CCR one of the best Rock n Roll bands of all time. They just kill it.
Truth
These guys created an insane amount of good music.
Nur John....und sie wurden um Millionen (!) betrogen.... Samuel Zantz, leider darf man zu dieser Person die Wahrheit nicht sagen...
"This guy", John Fogerty was the one and only boss
@@capitanpastabase6342no CCR would not be the same with all the others
CCR more than any other group (in my mind anyway) will always embody the soundtrack of the 1960’s
Excellent ..50 years gone and the power is still like exploding dynamite....
As my best friend always says....John Fogerty has voice like a hurricane. 👌🤘
@@TheDarkDutchman remember good...good times to the 70's 😍😍
WHY THE FUCK CANT THERE BE MUSIC LIKE THIS TODAY ...... IT WOULD STRAITEN A LOTTA SHIT OUT
Yessir… I do’s agree…
Fogerty’s vocals make this a great song! Amazing singer! 👏🏻🎸😎
"Sweet hitch-a-hiker" One of the greatest lyric deliveries ever recorded. The way he added the -a- in the middle of that phrase was what pushed it over the top for me.
Very true. But I always thought Fogerty was singing "Swedish Hitchhiker"!
@@Chops_McCoy Either that or he's singing in a bayou Italian accent.
You got to get up and dance when he says sweet it's hiker can't sit got to travel that's all what the traveling band CCR is about lobster 2022 that's bobster phone understand thank you

Good old Classic Rock!! Doesnt get any better than that!!
Greatest of the American Rock and Roll bands.
Why always with the competition? What about Paul Revere and the Raiders, early opposers of the British Invasion. Open up your ears for songs like Him or Me, and of course Hungry and Kicks. Or other American bands? I don't think the word "greatest" should pass our lips when it comes to music.
Aerosmith: Hold my coke boy! Skynyrd: Hol' my whiskey, boy! 🤓😎✌🏼
The legendary and brilliant John Fogerty.
Simply the best!!!
JOHN FOGERTHY HAPPY 77- TH, BIRTHDAY!! ALL THE BEST,GOD BLESS YOU!!!!
John is 78 and Still in His Prime. He Jams!
So many great bands that have a unique sound - The Beatles, Stones, Led Zeppelin, U2, but CCR is up there with best of them. True rock n roll royalty
Facts❤❤❤❤
Damn straight.
U2 sucks
Classic rock never gets old it gets better!
@jer quake Concordo, igual ao whisky, e no Brasil, igual cachaça, quanto mais velho melhor.
Fico imaginando quem ouviu essa canção em vinil, deve ter sido bárbaro e selvagem.
I should apply that to all good music
Just like fine wine
Like a bottle ((or two) of fine wine brother!
Classic rock is like fine wine It keeps getting better with age
What a magnificent rock song! Kick-in heaven. & Fogertys blasting away. Vocal all attitude.
It's an undisputed fact thay for a time, CCR were bigger than the Beatles. They played the Royal Albert Hall and will forever remain my all time favourite band. They are music for the Soul
Love listening to this in my 69 road runner as I'm cruising down the highway!
This song reminds me of times when freedom could still be felt within. Great singer voice.
and the promise of things ahead
Reminds me of being in the Navy stationed out in California in 1971 & dreaming about being free in '73 !
Good song
@@Rick-S-6063 My dad was in his mid 20's at this time and he says there were lots of hitchhikers back then. He said it didn't have the reputation it does now at all back then.

My God! I remember, while in my teens, playing this on a jukebox at some place while on vacation with my parents. Decades later my parents are gone BUT this song remains. Great times and great music.
Creedence will never get old
ALWAYS loved this one!!!!! They don't make them like this anymore! And, the drums on this are PERFECT!
These high notes at the end of the chorus, sided by the guitar, give me chills...

This brought back great memories. I was stationed at a now deactivated airbase over in the Netherlands when i was at a bar in Amsterdam and this came on. Every time i hear this i get the goose bumps. John Fogartys voice was one of a kind !
I was reassigned out there in California after serving on the ForestFire.
She went to the MED .
This song came out then.
1971. That's why I remember it.
I was stationed @ Miramar when this came out in 1971
There were a lot of hippie chicks in Shoemaker Calif. like in this video
GREAT memories for this aging Baby Boomer
One of songs I listen to more than any other! As an ex biker & guitarist myself, this song just does it! That pounding rhythm & bass plus J F's vocals just gets my juices flowing everytime. A fantastic biking/driving song..if not the best!!
The best band of all time. No other band sounds like them or has the same energy.
Timeless music that will last forever.
YES I AGREE!!! CCR
and the record company railed him the most. even after his contract ended. they sued him because he sounded like his own voice and the record company won

