Yeah! She’s something special, isn’t she? Pure Velvet Perfection! This vocal arrangement was all Angelina, I have no doubt in collaboration with a stellar team including Rob Christie & Mery Zamani her Grandmother. She is a Master Storyteller. The video is shot in the same Antique Store that she did 'My Funny Valentine' on Valentine’s Day. I believe it is in LA near her home. I believe the girls in the video represent Angelina's Journey from infancy to present through the classics of music history. Thus the Antique store, She grew up studying and performing these classics. Did you notice that right foot raise it''s heal to cradle the guitar a couple of times in the performance. I was waiting for her to throw in a little shake to it in homage to the King. Could that have been intentional? That is Rob Christie on piano. Sister Juliette and a couple of Uncle Michael's Babies. I think that makes them cousins not nieces. Full Black Leather Bodysuit, the guitar from his concert in 68 and the hair a homage to Priscilla Presley. Yeah! She can bring tears to your eyes. Epic. Incredible. There are no words. Epic! Wow, Wow, Wow! Could it be more Beautiful? ♥👣👸🏻🎷 Yeah she doing a Concert in Norway this month! Album to drop soon! So much to look forward to.♥👣👸🏻🎷
Welcome to Angelina in her native Norway. She did this festival almost every year from right after winning Norway's Got Talent at 8 yrs old till about 11. Great reaction. I am waiting for more reactors to jump on these new performances. I have heard after Allsang Pa Grensen held at Fredriksten which is a fortress in the city of Halden in Norway and where she did only two performances, she did about 17 songs in her performance at Kurbadhagen of which I have seen only about a half dozen including a new performance of 'Love On the Brain' and a couple of new Amy Winehouse songs. Can't wait for more to come out. ♥👣👸🏻 Check out this one.Angelina Jordan (16) «Tears dry on their own» live at Kurbadhagen 1th of July 2022 ua-cam.com/video/sjGkvd8htI0/v-deo.html Angelina really brings Amy back in this one. ♥👣👸🏻 or this one. Ken you are one of the few vocal coaches to be self-aware enough to even consider the possibility that you may talk too much. For that I applaud you. You also happen to be one of the most interesting in your observations.
Angelina is always singing without shoes, and the reason is nice story about....when Angelina was 6 years old, she met girl who didn't have shoes, she gave her own shoes and promise that she will be singing without shoes until every child in the world will have shoes.
That dude playing the piano is Rob Christie Republic Records Studio Director at Universal Music Group Manhattan Beach, California, and he has been working with AJ since she signed with the largest record company in the world at the age of 14, two years ago. Rob was the MC of AJ Christmas Show that aired Dec 23, of 21. AJ’s Christmas Show that live-streamed on Dec 23 of 21 had some of the most important musicians of our time: Frank Sinatra's drummer for 6 years, and sun in-law of the late Henry Mancini, Greg Field has won 9 Grammys, and the bass player, Chuck Berghofer who also played for Sinatra for 6 years, and toured with Barbara Streisand, accompanied AJ on her Christmas Show, and they stated that she had the "storytelling ability of the greats, Streisand, Fitzgerald, Vaughan, including Sinatra, to name a few. The main pianist, a five-time nominated for Grammys, Shelly Berg, stated in all his years working with the greatest vocalist, he had never encountered a talent like AJ. Did I forget to mention Jimmy Z, the famous Sax Player who worked with Rod Steward, Etta James, the Eurythmics, and Doctor Dre, was part of the band for the show? Jimmy stated that AJ was the best he has ever played for. Rob Christie Republic Records Studio Director at Universal Music Group Manhattan Beach, California played the guitar, and was the MC of the show. (I can't list the complete backgrounds on all the band members because it would take several pages to do them justice.) Angelina stated that she would rather perform than take a breath, and she has never been forced to perform, it has been her decision.
So it’s probably been said already but in case not.. Angelina sported the jump suit as an homage to Elvis’ leather jump suit on his comeback concert. The beehive hair is a homage to Pricilla’s beehive. The suit the piano player is wearing is the exact suit worn by the piano player at Elivis’ same concert. Also he is the President of Republic Records who has signed Angelina. The two young girls are her cousins and the older girl is her younger sister who. Is around 10 years old.
