may have noticed that Angelina wore boots at the very beginning but once she started performing she was barefoot. There is also a scene with the camera pans down as it looks at the mirror with Angelina's reflection. As it pans to the bottom you see her bare feet in the bottom part of the mirror. I'm not sure if I've missed anything but I hope that helps.
You got it spot on, except two small items. Elvis' Comeback Special was in 1968, and Rob Christie is the Studio Director at Republic, not the head. The head (founder and CEO) is Monte Lipman.
@@johnbattles1002 thanks for the corrections. I couldn't decide whether the special was 1968 or 69 so I guessed. It didn't really change the gist of the message. Hopefully I still get an A for trying! 😁
Btw, Elvis is the all time biggest selling single artist, over 500 Million. That's also when most of his sales were from when people actually had to go to a store and buy his records.
Completely different song. Angelina's arrangement makes it more of a story or at least takes the story out of the core of Elvis version. Such a different feel. Absolutely beautiful.
Great job by the brothers J... you will come to realise more and more that words are not sufficient to describe this girl...the most amazing characteristic regarding Angelina is that she is the only artist that truly makes a song to become manifest. This girl is SOMETHING else.
… ELVIS and ANGELINA... my absolute favourites!! … What a great tribute to the King! Elvis would be honored and speechless 😮!! … I can't even describe how incredibly good these two are!!… Phenomenal!! ✨💎✨ 🕺🏻🎸🕯Thank you
Nostalgia. The 'second hand antiques' environment is nostalgic. Her hair duplicates the 70's era. Priscilla Presley wore her hair high and long much like Angelina's in the video. This rendition depicting such reminiscing, the guitar, the microphone, the old piano, wealth of chandeliers, her sways, her clothes, the children (memories)... absolutely brilliant! I was 8yo when Elvis came to Stockton, California. He performed at the Stockton Auditorium. I am now 72yo... he was a BIG deal! Movie star, Military, Performer... Records sold worldwide by the millions. His earlier years were very robust. Personally fueled by drugs to keep him up, and to keep him down (to rest). He was completely controlled by "The Colonel". Driven to suicide by ambitious money hungry greedy people, and could no longer perform as agile, he just wanted to STOP! So, he overdosed and died, age 42. He is now resting in Graceland TN, his home.
I've watched a few reactions to Ms. Jordan's cover of Suspicious Minds and I'm flummoxed by some of the comments as none have picked up on the fact that Angelina's physical features have finally caught up with her voice. Beautiful. Her voice has always been mature. It's phenomenal. Hearing those first notes gave me the same goose bumps as when I first saw her on AGT. Something to consider.
There’s no way I’m watching a 35 minute reaction video even if it is Angelina Jordan and Elvis. Edit: there’s no way I could stop watching this whole video. Amazing video guys!
Angelina has been a professional ever since she won Norway’s Got Talent! She has had an album and singles for sale on all platforms, her “It’s Magic” album is still in and out of the top 10 iTunes jazz chart, and she signed her contract with Republic Records 2 years ago, and she has already performed a song for a movie soundtrack. We are talking about a decade of performing as a professional! I know she’s only 16, but she still has been on the music scene for a decade, yes, her mother and extended family have protected her and insisted on her having a normal childhood, but there was no stopping that train from the time she won NGT!
Early in Elvis’s career, he was singing love songs and gospel with greater intention and feeling, with fewer gimmicks and silliness. His addictions changed him and his greatness was lost in that darkness. I really miss the early Elvis. Angelina Jordan’s version is achingly heartbreaking and captures the original meaning of the song.
Great video ! I always skipped you guys thinking you were fake, but damn loved the way you did research and watched elvis, it was all great, thank you.