This is some tasty stuff.
We had it so good,,I feel sorry for the kids today,,, they get fed garbage
First Creedence Clearwater Revival record I bought as a kid in 60s L.A.
little 45 single for Green River. Creedence was the shit on the radio back then.
I was really crazy about CCR in my early teens. However, only in later years I learned to recognize John Fogerty's sophisticated lyrical style.
Yup, he tells a short story in this one!
I love Creedence Clearwater Revival.
I too
Y quien no ?
You're sweet.
My 80 y/o mom calls them "clearwater-Creedence".
Only dullards don't like CCR!
Something bittersweet about this video. They were a three piece at this point and broke up soon after.
This guy is a national treasure and endured alot of bad shit unmistakable voice and talent so lucky he persevered and still doing it well ❤
The last GREAT recording in the brief but absolutely brilliant career of CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL 🎸
This song was off their last album, called 'Mardi Gras', released in 1972. Their last album. Tom had left CCR before this. At John's insistence, the 3 remaining members wrote and produced 1/3 each of the album. It didn't sell that well, but still had a couple of hit singles off it from John's songs.
YES NO WAY,THE CCR HAVE SPECIAL ENERGY,THAT NO BAND EVER HAD!!! UNIQUE!!!
So many awesome songs in their repertoire. 50+ years and the music still stands the test of time.
This is one of my CCR faves!
One of my favorite rock and roll songs of all time, not just CCR, but of all the great music of the past. Awesome!
this is a masterpiece !
YES Sir ! !
One of the few songs I bought on 45. Technology may have changed, but Badass songs last forever.
One of the top songs that was out around August 19, 1971. I saw John Fogerty on November 3, 1986, at Chrysler Hall in Norfolk, VA. Delbert McClinton opened.
One of the best groups ever I’ve got everyone of their songs they’ve ever made❤
Still one of CCR's best songs. The FUZZ and distortion on the guitar - unusual for such early rock.
I think that's just a Kustom amp turned up to 8 or 9 and then a doubled guitar part! They said they cut it in two days.
That Voice! Amazing and he wrote great songs to go along with that voice! I didn’t even know they made a video for this song! This is great! CCR Forever!
As i live in the netherlands this song was not the most popular ccr song.....when i went to america to my future wife i heared it daily...i love john fogarty's voice and all their songs ...thanks for the legacy
This song is pure rock n roll perfection
I love that drummer Doug Clifford plays triplet strokes for drum fills. Smart. Most drummers would play a four-stroke fill.
He also plays four-stroke fills, like all drummers.
@@960john Yes he does. Even in this song. But he one of the few drummers that plays a triplet accent with any regularity.
I just notice that, that's pretty rare for a rock drummer
Indeed. My violinist wife (who is a bit of a pedant..) pointed out to me that it is not really a triplet -- rather, in those passages he just plays the first three beats in a four-stroke fill (the fourth being a rest). A triplet would be where three beats equally fill the space of four.
@@user-cb3kv4fe7 Interesting. I never thought of that.
Great great stuff !!! CCR is one of the World's best bands ever! Marvellous sound, awesome drive and Energy! Chapeau Chapeau! :))
Sweet hitcha haika.. yeah he has a unique way of singing words. When I was a kid I wanted to learn the bass line so I must have played the song over a few times. My dad was listening and asks me, "who the hell is Peter Jahaifis?"
The music of CCR is timeless.. Just wonderful...nevertheless I remember my youth
They never made a bad song.
Their final album, Mardi Gras, has a few lemons but none of them were written by John Fogerty. Rather, they were songs by Cook and Clifford and they are below par for what CCR had been creating since the first album.
Listen to “Take It Like A Friend”
@@roberthill799Ironically, this song is on Mardi Gras
No way I love there music and I still have the 33 record and 45 record
You are very right about that for sure
Never had a bad song.
I was grown up with the music of CCR, because that's the favorite band of my parents, they listen it so many times. I also love the music of CCR, you can hear, see, and feel it that they were having so much fun to play their music. They breath the music in their lungs 😋😀. Rock n roll🤘🤘, love you mum and dad❤️
Imagine finishing off your discography with a song like this. They went out with a bang!
What a crowd-pleasing gem of a tune. The arrangement is so tight and the phrasing of the lyrics makes you wonder how a country boy can tell 3 stories in 3 minutes.
John and the entire band were not country boys. From El Cerrito in the Bay Area.
It seemed like they hadn't had a big hit in some time, and then this song hit the radio, and it burst in like an avalanche. My thought was, all right- they're back!!
The rock rhythm and lead guitar of Fogerty has a fancy drive, hard to sing at the same time. Fogerty is one of the greatest singers ever.
John Fogerty......my absolute Hero, more than 50 Years ! Sweet HITCH HIKER...one of the best Rocksongs in Musik History ❤
Cuando era niño en el estribillo cantaba PRIMO JAIME !.
No me canso de escuchar esta canción!.
Gracias papá por enseñarme a oir creedence
Love the Greasy King reference. Burger shack in El Cerritos
Best song on Mardi Gras.
It don't get much better than this, love it
I love this song. I get disgusted when I think of how the fans were robbed of more music of John Fogerty in his prime. The lawsuits from jealous band members and a greedy record label really screwed things up. I'm very grateful for what we have but this guy is just a hit song making machine and we could have had so much more. *sigh* I never tire of listening to some John Fogerty.
Cresci ouvindo essa banda
The lawsuits came much later. John could have worked with his band mates instead of insisting they should sing their own songs. And letting Tom have a couple of songs on each album to prevent him quitting. Together they could have fulfilled the bad Fantasy contract. But John was paranoid that people would stop buying their albums. But selling ten times less would still be great number.
@@primtones You still side with traitors and liars. I bet you like BLM too. What an idiot..
@@emergencylowmaneuvering7350 He’s exactly right. What John Fogarty did was exactly what John Lennon and Paul McCartney and George Martin did to George Harrison. We’ll never know if Tom Fogarty and Stu Cook and Doug Clifford would have been songwriters because they never had a chance to develop. John Fogarty was like a child at the playground who took his ball home because he didn’t get his way. I understand that John didn’t want to sing their songs, but Doug, Stu and Tom would have settled for 4 songs between them, and John could get the other 8. But John wanted to MAKE A POINT: He insisted that they write MORE SONGS because he wanted them to fail. Yes: The Lawsuits came years later. In reality: John Fogarty destroyed his own band, and never came close to achieving that sort of success again. It’s his own fault: He refused to bend a little and compromise. He could have gotten a lot, but instead: He lost it all. It’s karma: It was HIS CHOICE. John Fogarty did it. He lost YEARS of beautiful songs because he was stubborn. It was his choice.
@@wildmercuryfilms Bunch of lies to side with the mediocre traitors. Never listen fo JF created songs again. Only listen from now on to Mardi Grass album your heroes created. Yeah, that shit they traitors created. I bet you dont do that.
Still badass after all these years go figure
Una de las mejores bandas de rock, temazooo!! Que sea rock, que sea creedence🤘. Gracias a mi viejo por inculcarme este genero musical y más que nada, esta terrible banda.
What does Temazooo Mean?
@@petejones879 Tema means song. In spanish when you add -azo to a word is to highlight it, as in making its meaning bigger or better (auto is car but autazo is a really good car). So basically it means that this is a great song
@@nanodebortoli OK thanks