Fuck me sideways. That opening phrase was haunting as all hell, and while I'm not a huge Elvis fan I love this song in particular but damn if this isn't a definitively amazing version.
Classic Angelina. Taking an iconic song most singers would avoid and giving us a completely new way to understand it-while clearly paying tribute to the original version and to Elvis. Her voice has always been compelling, but now the depth and smokiness she can summon up fits so perfectly with those low registers where her musical soul seems to live. And her work now with Republic Records oozes class and nostalgia. Stunning performance visually, musically, vocally. And she can turn around on a dime to inhabit so many other genres as authentically as we saw here. If you’re inclined toward jazz, her recent cover of My Funny Valentine shows incredible vocal control paired with a voice and musicality that matches the greatest jazz singers of past eras. Or her jazzy cover of Billie Jean is Angelina ignoring any musical boundaries and giving a truly amazing cover that no other singer would ever attempt.
She’s a handful she sees music no way like we do it. She’s a musical genius. Proud of it. We all know that every time I see her she’s got a different voice to match the music. That’s why they call it a girl or 1000 voices.
It is the same antique store in Hollywood that she used for My Funny Valentine AJ plays guitar, keyboard/piano, violin and flute. Don’t forget she writes music and was the youngest author in Norway to publish a book. No loud band, no light show, no dancers, just two instruments to accompany the MAGIC that Angelina Jordan brings like no one else can. At 7 she was killing us, at 16 she is taking us places we have never been. What a glorious production, praise to everyone involved, so perfect for Angelina Jordan she rules the universe with her talent. Again, the great talent of Rob Christie playing the piano. The Cinemaphotography, a total MASTERPIECE, Excellent ART Cole McCarthy! Great touch, the cousins and sister get a cameo. Mery, you should be so proud, AJ's grandma produced this. (This red guitar is identical to the one Elvis played in his 1968 concert on TV.) Oh, the tears, and loss of breath, she is like no other in the universe. Here is a classic example of what this ethereal talent, Angelina Jordan, can achieve she takes a mundane song and turns it in to phenomenal classic. Angelina at 16 is the MASTER of her universe, she is top priority for both Stargate, and AJ's voice has been unique since she was 7 years old and now at 16, she controls us as an audience, leaving us hang on every word and phrase.
Ken, I had to smile when you made your point on Angelina’s abilities to show restraint in respect to the power of her voice. You then proceeded to get quiet and finish out the video just enjoying Angelina being Angelina. lol We watch you for the great insights you bring to your reactions however, your silence spoke volumes. Sometimes we sit and enjoy Angelina being Angelina
Mr. Lavigne, I've watched a few reactions to Ms. Jordan's cover of Suspicious Minds and I'm flummoxed by some of the comments. None of the reactors have picked up on the fact that Angelina's physical features have finally caught up with her voice. Beautiful. It's always been mature. Alway's been phenomenal. Hearing those first notes gave me the same goose bumps as when I first saw her on AGT. Only gets better. I've read this is her last NON-professional vid/cover. I'd pay to watch in person.
starland "her last NON-professional vid/cover" is ridiculous. It was written by someone whose first language in NOT English. She has been a professional since she was at least 8.
This arrangement was brilliantly written, and brilliantly performed. Elvis Presley was the most iconic figure in popular culture in the 20th century, and I feel that Angelina is the perfect artist to rekindle the magic that was Elvis. She breathes life into music like no one else, and where most artists try to speak through their art, Angelina lets the art speak through her.
At eighty I also watched him live, and though I was not a super fan of his. Angelina is the one. There has never been anyone like her, and probably never will be another. I am grateful that I lived long enough to have seen her beginnings, though I will not see the end of the story I am still blessed.
This was spectacular and possibly the best performance of her career thus far. That takes into consideration the vocals, the video, piano, and symbolism. I believe it surely is a taste of things to come. Your reaction was sincere and enjoyable, but please remember to elevate your support for aspiring young artists like Angelina that you appreciate, as it will create fan loyalty. Encourage fans to like, comment, and subscribe to links you provide for BOTH you and Angelina. Equal priority for both! This includes the original video as well as the official Channel and cover Channel. Young aspiring artists need and deserve your support for their algorithm and career. Thank you for all you do.