"Depth" is the magic word. Everything about this video was spectacular, the set, Rob Christie on the keys and, of course, Angelina. She told us the story of the song like no other and that's what she does. The second time is better? The 3rd, 4th, and on and on it gets better and better each time. I don't know about you but I don't believe there is anyone like her or that there has never been anyone like her, ever. The depth and range of her voice combined with her soulful and a hint of jazz delivery makes her very unique but that's only half of it. When you heart gets touched by her because her soulfulness is so genuine and it transforms into a strong and yet sensitive voice, full of love, your heart cannot resist. When she sings and the song is over our comment is always, "Oh, it's over already?" With most great artists they have the ability to draw you in and entertain you to a degree where you really appreciate their efforts. Then the song is over. With Angelina, once the song is over it stays with the listener to a degree whereby they will never forget the song and will play it over and over and their reaction each time will be like it was the fist time they heard her sing the song.
😊 yay missed you both so much….. hi to your sister 😊woke up this morning what a pleasure to see you both again been waiting for awhile for you both to react to Angelina can’t wait for more…. You have a lot to catch up with there’s some amazing Concert videos of AJ thank you guys
My comments is simple, AJ a little girl prodigy doing her own rendition cover a legendary song, from one's of most musical icon in 20th century. I believe, Elvis has put up a smile at the heaven and finally found someone's able to pass down his legacy to a new era of music.
Great job, guys. Angelina takes it up a notch when on stage performing to a live audience. She just exudes confidence and charisma while still staying humble and appreciative....quite a unique combination.
This sounded like the real Elvis. His love songs, made him a heartthrob.you caught him at the end of his career. Go back and check him out . His beautiful deep vibrato made him every woman’s his.Angelina did him proud.I would never call Angelina’s voice powerful.I would call her songs delicate,elegant.mesmerising. A straight to the heart voice
Elvis Presley and his producer Felton Jarvis cleverly covered this *Mark James song from 1968 in 1969* ( ok, just his producer) , Elvis' last #1 hit in the US and #7 of his most successful songs. Felton Jarvis took the original arrangement completely and pushed the song with more speed and additional instruments (wind instruments, violin etc.) and a spectacular backing choir (in the studio version) and of course with Elvis Presley's voice. Pianist Rob Christie changed the musical arrangement and Angelina the vocal arrangement, but she didn't change the lyrics. Angelina changes the lyric structure, starting with the bridge and giving the song a different meaning. Once again many people don't hear and understand the song until when Angelina tells the story. 💯 *AJ* 💯👣
Angelina doesn't cover songs - she uncovers them and delivers their essence to heart. Wonderful!

That's the first time I understood the song the story of it.
U brought me such unbelievable nostalgia ❤️
Please do more Angelina reviews ? With your sister also!
Originally thought two was better than one. Then your sister joined you for a reaction. Now we know, three is better than two.
Wowza. So beautiful!
Absolutely need to watch her new cover of 'I have nothing' which soars to a new level!
AGREE....
the black and white studio version in this same location!
lena You're hallucinating if you think there are blue suede shoes in her video.
@@103mrg more like...these boots were made for walking...
@@103mrg OK.. hallcinating, strong use of word😂 maybe I'm colourblind🤔 and yes ofc also "these(blue suede) shoes were made for walking..... 😘
@@LeNaInLoVe I am colourblind, yet I still recognized the trickery of light and shadow when she was on the settee.....Go to the original video, full screen. Click the settings icon and change the playback speed to .5
At about :21, just before she pulls off the sheet from the piano, what do you see on her feet?
Only complaint is it didn't last long enough!! I wanted more of Angelina!🤩
Angelina is probably the most unique vocalist around today. She makes you understand a songs lyrics. She tells the story of every song. We are very fortunate to have an artist like her. She puts her stamp on every song. Remember she is 16 years old.
All that Elvis stuff in the background. Y'all showed the contrast, Elvis on stage, opposed to what was really going on in real life. She nailed it.
She brings this song to life and she does it without backup singers. what a phenomenal talent
She leaves me speechless....
That is the King!
