I remember seeing bands like this for free Saturday afternoons at pubs in Melbourne. I tell people now that we saw great bands like ACDC at The old South Side Six in Moorabbin for free, the only proviso was that you had a drink.. We would t j en head to the Mathew Flinders pub nearby Saturday night to see more bands like Jeff St John 2:372:37 , Joe Camaleiri and Daddy Cool etc. We had the best entertainment music in that time , today not much live entertainment and all we get now is pre recorded crap...bring back 60s and 70s music please..
Watched the Easybeats rehearse at Villawood Hostel sports room when i was a kid back in the day i was 12 what an intro into music some of us are just lucky i think ...cheers ..
I was there in the 1960s. The Easybeats were up there with the Beatles for us. So tragic we have lost Stevie and George but their work goes on. Love you guys, thanks for everything.
With a bit of luck, or maybe just being in another multiverse, the Easybeats (and Small Faces) would have been recogniszed today as being part of Rock & Rolls greatest; along with the Who, Kinks, Beatles and Stones.
@@jameswitham2141 They really should, and their music back in the 60's should have been promoted way more and the record companies shouldn't have screwed them around. They had some quality music.
Even the Beatles got screwed by record companies early on. Their solution: start your own record company: Apple. I know a couple of aspiring musos in Australia, who refuse to sign up to any label. 🤨
So good . i`ve seen them in the support program of The Rolling Stones April 1st 1967 in Hamburg, then still West Germany. Friday on my mind was then ev`rywhere on the charts.
Maybe not as well known as other hits but I loved it when first released as it was different, along with punctuated bass guitar. One of many great songs of theirs and appreciate my age (sometimes) by remembering this type of music as a teenager. R.I.P., S.W.
Awesome band. Untouchable. For a front man to behave like that on stage takes real ego and charisma. You have to know you are out front of the best band ever. Arrogance justified. Tragically the star that burns the brightest burns briefest. We are so lucky to have this footage. It gives us a glimpse. So much of other artists like Jackie Wilson was lost
Dick Diamonde's only vocal contribution to an Easybeat record. Seems to me that Dick's great talent as bass player for Australia's best-ever band is never mentioned.
Dick Diamonde was a great addition to this band you had Stevie going wild the other guys doing their thing and Dick expressionless but they all put out one of OZ's best.
I think you will find this went to Number One in many places around Australia. I saw them live at least 8 times during this period and it was chaos! Girls everywhere! Just a great track to dance to.
Not just the best Aussie band, but best rock 'n' roll band period with the most dynamic front man and amazing vocalist period. Besides the Aussie garage bands and NZ too ,have something wilder, more primitive, fiercer than most Yank or Brit, bands. Better hair, too ; )
Guitar George" e "Harry" são George Young e Harry Vander, guitarristas da banda The Easybeats, CITADOS POR MARK NOPFLER em seu clássico "Sultam of Swing"

27/12/2015 RIP Stevie. l will always fill with joy every time l remember what you contributed to my life as an Aussie teenager in the '60s. Pity they went to the UK. Would have gone further if they stayed in Oz. Got the hypnotic beat. Stands up well. Sort of 60s garage rockabilly with is more liberated mores. Big job for the poor doctor
.....this one works well. They're trying out different ideas to the usual .I remember seeing this performance in 66 on bandstand I think. They were definetly willing to try out new ideas so why didn't they get anywhere with George martin ? ; maybe they didn't share his sense of humour . Beatles and George Martin were into The Goon Show .
Only just learned Dick has passed away. His death was announced a few days ago. As far as I know that just leaves Harry and Snowy. Dick's parents were Jehovah's Witnesses. Torn between what he wanted and his parent's beliefs he battled inner demons right throughout his time with the boys. RIP Dick

That must of been incredible, the lads would have been shy of 16-17 years old then.
Half a century later, it still delights!

George Young, The beging of a beautiful thing. THE YOUNG 'CLAN' 😈🏴
I didn't realize George Young could play the piano too. What a great job!
George played pretty much everything on the Flash albums. Guitars, drums, piano etc. Gifted multi instrumentalist and songwriter. RIP💖.
He played 9 instruments, and came from a very talented family.
Angus & Brian j play piano too 😊
I loved these guys. The best of their era.
Good music taste

Yeh. That's sad, really....
We used to drink in Brisbane in the mid 80s after he got out ...

no. Rolf Harris is the most amazing vocalist ever
you are right---i like the primitive wilder bit.
You need to get out more. What is ironic is not one of them was Australian.

Proto AC-DC. Anything with Stevie Wright.
Sounds like they are about to scream " we gotta get outta this place if its the last thing we ever do".

They had signed a Record Deal in the UK. If they didn’t do the move then Friday On My Mind wouldn’t happened.
No they had quite a bit of success in the UK & US. If they didn't go overseas then the Australian music scene would be very different.
Now that is an odd song!
♥️😍😍
Reminds me of the Animals, Eric Burton. But I still have not heard anything on par with Friday on My Mind
" Doctor my car is sick"
Karmann Ghia, Karman Ghia." (1966 folk lounge parody)

Whoa, that's creepy...
What?
Are you saying this is creepy cuz ur one of those 14 year olds like me that say the 60s were trash -_-
Kong Man are you flexing your age again?
Yilmas VEVO no I love acdc and the easybeats
I thought they were gonna play a "We Gotta Get Outa This Place" cover!!
Is that what it says in the title? No.
Great band. Did a lot of strong songs, not one hit and the rest all filler. Also enjoy unexpected moments from bass players!
We gotta get out of their place.
Kinda reminds me of “Bald Headed Women” by The Who.
Richard wanted to marry him & declined the offerI declined.
Not so famous, but you can‘t get your feet stop stomping
Tobacco Road to ACDC
What a shocking guitar sound. Surely they studio could have done better ? Good band though.
This is a good tune, what are you on about?
It's all good to me
