    I turned my truck in after 11 months also and bought a used kenworth t680 and only had issues with my apu truck held up good..i feel sorry for the owner ops who have these almost 1500 weekly truck payments which includes all the insurances ..i had to stay out for weeks to make sure i have money for my truck..i didnt like the stress…i now have a 2020 Peterbilt another used and wouldnt change anything esp with the monthly payments..i left Schneider when i turned in my truck but now im back..this is my second week back i grossed 4300 and will get 3000 on my settlement after fuel with 800 800 1200 and 1300 week…

    When I went from being a company driver to OO with SFI/Schneider, I did it because I wanted freedom. It's the least free I ever been. No matter how long you have been on the road, you can only be home five days maximum anything more than that, you will be behind on your truck payment with late fees.

    If you buy a used truck that was in a mega fleet, its usually maintained. Most of the mega carriers, including schneider have PM programs. Schneider i believe is 2 a year, BPM biannual preventive maintenance. One of those will also receive the DOT inspection. If you're due for your inspection they will route you to a terminal. Im O/O with US Xpress and they are exactly the same.

    • @LifeOfKO
      @LifeOfKO  Рік тому +1

      I hear different things. Prime it was 75k miles. Schneider I’ve heard 4 different things lol so idk what kind of maintenance they on over here.

    • @traypatterson5523
      @traypatterson5523 Рік тому +3

      75k maintenance intervals is the reason a lot of these fleet owned trucks only last 500k miles before shit starts falling apart and issues become rampant. That on top of how they’re programmed from the factory. Should be changing oil / fuel every 10k to 20k miles

    Future advice. If and when you do get another truck. I suggest get 2. You can always buy and make a good deal when you want to buy 2.
    I say 2 because if one of those trucks goes down.
    It’s easier to keep afloat with 2 running trucks while that 3rd one is in the shop.

Here at Landstar I run 2 loads a week because I don’t want to be out for weeks on end, I go from SC to KY then KY to FL and I bring home $2700 after fuel, Insurance, and their ELD fees. 3 days of work for that I can live with that, and having a paid off truck helps a lot. Next time you schedule your weeks trips, will you record the screen and share your mindset while you go thru the loads. I'm curious to know what info you see before you accept the load. It took a lot of balls to make this video. Because I was there when you made a video about your numbers and everyone in the comments, gave you a hard time and told you that that was unsustainable. If I could give you a bit of advice, seek the advice of a financial advisor before entering into another financial obligation. From what it looks like in this video, you have already purchased another truck. I wish you the best in this venture, but I really do think you should look into professional financial advice, because listening to what you’re saying makes me believe your relationship with money isn’t what it should be. And I have quite a bit of experience in this my wife does this professionally, but if you ever need advice on your next financial decision, feel free to reach out to me or someone else that is a professional in the field. I wish you the best brother keep the videos coming.

      Not even alittle. The thing is boss I never had intentions on keeping the truck. Never wanted to complete the lease or none of that. Could I have completed the lease. Yes absolutely was it smart to no. Not at all especially knowing I wanted more than just one truck and paying 250k for one truck was never smart to me looking at the numbers. I got the truck new because I didn’t want to have to worry about break downs in the time I had it. I used the money I made from this truck to fix my credit and get money saved up. Which is exactly what I did and got my own truck. Explain why I need financial advice? Not being funny but I would love to know.

      @@LifeOfKO The way you say you like to pay things off and that you don’t like owing people. Debt when used right is sometimes the best way to scale. Apple has more cash on hand than anyone and they still have debt. Paying cash or doubling up on payments isn’t always the best method.Sometimes we think we have it all figured out, so we often times go at it alone because we don’t want others telling us not to do it or to avoid discouragement. But a financial advisor can reveal alternatives we never thought of. Being that you want to own multiple trucks, they can create a plan to get your there and also highlight financial risks that may have been overlooked.

    You have to make decisions based on your challenges with work/home time and cheap loads in Florida. Still sad you failed to meet your SFI lease. New SFI people will have to pay more as their RISK is higher based on existing contracts not finishing leases. Probably should have thought about signing the lease long and hard knowing it was a 3-year commitment. Either way continue to press and take care of your family and they should be first priority. OTR may just not be for you with your kids. Hope you get a extended warranty with used trucks as they don't make them like they use to. Good Luck on your Journey.

    Y’all stop leasing these trucks, waste of time and money. Ain no way in hell it make any type sense to pay over thousand a week for a truck. Why? Because it’s brand new? smh trucks at the auction right going for dirt cheap and y’all wasting ya time leasing a truck. I’ll rather stay company before I lease a trk..

    • @LifeOfKO
      @LifeOfKO  Рік тому +1

      It’s really not a waste of time or money if you know what you doing. If everyone had the money to go to an auction or a dealer don’t you think they would.. 😒

    • @JayyATL.
      @JayyATL. Рік тому +1

      @@LifeOfKO nah they wouldn’t cuz they not in know(they don’t know any better) I’m kinda against going to the dealer too. The dealer hit the auctions and buy the trucks for cheap and sell em for double or triple the price. It’s a public auction as well, don’t need a dealer license to get in. But what you could do is at least run the lease until you save 20 to 30k and go back to the auction and buy a older truck for 10 to 20k and buy money in the truck if needs it. Being committed to a 3-4yr lease for a thousand plus a week don’t make good economical sense.

      Not everyone has the $60k to go to auction and buy a truck.
      You’re talking about “$30k” truck at auction??? That truck is garbage with 500k miles on it!!!!! And not everyone can finance the truck from the auction. So he did what he had to do to stack his chips then go buy a truck.
