OK Chris, I subscribed. Just so you can feel what this means, I haven't subscribed to any simracing related channel in the last years. I liked your videos and your personality from the first moment, but I was waiting to see what happens when you become popular. But you still don't ask anyone's money, not even to subscribe or like your videos... This is sadly very rare these days and shows that you make your videos to entertain your viewers, whether it's 100 or 10000 people, while you're having fun too. We need a lot more content creators like you, who don't do this for the money. Cheers!
Thank you my friend, that’s a very kind thing to say and it means a lot. I knew very early on that I never wanted to ask for likes or subs, or offer any paid memberships, because growing a YT channel isn’t the main goal for me. My hobby is sim racing, and making videos. The YT channel is just a bonus extra, as the result of it! Thank you 😃
I found your channel a couple of months ago and I've binge watched a lot of your videos. The improvement in your driving is definitely very visible and the commentary is top tier as always! Great race and video!
Excellent! Glad you found it, and welcome to the carnage 🤣 cheers, yeah it definitely feels like I’ve made some decent strides forward over the past few months.
Great race bud. Clean as always, and a great save going under the bridge to hold on the the podium. Top notch commentating as well, but that's nothing new either!!
It was a nice race, the overtake was a really nice move from you. The pressure was hard and then sometimes there are coming mistakes, but you will learn from it. 😊 Keep up your good race craft. See you at the next race 😄
Yeah I could see the gap coming down from 1.2 to 0.8 to 0.4 over the three laps, so knew it was inevitable I was going to face a battle. But I just tried a little bit too hard to keep that gap between us.
What a save! I thought you were heading straight to the scene of an accident. Suzuka is a very difficult place to master. Some people love it but lots hate it. An LFM podium there is an excellent achievement.
Yeah, I love the track but always struggle with how slippery it feels. And I always find it really difficult to overtake. So yep, definitely well happy with this result!
Great race, Chris! Glad to see a clean race where everyone was driving responsibly. So refreshing not seeing a bunch of asshattery taking out you or other drivers! Too bad you didn't get 2nd, but a podium is still a great result!
Yeah it was a great race, everybody was really clean and fair. To be fair, the roughest move was probably mine! But I definitely think I’d done enough to make that corner mine… particularly with the Porsche making the mistake at the previous corner. Cheers!
That was a brilliant battle and excellent overtake! Its great to see you have a new cockpit aswell. Keep up the good work Chris your commentry and clean racing make these my favourite sim racing videos by far
Thank you mate, yeah I’m well happy with it. It’s helping with my braking, but most importantly, it makes it easier for me just to jump in for a quick race if I fancy one!
Nice race great result and excellent effort 👍💪! Slowly slowly you will get more confident with the new cockpit on the brakes I hope and you will have better results!
Cheers! Yeah, already I felt quite strong on the brakes into the hard braking zones, like T1 and the final chicane. I’ve just gotta find a way of being smoother out of the corners too!
Fantastic race! Loved the overtake. The fact you had another car behind put him in a difficult spot. Otherwise he could have backed out a bit earlier and focused on sticking with you.
Cheers, yeah it’s always horrible to be on the outside when you’re two-wide into that corner as you only really have two options… back out, or get pushed out wide. Its not normally the type of pass I like to make, but I was able to get alongside him so early on the straight, it would have been a waste of a rare overtaking opportunity if I hadn’t gone for it. I’m relieved he didn’t try to fight it! 😅
Thank you Tony! Yeah, much more confidence in the heavy braking zones now. Another really pleasing result. And no desk to rearrange after the race 🤣 Cheers
Cracking race this week Chris, and I'm so glad the new rig is working out well for you! I certainly see a lot of myself in that Ferrari going into the chicane, "now's my chance time to strike, oh shit, oh shit, oh shiiiiiit" 🤣 🤣🤣
Hahaha yeah! In the end, he must have just closed his eyes and waited for the impact! That’s pretty much all you can do 🤣 amazingly good luck that he missed everyone!
One of the points in the vid: "Critical Mindset Knowledge For All Sim Racers" reminded me of some of your past races (I forget which one in particular, but it's one I believei mentioned his reg mistake in the comments and you replied) Esp his #5. Be prepared for the unexpected. Specially, notice if a driver consistently makes a mistake. Wait and set up a pass in that spot, just in case he/she does it again. I remember one race where you were struggling to get by a car. I think the guy consistently ran wide in a particular corner. I thought it would be great to just wait and pass him in that corner. Instead, you were attempting passes at many other places. At least one of those failed attempts, it caused you to not be in a position to pass when he ran wide again. Most of thther times he ran a bit wide, it would have required you to set it up 1-3 corners in advance.
Great race Chris. Sometimes you have to get those elbows out and be a bit more aggressive than normal. Unlucky on losing the car on the exit of Degna2, but at least you controlled it enough to stay out of the wall 👍🏻
Yeah, it’s normally the type of pass I like to attempt… almost like giving someone an ultimatum… back out, or we crash 🤣 but when he made the mistake out of Spoon, I knew it might be the only opportunity I’d get. Really happy with the pass, and the race. Great fun. Thank you!