How can you not like CCR
I still like this song today.
✌😎👍
It's growing up with music like this that made growing up look so cool and free! It made you feel like you could take off on a road trip to wherever and end up happy.
One of my favorite CCR songs! Why did I have to be born in 1979? I missed out on so much!
man, that's a good music video
Great hard driving CCR song! Listen to Doug's drumming here - so inventive! I don't know why so many people dish out on Tom, Stu & Doug. The fact is all of John's solo stuff had NOWHERE NEAR the feel & excitement of the CCR songs. All 3 were exceptional musicians in their own way & added so much character the the CCR sound. John was a brilliant writer, singer & guitarist - but also a control freak. He wanted to do all the overdubs himself. Stu was a piano player but it wasn't until the "Pendulum" album that he was allowed to play piano on anything. Also Tom should have had the chance to develop his vocals. John & Tom were about equal right back at the start, but John really worked on his voice & it became a powerhouse. CCR could have had a very long life if John hadn't been so controlling.
You're so right. They had so much power by the early '70s, they could have experienced and evolved so much and still sold a load of albums just because of their brand. The could have fulfilled the bad Fantasy contract by 1974, especially if all four were producing songs. CCR is supposed to be working class music, but John displays individualism like a capitalist. He forgets his talent grew from The Golliwogs.
Excellent comment. It's the truth.
Without John however no one would have heard of the other three boys.
"A very long life" with crap songs written and sung by Tom Fogerty, Stu Cook, and Doug Clifford? 🤣
Tom Fogerty wrote and performed lead vocals when CCR was known as The Golliwogs. His songs were terrible which is why John took over as the songwriter and lead vocalist when they became CCR. Tom Fogerty left CCR to embark on a solo career that went nowhere. Each album was terrible and got worse. He never improved in an entire decade both writing and singing.
Stu Cook and Doug Clifford were given the opportunity to both sing and write songs on Mardi Gras. The result was a disaster as both the singing and writing was crap. They later reformed as "Creedence Clearwater Revisited" and neither one of them attempted to write their own material when they had the full opportunity to do so.
So, all this proves is that John Fogerty was correct to have control of the band since his songwriting and vocals was CCR. Tom, Stu, and Doug were jealous of John which was obvious. When they were given the opportunity to write and sing, they totally bombed which made the animosity grow even more.
Tom, Stu, and Doug were not songwriters or singers. They were excellent musicians at playing their own instruments. Their jealousy and quest to become something they were not was what broke up the band.
You have no argument here since the material they put out was total crap and it would never have a "long life" amongst listeners because nobody listens to the garbage they already put out.
It's a fantastic single and promo. The best, tightest. Getting to have this music at age 13 was a privilege.
Real music from great times. Long live CCR!
This was the one song that got me hooked to ccr it was 1976. Tq to John n the band for making a 12 year old see the world in different way.

Sad those days, gone by so fast never to be relive again
Real Biker music! Drums and Rhythm guitar keep that Momentum. Then John Fogerty really 'Wales' it.
I swear, I’ve had this tune stuck in my head for months now and could not for the life of me feature the lyric. All I had was melodic phrase of the blurred and slurred words “sweet hitch hiker”. Finally hunted it down, now I can get some rest. CCR still got hook!
