good songs are timeless, I was a teenager when the song came out. my brother had just returned from the states , he brought(to south america) this record with him and I was fascinated by it from the start, at that time I didn´t even speak a word of english,eventually I ended up living in california from 1971 to 1975 , I still enjoy immensely listening to this remarkable song after more than 57 years.... a spoonful of bliss

This is amazing. I was born in 84 but I’ve always had a love of the 60s. Love the scenes of late 60s London and early 60s Liverpool, with this amazing music. I missed out!

I love the video in this. I was doing the same thing in Phoenix and LA. It was a worldwide awakening. Those kids at the Cavern Club were seeing some of the best bands that became the British invasion. We were watching some of the greatest bands from the same time here in the states. I wouldn't trade it for the world.
One of my favorite concert memories was seeing The Lovin' Spoonful performing on a stage in the middle of the rodeo arena at The Ohio State Fair in Aug. 1966. I was 15 and this song went to #1 that month. A year later on Sept. 2, 1967, my brother and my cousins and I were back in the same grandstand bleachers watching Herman's Hermits.
The Ohio State Fair was the very best at getting great entertainment & all of it was free. Years ago I saw The Rolling Stones playing there. Good Times, Great memories!! *

Remember hearing this on Philadelphia's WFIL Famous 56 in Summer of 66 when I was9 yr.old headed to the 4th grade. Times were changing , and the war in Vietnam furiously raging.

I grew up in rural Kansas. I moved to Chicago area as an adult and worked in the city. When I heard this on the oldies stations, I saw how closely the images evoked by the song in childhood of "summer in the city" matched the reality of Chicago in the summer!
The Cavern Club in Liverpool should still be there. Imagine the draw! Such a shame it was demolished for a parking lot. Knowing in 2020 the historic / cultural significance of the place. Ironically John Lennon dismissed it's loss as "no big deal".
Why should John Lennon have cared, to him it was just another place he played in. He hadn't lived in Liverpool since the mid 1960s, his life had long since moved on. Unfortunately it's not there anymore and when it was proposed to be pulled down there wasn't a public outcry. Cities get bigger people need houses to live in, more cars on the roads so more carparks needed. Can't save everything, besides it'd only end up a huge cash cow for someone

The Cavern Club in Liverpool should still be there. Imagine the draw! Such a shame it was demolished for a parking lot. Knowing in 2020 the historic / cultural significance of the place. Ironically John Lennon dismissed it's loss as "no big deal".
I’ve been to it when I was in England a few years ago. It a pretty cool place to check out.
Why should John Lennon have cared, to him it was just another place he played in.
He hadn't lived in Liverpool since the mid 1960s, his life had long since moved on.
Unfortunately it's not there anymore and when it was proposed to be pulled down there wasn't a public outcry.
Cities get bigger people need houses to live in, more cars on the roads so more carparks needed.