Intense race, you had to bring your A game to defend and attack. The blue Porsche sure gave you trouble at first, great pace indeed. But you managed to keep in the fight and bring your Lamborghini to P3, so well done to you to secure a podium position. Once more great commentary and nice edit of the video, it sure feels good to see those replays 🙂😎
Thanks mate, yeah it was far more difficult than I hoped it would be! I was hoping to settle into second, chase the quicker leader and leave everybody else behind. But races rarely go as easily as that 🤣 the guys in this race drove really well, fought really cleanly. Was a great race!
Good channel. Subscribed. Watched the fairly recent F4 racing... it's just as I currently experience it - lack of basic racecraft. Too many people arguing over chat that they were faster than you so you should be letting them through... I wish there was a good VR online multiplayer race sim with 'goals' - but iRacing unfortunately remains the only one I know of. Anyway, good race in ACC.
Great result on your first race in the new rig Chris😀 you did well to keep control of the car when you lost second position it could have been a lot worse .
Thank you, yeah it was a great race. Really clean. Although still don’t quite know how the red Ferrari managed to avoid everyone at the final chicane 🤣
Thoroughly enjoyed that Chris, showed good resolve there and great car control saving that oversteer close call! How does the new rig feel in comparison to the playseat (which I am using and loving by the way)?
The Playseats are awesome. I still find the Playseat more comfortable to sit in, it’s taking some time to get used to the upright seat on the new one! Currently it’s the heavy braking I’m noticing the most difference. The Velcro strap on my Playseat, that held the pedals in, was starting to get a bit weak, and there would always be a bit of wobble when I stamped on the brake. But now there’s no extra movement, which I found really helpful at T1 and the final chicane.
😁 Kouba's car demonstrates why 911s have paradoxically had soo much success over the years. Such an extreme rear weight bias gives them more grip, enabling them to consistently get a much better drive out of slow to medium turns, provided one has learned to deal with its other handling quirks😇 (I can't in most sims😌)
Yeah, I’ve never managed to get to grips with the Porsche, it feels like a completely different way to get through the corners. Probably a car you have to choose and then stick with, to really understand with.
@chrisrogerssimracing I hopes of learning to drive them better, two of the cars I drive the most in AMS2 are the Formula Vee and Puma GTE most of the tiime. They have that rear weight bias balance, but more saveable at the limit😅
Hello. Very good first race and podium in your new car 👏 Is there way less flex in the pedals but a little bit more in the seat, or is it just good in both ?
Yeah, the pedals feel completely secure, so I haven’t felt any movement at all so far. The back of the seat can be a little wobbly, I guess because it’s a budget seat and is delivered in two pieces (the seat and the backrest come separately, and you attach it with some screws). You can recline the seat, but that made the wheel feel a bit too far away for my liking.
as many have commented already that was a great race Chris.. man those pesky Porsches are quick of the line and out of the slow corners..... well fort battle. So how is the new rig then... how was your experience changed?
I wouldn’t say the driving experience has changed too much, other than having much more stability in the heavy braking zones. That is definitely helping my corner entries. However the BIG difference is just being able to hop in and race when I want to! No faffing about, rearranging work space, and then having to get it all set back up again afterwards. That is making it so much easier for me 😃
Thanks Adam, yeah it felt really stable and rigid. It really helped in the heavy braking zones for T1, the hairpin and the final chicane. I was losing some time in a straight line, but I was able to brake a little later and regain the lost time. That’s what kept me in contention for P2/P3 I think.
The big difference was certainly in the braking. Its so much easier and quicker to apply 100% brake with no flexing or wobbling from the pedals. I was struggling for pace on the straights, but I was able to keep with the faster guys purely by braking a touch later in the heavy braking zones. T1 and the final chicane in particular. I was able to gain back the time I lost at other parts. So really encouraging!
So I find sim racing communities on Discord are pretty good for this. Most will have a channel for members to offer (or ask for) used kit. I’m in the SCB and La Broca Sim Racing groups on Discord, and both of them do. I got my TM wheel from Ben at La Broca. Also, eBay and Gumtree are worth checking. Often some good used kit on there. A lot of my original used stuff was found on eBay. Good luck 👍
Cheers, I’d probably say it gave me an extra tenth or two - mainly in the heavy braking zones before T1, the hairpin and the final chicane. I felt like I could brake just a fraction later than I used to, knowing that I wouldn’t have to contend with any pedal wobbles. A couple of times, I closed right in on the cars in front by being more confident on the brakes.
Chris great content as per usual . . Did you know Moza sent out emails looking for 10 content creators they can lavish and get behind, i think you would be good for their program . .apply with them as a content creator, a channel like yours will surely be picked , i just know it man. "All over my rear end like a rash"... Dude, give some notice when you are going to drop such a funny one, I was drinking and now I need to clean up my monitor and keyboard...

@@firstjayjay Yeah, the extra stability under heavy braking definitely helped. Particularly into T1, the hairpin and the final chicane. I gained so much time there, by being able to brake more efficiently. Just the acceleration speed out of the corners that I struggled with!