You can’t really see the color, but the boots are supposed to be Blue Suede! Also, the hairdo is supposed to reflect Elvis’s wife Priscilla’s 60’s beehive. No, she doesn’t wear it that way all the time! The setting is an antique shop in LA, also the setting for her previous drop, My Funny Valentine. Her grandmother produced this one, working her grandchildren into the video to represent Angelina growing up.
Diane They're not supposed to be blue suede. Go the original video, full screen. Under settings, change the playback speed to .5 At about :21, just before she pulls off the sheet from the piano, what do you see?
As a teenager in the late 60's I wore out a copy of The Long and Winding Road by The Beatles, if Angelina's track was on Vinyl it would also been worn out within three weeks as I seriously cannot stop listening to it, it is the most mesmerising vocals I have heard in 50 years! I love your professional reactions so much as well.
Once again, Angelina takes a song I have heard countless times and makes it feel like I am hearing for the first time. Angelina is my all time favorite singer storyteller. I encourage everyone to listen to all 170+ songs she has sung to experience them in a new, unique, beautifully emotional way.
Just as she did with the Queen song, Angelina has taken a song familiar to many and turned it on its head. An up-tempo rendition reimagined as a beautiful ballad.
I hope I can add something new. In less than 1 mo, Over 1 million UA-cam views since June 22, 2022❗️Her Beehive hairdo was an homage to Priscilla. Many photographs of her hair exactly like that. A Leather outfit he later wore. The guitar is the Elvis‘s 1968 “Comeback” Guitar! Rob Christe actually owns this. The two young children are her cousins, her Uncle Michael’s children, the older girl is her sister Juliette. She even had a framed photo of Elvis, at this location. Rob Christie on piano ok.🌺
I discovered her not that long ago myself but I have watched hundreds of videos multiple times because her voice is just it's a miracle it makes me feel good but I remember watching a video of her performance of Nancy Sinatra's bang bang in the semifinals of Norway's Got Talent and the judge was crying as he did each time she sang and he said to her you are amazing now and you are 8 years old in 10 years from now when you're 18 I can't even imagine what that will be like well this is what will be like cuz we're pretty close at 16 her voice has gotten a touch deeper and I think that at this point she knows her craft and her instrument inside outside backwards forwards so listen up everybody all the professionals say that the most important time in a child's life the time that determines how their adult life will go are the early years from birth to age and in particular 16 to 42 months. You have to have constant interaction with your child during that time cuz they soak up everything like a sponge everything talk to them read to them sing to them joke around with them make them laugh even peekaboo which everybody does and nobody has a reason for it you just do it you play peekaboo with a baby but what you don't realize is they are absorbing that and is teaching them what types of emotional reactions are appropriate in certain situations you think I'm kidding look it up but back to my point what was Angelina doing between 16 to 42 months? She was spent those days with her grandmother who was a huge jazz fan and a child prodigy herself in the field of Art she had an extensive collection of jazz albums and every day Angelina and her grandmother would pick a few albums play those albums and sing along talking about the things they liked the things they didn't just like that that's why we're not sitting here watching a kid who has an amazing voice and is copying the style of Billie holiday yeah she's copying all right she's copying the strongest parts and things she likes best from a singer after listening to their entire collection that's why on ngt everybody's blown away because you can literally hear a little bit of Billy a little bit of Nina some Nancy A Touch of Louis Armstrong she hadn't given us her little bit of screaming Jay Hawkins yet that would be 2 years later LOL so the moral of the story is start workingsaving up on your Jazz collection now
Elvis comeback special was in 1968. As for her hair… that took me back to that era when what we called low-rider chicks wore that hairdo. Their hair was teased with maybe a hair piece underneath. Hers looks like a hair piece. Hair in the 60s was all about height. As for her singing, I really like the restraint she used here, which made the song even more heartbreaking. She also used a breathy tone, which normally singers stay away from, to great effect.
What an amazing tribute to Elvis, ilove this song and Angelina has added so much more meaning to it. Elvis was called the King for a eason, i think Angelina will go on to become a Queen, one of a kind, like Elvis. 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊🌏
Her voice has become so rich and smooth, like a fine, full-bodied red wine with so many subtle flavors and nuances. And the production values and symbolisms just add to the magic of Angelina. This is a video I will savor for years and years to come.
