NOTE TO THIS FORUM: IN NO WAY AM I PROUD OF WHAT MY STUDENT DID! I TAKE MY FAITH VERY SERIOUSLY AND HE WAS A CRIMINAL. MY POINT FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO IS TO SAY THAT I HAVE NO INTEREST IN SPORT NOR CARE TO MAKE MY NAME TEACHING PEOPLE IN IT! MY INTEREST IS IN TEACHING PEOPLE TO BE "DANGEROUS IN THE SERVICE" OF THEIR LOVED ONES AND THEMSELVES".
NOTE TO THIS FORUM: THIS VIDEO WAS MADE TO SHOW MY DISDAIN FOR THE SPORT MARTIAL ARTISTS WHO COME INTO MY FORUM ASKING WHO I TRAINED AS THOUGH TRAINING A MMA FIGHTER MATTERS IN THE STREET. PEOPLE WHO TRAIN WITH ME ONE ON ONE ARE NEVER TO BE MESSED WITH. ONLY 4 HAVE TRAINED WITH ME ONE ON ONE IN THE STREET METHODS I WAS TAUGHT. NONE APPEARED ON MY UA-cam CHANNEL.
In Trenton NJ there was an older guy who was a trained kick boxer who had what you called "world class skills." He was 6'4 and would stick up drug dealers with his bare hands because he was hooked om drugs. What made him dangerous in our neighborhood is when the cops would catch him robbing, he would lure them in an alley and beat them up, 3 or 4 at a time. They would have to call for back up and all jump on him to get him locked up. He lives in Texas now, gotta be in his 50s at this point though. That was real danger.
It doesn't matter if you taught 1 person or 1 million. What does matter is if you made a difference in another person's life. Excellent video as always.
Your best student was a stick up artist who made a series of choices, leading him to other choices in reforming himself and changing his ways. Combative arts do that, cause the ramifications of holding such brutal power can alter lives at the drop of a hat.
Asalaamu Alaykum Brother Sayf. Your videos are always insightful and extremely helpful. Some of these critics only do it because they want your attention more than anything. Don't pay them too much mind.
You've probably made this clear in earlier videos but, I have to ask, what system of karate outside of the KA system would you recommend someone train if they couldn't train directly with you?
I got a question. Top 5 boxing trainers in history? Would you consider Eddie Futch, Joe Blackburn, Harry Wiley, Cus D’Amato, Dunde, Stewart… Cristobal Rosas( S.Sanchez & Chavez) ? After Ray Arcel.
You are a sincere(and good, realistic)teacher.Btw a lot of kung fu and karate teachers have the same experiences.thinking all the students were pacifist momk-alike good souls its a myth! And famous maratial arts teachers were sometimes scum of the society(Capoeira and Hong kong kf mostly)
Now that's realer than Real Deal Holyfield. Someone like me can hear what you're really saying. I think you might have shocked some of these fools though. Let em chew on that for a while. They still ain't gonna totally get it....But you did explain it to em thoroughly in my humble opinion. Great story.

This guy is a breath of fresh air. Finally real self-defense knows what he’s saying.

Kudos to your student. People are capable of change with the proper guidance and care. Best wishes.
I’m glad your talking about this guy again so people can learn from practical martial arts
First comment from the most faithful follower of your channel Great video thanks for the upload hit that like button and great information
Damm now thats terrifying sayf makes my blood boil imagining such a individual , All love tho sayf i understand not being proud about that.
@lilcaramell: He was like a brother to me actually. Very good fighter and doing well now.
I hope his life has improved and isn't on drugs anymore. I hate to glorify what he did but he sounds like a total badass.

This hits close to home considering half the fighters at my gym( me included) have a past with the streets.

If you disagree with sayf, your a partial artist.
@abramlittle7102: LOL! That is good! Thanks for that one. Gotta use that. Hope all is well. S
Don't let yourself be affected by what others say. You have so much to offer iin terms of wisdom and practical advice.
@RevSteveHermann: Thank you Rev! Much appreciated. God Bless, Sayf
What are your thoughts on female self defence?
How do we get on the list for this material you're sending out
Super dope video

After Ray Arcel.
Assalaamu alaykom brother. Have you done a video on judo? Also, what’s the best martial art for my young daughters to learn? Jazaak Allah khair!
For young girls, I like traditional Muay Thai. Enough stand up grappling, but more strikes with the most durable parts of the human body.
@TheUmmahFightCamp the slap and step reminds me of the sticky hands in JKD
Well actually there is very little connection with the slap and step.
