This is the third video I've looked at attempting to do what should be a piss-easy task and the first one that gave an answer that didn't result in damage to my finger or to the key fob. Thank you! It's quite ridiculous that my Ford manual doesn't give the instructions for this key type.

Hi, thanks for the good feedback. As you say, it's actually pretty easy, but they put all the components exposed, which is poor design . We really appreciate you leaving these comments

I used one of the triangular plastic tools that are used for opening mobile phone cases rather than a screwdriver. It considerably reduces the chance of causing damage and they are as cheap as chips on ebay.

Incorrect way. You should open the key compartment first by squeezing the side buttons. Then remove the metal key. Use a small screwdriver to prise from inside at the slotted lever point to split the key and expose the battery compartment..... all as per Ford instructions and unlikely to damage internal components which this method may do if the blade slips.

Just watched the proper way to open the SAME key fob on another video.........it was not like yours. I am the last person who gave this video the thumbs down at 121, for that reason.
I believe that there are 2 buttons either side to releas the TOP button panel , exposing the key. Once removing the key......insert a small screwdriver into the key tip recess at the top inside and press to remove the battery and electronics compartment, and without risking damage to the components you highlighted. Then......remove the battery.
As I stated.........I gave your video the thumbs down for that reason. Sorry, but I stand by that review.