Thank you, Ken. I clicked "like" at the first note, because your facial expression told me that you would like the performance. BTW, in case no one has pointed it out, the setting is an antique store that Angelina has used before in a video.
i saw her Sunday July10. from a distance of about 3m - she is all you said and more - when Angelina was younger she was not so good in talking - her thing is singing not talking but as she grews up at that concert July 10. she interact so gracefull - humble - adorable and professional with all of us - she will be the greatest Diva of all Times without the Bad attitutes we see in a lot of other Artists - just love and adore her and her vocals are beyond period - maybe you dont know it but Angelina is feeding poor and homeless people in LA - nobody would know unless some fan discovered her on a picture and had done some digging - other celebreties would certanly make this a story with professionell taping and put it to the press but not her - cheers from Germany
👑♥️🌹🌟angelina🌟🌹♥️👑 is for me the greatest artist ever, she is singing jazz since she is 2 years old and now this video and the concerts in norway, i love her love and soul so much in her voice and the control and technics are absolutly amazing , she brings the heaven on earth and is a rainbow, where is no rain 🥰🙏 ken i like your reaction about angelina, bring more songs to your followers, she have 172 covers and many own songs, blessings
Ken, if you want to truly experience what Angelina Jordan is capable of check out 18 full length song live. ua-cam.com/video/VkhcpiEqtgg/v-deo.html This is a link to a 1hr and 10min recording of one of the 3 concerts AJ put on in Norway, and the sound is superb, her voice is not drowned out by the music. There 18 complete songs, and this will show she does not need auto tune, her vocals and total presents on stage will blow you away. When you open the video scroll down the first part of the page and select more, that gives you the ability to hear any one of the 18 songs. The sound is so good, it is just like being in the audience.
The song was written by Mark James. In the Wikipedia entry of the origins of the song, he is said to have remarked "That late one night, he was fooling around on his Fender guitar and using his Hammond organ pedals for a bass line and came up with what he thought was a catchy melody. At the time, he was married to his first wife but still had feelings for his childhood sweetheart, who was married back in Houston. James's wife had suspicions about his feelings. He felt it was a confusing time for him and that all three were "caught in this trap that they could not walk out of." Other singers covering this song invariably base their performance on that of Elvis, in that it is very "upbeat". Angelina took a very different path in that she read and understood the lyrics and what Mark James intended when writing them . To my mind, her rendition is much truer to the emotions of the song. The children appearing in the video were Angelina's cousins Aurora (first) and then Athena - daughters of her uncle Michael Astar, and then her sister Juliette. I would hazard a guess that they were included to emphasise that children are very important to Angelina and her family. Confession! I have never been a great fan of Elvis Presley, although I do like some of his earlier recordings, and I had never heard of the song "Suspicious minds" but knew that Angelina would completely take ownership of it, and she did. It was beautiful. After listening to it several times, I decided to download the lyrics to see whether she kept to the original structure. She didn't, and the song is all the better for it. For me, that she started with the Bridge of the song is very significant and, I feel, very indicative of Angelina's "up front" transparency. She was declaring that it was important that their love did not die, and then carries on to say why she feels as she does. Others first say how they feel and then, almost as an afterthought, assure their love they don't want it to end. For me, it is whether I feel the singer is genuine about the situation and wishes it could be resolved or whether the singer understands the situation but thinks the blame is on her/his partner but feels the need to assure them they don't want it to end (until somebody else comes along). I paste below the order in which Angelina sung the verses. "Suspicious minds" Angelina Jordan - lyrics rearranged. Oh let our love survive I'll dry the tears from your eyes Let's don't let a good thing die When honey, you know I've never lied to you We're caught in a trap I can't walk out Because I love you too much baby Why can't you see What you're doing to me When you don't believe a word I say? We can't go on together With suspicious minds And we can't build our dreams On suspicious minds So, if an old friend I know Stops by to say hello Would I still see suspicion in your eyes? Here we go again Asking where I've been You can't see these tears are real I'm crying (Yes, I'm crying) We can't go on together With suspicious minds And we can't build our dreams On suspicious minds Oh let our love survive I'll dry the tears from your eyes Let's don't let a good thing die When honey, you know I've never lied to you
Good to see you check this one out, Ken! Angelina took this Elvis song and changed it from the original upbeat tempo to a (IMO) more fitting style for the song. Angelina does this again and again with many classic songs. She is somehow able to hear something in songs that allow her to express the meaning to us in ways that allow us to understand them in new ways. I've seen her do it with so many songs, but it still amazes me every time. Angelina is so much more than a singer, she is a true artist.