@@darrowcelaya4310 Yes, I heard that, too. Sold to an Australian guy. But then I heard that it now belongs to Rob. I heard that it had been confirmed by Rob on his instgram account or smt like that. I haven't seen it myself though. Thanks for the feedback 👍
The beehive made me think of Amy Winehouse.
There is only one way for Angelina, she is climbing to the biggest star on the universe of music ..well reaction guys👍
Even as a child she had this sultry powerful beautiful voice.
Elvis was always just beautiful!! I grew up in his era! Elvis was loved.💞
this is an EPIC performance from AJ! As soon as she let the first notes out I was shook! The symbolism is over the top! even with the little sister and nice portraying her own youth till now...just over the top!
... cousins, not neices ...
Suspicious minds is my favorite Elvis song
Yessss, I wanted it to END when Elvis sang it… with AJ I want it to go on and on and on..💖 Thank you guys, so good😘
Yes, I wanted it to end. His LV shows and they were spectacles, are one thing but Angelina Jordan's cover shows the meaning behind the song.
She is so amazing ad beautiful. Her voice is just gorgeous 😍
Beautiful that's all
Exactly. Dominates the stage and always had control of the audience. The King 👑
lol amazing
She totally got the essence of the lyrics, absolutely stunning interpretation!
She takes every song that she sings to another level I’ve never heard any other artist do what she does she’s from another plant breathtaking!!
G’day guys I’m a first time subscriber, and I’m watching you from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺
Elvis was a black belt 🥋 In Karate that’s the movements you’re seeing him perform on stage.!!
She’s a fantastic story teller! Her power in her voice, so emotional. Thank you 👌🙏💫❤️
One of her best songs without a doubt, she uses harmony type of hum,she has arrived
I think Elvis would cry listening to this masterpiece.
WOW!
by Elvis you dont nknopw wone its end, by Angelina you whis it never end.
I'm really looking forward to this one, Jared & Jordan, because you guys always do a fantastic job.
He was a black belt and that's incorporated a lot
Her voice is hauntingly addictive. Can’t wait to hear more.
I'm not sure if I've missed anything but I hope that helps.
you nailed it......
Just one small correction, Angelinas grandmother was the executive producer, not the director.
@@ronraskind , you definitely get an A! Lol!
Angel Jordan!!!
Angelina is one of a kind! There is no other singer like her. I’ve followed her for a long time. I’m 77 and can’t get enough of her.❤️❤️
wow, are you kidding? her tone and beauty is fantastic. thank you. keep on giving us today's music, she is what we need.
More to come!
Angelina is number one in my top 10 her voice is like medication soothing relaxing warm summer day she’s the best Vocalist-in the whole wide world.
Gday boys👋….Great to see you reacting to our Angelina again🙏💜❤️……We all love your in-depth analysis of her amazing talent😄⚡️✨💥🌟
AJ has been a professional since she was 7 years old.
Beautiful-exquisite- excellent control & she is commanding the stage!

Angelina Jordan & only her
@@williamarmstrong9008 Yes 🍃💚🍃
Get ready for a real treat, making the song more meaningful.
He was the king of rock in America for 30 years!!
I just call him The King 🤟
I can't wait for you guys to react to her new cover of Whitney Houston I Have Nothing in studio you will be floored I promise you :)
She’s absolutely incredible! Angelic! I am overwhelmed by her beautiful and pure talent!❤️🙏😇🥰💕💕💕🎶🎵🎤
OMG.She brought chills and tears to my eyes right away. She does a great job with this song.
🎧 yes AJ always makes the song up ⬆️ to to a much higher level ☝️

This sounded like the real Elvis. His love songs, made him a heartthrob.you caught him at the end of his career. Go back and check him out . His beautiful deep vibrato made him every woman’s his.Angelina did him proud.I would never call Angelina’s voice powerful.I would call her songs delicate,elegant.mesmerising. A straight to the heart voice
Elvis was one of a kind and loved to joke around! He and Michael Jackson were two that will never be topped in the male singing of their Era
💯 *AJ* 💯👣
