I wish I could blare Oliver Anthony while I was driving. The problem is my eyes start sweating profusely when I hear that voice. How could one man with one instrument capture such beautiful tragedy into his own soul, then digest it, then regurgitate it out to us so intact and pure? There are tens if not hundreds of thousands (is it millions?) of people working in the music industry pumping out garbage auto tune BS with dubious lyrics the singer didn't have a hand in writing. All it took was one man with one guitar and three dogs to bare his soul and capture the imagination of the whole country.
I wish people would acknowledge and credit. Radio WV. For scouting and finding this national treasure. None of us would have ever heard of him

I agree about the simplicity of just his voice and guitar. A band would ruin the beauty, yes beauty, of his art! His channel has lots of songs he's recorded on his phone. What a gift we've all been given with his music.

The most insightful thing I have ever heard was from my mother after I got out of the military. I was talking about how everything I ever knew had changed l. She looked at me and said " you can never go home again" it killed me inside but also let me know I was a man now and had to create my own. I never have. No matter how much I drink its gone forever. I'll never get it back.

He has several more singles. I’m not sure but don’t think he has an album out. His music reminds me more of folk music than country. This man is speaking for all of us working class people.
I think he's just his own category/genre. This is why he stands out from everyone else and people from different races, countries, religions, etc love him. We need his voice at this time of our lives.

Country is not my genre either, but he has "captivated" me as well. I have listened to this song a dozen times, and I still can't stop from tearing up every time he says those words... "I wanna go home." He's made a Country fan out of me the same way Tom MacDonald has made me a rap fan. And yes... we are all DONE with this world in its current state, absolutely.
Listen to Rich Man’s Gold. My favorite by him. I’m not huge into country but his style of folk is amazing and I hope he gets the recognition he deserves.