@@daniellysohirka5079 I watched Elvis’ Las Vegas performance after seeing Angelina’s Suspicious Minds rendition. He certainly has an amazing voice and teaches a lesson about making a live performance fun for the performer. I was a bit discouraged by the disrespect for Mark James’ song when Elvis threw in the rhyme, “shove it up your nose” at about 0:55. In Hawaii he adds “not much” to “I’ll never lie to you” at about 1:55. Sure it is playful, just noticeably detracted from the overall performance for me.
With the first notes, I feel an enormous power. Like if she would try just a little bit harder, she could effortlessly overturn everything in front of her with her voice
Her musical instincts, foundational base & understanding of what she's singing aside from a brilliant voice are far superior to other vocalists performing today!
It was the 68' comeback special. It was the 73' satellite seen around the world, over a billion watched. The leathers and guitar are from the 68' show, Rob, the piano player, wore the jumpsuit that was worn by his back-up band. The Bee-hive was a nod to Priscilla, who wore that style Do at Elvis's insistence. Well that's all I'm allowed to say. Thanks for your insights.
That was a wonderful review/analysis Ken, enjoyed your expertise and comments on our young lady, who along with her Grandma Mery Zamani, producer and Grammy winner Rob Christie on piano (btw, the red jump suit he is wearing a tribute to what Elvis's band members wore in 68 comeback tour) he is also the director of Republic Records LA, they created a wonderful tribute to the King, by the Queen, Angelina. Should you want to hear Angelina unleash the "Kraken", and as mentioned in a comment below, then I suggest you view this video from her last concert in Norway. This recording was shot in 4K UHD by a fan so is excellent quality. Anyway, the note she unleashes near the end of her original song "Million Miles" was reportedly picked up by the International Space Station, here is the link: ua-cam.com/video/clH0PC4PEPQ/v-deo.html
Ken, you're at a loss for words? I would have loved for you to listen to the whole song and then come back and offer your in depth analysis. You have a gigantic following and congratulations on your success Angelina? No one like her, past or present.
It was the 1968 Comeback Special that she is symbolizing. Elvis released this song in 1969, and it was his last #1 hit. This is now my all time favorite music video---by Anyone. It is pure PERFECTION!!! Loved your reaction, Ken. 😊😊
I was in Norway last Sunday (2002-07-10th) to hear Angelina in concert ! She sang this song of course, yes her voice is more powerful than ever, great talent, great voice and incredible presence ! And what a beautiful young lady she is !!
I know this is late and don't know if anyone noticed, but there's a scene where Angelina is sitting on a couch..... She's wearing " Blue Suede" boots.....
Great reaction my friend ; ) yeah me to still in shock from her two concerts i was at, i guess most off us * Angel's * are still recovering from those events hehe Have a good one fellow Angel's , take care an stay safe ❤
The more you say, the more my ignorant mind receives confirmation that it is hearing a magnificently complex yet beautiful composition. I describe Angelina as painting emotions with the sounds of her voice. I want to see all the brush strokes more clearly.
You almost lost me trying to describe the beginning of the song. You may have as well have been trying to explain quantum mechanics to me. After a few months of knowing about and listening to Angelina, I realized my brain was working so hard trying to comprehend what I was hearing from a child (now I have to come to grips with the truth she is still only 16) it enabled me to just truly enjoy and appreciate what I’m hearing. She’s embraced her gift and sharing it with all of us.
Always enjoy your reactions to Angelina! If you really want to hear the "Kraken" of Angelina's voice, check out her performance of "Million Miles" at the July 10th concert in Norway. She lets out a belt near the end of the song that is spine chilling! It's reported that buildings tumbled and cars were overturned for blocks around.
jeff Mattias Axelsson has posted the best quality (audio and visual) recordings of the entire July 10th concert. Check out his playlist on YT.....This is her performance of Million Miles ua-cam.com/video/clH0PC4PEPQ/v-deo.html and the belt you refer to begins at about 4:40. What is also remarkable is if you watch the bassist. You wouldn't expect that kind of reaction from a seasoned musician who has worked with Angelina for at least 5 or 6 years!
