I have been around since the beginning using 1 stick/one button. I was 29 when that fateful day when I first played Gears at a friends house and knew I had to get one although I’d had a PlayStation the prior two Generations. At 47, having gamed for 90+% of my life and subsequently owning both the PS4/XB1S and PS5/XBSX, I can honestly say my favorite console of all time is the 360.
I was also in high school during this era, Halo 3, Gears 2 and Skyrim were the most hyped I’ve ever been for game releases. I ended up picking up a ps3 as well when they released the slim and I found out about Demons Souls. The steam deck is bringing the feeling of this time back for me. All I want to play on it are games from this era. A much simpler time in my life. Great video and thank you for the nostalgia trip!
I have been a gamer since the late 1980's and am now in my early 40's, never married or had kids, I really remained a kid at heart my whole life so i really dont have nostalgia for gaming when I was younger, and much younger. To be honest I think the last 7 year or so have been my favorite. Games like Death Stranding, Sekiro, Final fantasy 7 Remake, Yakuza games, Elden Ring, Zelda BoTW and ToTK,, Horizon, Nier Automata, AI Somnium Files, Persona 5, Alan Wake 2, Cyberpunk 2077 2.0.. have become some of my favorite games of all time. Also i love VR, and experiencing VR has been life changing. When it comes to my favorite console? Probably PS4.
@@RadKatz 2005-2008 I was in law school and living abroad, and was still gaming but not as much, and mostly PS and Nintendo so I kind missed the initial launch of the Xbox 360. But I see how games like Gears of War were truly groundbreaking at the time. Recently played Gears of war and that game still holds up great to this day. Also the Xbox 360 was groundbreaking since it was a console that really took it to the Nintendo and PS, and made some really great games.
Grew up with the og xbox and the 360, best consoles Microsoft put out by far. Just sucks that I have literally 0 reason to buy an xbox nowadays since all the games the series x/s have I can also play on my pc… in my disappointment, I actually ended up buying another 360 last year and started recollecting for it, as well as looking into all the backwards compatible xbox games I can play on it.
@@RadKatz I remember during the Xbox one era telling myself they'll probably end up like Sega the way things are going right now so I was surprised when they put out the series x/s. But with pretty much 0 exclusives I can't see them lasting much longer sadly.

what would you consider your golden age?

Great video man seriously. Just the dose of nostalgia I needed. The gaming industry has gone down the toilet these days.
