I think Gen X and the few years before and after are really distinct. We’re the only age group whose humor both offends the generation before AND after.
I am Greek and S.O.D.''s Speak English Or Die never offended me. I took it as a joke even as a kid when I first listened to it. I agree with you that March Of The S.O.D. has the greatest riff ever. The whole album is filled with amazing riffs. I agree with you also that this cancel culture thing has gone too far.
Yeah I'm full of hatred. I'm full of hatred for assholes who try and control and manipulate everyone just so they feel safe. That's the true nature of what people today think this album's about. Cause those assholes who want to control everyone else, they're the ones full of hate.
No one wanted Ian to apologize, they just wanted to show him that while he was going around attacking everyone else like a good little lefty he has a pile of stuff in HIS closet as well
Sgt D is coming, and you're on his list!! Love this album! Shmackamagob! Sometimes I wonder, how much could be accomplished if so many people didnt spend endless amounts of energy looking for things to become offended by.
I left a comment on something the other day saying in this day and age the snowflakes get hurt over simple words when back in the day nobody did and I hate it that the words hurt their poor little snowflake heads 🤘🤘🤘 S.O.D rules
Hell no S.O.D. Speak English Or Die is one of my all time favorite albums. What I like about old school crossover thrash is the non politically correctness and the sense of humor of it.
@@klauswigsmithAmerica's freedom of speech applies to American citizens only. If a foreigner wants to become an American citizen, it wouldn't be at all unreasonable for one of the criteria to be that they must speak English.

I got to see them for their 2nd tour I want to say back in 03 in Denver at the Ogden theatre. Fucking electric !! Skin lab opened , but when s.o.d. to the stage ,the crowd exploded. I literally mean exploded the entire venue ,a building that was close to atleast 100 yrs began to shake it felt like. The entire floor of people was one big pit. And the venue couldn't hold more than maybe 800 people at best was completely jammed . Was one of the best shows I can rember . Long. Live S.O.D. and that entire hardcore music genre
I love sod and I'm like you, im tired of this woke up crap its just a joke nothing serious. I'm half mexican. I have family that are from Mexico and i never once thought speak English or die was offensive. Listen to black sabbath!!
Speak English or Die is the blueprint for metal. Still one of the best recordings ever recorded and it always will be. It changed the world of music. Nothing to be ashamed about.
I listened to it back then, and im still listening to it in 2025
I still have my vinyl copy from 1985.

Kids born in the mid-60s to mid-70s are cut from different cloth.
I was born in 1986, and listen S.O.D. regularly, so you can't just say it's only Gen x that doesn't get offended.
@ There are of course plenty of individual exceptions such as yourself, but if you go by averages, what I say is true.
@@mikeysingleton6389People born in 1980-1986 are a mini generation.
In 1987 I wore a speak english or die t shirt to school all the time.
Same here. 😊👍🏻👍🏻

Seriously cancel cancel culture. But that doesn't me we have to put up something we don't like.

Is Scott a lefty now? Weird, because he had the regulation army cut
@ Oh him and Charlie were the worst during Trump’s first term- they would watch 7 secs of CNN and then go on tears on Metal Sucks
I play that album loud and clear anywhere.
A legendary album.

A rockstar with balls, truly a dying breed.
Without SOD we still to this day wouldnt have known about whatever happened to Celtic Frost!

@@METALBENSCHRONICLES Billy Milano is far from PC. That is awesome.
I agree with what was said on S.E.O.D and F the Middle East. I did back then, and I still do now.
so you think people should actually speak English or die?
If they come to this country to become an American citizen then hell yeah they should be required by law to be able to speak the freaking language.
@ "yeah they should be required by law to be able to speak the freaking language."
So much for the "land of the free" and "freedom of speech", lol

S.O.D is still relevant today
The album “Retaliation” by the band “Carnivore” is a great compliment to the SOD records. If you know, you know.
Peter Steele before Type O Negative... Jesus Hitler & Race War, haha classic album
M.O.D. pushed the envelope way further than S.O.D.! Those tapes were played constantly with my crew while skating the backyard halfpipe. PLAY LOUD
The MOD album that Lilker and Ian wrote songs on, including the vile N word using Aren’t You Hungry.
I like to sing March of Captain D's after a fast food seafood joint 😂
Great video man. I love SOD

I still listen to SOD they had the heaviest riffs of that time.
Stormtroopers of death is comedy thrash and the best at his time
Charlie Benante could not be reached for comment.
What an album, classic 🤘Btw your parents rocked
I never found them to be offensive, more like 'lame jokes'. I thought Gwar lyrics were funnier. 🤷
This WOKE/P.C. stuff isn't doing anyone any favors...
most offensive music is rap. not talking about the lyrics. im just saying rap sucks
It's offensive in every way.
Yeh, the obvious drug abuse and very derogatory references of women make bands like Crue and Poison seem like Sunday school in that sense
The most offensive band ever was a grind band that Dan Lilker played shows with when he was in Brutal Truth called Anal Cunt.
I also find the newer hybrid of country and rap offensive. I call it CRAP
@@razor7394 yeah at least sod had some music skills. rap is just talking over other peoples music
Different times,he don't need to apologize for anything.....Scott Ian 👎Rap is corrosion!

That's it Ralph you made me angry. You are now canceled!!!!!!!!!
Fuck yes! WOKE RULES!
I hate heavy metal, but I love S.O.D.
.I can respect that..Although his politics were way off then & way off now

Just as awesome in '25 as it was in '85! Crank it up!