Thanks for a fantastic reaction Ken. This performance by Angelina is just incredible. I love her interpretation of Elvis’ iconic hit. She brings out the true emotions that the lyrics imply. Look forward to your next reaction.
Angelina Jordan sings this cover very good its the best cover i hear so far ! Her voice is very very good ! Greatings and love from germany ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Absolutely what I expected. She made this her own song and she did it beautifully. I noticed Juliet sitting there she is going to be as beautiful as Angelina one day. Elvis' version is great and it always was, and it still is one of my favorites. but Angelina's version is equally great and is definitely her own. When I first heard this song I loved it and put it at #3 on my playlist (Angelina Jordan Playlist by Terry M.), about midday I moved it up to #1. The main thing that changed my mind was the power in her voice. I'm not talking about loudness I'm talking about the power she has regardless of how loud or soft she sings. This is a quality that I haven't heard from anyone in my 82 years. This voice has become so unique that it is totally unmatched. Her phrasing in the last bridge is great. And she got Elvis’s ‘Oh Yea’ at the end of the song. The pianist is Rob Christie (3 Grammys), he is the head of the Republic Record department that is responsible for Angelina and other singers. The two small kids are her uncle Mike's kids, and the older girl is Angelina's sister. 🙂
YES! Juliet is a beautiful young girl and is probably just as sweet as Angie. With all the love from her big sis, you know she's grown up to a beautiful person on the inside as well. I wonder what her talents are? May be not singing. I'd never force that expectation on a sibling. May be art like her grandmother? Or may be something else. Such an awesome family that keeps Angie grounded knowing she's safe who she is.
Fascinating analysis. First, you’re the only one I’ve heard mention that the piece of furniture unveiled is the King’s Throne. And Elvis was the king. Your description of how she sings is most insightful, and you actually describe how she creates her sounds in a way I’d never heard before. I also appreciate your interruptions because you then provide your mediate insight and analysis.
Angelina never ceases to amaze me, at just how incredibly talented she is, and that she can take her voice to newer levels, we have never heard before.....there is something so special about her ability, to tell the songs story, allowing us to listen with a new perspective, and hear & feel emotions, we may not have heard from the original artist 💖💖💖 Not only her voice, but her delivery is also her gift!
Been waiting for you to find Angelina again. She’s 16 now, and here voice has really matured. Since you didn’t recognize this set, I’m guessing you haven’t seen her 16 year old version of “My Funny Valentine” in the same shop. If I’m right, please watch and listen to probably the best version ever recorded. It was released 2/14/22
No way do you talk too much. I am here for your take. Thank you! AJ is insane. For reeeeal. 💯 hah I am listening to it again. I absolutely adore this song.
Her hair was part of the Elvis motif. Priscilla wore her hair in a “bee-hive”. I sometimes feel the kids are there to represent how children make things so complicated for adults in a relationship.
The Comeback Special was in 1968, not 1963; but yes, that was the black leather performance which also had the red Hagstrom guitar in it at some point. Good reaction and analysis! There is a lot of symbolism going on here in this video masterpiece! The hairdo (it's called "beehive") is reminiscent of Priscilla Presley's hair during the time of her wedding and marriage to Elvis (and multitudes of other women from that time who adopted it, as I recall as a boy).
She just sang 53 songs at three shows back in Norway last week . Theres tons of new stuff to react to. Maybe do a three-fer . Her adult voice is a juggernaut of sound and emotion

Ken you are one of the few vocal coaches to be self-aware enough to even consider the possibility that you may talk too much. For that I applaud you. You also happen to be one of the most interesting in your observations.
Such a soft version of this song. Lovely
Angelina is always singing without shoes, and the reason is nice story about....when Angelina was 6 years old, she met girl who didn't have shoes, she gave her own shoes and promise that she will be singing without shoes until every child in the world will have shoes.

A perfect cover with her own style.
The piano player is Rob Christie, Republic Records Studio Director. She signed with them this year. This is the 3rd video she's shot at this site.
Fuck me sideways. That opening phrase was haunting as all hell, and while I'm not a huge Elvis fan I love this song in particular but damn if this isn't a definitively amazing version.
Favourite cover of last year.....by anybody.
I swear when old music and singers died they gave everything to her to bring it back.
Right On / My Friend!!! Fantastic Thought Here / Thank You!!! 🕊 ❤︎ ⛲️ ❤︎ 🕊 DD.
A beautiful ,unique voice:)
Absolutely outstanding performance
She has amazing runs
Outstanding
Angelina is beyond her years, and is the best on the planet
What a beautiful tribute to the King, beautiful.
She’s a handful she sees music no way like we do it. She’s a musical genius. Proud of it. We all know that every time I see her she’s got a different voice to match the music. That’s why they call it a girl or 1000 voices.
It is the same antique store in Hollywood that she used for My Funny Valentine
AJ plays guitar, keyboard/piano, violin and flute.
AMAZING!
That piano player is a giant in the music industry. Two-time Grammy winner Rob Christie.
I’ve loved Angelina Jordan from her first performance at a really young age
She's a musical prodigy.
Thanks! That was an excellent reaction.
Excellent reaction to an Epic Performance, God Bless!
I am 69 y old and have never heard a singer like her in my whole life. She is on another level. Her voice touch my heart and clean my soul. ❤
This 66-year-old agrees!
72 and watched Elvis live on tv 1956. Angelina is second to none
At eighty I also watched him live, and though I was not a super fan of his. Angelina is the one. There has never been anyone like her, and probably never will be another. I am grateful that I lived long enough to have seen her beginnings, though I will not see the end of the story I am still blessed.
Yes yes yes!!!
Absolutely!!!!
I'm 69 also and I love that Angelina will be in the prime of her career for the rest of my life. What comforting thought.
Well said, she brings much a-life in so many. Besides, touching many hearts describing what the original intent of the song was in much more detail.
Thanks to the person who recommended this to you, and your reaction...
Angelina uses her powerful voice in the most beautiful ways I’ve ever heard.
Beautiful ❤️❤️
I think the nasal quality she puts into her voice here makes her sound like Elvis. The King has left the building, all hail The Queen! 😉
She has Priscilla's hair style, Elvis's comeback outfit and red guitar. She does her usual amazing job. What a voice.
Beautiful! I feel her voice. It goes deep into my soul. Wonderful!
Prodigy so hard to figure out and you can’t just sit back and listen and watch and be amazed
Once again, Angelina takes a song I have heard countless times and makes it feel like I am hearing for the first time. Angelina is my all time favorite singer storyteller. I encourage everyone to listen to all 170+ songs she has sung to experience them in a new, unique, beautifully emotional way.
The leather suit is "suspiciously" like one Elvis wore on the 60' 70's.
Just as she did with the Queen song, Angelina has taken a song familiar to many and turned it on its head. An up-tempo rendition reimagined as a beautiful ballad.
The Kraken gets released when she performs "I Have Nothing" in Norway.
'68 comeback. ;) loved this...love her!
She will change the world
Yes !!!!@@rickettelman2952
The hair was modeled after Priscilla's hairdo. The bodysuit and guitar was Elvis' trademark
Thank you for a Wonderful reaction ! She’s absolutely amazing! Saw her live in Norway. So flawless!🥰👌💫❤️
I recommend her Adele covers. She takes Adele’s beautiful pop songs and gives them a soul, elevating them to a whole new level.
He felt it was a confusing time for him and that all three were "caught in this trap that they could not walk out of."
Other singers covering this song invariably base their performance on that of Elvis, in that it is very "upbeat".
Oh let our love survive
I'll dry the tears from your eyes
Let's don't let a good thing die
When honey, you know I've never lied to you
We're caught in a trap
I can't walk out
Because I love you too much baby
Why can't you see
What you're doing to me
When you don't believe a word I say?
We can't go on together
With suspicious minds
And we can't build our dreams
On suspicious minds
So, if an old friend I know
Stops by to say hello
Would I still see suspicion in your eyes?
Here we go again
Asking where I've been
You can't see these tears are real
I'm crying
(Yes, I'm crying)
We can't go on together
With suspicious minds
And we can't build our dreams
On suspicious minds
Oh let our love survive
I'll dry the tears from your eyes
Let's don't let a good thing die
When honey, you know I've never lied to you
Good to see you check this one out, Ken!
She makes old familiar songs new and beautiful again. 😎
@@McDevittMike Like no one on the face of the earth can.
Um, guys…I believe that’s because she’s a musical genius.🤩G-d seems to provide them every once in a while.😂 7/19/22.
It's good in in it's own right right, but you can't beat the kings live performance.
I have to remind you that Elvis version also is a cover
Exactly, something that is consistently overlooked
Her musical instincts, foundational base & understanding of what she's singing aside from a brilliant voice are far superior to other vocalists performing today!
Everyone is at a loss for words when it comes to Angelina Jordan! We all just can't wait for the coming performances of this wonderful being.
Angelina 🌟⭐️🌟⭐️🌟
Man that first line gets me everytime, its so touching
Ken, you're at a loss for words? I would have loved for you to listen to the whole song and then come back and offer your in depth analysis. You have a gigantic following and congratulations on your success
Angelina? No one like her, past or present.
It was the 1968 Comeback Special that she is symbolizing. Elvis released this song in 1969, and it was his last #1 hit. This is now my all time favorite music video---by Anyone. It is pure PERFECTION!!! Loved your reaction, Ken. 😊😊
I was in Norway last Sunday (2002-07-10th) to hear Angelina in concert ! She sang this song of course, yes her voice is more powerful than ever, great talent, great voice and incredible presence ! And what a beautiful young lady she is !!
Greatest vocal performance of our time. She simply towers over everyone else. We are blessed
I know this is late and don't know if anyone noticed, but there's a scene where Angelina is sitting on a couch..... She's wearing " Blue Suede" boots.....
You're another one tricked by the light and shadows. She was wearing the same shiny silver ankle boots she had on when she walked into the store.
Her vocals, emotion and inflection of song is like hearing a voice singing from another realm into ours. Magical always.
Her voice just WOW!😲 God given I think. And no, you're not talking too much, I want to hear what you have to say! That is why I'm here🙂
Great reaction my friend ; ) yeah me to still in shock from her two concerts i was at, i guess most off us * Angel's * are still recovering from those events hehe Have a good one fellow Angel's , take care an stay safe ❤
Thanks Ken. Angelina always worth a listen.
LOL
H..ll yes i live in northern Norway and i heard it all the way here :-D :-D
Seismic recorders noticed a tremor too..
Shaken in my boots here in Alaska!
jeff Mattias Axelsson has posted the best quality (audio and visual) recordings of the entire July 10th concert.
Great comments, Ken. More AJ please!
Great comments Ken , A J is the Wow Wow Wow girl!!
Thanks for a fantastic reaction Ken. This performance by Angelina is just incredible. I love her interpretation of Elvis’ iconic hit. She brings out the true emotions that the lyrics imply. Look forward to your next reaction.
Angelina Jordan generation singer
Angelina Jordan sings this cover very good its the best cover i hear so far ! Her voice is very very good ! Greatings and love from germany ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
THAAANK YOOOOUUU…. I love your reactions. I’m such a loyal fan of this beautiful person Angelina.
and she just did ""These Boots Are Made For Walking" and did "Bang Bang" again .. homage to Nancy
Thanks for your insights
She has a lovely voice & puts so much emotion in every song.
Wow! Her voice is very impressive. Goosebumps! 😍💖👍
@@Nightfighter82 I have postulated that she could be an actress, following in the Judds footsteps. Wynona the singer and Ashley the actress.
Finally, someone that saw the interpretation of the the 👑. The furniture all the gold, the Chandler's, Graceland indeed. 👍. A Masterpiece 👣
Elvis sang this song in 1969 & just superb. Obviously Angelina is so different yet always exceptional. xx
Ken, try this performance next; Angelina Jordan - Crazy (tiktok Apr 11, 2022) - UA-cam
The hairdo (it's called "beehive") is reminiscent of Priscilla Presley's hair during the time of her wedding and marriage to Elvis (and multitudes of other women from that time who adopted it, as I recall as a boy).
john Hate to be a stickler, but Priscilla wore a bouffant hairdo at her wedding (and other times), not a beehive as Angelina has in the video.
Ken, you always exceed my high expectations for analysis and reaction... and thanks for the kind recognition...
She just sang 53 songs at three shows back in Norway last week . Theres tons of new stuff to react to. Maybe do a three-fer . Her adult voice is a juggernaut of sound and emotion
